If I had to take a guess, I would say that the person who cannot stop talking about their ex, their kids' feelings about their ex, the custody arrangments with the ex, how they feel about the custody arrangements, their dating life, and yet hasn't had one single relationship in almost two years since then other than with some kind of bizarre-o bodyguard who is an employee--would actually be the person having such difficulty moving on.
And I would also say that the people who worship this person who ALSO cannot stop talking about the ex and his girlfriend are projecting from their own inability to move on from past hurts and wrongs in old relationships.
WE don't even talk about Jon much anymore here. It's over and done with for ages now and everyone knows it except for Kate and her croonies.
They might be responding to her bucket list, according to the aunt of a TLC employee, who posted on another blog. I know boards on boards is a no-no, but it's almost too good to let slip by. This person said that TLC loves Kate, loves the kids, and has no intention of letting her go because of the high numbers of her tweeting buddies, and because her name is googled so frequently. According to this person, if the ratings drop, no matter, they will just find another place to put her, but they are not leaning to Twisted Kate, but have other things in mind. Oh, and they plan to keep doing episodes and show specials. ===================================== Is this Kate? She loves saying "no matter" and tooting her own horn about how much TLC loves her and the kids.
By the way as long as the subject is Jon, I wanted to remark about this story of him suing his brother for selling stories. It didn't really get that much attention and I never got around to posting about it and I sort of forgot about it, but maybe it's more of an important story than I originally thought.
I think the reason the sheeple don't want to acknowledge this story or they want to spin it as Jon is trying to get attention.
But I think they don't want this story around because, if true, it's proof Jon wasn't necessarily the one leaking stories. Just because it's something only "Jon" would know about, doesn't mean someone in his inner circle, someone he would trust as much as you would trust your OWN BROTHER, wasn't going behind his back leaking things. He was always blamed for leaks, even implied by Kate. There are a hundred ways a story could link and Jon is just one of many possible ways.
here in the uk today they are showing the episode of the childrens 3rd birthday carnival party all those friends of the children and the helpers. johns grandmother was at the party .on the settee interview john and kate talked very happily about great grandma and how lovely it was to have her around the children. none of kates relatives there. its so sad to see all these people are not in these childrens lives today on their 7th birthday.
Hmm, there was mention on another blog that Kate's strange behaviour during that red carpet interview was because she was a little tipsy. Watch it again, it kind of looks that way!

I have wondered for a while now if perhaps he was savvy enough to have his contract written to include some percentage of the TLC profit of the Kate franchise. Midnight Madness: you know how I know that "aunt of a TLC producer" story is bunk? Ratings DO matter. A lot. TLC is a business, and when ratings are down consistently, as they are with Kate's show, that means advertisers are dropping like flies. THAT means revenues are down. That means her show is too expensive and risky to produce.
The network can get out of the production schedule/contract anytime, it's the "star" who cannot. Kate is not some sort of sacred cow--her ratings are awful and have been sinking for a while. TLC might want to do a yearly special on the kids, but I can't see them wanting to continue this expensive show with little audience intersest much longer. It doesn't make financial sense.
If you are following Kate on Twitter, DON'T. I have to agree and have mixed feelings about the blogs and myself for keeping this woman relevant. Eventually, TLC will make the business decision that her demands and cost are not worth it.

Actually if I'm calculating this right, in the Ratings thread from last week someone here posted Kate's tweet about getting the house in order on May 3, 2011 11:17 PM, as a tweet "20 minutes ago" which was Pacific Time. So that would have actually been about 2AM EST. Indeed, May 4th. She also said she was going to be leaving in the next few days....If she were leaving Wednesday, why didn't she just say I'm leaving tomorrow?
Anyway this really doesn't matter to me. There are far bigger things she has lied about than this. Heck maybe she didn't want to give a play-by-play of where she was so as not to tip off the paps....nah, that can't be it, this is Kate.

So for me, it would have certainly read May 3rd, as it was only the evening for me. But for Kate, it was the early morning hours of May 4th. She even says she's about to go to bed, corroborating that it was late in the evening. Saying you are off in the "next few days" when you in fact left the very next day is not exactly the same thing.

As far as the flowers thing I don't know I may be in the minority but I think I would be a little creeped out some stranger gave me flowers then wanted my picture. The show followed the former America's Got Talent judge and Baywatch legend, 58, as he guided the music careers of his two daughters, Taylor Ann and Hayley.
The first episode aired on Sunday night and drew 718,000 viewers – and viewership for the second installment, which aired on the same night, dropped to 505,000.

I think Kate's tweet times depend on what time zone your personal twitter account is set to. I share the same time zone (Eastern) as Kate. Her tweets that show up as May 3 to someone are listed as May 4 on mine because they took place after midnight (actually after 1am).
As of May 4th the next evening at 8:47pm she claimed she didn't "know yet" because she was "disorganized in the packing world this time." (She was asked about her hat but it seems she wasn't packed yet?)

Regarding the Courier-Journal interview; It's true, she's got issues in the intelligence area. I watched two of them, Erin Andrews and Katie Irene.
Hookay Katie.......They're going to ask about three or so things. Then they'll hustle you off. Two of those things will be the hat and the derby.

Kate: (Hat) No idea where this hat came from. (Derby) Eight is my number. This led to some confusion as to the significance of number eight, then apparently somebody off camera clued in the interviewer as to the meaning of eight. Then the interviewer took the easy way out and asked if the (eight) kids were going to watch the Derby and the lump of clay gave the same answer as the hat. I don't know if they'll watch.
No plug for the hat store...and I'm guessing it's either a freebie or loaner. The line about not knowing if the eight were watching is a huge tell she didn't speak to them while in Louisville.

The attrocity of a dress (prom dress for an 18 year old) is worth $370 and is featured in that collection. Oh, yes, I totally agree with you. I thought it was bunk, too, but then I thought back to all of the times when we thought she was done, only to have her emerge as a Phoenix out of the ashes. I can't imagine TLC "loving" her. Certainly they love the money she brings in, but to say that ratings don't matter is bunk. They do matter. However, from the post it sounded like even if the show were canceled, they would find a place for her on another show because they still feel they can get some usage out of her (her "popularity" via Tweets, Google, etc.) because she still is relevant.
I think the mere fact that TLC moved the new episodes to 10 p.m. is revealing they are not that invested in her anymore. She's delusional if she thinks they will spend big bucks on her and flying a crew to film expensive vacations when the ratings are down. Even some sheeple have commented that they are tired of the field trips and miss the day-to-day stuff. I agree. I used to watch. Problem is, Kate commands so much of the screen time and she's so bad, that it doesn't matter what the kids do or say. In fact, the kids are difficult to watch with all their squirming and jibberish. The show just plain stinks.
Maybe Steve is showing some irritation with her or just doesn't give a whip because it's just about over anyway as far as not intervening with the paps. If K8 isn't brining in the viewers the advertisers aren't making money. If the advertisers aren't making money they are going to pull their advertising and put it in a more profitable show. As far as the remark about her twittering buddies, 11K isn't all that many (Jon has close to 70K. If all the "haters" that follow K8 just for the laughs were to unfollow, her numbers would drop dramatically. Who know how many accounts different sheeple have created to inflate her numbers. She only tweets to the same goup of a dozen or so folks. Nope, TLC aunt, wife of a pap, etc. and so on are all people who want to stir the pot and create gossip....Oh, yes they are!

The 36-year-old mother of eight showed off her svelte figure in a form-fitting black and tan dress paired with strappy black heels. Gosselin rocked a wide-brim black hat with feathers and contrarily demure teardrop pearl earrings.
But the divorcee probably wasn't tearing up the dance floor in her derby dress. At Friday's Barnstable Brown Derby Party in Louisville, Ky., she told Us Weekly her stint on Dancing with the Stars was an eye-opening experience.

LOL! I hadn't caught that Carrie Underwood was wearing the same dress as Kate's Barnstable Brown Bash dress in a lighter color. I went back and looked at the pix and Shanola Hampton (whoever she is) is also wearing it in a slightly different light color. Most of the dresses pictured would be inappropriate for a woman of Kate's age, but there were a couple - the simple black floor length gown worn by Sansone, and the pink floor length gown worn by Vanna White would have both been age appropriate, occasion appropriate and lovely on Kate. She's not a physically unattractive woman when dressed and made up properly. NONE of the dresses pictured there, though, would have been appropriate attire for the actual Derby.
Oddly - Kate Walsh was wearing shoes very similar to Kate's black strappy numbers. On her they looked great, paired with a simple white dress with a black belt and a black hat. Too bad Kate G. couldn't manage a similar look.
Kate's tweet today about the sextuplets was just another reminder of how thoughtless she is! Firstly, she should never had made those 'sediments' public, just like her book, 'I Just Want You To Know'. Is there NOTHING private in her life? (Except the true nature of her relationship with Steve.)

Notice how Kate instantly is annoyed when the first interviewer clearly has NO IDEA why Kate bet on horse #8. Someone in the background apparently was trying to clue the interviewer in, but she didn't get it. Another interviewer then graciously stepped in and asked if the kids were watching it (maybe trying to help the first interviewer save face?)
You can see Kate trying to walk away & disengage because she's really agitated that the interviewer didn't know who she was!

She loves being a mom. Right. She just has to stick that in there. Who walks around saying that every time they speak. We all love our kids and love being a mom, but we don't try to shout it from the rooftops, we quietly and consistently live it. We treat our kids like the treasures they are -- not for what they can do for us.
In addition to your great comments, this is what I noticed:
When the interviewer calls over for Erin Andrews, Erin walks over with a big smile and politely greets the interviewer with a big "Hey, how are you? Nice to see you".
For Khate's interview, Khate strolls over, already bored, and does not greet the person at all. She just stands and waits for a question and her first word is “Um...."
When asked where she got her Derby hat, Erin Andrews gives the name of the store there in Louisville and say they were great, etc. That was nice and she was prepared.
When asked about her hat, Khate acts completely disinterested as if the interviewer is talking about her last root canal, and Khate replies "local", but she does not know where. It’s hard to hear that part of it, but I think the interviewer asks her if she got the hat there in Louisville and Khate says yes, but, Khate couldn’t be bothered to mention the store to thank them. She simply could not care less.
Erin is full of enthusiasm and energy. She seems like a genuinely nice person, and seems sincerely happy to be there having a good time. She mentions that she’s there with girl friends having a girls’ weekend, enjoying all the activities.
Khate appears very tired, bored, uninterested. She's so inarticulate, can only say "amazing” “exciting” and “um”, just like in that other Derby interview that was linked here over the weekend. First of all, she seems to be searching for the words in her head and that’s all she can come up with because she’s lying. Then, there is the BIG tell that when she’s saying "amazing....exciting", she is actually shaking her head back and forth "No". You don’t have to be a body language expert to realize that she is in addition to her terrible mood, she is totally lying.
Honestly, (to use one of her favorite words, lol), this interview and her other one at the Derby are the worst I have ever seen. She truly seems so unhappy that she simply cannot fake it any longer. I can’t even understand why she bothered to even go there. I had mentioned in another post the other day that I saw tons of Derby photos over the weekend and many shots were of groups of girlfriends in their hats at the Derby, having fun. But, there Khate was all alone except for boobyguard purse boy. I wonder if she ran into Erin and tried to hang out with her group of friends.
Really, if I didn’t think she was such a mean, nasty person, I would finally feel sorry for her at this point. All I can say is that I am very good at reading people and I think that in these two interviews I have seen a different Khate. She seems extremely unhappy, depressed really. Actually, I’ve got the word – Defeated. Yes, that’s it, defeated. I think she knows it’s over, I really do.

