Bananagrams

Here's wishing the kids a great seventh birthday party today, even though it has to be filmed.

Clear enough for ya, Kate?

I put this in the last post but it is worth repeating: in my Entertainment Weekly this week, they have a BullsEye about pop culture, things that hit the mark & things that were way off. Kate was WAY up in the right hand side in her feathered mess of a hat at the Kentucky Derby with the caption "You have 8 sets of eyes at home and you still left the house looking that way?"

I LOVE IT! Entertainment Weekly hate her. They won't re-cap her shows anymore, & they know entertainment! I had to laugh. Thought I'd share!

How many parties does this make? It seems like I read where she was prepping for a party for last night and then there was the one on their birthday and now this? No wonder Mady gets so bent out of shape.

And yeah, Kate and her 'I don't pay attention to other people, I don't care what they say', comments are pure crap. And she for sure reads here and the other non fan sites because her comments on Twitter are too specific to what is said. So she has no need or desire to answer? Ha! She does it everyday.

Michelle said...

Hopefully they're filming the 7th birthday as a way to wind up the series. I'm sure the kids will not be totally free from filming. I'd guess annual update specials or something, but I really think Kate's full-time gig is done. I saw a commercial for TLC Summer and even though Kate's back on in early June, she was not included in the promo. Cake Boss, Little Couple, Duggars - no Kate at all.

Tweet-le De Tweet-le DUMB said...

Kate tweeting that she was prepping for a party but didn't mention it was for last night. I think it's for today She also tweeted they had to film. Probably a party that's being filmed today.

That's why I posted this, just to reply to Kate's Krap in a not so subtle way!

My experience has been that if someone is constantly saying that they don't care what people think or say about them, they in fact do care, and a LOT. Notice that Jon really doesn't say things like that, and yet Kate does. All the time.

And in fact, I've noticed that here, we don't spend a lot of time, or really any time, trying to convince ourselves we don't care what the sheeple think. And yet over there, apparently they say that all day long about the "haterz." Hmm.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

By the way if someone didn't care, they wouldn't be posting pictures of banangrams with messages like "Kate Never Gives In."

I mean honestly, as Kate would say.

mamaK said...

what takes so long to prep? I mean, really! She's been preping for like 3 days. Its not like she's invited the school kids and is feeding everyone a 5 course meal! Last b-day they had a store bought cake at a park. That doesn't take a lot of prep!

PatK said...

I can only imagine the invitation "packet" the kids' friends receive for the filming/faux birthday party. I'm sure it includes a confidentiality agreement, permission slip for filming; list of acceptable gifts and the following list of rules:

1. No siblings allowed.

2. Must be accompanied by ONE parent only, whom shall NOT approach nor address Kate in any manner, and whose physical appearance must not upstage Kate's.

3. No cameras, cellphones or other recording devices.

4. Gifts of stuffed animals strictly forbidden. (Please refer to acceptable gifts list.)

5. Guests are not to look at or speak directly to the camera.

6. Any injured/crying children must be immediately whisked away from camera view.

7. Guests are strictly forbidden from attempting to approach/enter the house.

8. Mrs. Gosselin must be thanked by each invited child individually. Be prepared for a re-take, if necessary.

9. Please depart promptly when the gray-haired security man blows the whistle.

10. Do not expect a Thank-You Card.

"I'll bet most of the those who support Jon are either men of the same type, or women who have the same type of men in their lives. There are several aspects which go into being a real man.

Jon's uses everyone in his life. His supporters are no different. If he ever feels he no longer needs their support or feels their support is doing him more harm than good, he will turn on them & denounce them, as well. If that day ever comes, they will continue to make excuses for him in spite of his turning on them and denouncing them, and he will be laughing at them."

Confused? Classic Land of Denial stuff. Can't make this stuff up!