Tucker's Mom, you said you had no idea why I posted the video...I'm probably being overly sensitive. I like/enjoy all the posters here (including the ones I sometimes disagree with), and, yes, I'll move on. Wish Bristol hadn't had that work done...she's much too young, and I loved her fresh, wholesome look. She does look beautiful, though, and I hope she'll stop now before she goes too far. When one has to keep making the same declaration over and over again it means that the person is trying to convince himself/herself that it's true. In Kate's case, we don't believe it, and neither does she.
..at the end of the tape of the interview, linked above...Kate says, after being asked if the kids will be watching, and she says she doesn't really know... she then says.. "they are just jealous that they are not here"...I have noticed she often says, they are jellus to not be where she is... is that a narcissistic thing? My response would be in that kind of situation.. " My kids really wished they could have been here"...but she always says they are jellus...is that because she sees them as extensions of herself, and what ever she is feeling, they must be feeling that also?

Kate also mentions a little too much how much the kids LOVED this and LOVED that and LOVED what she did for them they were so happy, etc., etc. She is also over-compensating big time. Kate? Kids do not always love everything, nor are they always happy, and it doesn't mean you are a bad mother.
The kids love and adore things so much so often it's just not credible anymore.
Hmm, there was mention on another blog that Kate's strange behaviour during that red carpet interview was because she was a little tipsy. Watch it again, it kind of looks that way!

I'd take that with the proverbial grain of salt. It was the P Wives (or one of the many other names the person uses) who posted it, and credibility there has been called into question.
It's difficult to tell when Kate has been nipping because she always appears a bit befuddled (good PA Dutch word!).
JudyK and Tucker's Mom - I hope neither of you mind me commenting on the issue. I was confused and I scrolled back. I think it has something to do with Judy posting a comment that there was that airport video on Radar Online. Then, Tucker's Mom looked for it and came back and said it was no big deal, didn't know why Judy even bothered mentioning it.
Actually, thank you for posting about it Judy, because I was not aware of the Radar Online airport video and I did find it interesting, as did several others, apparently.

just wondering, as many of you here have had experience with narcissists.. &&&&&& Yes this is definitely my experience. I believe this would be related to their lack of empathy. Because they have no empathy, they cannot put themselves in the shoes of another person and try to understand where they are coming from. They just can't understand a different perspective. Kate fits this perfectly. She expects the kids to love everything she does, she doesn't understand when they would want to do something she wouldn't--like eat bugs or go camping. In fact many times she has said things like "How can you like that?" or "How can you do that, God bless ya child" or things to that effect.
An example from my own experiences would be when my narcissist hired a friend to video her child's school project, a "news cast". It was just sort of a little open house, it wasn't anything big. The videographer was running a little late, traffic or whatever it was. He certainly called and said he was coming and when. He ended up being about 10 minutes late. It really wasn't a big deal, we waited for him since we knew he was on his way. The kids were fine, the teacher wasn't even mad.
Oh, but to the narcissist? She paced, she stomped, she made phone calls, she scowled, she demanded to know why "no one is appreciating the urgency here!" over and over.
She could not understand why people would be calm in a situation like this, why it wouldn't get to us. She couldn't understand our perspective that there was nothing we could do and this wasn't a big deal. She couldn't understand that we didn't want to throw a fit like a child in front of a fifth grader and his class.
And naturally later she bit her friend's head off.

Tonight, I had such a heart wrenching come to Jesus moment that totally tugged at my heart. Yeah, I've been busting on Kate Gosselin for the past week and rightfully so. I detest this woman and all she has done to her children.
In the midst of my snarking and yes, I do go overboard some times, out of the blue comes a message from someone called "tiredmommyof4" on Kates twitter account. Her message, brief as it was somehow resonated with me and actually took me from my typical snark mode to reading again what she had to say. Here was a mom of 4 kids, her moniker "tiredmommyof4" spoke volumes and after responding to her, I had a gut feeling that this was truly a real mom who gives all and complains least and may actually be tired.
She responded politely and shared briefly her challenges but shared mostly, her feelings of love for her kids, one particularly who has special needs but nonetheless, is special to her.
This brief exchange stopped me in my tracks and I felt the utmost compassion for this tired mommy of 4 who has earned her stripes and complains not but gives all she can to 4 children who will ultimately love her for the "Mommy" she is.
She is the picture of what "Moms" are and what "Moms" can be. All the accolades that are given to Kate, the mother of 8 but the MOM to none are hollow. This tiredmommyof4 is representative of what real MOMS are and she came out of the blue tonight with a soft spoken message but a hard hitting lesson of what true love for a child is. My hats off to her.
I've been reading you on twitter, and I did criticize Kate over there a LOT when she first got on, but when I stopped, it felt really good.
Anyway, on a different (but related) topic...I never watch TLC at ALL, but earky this evening they had on a special about the McCoughey (sp?) sextuplets, who turned 13 last November. Remember them? From Iowa? There's one older sister. Anyway, they irritated me a bit back in the day with all their "GOD DID THIS" talk (medicine did that), but they were an honest, down-to-earth family. They never did episodes or seasons. There were a few shows when they were little, they were on some magazine covers, and that was it.
The difference in the two moms couldn't be more stark. The McCoughey sextuplets and their older sister live a quiet life in Iowa, they aren't wealthy, but everyone is doing well. Watching them, it really struck me how bizarre Kate's life is comparatively speaking.
But seriously, kids need to learn that when it's other people's birthday, it's their day. You don't get gifts because it's not "fair". Your birthday will come and then it will be your turn. But you also don't give one sibling three parties and the other just one. ==== Exactly. She needs to skip this three-party ridiculousness and wittle it down to one. And on that day the parents should put aside their differences and celebrate WITH them like she said they were going to do, which was ANOTHER great big lie. The best gift ever for any kid on their birthday would be to know that even though your parents are divorced they love you enough to do that.

I'm probably being nit picky but why three gifts each for the twins? I don't recall ever seeing or hearing her do this before, so why start now. Just sounds a little fishy to me.
I agree Admin. If Kate wants to be fair, she should limit parties to one for the twins and one for the sextuplets. Moreover, she wouldn't have to feel guilty about celebrating the sextuplet's birthday.
Kate's only making it worse by giving the twins gifts as well. Won't the sextuplets be expecting gifts on the twins' birthday now?
Kate should just try doing a special activity with her twins during the filmed birthday, since she's getting it for free anyway. It's all fake anyway. Both Kate and the twins already know it. At least that's what I would do if I was a grifter on a reality tv show.

I fear she is taking up the 'challenge' to turn her 15 minutes of fame into a career.
Why should young girls avoid getting pregnant? It worked out great for Bristol and others on Teen Mom shows, right? Such a sad shame that American girls are choosing such a destructive path for themselves and their innocent children.
For every Bristol who makes money and "succeeds", there are 10s of thousands for whom teen motherhood leads directly to a life of poverty and little chance of success for mom or child.
The thing is the twins will always have to deal with having a six-pack for younger siblings and all the attention they get.
On the flip side, it isn't easy to be one of the sextuplets either. Some of them clearly HATE the attention of it, Collin for one.
I think Kate is conscious on an elementery level that because of the six Mady and Cara are not getting the attention or life they would have. But the way to address that is to carve out special time for them, not to try to buy away any ill feelings with gifts.
Buying a child a gift because they are feeling gipped really completely avoids the real issue, and doesn't teach them anything about how to deal with life's little hiccups of unfairness. As usual, lazy parenting. Just shut them up with a gift. As usual, Kate trying to make herself seem so loving and attentive to the twins, and just makes herself look worse.
Will the Tups get gifts on the twins' birthday? Excuse me but that is THEIR DAY.
Thanks Admin... your explanation clears up a lot of her comments/reactions..I also feel even sorrier for those kids, because my relationship with the person I mentioned earlier became very toxic and very stressful. I didn't realize to what extent, until she was no longer in my life. and it took a while for me to re-couperate.. those kids are going to need the power of a higher Authroity to make it out unscathed!!! on an interesting sidebar, there are many similarities between kate and my "friend", from how she holds her hands with those manicured nails and flips her hair, to the teeth, and other mannerisms... its almost freaky....
...maybe if we think and wish and hope and pray it might come true...oh, wouldn't it be nice?