Whoa, projection much? See I don't consider myself a Jon "fan." I say what I like about his choices good and bad. A fan to me is someone who blindly worships, and that has never been the case for most if not all of us here. He is what he is, he lives his life, we comment on it, but I don't think most people here would say they are "fans." As far as I can tell he sort of has really toned down his interactions with people and I don't see any big outrage.

And yet when Kate stops tweeting for 12 hours all hell breaks loose with demands to her where she is and why she hasn't tweeted Tom, Dick or Harry. That's what scares me the most is that she is throwing her fans so many bones but then taking them back. She mind-f-cks with vulnerable people. I consider most obsessed fans vulnerable, I really do.

Dulcina said...

Som Cara and Mady made a bananagram and called their mother "Kate" ? I call bullshit.

Admin, I agree that the tween/tean fans are quite vulnerable.

******************

"Gives In" what?

Kate, no one likes your screeching prancing show anymore. What is for you to 'give in' about? Your children are socially and emotionally stunted; you dont want to 'give in'. You are an isolated, friendless, unkind, trampy looking woman; and you dont want to 'give in'. And you understand nothing. You comprehend nothing. You FEEL nothing, except rage. You have zero self awareness, no awareness of people including your family and offspring, and you can see nothing, nothing of the real world around you, past your nail polish. Don't 'give in' Kate. Never 'give in' until you are CERTAIN that your children are as damaged, as miserable, as angry, as useless, as barely human as you are. You are almost there now, and when you are CERTAIN, do it all again just to make sure.

Chingada said...

PatK - I loved your list! My opinion though, is that Kate would expect thank you cards from her guests!

AuntieAnn said...