Some of them do hate the attention, but do you think they hate the trips and perks that go with it? Can they separate the two? It seems that their sense of entitlement continues to grow. I'm not so sure I would called them "spoiled," but they do know that they are different from their peers because all they have to do is ask, and it shall be given. I remember when Kate asked Mady where she wants to go (for a mother-daughter trip). Mady said, "San Diego." Kate said, "SOLD!" It was hers for the asking, and off they went. What parent does that?
What is going to happen when they become the Gosselins who used to be famous? I would believe that the entitlement will follow them into adolescence. It's all they have ever known.
Linda G.-I was reading the comments from last to first and was going to comment (as you mentioned to Sharon) that her tweets are JUST like her couch interviews. NOTHING like how things REALLY transpire. I am sooooo sure the gift opening "ceremony", prayer and all, (rolling eyes) brought tears to her eyes...more like the kids had tears, it was total pandemonia, kids "melting down", her screaming, threatening, telling them to thank her.... But when she tweets, ...it's sunshine and lollipops, just like her "recapping" on the couch.
Do the twins even get a birthday party? One with hats and friends and ice cream and cake and fun? We've certainly never seen it. Yeah, one year they were taken to NYC to American Girl, and another year, they went out to dinner with their parents, were kept up too late, and were scolded by Kate for being cranky. Contrast the extravaganza every year for the tups birthdays. Kate doesn't seem to understand that she's setting the kids up for a lifetime of sibling rivalry and resentment, "3 gifts" notwithstanding.
I have an acquaintance with 2 children. When the older, a daughter, was 7, a much desired son was born. Suddenly, everything became about the son. DD was forced to quit her riding lessons and dance class, which she loved and was good at, because "it's too much trouble with the baby". It became "no, I can't tuck you in, I have to feed the baby", and "no, I can't read with you before bed, the baby needs me". As the children got older it was "no, you can't have a party for your Confirmation, it's too close to ______ birthday" and "we can't come to your school concert, ________ has a ball game". Fast forward to the present. DD is now 23 and they haven't seen her in 4 years. She won a full tuition scholarship to a local school but opted to live in her car (which she paid for with part-time jobs) rather than stay with her parents. DS is a spoiled, rude, entitled brat and a bully who is in constant trouble in school and in the neighborhood, but to his parents, he can do no wrong. Kate is setting up the same scenario in her family. She's been telling those twins, by her words and her actions, that they are no longer relevant and important to her, since they were 3 1/2. Mady calls her out on it and gets labeled a b^&%h, a c#@t, a troll, a brat, and the "bad" twin. Cara disappears into the woodwork. Neither will have a healthy loving relationship with her mother as an adult.

No class. That about sums it up. Jon was right when he said she had no clothes sense. I think back in the show's hey day and when Kate lost all the weight, she must have had a stylist and looked good in her tasteful Ann Taylor wardrobe. But since the boob job, it's been all about exposing the girls. I think ol' Steve likes the slutty look since he advised her on the boob job.

Seems to me the b'day party episode would be a fitting way to end the show. I can't imagine this continuing for much longer. Kate Gosselin has no charm, no talent, and TLC has given her every opportunity to be the type of celebrity that people would embrace; instead, her small circle consists of teen girls and frustrated housewives who envy her lifestyle. Not what advertisers nor TLC had in mind.

I finally broke down and clicked on the link for the Derby interview where she is exclaims the kids are jellus.
I was astounded by how bored, arrogant and annoyed she was at having to stand for that tiny interview. She kept trying to walk away.
I have not watched this woman do anything or speak for several years now. IS SHE PHYSICALLY INCAPABLE OF MAKING ANY EYE CONTACT WITH ANOTHER HUMAN? she sure couldnt do it in this interview. she looked up, over and around like there was a twitch she was trying to mask, but only glanced briefly at the interviewer. Does she not comprehend that this demeanor gives her the appearance of complete arrogance and that is WHY the kids' show is failing?
And her accent seems to have gotten so much worse. With all the professional media assistance she seems to have had for the past 6 years, you would think she would have a semi gracious demeanor and be a bit, just a bit, well spoken.
Looking at Kate's tweets about the kids' birthday are all about HER in a circular way. Not one thank you to the fans for all the HB greetings. Not one acknowledgement of the videos the tweens made for the kids. Nothing. Just "they screamed' of course because of their gifts from mommy dearest. Even a reference to the NICU, you know, where she spent 32 years of bed rest. LOL One fan did ask if the twins still had problems with the amount of attention the tups get, of course, she said no. They are kids, and of course they will feel slighted. Who is she kidding. She probably did give them 3 gifts or a gift, at least, to try and soothe their feelings. Which, I agree, ADMIN, I think it is wrong to do that. The tups still have one more party, she said the other day, with friends, which will be filmed. Wonder if it will be at the public park again, so she can complain about the paps. Probably, I am sure she doesn't want the parents to come to the mcmansion. Which was really telling, last year. That big back yard is perfect for a party. Oh forgot, it will be filmed...

I know what you mean about the mannerisms. My mother-in-law is a narcissist and she carries herself the exact same way Kate does. Nose in the air. Looking around, but never looking anyone in the eye. An air of entitlement to them.
You are also correct about the kids getting out unscathed. A lot of damage is already done and will continue to be. It will likely take many years for them to completely cut their mother out of their life, deal with their anger/hurt, and finally move on. It took my husband until he was in his early 40's before he finally cut off all communication with his mother. It's sad that it has to be this way, but it really is the only way to deal with a narcissist - to NOT deal with them. They are too toxic to allow them to remain in your life.

Actually, the kids should only have 2 birthdays. One with Kate and one with Jon. Cause, we all know that Kate would never invite Jon, to the house(she might claim he stole something), let a lone, to any birthday party of the kids. Kate still has never moved on, as long as she bashes Jon, she will never have Jon at the house or birthdays. And yes, 3 birthdays is over the top, and giving presents to older children is also over the top. Kate is tryin to show up Jon. Lavish parties, buying love of the kids, causing jealousy among the kids, making Dad feel bad cause he can not afford lavish gifts or parties, Kate is buying her kids with their money. And Sheeple think this is normal and OK. It's NOT! Normal people don't get 3 parties or give older kids gifts on someone elses birthday(unless the child is say one year older and is under 3), or show up the other parent, that see Dad has no money or not enough money to take care of you, so the kids won't get the idea of moving in later with Dad. Kate is playing a mean game with her kids. A power struggle in the making. A choice no child should have to make: live with me and you get lavish gifts and parties, trips, etc, live with Dad and you get love and caring, normal life but no lavish parties and gifts. I feel sorry for the kids. Kate is using them, not for just filming, but a personal revenge against Jon. It's: see I can do this and that, give them this and that and cause you divorced me, you can't give them nothing. If Kate could(and it was legal) she would stomp Jon out of existence, she would stomp everyone who did not see things her way out of existence. She is cruel, greedy and mean, and needs to grow up and move on, and get those kids off TV.

Last year, Mady did say "we only got one party, but they get 3". I am sure they get something. But it surely is NOT filmed now, no reference at all to their BD. It really makes me feel sad for them.
Your story about your acquaintance really hits home with me. I have 8 siblings. (See Kate, big families CAN make it without a reality show) ONE Of my brothers was the fav, still is. He was the last, the' baby'. Do you know, we are all in our late 50's and 60's now and it STILL has an effect on us? When planning a family get together, if lil Bro is even slightly displeased with the arrangements, the rest of us are expected to rearrange OUR schedules to match his. LOL We have matured, but this is STILL a sticking point with us. And he is the total brat of the family. This treatment affected HIM as well, and certainly not in a good way. Frankly, though, I think it made me a better parent, I never once showed favoritism to any of mine. They ALL think I love them the most. LOL
Not to belabor the point but the three gifts to Mady and Cara at first blush might not seem like a big deal, but if you think about it, is really one of Kate's worst parenting mistakes ever.
She accomplished many things. She is REWARDING Mady and Cara for her jealousy. She is REWARDING negative behavior. She is AVOIDING the real issue, their jealousy. Instead of talking about the root of the problem with them and working through it, she rewarded it! She is BUYING off good behavior. She is not teaching these children that when it is someone else's special day, it's someone else's special day and it's NOT about you. And in fact, you should pitch in and help make someone's day special, not wallow in your own jealousy until someone shuts you up with a gift. But I suppose a narcissist doesn't understand that, that a birthday is not about you, it is about the birthday boy or girl. Kate is, shudder, teaching these kids to be narcissists.

And I have to chime in with No regrets, I was 21 when my little brother was born (product of my dad's 3rd marriage). Even now my older brother and I complain about how that kid gets everything handed to him. Parents pay for everything; school, car, clothes, new computer EVERY year, any new gadget that comes out - you get the idea. I am 42 years old and it still pisses me off. *sigh* Nothing new here though, Khate is still screwing up her kids lives - even when she thinks she's being 'nice'.

In one couch interview, they both said of the tups birth, "What have done to the twins?" by having these 6 babies. Sure, the entire attention HAD been on the twins, but why even say that out loud? I am sure this was said or conveyed to the twins. Instead of trying to tell the twins what a blessing that they now have 6 siblings. How lucky, etc. You, hopefully, get my meaning.
They both made a huge deal of the twins being allowed to demand they not come in their room etc. The twins DID deserve privacy, but that is one thing I did notice, the "poor twins" mentality was really pushed. Of course, being kids, they are going to run with that. Mady more so than Cara.

That was me who tried calling. I called IMMEDIATELY after it was reported they had just said that about Kate's show. The program schedule showed a program airing right then, still no answer. I tried the very next day when BOTH of the channels they had had programs on that very minute, music and talk on both, still NO answer. Just strange. LOL You would think as a program was airing that minute that someone had to be there? Oh well, I don't know how they operate.
I don't believe the twins got gifts on the tup's birthday. Just said on twitter to make her look good.

I don't believe Steve is interested in her romantically, physically, or in any other way except as a means to his TLC paycheck for babysitting her.

I don't believe she has handled the money well at all and within two years (or less) after the show's cancellation, she'll be in fairly dire straights. That's a shame, since if she had lived a fairly modest life, she could have lived on the interest for quite some time.

My ex and I had a horrible marriage, but since divorcing 24 years ago, we have celebrated our 2 sons' birthdays together every year.
After the divorce, we also attended their parent-teacher conferences together, as well as their baseball and soccer games and band concerts together. My 2nd husband accompanied us to all of these events. We were the Three Stooges to be sure, and teachers and coaches were amazed (nobody was more amazed and grateful than me).
Peace is a wonderful gift to give your children. And it doesn't cost a thing.

The radio station was a college station. When I was in college I 'worked' for the station and it was barely staffed, had no office, and ran by the seat of it's pants. I'm not surprised there was no answer. I am amazed that they had a phone!
As for the flowers handed to Kate: I had the same feeling that they were somehow connected to TLC or Kate's PR firm and that she and Steve were expecting them. Either way, her behavior was completely rude for not saying thank you, but that's Kate; she feels she's above the common folk and shouldn't have to be courteous and polite or treat others with respect. She treated the flower situation the same way she did the guide in NZ by refusing to use his name. She shows no respect for others and she's teaching her kids to do the same.

I wouldn't have been creeped out by the flowers. I would have been surprised, but not creeped out. I would have taken them, stopped and talked to the pap, looked him in the eye when I spoke to him, and thanked him for being so nice, and told him that I wished his wife, mother, or whatever a Happy Mother's Day. Judging from Erin Andrews' interview clip, I bet she would have done the same. She greeted the interviewer, said that it was good to see her, and actually looked at her when she was speaking.

I don't think she is a whiz at money, or much of anything, for that matter. BUT she has ALWAYS been known as tightwad and very stingy with her own money. I really think Kate has squirreled away every cent she possibly can. I really believe in this area, she probably has gone to an expert/experts about investing.
By the way, did anyone notice the tweet from Jon yesterday? He thanked people for the birthday wishes for the tups, then said happy birthday to everyone else whose birthday was that day.

Like I said before, I travel through Reagan airport 2 to 3 times a month, and have never ever seen a pap. Some poster said that paps were stationed at baggage claim to shoot any celebs coming from the derby. Doesn't make sense and that was not baggage claim where the pap was talking to Kate because they were going down the escalator to baggage claim. The pap was there waiting after they exited the secure area from the gates. He had to have known what their flight was because different airlines are located at different terminals. It was a set-up. If it's a 1 person studio, they can't answer the phone and run the program at the same time unless it's a call-in show. Sometimes there is a 2nd person for technical stuff while the DJ or program person is on the air.
I called and called and called a small radio station in Illinois in the middle of the night once because the same awful song played over and over and over again. It went on for almost an hour. I thought I would "help" them by telling them their autoplay gizmo was out of whack. Not one of my calls was answered. So sometimes there is nobody in the studio and it's run on autopilot.

I've seen several articles the last few days that have mocked her Derby attire, and they've commented on her tweets and linked to her Twitter. SO, she now knows that there are some media outlets that will be keeping an eye on her tweets. She DESPERATELY wants to get press attention!

So, yes, maybe it was about that suit over the therapist bill. I sure hope it was incurred prior to the filing of their divorce complaint, that way they are both responsible regardless of what the bill is for. If so, it's a marital debt and should have been taken care of in the divorce proceedings almost two years ago.

I remember first watching Ab-Fab when my oldest was still a baby and trying not to laugh out loud when watching the show and giving him his night time feeding (and waking him up) Now he watches them with me (he's 18).
For the two older girls, I have to think that they are in the process of coming of age, if you know what I mean. (I want to be delicate and discrete here).
My relationship with my own mom at that age was pretty rocky. I was, after all (LOL) 'almost a woman' and I really felt I knew it all.
Naturally, the teenage certainty, fueled by hormones, that I was all-knowing just increased during my teenage years and mom and I were butting heads every single day.
It was a hard time that had lasting effects until she passed away in 2002. To this day I feel very conflicted about our relationship.
I assume that Kart's relationship with the twins behind the scenes is much more combative than we see on film. I applaud the girls for refusing to participate, i.e. the one on the couch with her arms folded, back turned to the camera and refusing to speak. I worry what punishment she receives for that natural and appropriate rebellion.
I also wonder if the girls know they can refuse to be filmed. However they do it, they DON'T have to participate. I wonder if they know they can retain an attorney on their own even at their age. I don't know how it would work (ADMIN, CAN YOU CHIME IN HERE IN GENERAL TERMS?) but certainly in their position I would just refuse to come out of my room.
I was such a badass that I ran away from home at age 10 because my mom kept serving me the stuffed green pepper I refused for dinner. We battled that for breakfast and dinner the next night, and breakfast the third day before I went home with a friend who hid me in her room.
Unknown to me, the base MPs were called for a runaway... my dad was mucho pissed when I surfaced. But!!! In my favor, the MP told my mom, in front of me, "maybe you should throw away the green pepper". Can you imagine the smug look on MY face. Yep, well, my dad got involved and I couldn't sit down for a few days as the old saying goes. Back in the day, 'the belt' was the answer to many a problem.
I haven't eaten green peppers in the 50 years since. LOL - showed her, didn't I?! LOL
I have to hope, and actually think, that the adults in the girls' lives know what is happening at home and are providing support in the ways that they can.
Jon seems to be very good at providing them the privacy they need and I applaud him for that. I also assume that Jon and Ellen provide a stable environment for the kids.
As much as we all see on television, and what we know must be on the cutting room floor, I can't but help believe that there is much, much, much more we don't see. That is what is scary when thinking about the safety and happiness of the kids.
I agree with many posters here that Kart tries to manipulate the public (stating the obvious, huh? :-)... and the more folks respond to her pathetic twits the more she feels validated.

I worked on my college's radio station when I was in college. It's possible that most of their program is pre-recorded and no one is in the studio a good bit of the time. We would go in at odd hours, record the programming, and then set it up. We only did about an hour of live programming a day.

Totally off topic of Kate, but on the issue of small radio stations, I heard Dan Rather tell a story about when he was an announcer at a radio station in Texas when he was a teenager. It was a religious station so they played lots of recordings of sermons. One day he put on a record of a sermon - a fire and brimstone one at that - and left the station to go get lunch. It was a small town so the station owner called around and found him and told him to get back to the station immediately. Turns out the record he played had started skipping and were repeating the words "Go to hell, go to hell, go to hell" over the air.

I admit that my kids have two celebrations, because we celebrate on their actual birthday by eating dinner at their favorite place and having a special dessert, then they have a birthday party with friends on the nearest weekend to their birthday. Sometimes they get 3 celebrations if their dad decides to do something, too.
The thing is, it's that way for ALL my kids' birthdays, not just one. And not even one of them is filmed for exploitation.

It's a borough in northeastern PA, Luzerne County, in the coal region. It's about an hour and a half from Reading. It's not anywhere near DC. She was there for a court appearance. Lying, yes; filming, no.

The court appearance was just another opportunity for Kate to diss Jon.
I thought it was pretty funny where they said the Police Chief, police officers and students from a career center were brought in to help with parking for the big crowd they expected. Turns out only 15 people stood outside.
Of course Steve was with her...he ALWAYS is, day and night, everywhere she goes. He wore his red tie and she her bright pink dress. He drove the SUV they left in. Read an article somewhere today about them being arm-in-arm at one of the Derby parties; they spent four nights together--could have left Saturday after the Derby in order to spend Mother's Day at home but instead spent an additional night together before leaving on Sunday and being photographed alone together (no entourage) at the Airport. Two years ago, they were seen holding hands by a NYC D.J.; they've been seen getting cozy on the beach by a respected editor; they've been seen getting cozy at a NYC concert (the one where she had her pic taken with Trump); there's a funny video out about Steve being Kate's lover; Steve is NEVER with his wife. And, frankly, I hope Dr. Phil gets involved in this, because both Jon and Kate saw him initially...not just Kate...and from what I remember his sympathy was with Jon. Also, Dr. Phil was a guest on The View one time when she was "co-hosting," and he basically just ignored her. I don't think he can stand her. She told him how much she admired him and without even looking at her, he said out of the side of his mouth, "Thank you," and ignored her for the rest of his time there.
I thought Kate said that the divorce decision came when she went to Bald Head Island...wasn't that later in the year, like in June? I would be more inclined to believe that Kate asked for marriage counseling expecting the psychologist to say, "Bad Jon! Bad, Bad Jon!". If the counseling in any way involved examining her ways of handling conflict in the marriage instead, I would expect Kate to react by saying that the counselor (and the bills) were Jon's, not hers.

It seems that it's an internet browser specific issue. I use Chrome and have never run into the posting problem - never, but people who use other browsers have reported running into it. Give Chrome a try - it's simple and fast. Others who were experiencing the problem suggested copying what you've written before you click to post the comment; that way you have it to paste in case you have to submit it again.
We've said many times that narcissists do not respond to therapy and usually won't even go. BUT one of the few times they will go is if they perceive it is to help someone ELSE, they are just doing a giant favor to help someone who needs massive help. They will never see "conjoint" therapy as a 50-50 thing, it's always the other person who needs it.
Such is exactly the case here, Kate told herself Jon was the one who needed help and she graciously agreed to come along to help HIM. Typical.
Figures the second the therapist actually tries to talk about Kate, i.e. her childhood, Kate freaks out and quits. I'm sure she thought this is supposed to be about fixing Jon not me! Kate? Addressing one's childhood is one of the first things a good therapist will tackle. If you don't have unresolved childhood issues what are you so darn scared of?

The big meeting/therapy session w/Dr. Phil is the same one Jon described as being how to "protect the brand" (he wanted no part of it) and as more of this story comes out it's getting quite interesting.
Kate said she was upset about Jon's behavior and that the marriage was already over by this time, yet she was discussing with Phil and Robin "the best way to handle a divorce involving children while in the public eye"; ie: maintain the "brand". Interesting. Kate just verified what Jon said over a year ago about the Dr. Phil counseling session being about maintaining the "brand" was true. IIRC, Jon also said Dr. Phil wanted this meeting to be televised.

I agree, HC. I don't think TLC is footing the bill for Kate except for when they're filming. IMO, she's writing off his fees as a business expense on her taxes! What a waste! It does bring up the question of why she uses him for simple trips like this court testimony in a small town or the trip to the Derby. The only reasoning that makes any sense to me is that Kate's so insecure, inept, and incompetent that she can't handle even the simplest of appearances on her own after this many years of being in front of cameras and being exposed to situations just like this and she can't function without him and how pitiful is that!?! She's hopeless.

By the way as long as the subject is Jon, I wanted to remark about this story of him suing his brother for selling stories. It didn't really get that much attention and I never got around to posting about it and I sort of forgot about it, but maybe it's more of an important story than I originally thought.
I think the reason the sheeple don't want to acknowledge this story or they want to spin it as Jon is trying to get attention.
But I think they don't want this story around because, if true, it's proof Jon wasn't necessarily the one leaking stories. Just because it's something only "Jon" would know about, doesn't mean someone in his inner circle, someone he would trust as much as you would trust your OWN BROTHER, wasn't going behind his back leaking things. He was always blamed for leaks, even implied by Kate. There are a hundred ways a story could link and Jon is just one of many possible ways.

I have wondered for a while now if perhaps he was savvy enough to have his contract written to include some percentage of the TLC profit of the Kate franchise. Midnight Madness: you know how I know that "aunt of a TLC producer" story is bunk? Ratings DO matter. A lot. TLC is a business, and when ratings are down consistently, as they are with Kate's show, that means advertisers are dropping like flies. THAT means revenues are down. That means her show is too expensive and risky to produce.
The network can get out of the production schedule/contract anytime, it's the "star" who cannot. Kate is not some sort of sacred cow--her ratings are awful and have been sinking for a while. TLC might want to do a yearly special on the kids, but I can't see them wanting to continue this expensive show with little audience intersest much longer. It doesn't make financial sense.
If you are following Kate on Twitter, DON'T. I have to agree and have mixed feelings about the blogs and myself for keeping this woman relevant. Eventually, TLC will make the business decision that her demands and cost are not worth it.
TLC totally DISRESPECTS women. Kate is the worst role model EVER for motherhood.