I think that "Kate Never Gives Up" bananagram was a direct message to Jon in answer to the In Touch interview. I'm sensing a battle royal going on right now between them over the filming of the kids. When he was asked if he and Kate have a good relationship he said he couldn't discuss that. But "when they come off tv" sounds cryptic to me, as if he is working on it and the end is near.

~~~
PatK -- lol @your invitation. It's dead on!
If they show up. The last two years the filmed birthday parties for the six had a dismal showing. Kate in all her narcissistic glory chases away all their friends. I feel bad for them.
Do us all a favor and GIVE UP! said...
RE: picture of Bananagram puzzle
Well, guess what Kate, you should give up. Your viewership is in the toilet and you have said yourself that you are not liked by 90% of the general population. Maybe it is time to end the farce that is Kate Gosselin, Super Mom!! You have made it clear that you will film the kid's birthday party today. Why don't you do the right thing and make that the last show! The last time they will have to film! Give the kids the "Work Free" summer vacation that they so truely deserve. Stop being such a greedy, selfish, despicable pig. Enough is Enough. GIVE UP!
Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...
What's very sad about this situation too is that I'm sure the Gosselin children are missing out on a lot of friendships because parents don't want their kids filmed or paparazzi-ed.
Judging by all the outrage all over the place about this family, even many people from her area, I'm sure there are a good many parents who wouldn't want their child to go to a filmed birthday party that will air on a major cable network, and they would have good reason. Maybe many would let their kids go if their faces were blurred, but TLC might not want a blurred birthday party, it looks a little odd.
So basically, the kids are very likely not having all their friends they want there because their friends parents are being good, protective parents.
Half a million viewers isn't good ratings. But even so, would you want half a million people to see your child's face? I think if any parent really thinks about THAT FACT, they would be creeped. I'm guessing for many good parents, that's a big NO I don't want my kid filmed, period.
Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...
You know what, it doesn't take a big person to never get in. That's just stubborness, and it's easy. But it takes a very big person to "give in."
Life is not about never giving in. Sometimes life is about recognizing your mistakes, owning them, and realizing that it is time to stop making them and "give in."
And realizing that if you are brave enough and big enough to say I made a mistake and I want to end this, will you support me in ending it?.....I for one would support it. Anyone else?
The party poses an interesting situation for Kate. It is fairly well known by some observers that she doesn't spend a lot of time at the school in support of her kids and she doesn't seem to befriend any of the other student's parents. I don't know this for a fact, but it's not like you see her ever making small talk with anyone at the bus stop or stores, in fact we have had people say how aloof and rude she is in person. Yet, she now wants to invite these classmates to her kid's party. She not only will expect gifts from them, but also expect that they would not mind being filmed, so that she can make a nifty $250,000 off of the "7th Birthday" episode. UGH! It makes me sick. What happened to giving back! How about in lieu of presents, please give to charity of her/the kids choice etc. THose kids have enough, and since she is making a quarter of a million dollars off the party, she doesn't need other people's gifts, she should be happy they came and are willing to be filmed.
Really though, do you think she expects each kid who is invited to bring 6 gifts?? I would probably pass on the invite. 6 gifts and being filmed. Maybe the whole party is a bunch of actors......HUM! Please do GIVE IN KATE!
AuntieAnn said...
Admin -- I'd support it wholeheartedly but I don't think we're ever going to hear Kate Gosselin say she was wrong about filming those kids. She's too vindictive. That said, I'll gladly eat my words if she does say it.
You mean the kind of man who makes his wife coffee in the morning, lets her sleep in while he takes care of the kids, does routine household maintenance, unplugs a constipated child, changes diapers, feeds the kids, fills the car with gas, does all of the driving on long trips, puts up with nonsense in toy stores, supports all of his kids' school activities, field trips, picnics, while the wife goes on book tours or to pampering appointments? The kind of husband who teaches his kids to ride a bike while he wife sits in the driveway, the kind of husband who does all of the athletic things with the kids, rollerblading, skiing, while the wife goes to the spa or just watches because she doesn't want to get hurt?
I think one should consider herself lucky if she had that kind of husband in her life.
Has anyone else noticed that every time Kate or the kids do something, anything at all, she remarks on how tired she is afterwards? The intellectual effort in playing Bananagram apparently wore the children out, according to her Twitter.
Perhaps some actual food, with iron, and vitamins and minerals, would help the children regain the energy that grapes and crackers don't supply.For all I care, Kate can diet herself into oblivion, but she owes it to her children to allow them enough healthy food to play simple word games without becoming exhausted.
I'm sorry for the people who don't understand what a good father is. Maybe they have never had a good father in their lives, either their own or the father of their own kids? I'm curious if they think Jon is a bad father, how do they define a good father?
You're right, any woman would be so lucky to have someone as devoted as Jon helping to raise their kids.