Actually if I'm calculating this right, in the Ratings thread from last week someone here posted Kate's tweet about getting the house in order on May 3, 2011 11:17 PM, as a tweet "20 minutes ago" which was Pacific Time. So that would have actually been about 2AM EST. Indeed, May 4th. She also said she was going to be leaving in the next few days....If she were leaving Wednesday, why didn't she just say I'm leaving tomorrow?
Anyway this really doesn't matter to me. There are far bigger things she has lied about than this. Heck maybe she didn't want to give a play-by-play of where she was so as not to tip off the paps....nah, that can't be it, this is Kate.

Gag me, if I'm not mistaken the twitter-twatter timestamp is set to whatever your local time is.
So for me, it would have certainly read May 3rd, as it was only the evening for me. But for Kate, it was the early morning hours of May 4th. She even says she's about to go to bed, corroborating that it was late in the evening. Saying you are off in the "next few days" when you in fact left the very next day is not exactly the same thing.
Actually in all seriousness, I don't think she wanted to tip off everyone about how much she was screwing around hither and yon and not with her kids--fair enough. This is silly though. Kate has lied about far bigger things. Vow renewals anyone?

As far as the flowers thing I don't know I may be in the minority but I think I would be a little creeped out some stranger gave me flowers then wanted my picture. This wasn't Chris whom Kate knows, it was some random Pap. Of course in general I think paparazzi are creepy and have stalked these kids, and I think it's one of the worst things about this whole mess Kate has exposed her kids to, other than pissing away all their money.

A person I know is including me in the acknowledgements of his latest book. Frankly, it is NOT a book I choose to be associated with on any level. I find it repugnant material.
So, when he told me this I said Thank you for the thought, but I must decline. I can't imagine walking off in a rude huff over it. "Thank you but no" works.

I think Kate's tweet times depend on what time zone your personal twitter account is set to. I share the same time zone (Eastern) as Kate. Her tweets that show up as May 3 to someone are listed as May 4 on mine because they took place after midnight (actually after 1am).
As of May 4th the next evening at 8:47pm she claimed she didn't "know yet" because she was "disorganized in the packing world this time." (She was asked about her hat but it seems she wasn't packed yet?)

Regarding the Courier-Journal interview; It's true, she's got issues in the intelligence area. I watched two of them, Erin Andrews and Katie Irene.
Hookay Katie.......They're going to ask about three or so things. Then they'll hustle you off. Two of those things will be the hat and the derby.
Erin: (Hat) Got the hat here in Louisville. (Derby) Read the story on the jockey...amazing story of courage...that's my allegience.
Kate: (Hat) No idea where this hat came from.
(Derby) Eight is my number. This led to some confusion as to the significance of number eight, then apparently somebody off camera clued in the interviewer as to the meaning of eight. Then the interviewer took the easy way out and asked if the (eight) kids were going to watch the Derby and the lump of clay gave the same answer as the hat. I don't know if they'll watch.
No plug for the hat store...and I'm guessing it's either a freebie or loaner. The line about not knowing if the eight were watching is a huge tell she didn't speak to them while in Louisville.
I always wondered how so many could question Katie's brain power when she makes all that money. I've been converted. She's not bright.
The attrocity of a dress (prom dress for an 18 year old) is worth $370 and is featured in that collection. In my opinion she only wore it because it had to be free, there are much better choices of dresses out there, don't know why she can't go to the mall and get something at Black and White, Michelle Obama did and looked 10000 times more appropriate. yuck

Oh, yes, I totally agree with you. I thought it was bunk, too, but then I thought back to all of the times when we thought she was done, only to have her emerge as a Phoenix out of the ashes. I can't imagine TLC "loving" her. Certainly they love the money she brings in, but to say that ratings don't matter is bunk. They do matter. However, from the post it sounded like even if the show were canceled, they would find a place for her on another show because they still feel they can get some usage out of her (her "popularity" via Tweets, Google, etc.) because she still is relevant.
I think the mere fact that TLC moved the new episodes to 10 p.m. is revealing they are not that invested in her anymore. She's delusional if she thinks they will spend big bucks on her and flying a crew to film expensive vacations when the ratings are down. Even some sheeple have commented that they are tired of the field trips and miss the day-to-day stuff. I agree. I used to watch. Problem is, Kate commands so much of the screen time and she's so bad, that it doesn't matter what the kids do or say. In fact, the kids are difficult to watch with all their squirming and jibberish. The show just plain stinks.
Maybe Steve is showing some irritation with her or just doesn't give a whip because it's just about over anyway as far as not intervening with the paps. I bet he goes back to his family once it's all over. This excuse of him and his famiy being friends doesn't wash anymore. Where was his family in New Zealand? I mean, TLC didn't even hide it that his family, particularly his wife who is from New Zealand, didn't even accompany him on the trip. And that whole meeting with his parents was just bizarre.

If K8 isn't brining in the viewers the advertisers aren't making money. If the advertisers aren't making money they are going to pull their advertising and put it in a more profitable show. As far as the remark about her twittering buddies, 11K isn't all that many (Jon has close to 70K. If all the "haters" that follow K8 just for the laughs were to unfollow, her numbers would drop dramatically. Who know how many accounts different sheeple have created to inflate her numbers. She only tweets to the same goup of a dozen or so folks. Nope, TLC aunt, wife of a pap, etc. and so on are all people who want to stir the pot and create gossip....Oh, yes they are!

LOL! I hadn't caught that Carrie Underwood was wearing the same dress as Kate's Barnstable Brown Bash dress in a lighter color. I went back and looked at the pix and Shanola Hampton (whoever she is) is also wearing it in a slightly different light color. Most of the dresses pictured would be inappropriate for a woman of Kate's age, but there were a couple - the simple black floor length gown worn by Sansone, and the pink floor length gown worn by Vanna White would have both been age appropriate, occasion appropriate and lovely on Kate. She's not a physically unattractive woman when dressed and made up properly. NONE of the dresses pictured there, though, would have been appropriate attire for the actual Derby.
Oddly - Kate Walsh was wearing shoes very similar to Kate's black strappy numbers. On her they looked great, paired with a simple white dress with a black belt and a black hat. Too bad Kate G. couldn't manage a similar look.
Kate's tweet today about the sextuplets was just another reminder of how thoughtless she is! Firstly, she should never had made those 'sediments' public, just like her book, 'I Just Want You To Know'. Is there NOTHING private in her life? (Except the true nature of her relationship with Steve.)

Notice how Kate instantly is annoyed when the first interviewer clearly has NO IDEA why Kate bet on horse #8. Someone in the background apparently was trying to clue the interviewer in, but she didn't get it. Another interviewer then graciously stepped in and asked if the kids were watching it (maybe trying to help the first interviewer save face?)

She loves being a mom. Right. She just has to stick that in there. Who walks around saying that every time they speak. We all love our kids and love being a mom, but we don't try to shout it from the rooftops, we quietly and consistently live it. We treat our kids like the treasures they are -- not for what they can do for us.

When the interviewer calls over for Erin Andrews, Erin walks over with a big smile and politely greets the interviewer with a big "Hey, how are you? Nice to see you".
For Khate's interview, Khate strolls over, already bored, and does not greet the person at all. She just stands and waits for a question and her first word is “Um...."
When asked where she got her Derby hat, Erin Andrews gives the name of the store there in Louisville and say they were great, etc. That was nice and she was prepared.
When asked about her hat, Khate acts completely disinterested as if the interviewer is talking about her last root canal, and Khate replies "local", but she does not know where. It’s hard to hear that part of it, but I think the interviewer asks her if she got the hat there in Louisville and Khate says yes, but, Khate couldn’t be bothered to mention the store to thank them. She simply could not care less.
Erin is full of enthusiasm and energy. She seems like a genuinely nice person, and seems sincerely happy to be there having a good time. She mentions that she’s there with girl friends having a girls’ weekend, enjoying all the activities.
Khate appears very tired, bored, uninterested. She's so inarticulate, can only say "amazing” “exciting” and “um”, just like in that other Derby interview that was linked here over the weekend. First of all, she seems to be searching for the words in her head and that’s all she can come up with because she’s lying. Then, there is the BIG tell that when she’s saying "amazing....exciting", she is actually shaking her head back and forth "No". You don’t have to be a body language expert to realize that she is in addition to her terrible mood, she is totally lying.
Honestly, (to use one of her favorite words, lol), this interview and her other one at the Derby are the worst I have ever seen. She truly seems so unhappy that she simply cannot fake it any longer. I can’t even understand why she bothered to even go there. I had mentioned in another post the other day that I saw tons of Derby photos over the weekend and many shots were of groups of girlfriends in their hats at the Derby, having fun. But, there Khate was all alone except for boobyguard purse boy. I wonder if she ran into Erin and tried to hang out with her group of friends.
Really, if I didn’t think she was such a mean, nasty person, I would finally feel sorry for her at this point. All I can say is that I am very good at reading people and I think that in these two interviews I have seen a different Khate. She seems extremely unhappy, depressed really. Actually, I’ve got the word – Defeated. Yes, that’s it, defeated. I think she knows it’s over, I really do.

Moving on (and I hope you will too), just read that Bristol Palin is getting a reality show on Bio and get this; she and her son are moving in with the Massey brothers in LA.
Bio calls her America's most famous single mom. Pass the scepter, Kate. There's a new queen in town (a much younger one too, who by all appearances, is getting nipped and tucked while she's still a teenager. Yeah, she know how to play the game already)
Tucker's Mom, you said you had no idea why I posted the video...I'm probably being overly sensitive. I like/enjoy all the posters here (including the ones I sometimes disagree with), and, yes, I'll move on. Wish Bristol hadn't had that work done...she's much too young, and I loved her fresh, wholesome look. She does look beautiful, though, and I hope she'll stop now before she goes too far. I think Kate is physically a beautiful woman, but she's not going to be if she continues with all the tanning, botox, and plastic surgery. She needs to stop now too.

When one has to keep making the same declaration over and over again it means that the person is trying to convince himself/herself that it's true. In Kate's case, we don't believe it, and neither does she.
..at the end of the tape of the interview, linked above...Kate says, after being asked if the kids will be watching, and she says she doesn't really know... she then says.. "they are just jealous that they are not here"...I have noticed she often says, they are jellus to not be where she is... is that a narcissistic thing? My response would be in that kind of situation.. " My kids really wished they could have been here"...but she always says they are jellus...is that because she sees them as extensions of herself, and what ever she is feeling, they must be feeling that also?
I ask, because I knew someone once, who firmly believed that when something happened, her reaction to that event, was the only reaction, and anyone else in that same situation would feel just like she did...So if kate was left behind, she would feel jellus, so of course her kids must feel jellus...

Kate also mentions a little too much how much the kids LOVED this and LOVED that and LOVED what she did for them they were so happy, etc., etc. She is also over-compensating big time. Kate? Kids do not always love everything, nor are they always happy, and it doesn't mean you are a bad mother.
The kids love and adore things so much so often it's just not credible anymore.

I'd take that with the proverbial grain of salt. It was the P Wives (or one of the many other names the person uses) who posted it, and credibility there has been called into question.
It's difficult to tell when Kate has been nipping because she always appears a bit befuddled (good PA Dutch word!).
JudyK and Tucker's Mom - I hope neither of you mind me commenting on the issue. I was confused and I scrolled back. I think it has something to do with Judy posting a comment that there was that airport video on Radar Online. Then, Tucker's Mom looked for it and came back and said it was no big deal, didn't know why Judy even bothered mentioning it.
Actually, thank you for posting about it Judy, because I was not aware of the Radar Online airport video and I did find it interesting, as did several others, apparently.

Yes this is definitely my experience. I believe this would be related to their lack of empathy. Because they have no empathy, they cannot put themselves in the shoes of another person and try to understand where they are coming from. They just can't understand a different perspective. Kate fits this perfectly. She expects the kids to love everything she does, she doesn't understand when they would want to do something she wouldn't--like eat bugs or go camping. In fact many times she has said things like "How can you like that?" or "How can you do that, God bless ya child" or things to that effect.
An example from my own experiences would be when my narcissist hired a friend to video her child's school project, a "news cast". It was just sort of a little open house, it wasn't anything big. The videographer was running a little late, traffic or whatever it was. He certainly called and said he was coming and when. He ended up being about 10 minutes late. It really wasn't a big deal, we waited for him since we knew he was on his way. The kids were fine, the teacher wasn't even mad.
Oh, but to the narcissist? She paced, she stomped, she made phone calls, she scowled, she demanded to know why "no one is appreciating the urgency here!" over and over.
She could not understand why people would be calm in a situation like this, why it wouldn't get to us. She couldn't understand our perspective that there was nothing we could do and this wasn't a big deal. She couldn't understand that we didn't want to throw a fit like a child in front of a fifth grader and his class.
And naturally later she bit her friend's head off.

Tonight, I had such a heart wrenching come to Jesus moment that totally tugged at my heart. Yeah, I've been busting on Kate Gosselin for the past week and rightfully so. I detest this woman and all she has done to her children.
In the midst of my snarking and yes, I do go overboard some times, out of the blue comes a message from someone called "tiredmommyof4" on Kates twitter account. Her message, brief as it was somehow resonated with me and actually took me from my typical snark mode to reading again what she had to say. Here was a mom of 4 kids, her moniker "tiredmommyof4" spoke volumes and after responding to her, I had a gut feeling that this was truly a real mom who gives all and complains least and may actually be tired.
She responded politely and shared briefly her challenges but shared mostly, her feelings of love for her kids, one particularly who has special needs but nonetheless, is special to her.
This brief exchange stopped me in my tracks and I felt the utmost compassion for this tired mommy of 4 who has earned her stripes and complains not but gives all she can to 4 children who will ultimately love her for the "Mommy" she is.
She is the picture of what "Moms" are and what "Moms" can be. All the accolades that are given to Kate, the mother of 8 but the MOM to none are hollow. This tiredmommyof4 is representative of what real MOMS are and she came out of the blue tonight with a soft spoken message but a hard hitting lesson of what true love for a child is. My hats off to her.

I've been reading you on twitter, and I did criticize Kate over there a LOT when she first got on, but when I stopped, it felt really good.
Anyway, on a different (but related) topic...I never watch TLC at ALL, but earky this evening they had on a special about the McCoughey (sp?) sextuplets, who turned 13 last November. Remember them? From Iowa? There's one older sister. Anyway, they irritated me a bit back in the day with all their "GOD DID THIS" talk (medicine did that), but they were an honest, down-to-earth family. They never did episodes or seasons. There were a few shows when they were little, they were on some magazine covers, and that was it.
The difference in the two moms couldn't be more stark. The McCoughey sextuplets and their older sister live a quiet life in Iowa, they aren't wealthy, but everyone is doing well. Watching them, it really struck me how bizarre Kate's life is comparatively speaking.
But seriously, kids need to learn that when it's other people's birthday, it's their day. You don't get gifts because it's not "fair". Your birthday will come and then it will be your turn. But you also don't give one sibling three parties and the other just one.

Why, because she actually spent maybe three hours with her kids this afternoon and evening, and had dinner, birthday cake, and presents? Big deal! I don't know if narcissists are prone to stomach ulcers, but they can give others who have to deal with them stomach aches, migraines, nightmares, and numerous other ailments.

The comment about possible cancellation notice originally came from a University of Maryland radio station (I forgot the call letters of the station).
Someone on their radio said an announcement would be coming this week about the show being cancelled.
A blogger here posted somthing like "did anyone else hear this?"
I commented that "if this rumor is true it would be great" or something like that.
So as far as I know, this is one of those "he said, she said, I heard" kind of things.
The radio station is real, I checked it out online but saw nothing on their radio webpage about Kart's show at all.

I'm probably being nit picky but why three gifts each for the twins? I don't recall ever seeing or hearing her do this before, so why start now. Just sounds a little fishy to me.
I agree Admin. If Kate wants to be fair, she should limit parties to one for the twins and one for the sextuplets. Moreover, she wouldn't have to feel guilty about celebrating the sextuplet's birthday.
Kate's only making it worse by giving the twins gifts as well. Won't the sextuplets be expecting gifts on the twins' birthday now?
Kate should just try doing a special activity with her twins during the filmed birthday, since she's getting it for free anyway. It's all fake anyway. Both Kate and the twins already know it. At least that's what I would do if I was a grifter on a reality tv show.

Hear hear!!! Well said. Your comments are spot on - being a teen mother has brought Bristol fame and money. Made out like a bandit - no hardship for her or the baby.
I fear she is taking up the 'challenge' to turn her 15 minutes of fame into a career.
Why should young girls avoid getting pregnant? It worked out great for Bristol and others on Teen Mom shows, right? Such a sad shame that American girls are choosing such a destructive path for themselves and their innocent children.
For every Bristol who makes money and "succeeds", there are 10s of thousands for whom teen motherhood leads directly to a life of poverty and little chance of success for mom or child.
The thing is the twins will always have to deal with having a six-pack for younger siblings and all the attention they get.
On the flip side, it isn't easy to be one of the sextuplets either. Some of them clearly HATE the attention of it, Collin for one.
I think Kate is conscious on an elementery level that because of the six Mady and Cara are not getting the attention or life they would have. But the way to address that is to carve out special time for them, not to try to buy away any ill feelings with gifts.
Buying a child a gift because they are feeling gipped really completely avoids the real issue, and doesn't teach them anything about how to deal with life's little hiccups of unfairness. As usual, lazy parenting. Just shut them up with a gift. As usual, Kate trying to make herself seem so loving and attentive to the twins, and just makes herself look worse.
Will the Tups get gifts on the twins' birthday? Excuse me but that is THEIR DAY.

I didn't realize to what extent, until she was no longer in my life. and it took a while for me to re-couperate.. those kids are going to need the power of a higher Authroity to make it out unscathed!!! on an interesting sidebar, there are many similarities between kate and my "friend", from how she holds her hands with those manicured nails and flips her hair, to the teeth, and other mannerisms... its almost freaky....

Some of them do hate the attention, but do you think they hate the trips and perks that go with it? Can they separate the two? It seems that their sense of entitlement continues to grow. I'm not so sure I would called them "spoiled," but they do know that they are different from their peers because all they have to do is ask, and it shall be given. I remember when Kate asked Mady where she wants to go (for a mother-daughter trip). Mady said, "San Diego." Kate said, "SOLD!" It was hers for the asking, and off they went. What parent does that?
What is going to happen when they become the Gosselins who used to be famous? I would believe that the entitlement will follow them into adolescence. It's all they have ever known.

NOTHING like how things REALLY transpire. I am sooooo sure the gift opening "ceremony", prayer and all, (rolling eyes) brought tears to her eyes...more like the kids had tears, it was total pandemonia, kids "melting down", her screaming, threatening, telling them to thank her.... But when she tweets, ...it's sunshine and lollipops, just like her "recapping" on the couch.

Yeah, one year they were taken to NYC to American Girl, and another year, they went out to dinner with their parents, were kept up too late, and were scolded by Kate for being cranky. Contrast the extravaganza every year for the tups birthdays. Kate doesn't seem to understand that she's setting the kids up for a lifetime of sibling rivalry and resentment, "3 gifts" notwithstanding.
I have an acquaintance with 2 children. When the older, a daughter, was 7, a much desired son was born. Suddenly, everything became about the son. DD was forced to quit her riding lessons and dance class, which she loved and was good at, because "it's too much trouble with the baby". It became "no, I can't tuck you in, I have to feed the baby", and "no, I can't read with you before bed, the baby needs me". As the children got older it was "no, you can't have a party for your Confirmation, it's too close to ______ birthday" and "we can't come to your school concert, ________ has a ball game". Fast forward to the present. DD is now 23 and they haven't seen her in 4 years. She won a full tuition scholarship to a local school but opted to live in her car (which she paid for with part-time jobs) rather than stay with her parents. DS is a spoiled, rude, entitled brat and a bully who is in constant trouble in school and in the neighborhood, but to his parents, he can do no wrong. Kate is setting up the same scenario in her family. She's been telling those twins, by her words and her actions, that they are no longer relevant and important to her, since they were 3 1/2. Mady calls her out on it and gets labeled a b^&%h, a c#@t, a troll, a brat, and the "bad" twin. Cara disappears into the woodwork. Neither will have a healthy loving relationship with her mother as an adult.

No class. That about sums it up. Jon was right when he said she had no clothes sense. I think back in the show's hey day and when Kate lost all the weight, she must have had a stylist and looked good in her tasteful Ann Taylor wardrobe. But since the boob job, it's been all about exposing the girls. I think ol' Steve likes the slutty look since he advised her on the boob job.
Interesting in OK mag about her and Steve together sipping coffee alone and walking arm in arm to the entertainment. She never engages with anyone. Just hangs with Steve.
Seems to me the b'day party episode would be a fitting way to end the show. I can't imagine this continuing for much longer. Kate Gosselin has no charm, no talent, and TLC has given her every opportunity to be the type of celebrity that people would embrace; instead, her small circle consists of teen girls and frustrated housewives who envy her lifestyle. Not what advertisers nor TLC had in mind.

She looked clueless, but what else is new? I suspect the paps were tipped off by TLC/PR and that first paps with the flowers was there under the direction of TLC/PR.
I finally broke down and clicked on the link for the Derby interview where she is exclaims the kids are jellus.
I was astounded by how bored, arrogant and annoyed she was at having to stand for that tiny interview. She kept trying to walk away.
I have not watched this woman do anything or speak for several years now. IS SHE PHYSICALLY INCAPABLE OF MAKING ANY EYE CONTACT WITH ANOTHER HUMAN? she sure couldnt do it in this interview. she looked up, over and around like there was a twitch she was trying to mask, but only glanced briefly at the interviewer. Does she not comprehend that this demeanor gives her the appearance of complete arrogance and that is WHY the kids' show is failing?
And her accent seems to have gotten so much worse. With all the professional media assistance she seems to have had for the past 6 years, you would think she would have a semi gracious demeanor and be a bit, just a bit, well spoken.
Looking at Kate's tweets about the kids' birthday are all about HER in a circular way. Not one thank you to the fans for all the HB greetings. Not one acknowledgement of the videos the tweens made for the kids. Nothing. Just "they screamed' of course because of their gifts from mommy dearest. Even a reference to the NICU, you know, where she spent 32 years of bed rest. LOL One fan did ask if the twins still had problems with the amount of attention the tups get, of course, she said no. They are kids, and of course they will feel slighted. Who is she kidding. She probably did give them 3 gifts or a gift, at least, to try and soothe their feelings. Which, I agree, ADMIN, I think it is wrong to do that. The tups still have one more party, she said the other day, with friends, which will be filmed. Wonder if it will be at the public park again, so she can complain about the paps. Probably, I am sure she doesn't want the parents to come to the mcmansion. Which was really telling, last year. That big back yard is perfect for a party. Oh forgot, it will be filmed...

I didn't realize to what extent, until she was no longer in my life. and it took a while for me to re-couperate.. those kids are going to need the power of a higher Authroity to make it out unscathed!!! on an interesting sidebar, there are many similarities between kate and my "friend", from how she holds her hands with those manicured nails and flips her hair, to the teeth, and other mannerisms... its almost freaky....

I know what you mean about the mannerisms. My mother-in-law is a narcissist and she carries herself the exact same way Kate does. Nose in the air. Looking around, but never looking anyone in the eye. An air of entitlement to them.
You are also correct about the kids getting out unscathed. A lot of damage is already done and will continue to be. It will likely take many years for them to completely cut their mother out of their life, deal with their anger/hurt, and finally move on. It took my husband until he was in his early 40's before he finally cut off all communication with his mother. It's sad that it has to be this way, but it really is the only way to deal with a narcissist - to NOT deal with them. They are too toxic to allow them to remain in your life.

Actually, the kids should only have 2 birthdays. One with Kate and one with Jon. Cause, we all know that Kate would never invite Jon, to the house(she might claim he stole something), let a lone, to any birthday party of the kids. And yes, 3 birthdays is over the top, and giving presents to older children is also over the top. Kate is tryin to show up Jon. Lavish parties, buying love of the kids, causing jealousy among the kids, making Dad feel bad cause he can not afford lavish gifts or parties, Kate is buying her kids with their money. And Sheeple think this is normal and OK. It's NOT! Normal people don't get 3 parties or give older kids gifts on someone elses birthday(unless the child is say one year older and is under 3), or show up the other parent, that see Dad has no money or not enough money to take care of you, so the kids won't get the idea of moving in later with Dad. Kate is playing a mean game with her kids. A power struggle in the making. A choice no child should have to make: live with me and you get lavish gifts and parties, trips, etc, live with Dad and you get love and caring, normal life but no lavish parties and gifts. I feel sorry for the kids. Kate is using them, not for just filming, but a personal revenge against Jon. It's: see I can do this and that, give them this and that and cause you divorced me, you can't give them nothing. If Kate could(and it was legal) she would stomp Jon out of existence, she would stomp everyone who did not see things her way out of existence. Last year, Mady did say "we only got one party, but they get 3". I am sure they get something. But it surely is NOT filmed now, no reference at all to their BD. It really makes me feel sad for them.
Your story about your acquaintance really hits home with me. I have 8 siblings. (See Kate, big families CAN make it without a reality show) ONE Of my brothers was the fav, still is. He was the last, the' baby'. Do you know, we are all in our late 50's and 60's now and it STILL has an effect on us? When planning a family get together, if lil Bro is even slightly displeased with the arrangements, the rest of us are expected to rearrange OUR schedules to match his. LOL We have matured, but this is STILL a sticking point with us. And he is the total brat of the family. This treatment affected HIM as well, and certainly not in a good way. Frankly, though, I think it made me a better parent, I never once showed favoritism to any of mine. They ALL think I love them the most. LOL
Not to belabor the point but the three gifts to Mady and Cara at first blush might not seem like a big deal, but if you think about it, is really one of Kate's worst parenting mistakes ever.
She accomplished many things. She is REWARDING Mady and Cara for her jealousy. She is REWARDING negative behavior. She is AVOIDING the real issue, their jealousy. Instead of talking about the root of the problem with them and working through it, she rewarded it! She is BUYING off good behavior. She is not teaching these children that when it is someone else's special day, it's someone else's special day and it's NOT about you. And in fact, you should pitch in and help make someone's day special, not wallow in your own jealousy until someone shuts you up with a gift. But I suppose a narcissist doesn't understand that, that a birthday is not about you, it is about the birthday boy or girl. Kate is, shudder, teaching these kids to be narcissists.

And I have to chime in with No regrets, I was 21 when my little brother was born (product of my dad's 3rd marriage). Even now my older brother and I complain about how that kid gets everything handed to him. Parents pay for everything; school, car, clothes, new computer EVERY year, any new gadget that comes out - you get the idea. I am 42 years old and it still pisses me off. *sigh*
Nothing new here though, Khate is still screwing up her kids lives - even when she thinks she's being 'nice'.
ADMIN, well said. EXACTLY the point. I really think Jon and Kate started this jealousy the twins have. In one couch interview, they both said of the tups birth, "What have done to the twins?" by having these 6 babies. Sure, the entire attention HAD been on the twins, but why even say that out loud? I am sure this was said or conveyed to the twins. Instead of trying to tell the twins what a blessing that they now have 6 siblings. How lucky, etc. You, hopefully, get my meaning.
They both made a huge deal of the twins being allowed to demand they not come in their room etc. The twins DID deserve privacy, but that is one thing I did notice, the "poor twins" mentality was really pushed. Of course, being kids, they are going to run with that. Mady more so than Cara.

That was me who tried calling. I called IMMEDIATELY after it was reported they had just said that about Kate's show. The program schedule showed a program airing right then, still no answer. I tried the very next day when BOTH of the channels they had had programs on that very minute, music and talk on both, still NO answer. Just strange. LOL You would think as a program was airing that minute that someone had to be there? Oh well, I don't know how they operate.
Things I Don't Believe:
I don't believe the twins got gifts on the tup's birthday. Just said on twitter to make her look good.
I don't believe she drinks. I think tipping back some wine from time to time would actually do her some good--it might unlodge that huge stick in her ass just a tiny bit.
I don't believe Steve is interested in her romantically, physically, or in any other way except as a means to his TLC paycheck for babysitting her.
I don't believe TLC is going to continue airing her show much longer. Simple economics.
I don't believe she has handled the money well at all and within two years (or less) after the show's cancellation, she'll be in fairly dire straights. That's a shame, since if she had lived a fairly modest life, she could have lived on the interest for quite some time.
I don't believe Twist of Kate will ever see the light of day.
My ex and I had a horrible marriage, but since divorcing 24 years ago, we have celebrated our 2 sons' birthdays together every year.
After the divorce, we also attended their parent-teacher conferences together, as well as their baseball and soccer games and band concerts together. My 2nd husband accompanied us to all of these events. We were the Three Stooges to be sure, and teachers and coaches were amazed (nobody was more amazed and grateful than me).
Peace is a wonderful gift to give your children. And it doesn't cost a thing.
The bigger fit they throw, the more presents they will get! Awesome parenting there.

The radio station was a college station. When I was in college I 'worked' for the station and it was barely staffed, had no office, and ran by the seat of it's pants. I'm not surprised there was no answer. I am amazed that they had a phone!
As for the flowers handed to Kate: I had the same feeling that they were somehow connected to TLC or Kate's PR firm and that she and Steve were expecting them. Either way, her behavior was completely rude for not saying thank you, but that's Kate; she feels she's above the common folk and shouldn't have to be courteous and polite or treat others with respect. She treated the flower situation the same way she did the guide in NZ by refusing to use his name. She shows no respect for others and she's teaching her kids to do the same.

Maybe he bought the flowers from the airport flower cart for any celebrity he might run into, and it happened to be Kate.
I wouldn't have been creeped out by the flowers. I would have been surprised, but not creeped out. I would have taken them, stopped and talked to the pap, looked him in the eye when I spoke to him, and thanked him for being so nice, and told him that I wished his wife, mother, or whatever a Happy Mother's Day. Judging from Erin Andrews' interview clip, I bet she would have done the same. She greeted the interviewer, said that it was good to see her, and actually looked at her when she was speaking.
It never hurts to be nice to someone.

I don't think she is a whiz at money, or much of anything, for that matter. BUT she has ALWAYS been known as tightwad and very stingy with her own money. I really think Kate has squirreled away every cent she possibly can. I really believe in this area, she probably has gone to an expert/experts about investing.
By the way, did anyone notice the tweet from Jon yesterday? He thanked people for the birthday wishes for the tups, then said happy birthday to everyone else whose birthday was that day.

Like I said before, I travel through Reagan airport 2 to 3 times a month, and have never ever seen a pap. Some poster said that paps were stationed at baggage claim to shoot any celebs coming from the derby. Doesn't make sense and that was not baggage claim where the pap was talking to Kate because they were going down the escalator to baggage claim. The pap was there waiting after they exited the secure area from the gates. He had to have known what their flight was because different airlines are located at different terminals. It was a set-up.

COURT? Traffic court for a speeding ticket or family court to get permission for something? If Family Court, my best guess is Kate wants to take the kids out of school early to film somewhere and once again Jon said NO so they had to go to court. Wonder how long it will be before something gets leaks to the media? Or we could just wait until she tweets about it.

No cover of magazines celebrating the twins 7th b'day- That in itself is very telling. No one invited her to a talk show to discuss the b'days either and how the kids are doing. It's a sign that the interest has died down immensely.
Even the McCoughy's (sp?) would get a yearly cover update on their b'days (McCalls or Family Circle, can't remember which one).

That was me who tried calling. I called IMMEDIATELY after it was reported they had just said that about Kate's show. The program schedule showed a program airing right then, still no answer. I tried the very next day when BOTH of the channels they had had programs on that very minute, music and talk on both, still NO answer. Just strange. LOL You would think as a program was airing that minute that someone had to be there? Oh well, I don't know how they operate.

If it's a 1 person studio, they can't answer the phone and run the program at the same time unless it's a call-in show. Sometimes there is a 2nd person for technical stuff while the DJ
or program person is on the air.
I called and called and called a small radio station in Illinois in the middle of the night once because the same awful song played over and over and over again. It went on for almost an hour. I thought I would "help" them by telling them their autoplay gizmo was out of whack. Not one of my calls was answered. So sometimes there is nobody in the studio and it's run on autopilot.

So, yes, maybe it was about that suit over the therapist bill. I sure hope it was incurred prior to the filing of their divorce complaint, that way they are both responsible regardless of what the bill is for. If so, it's a marital debt and should have been taken care of in the divorce proceedings almost two years ago.

I remember first watching Ab-Fab when my oldest was still a baby and trying not to laugh out loud when watching the show and giving him his night time feeding (and waking him up) Now he watches them with me (he's 18).
For the two older girls, I have to think that they are in the process of coming of age, if you know what I mean. (I want to be delicate and discrete here).
My relationship with my own mom at that age was pretty rocky. I was, after all (LOL) 'almost a woman' and I really felt I knew it all.
Naturally, the teenage certainty, fueled by hormones, that I was all-knowing just increased during my teenage years and mom and I were butting heads every single day.
It was a hard time that had lasting effects until she passed away in 2002. To this day I feel very conflicted about our relationship.
I assume that Kart's relationship with the twins behind the scenes is much more combative than we see on film. I applaud the girls for refusing to participate, i.e. the one on the couch with her arms folded, back turned to the camera and refusing to speak. I worry what punishment she receives for that natural and appropriate rebellion.
I also wonder if the girls know they can refuse to be filmed. However they do it, they DON'T have to participate. I wonder if they know they can retain an attorney on their own even at their age. I don't know how it would work (ADMIN, CAN YOU CHIME IN HERE IN GENERAL TERMS?) but certainly in their position I would just refuse to come out of my room.
I was such a badass that I ran away from home at age 10 because my mom kept serving me the stuffed green pepper I refused for dinner. We battled that for breakfast and dinner the next night, and breakfast the third day before I went home with a friend who hid me in her room.
Unknown to me, the base MPs were called for a runaway... my dad was mucho pissed when I surfaced. But!!! In my favor, the MP told my mom, in front of me, "maybe you should throw away the green pepper". Can you imagine the smug look on MY face. Yep, well, my dad got involved and I couldn't sit down for a few days as the old saying goes. Back in the day, 'the belt' was the answer to many a problem.
I haven't eaten green peppers in the 50 years since. LOL - showed her, didn't I?! LOL
I have to hope, and actually think, that the adults in the girls' lives know what is happening at home and are providing support in the ways that they can.
Jon seems to be very good at providing them the privacy they need and I applaud him for that. I also assume that Jon and Ellen provide a stable environment for the kids.
As much as we all see on television, and what we know must be on the cutting room floor, I can't but help believe that there is much, much, much more we don't see. That is what is scary when thinking about the safety and happiness of the kids.
I agree with many posters here that Kart tries to manipulate the public (stating the obvious, huh? :-)... and the more folks respond to her pathetic twits the more she feels validated.
I vacilate between wanting to comment and taking time off from commenting in protest.
It's a dilemma that the public hasn't had to deal with in the past, before reality TV came around.

I worked on my college's radio station when I was in college. It's possible that most of their program is pre-recorded and no one is in the studio a good bit of the time. We would go in at odd hours, record the programming, and then set it up. We only did about an hour of live programming a day.
Didn't Jon file some sort of suit against Kate while she was in Australia? Breech of custody or something? In addition to the suit to stop her from taking the kids to Australia, I mean. I wonder if that's what the court date was.

Totally off topic of Kate, but on the issue of small radio stations, I heard Dan Rather tell a story about when he was an announcer at a radio station in Texas when he was a teenager. It was a religious station so they played lots of recordings of sermons. One day he put on a record of a sermon - a fire and brimstone one at that - and left the station to go get lunch. It was a small town so the station owner called around and found him and told him to get back to the station immediately. Turns out the record he played had started skipping and were repeating the words "Go to hell, go to hell, go to hell" over the air.

I admit that my kids have two celebrations, because we celebrate on their actual birthday by eating dinner at their favorite place and having a special dessert, then they have a birthday party with friends on the nearest weekend to their birthday. Sometimes they get 3 celebrations if their dad decides to do something, too.
The thing is, it's that way for ALL my kids' birthdays, not just one. And not even one of them is filmed for exploitation.

It's a borough in northeastern PA, Luzerne County, in the coal region. It's about an hour and a half from Reading. It's not anywhere near DC. She was there for a court appearance. Lying, yes; filming, no.

I thought it was pretty funny where they said the Police Chief, police officers and students from a career center were brought in to help with parking for the big crowd they expected. Turns out only 15 people stood outside.
Of course Steve was with her...he ALWAYS is, day and night, everywhere she goes. He wore his red tie and she her bright pink dress. He drove the SUV they left in. Read an article somewhere today about them being arm-in-arm at one of the Derby parties; they spent four nights together--could have left Saturday after the Derby in order to spend Mother's Day at home but instead spent an additional night together before leaving on Sunday and being photographed alone together (no entourage) at the Airport. Two years ago, they were seen holding hands by a NYC D.J.; they've been seen getting cozy on the beach by a respected editor; they've been seen getting cozy at a NYC concert (the one where she had her pic taken with Trump); there's a funny video out about Steve being Kate's lover; Steve is NEVER with his wife. And, frankly, I hope Dr. Phil gets involved in this, because both Jon and Kate saw him initially...not just Kate...and from what I remember his sympathy was with Jon. Also, Dr. Phil was a guest on The View one time when she was "co-hosting," and he basically just ignored her. I don't think he can stand her. She told him how much she admired him and without even looking at her, he said out of the side of his mouth, "Thank you," and ignored her for the rest of his time there.
Why wear black to the Kentucky Derby and Pink to court? Someone has their events mixed up.
I thought Kate said that the divorce decision came when she went to Bald Head Island...wasn't that later in the year, like in June? I would be more inclined to believe that Kate asked for marriage counseling expecting the psychologist to say, "Bad Jon! Bad, Bad Jon!". If the counseling in any way involved examining her ways of handling conflict in the marriage instead, I would expect Kate to react by saying that the counselor (and the bills) were Jon's, not hers.

It seems that it's an internet browser specific issue. I use Chrome and have never run into the posting problem - never, but people who use other browsers have reported running into it. Give Chrome a try - it's simple and fast. Others who were experiencing the problem suggested copying what you've written before you click to post the comment; that way you have it to paste in case you have to submit it again.
We've said many times that narcissists do not respond to therapy and usually won't even go. BUT one of the few times they will go is if they perceive it is to help someone ELSE, they are just doing a giant favor to help someone who needs massive help. They will never see "conjoint" therapy as a 50-50 thing, it's always the other person who needs it.
Such is exactly the case here, Kate told herself Jon was the one who needed help and she graciously agreed to come along to help HIM. Typical.
Figures the second the therapist actually tries to talk about Kate, i.e. her childhood, Kate freaks out and quits. I'm sure she thought this is supposed to be about fixing Jon not me! Kate? Addressing one's childhood is one of the first things a good therapist will tackle. If you don't have unresolved childhood issues what are you so darn scared of?
In March of 2009, Phil McGraw was no longer a practicing psychologist.Here is part of his Wikipedia entry:

So, for herself, Kate hired a therapist who was not actually a therapist, but an entertainer, when her marriage broke down; phony like everything else in this sad story.

I LOVE Absolutely Fabulous! My husband & I watched that show in the 90's, before it was cool, thank you very much! :) We taped every show & had AbFab marathons with our friends. Now that it's on Logo & we have a kid, we are like WHAT? How can she treat her daughter, Saffron, like that? It is still a kick ass show though. So so funny!!

The big meeting/therapy session w/Dr. Phil is the same one Jon described as being how to "protect the brand" (he wanted no part of it) and as more of this story comes out it's getting quite interesting.
Kate said she was upset about Jon's behavior and that the marriage was already over by this time, yet she was discussing with Phil and Robin "the best way to handle a divorce involving children while in the public eye"; ie: maintain the "brand". Interesting. Kate just verified what Jon said over a year ago about the Dr. Phil counseling session being about maintaining the "brand" was true. IIRC, Jon also said Dr. Phil wanted this meeting to be televised.
Someone told Dr. Lafair she'd be paid to go to LA and since Jon wasn't mentioned in this suit, who in the heck does Kate think told LaFair she was going to be paid?!? Was the Dr. Phil Show involved in this part of it and was Dr. LaFair supposed to appear w/Jon?

Her dress, although not street corner shor,t nor showing too much cleavage, wasn't exactly what I'd consider court testimony apparel. For Kate, though I guess she did pretty well in choosing that dress.

No matter how she tries to spin this, libel or not, the press she's getting from this suit isn't doing her ANY favors.

WHY even have him around anymore? She is not worth it anymore, is she? Is TLC footing this bill for Steve, or is Kate? It's gotta be Kate. I can't imagine TLC would keep Steve on after the huge loss in profit Kate is doing to them. Losing ad sponsors, losing viewers, losing her effing mind. IF Kate IS paying for Steve, I would damn well hope that she is paying for him out of her OWN pocket. She uses him solely for her, NOT the kids. And frankly, they need a "bodyguard", which he is not, more than Kate.

I agree, HC. I don't think TLC is footing the bill for Kate except for when they're filming. IMO, she's writing off his fees as a business expense on her taxes! What a waste! It does bring up the question of why she uses him for simple trips like this court testimony in a small town or the trip to the Derby. The only reasoning that makes any sense to me is that Kate's so insecure, inept, and incompetent that she can't handle even the simplest of appearances on her own after this many years of being in front of cameras and being exposed to situations just like this and she can't function without him and how pitiful is that!?! She's hopeless.
The big question is has she set up the "family business" separate from her own lofty pursuits and if she has not, then the kids would be paying for Steve's "services".