I am very blessed to have been raised by a GREAT Daddy and to still have him in my life. I think that's one reason it tugs at my heartstrings so when I see Jon with his kids because I'm reminded a lot of how my dad was with his kids. He never patronized us, he talked to us like my thoughts mattered. He was there for us. He picked us up from school. He gave us hugs. He pulled me in the wagon to the park day after day in the summer, took me sledding day after day in the winter, rode bikes with me. We cheer our teams together, we cook together, we go to church together. He made us feel loved and secure. My relationship with him is incredibly healthy and always has been. Any dad like that is giving a child a wonderful gift.
Maybe she means it's exhausting for the kids doing anything with Kate, even playing a word game. I'll give the kids that.
But seriously, kids should not be exhausted all the time, I agree. Nor should adults really! If you have no energy, something is wrong--either with your diet, your exercise, perhaps you are ill, perhaps you are depressed. But does Kate understand it's not normal to drag your feet all the time?
Life is a performance when you are a Gosselin kid. And what that biatch mother refuses to acknowledge is once the TLC couch sessions end her kids will be having couch sessions with therapists for the rest of their lives. They will have to be deprogrammed, taught how to live in the real world, how to make friends, how to exist and know themselves for real. They'll go through hard times looking for that camera and mike and paycheque. That is why I loathe Kate. She did this on purpose to them, all the while lying through her ugly chicklet teeth that no harm is being done. Fuck her.
fidosmommy said...
I think the fact that the kids have their school time without filming and the opportunity to make real friends at school will work in their favor. I think they DO know how to act normally and to enjoy normal things. I think they DO know not everything in life comes with a paycheck or special trip. They have certainly learned that from their father if not from teachers and regular kids they know.
Although the kids may show entitlement behavior,
I still think that at heart they just want to be kids. Give them a choice between spending a weekend with a friend and going to the local park (properly supervised, of course!) or packing up to take a fancy trip to New York or the Outer Banks, I believe they would choose the weekend with a friend.
Kate is the one, IMO, who has taught them that
you don't need regular people in your life; as long as you have a willing employer who will pay you the big bucks, your life is a bowl of cherries. The kids will always see Mommy as the giver of big ticket items. The problem is,
when they are old enough to put value on things,
they will be most appreciative of the time they spent with Daddy, the security they felt when they were with him, and their days roller skating around the park with their friends.
My parents were very frugal. My memories of them were not what they bought me but how they helped me grow and think of myself as a success.
They encouraged, supported, taught, forgave and
loved without complaint. There are people in the Gosselin children's lives who do that for them, I am sure.
I have high hopes for the Gosselin 8 in spite of their mother.
Not to mention, for the last two birthdays it was the production crew doing most of the set-up. I really doubt Kate did most of the planning except make suggestions off her wish list.
With this being Jon's holiday year, does that include birthdays as well? Why couldn't Kate let Jon take the sextuplets out on their actual birthday since she was "planning" another party later on in the week? It would save time on her planning for multiple birthdays parties.
Sounds like this is another 5th birthday episode where Kate plans everything and celebrates close to home. I hope they won't show flashbacks and compare the two, especially Kate making some reference on how this one is better cause a particular person is noticeably absent (such as the Palin camping trip).
Real life kids birthday parties are incredibly boring; throw in a screeching banshee bitch named Kate, 6 kids who could give a rats ass with no family there & "extras" hired to fill in as friends, 2 older siblings looking defeated, sullen & jealous & a cake X 6, & wow! What a day! Thanks, but I'll pass...AGAIN. They are playing the audience a fool. Will they be filming in the driveway?
What's next after this? The totally exciting shopping trip to the grocery store? I think I'll go sit in my grass & watch it grow. Better bring my Kodak Sport video camera! It would probably get more hits on YT than Kate+8! When will this end?
I am so sick of this one-upping with parties. My son was invited to this party this year with goody bags with gift cards for Toys R Us for 20$. Um, HUH? My son had a sleepover. I know that is just Kate's way & she is effing filming, but just ONE TIME, can it be about the kids? Maybe they didn't want to film their party? Maybe they wanted to be with their dad this weekend, something quiet, go to a movie, lunch, the park, whatever. It's always Kate, doing it FOR Kate. She is so pathetic. And to whomever made that list, very funny, but may I say that there will be no friends there, it will be hired extras, pretending to be those poor kids friends. Does anyone honestly think Kate would have their friends over? Letting them trample through the house, possible pictures being taken? Hell no. She would be forced to communicate w/ common folk. God forbid. I would be surprised if anyone is there.
Well wait a minute now...maybe Jon WILL show up for ratings. Wouldn't that be something. Kate is so damn desperate for ratings & viewers. Jon would not sink that low though. But Kate, we know she would. I wouldn't put it past her if she asked.
I wonder if the constant "exhaustion" is a narcissist thing? My mother is in her 60s, doesn't work, spends her days scrapbooking and playing computer solitaire and acts like her life is just exhausting when she has to take Grandma to a doctor appointment once a week. If she has to host a family birthday party she spends DAYS preparing and can do nothing else because it's so exhausting. I imagine that means she adds one or two extra chores to her usual daily routine of sleeping late and pissing her life away. I think my mom who isn't famous in any way enjoys the attention she gets from pretending to be soooo busy and working soooo hard when she's in fact doing next to nothing.
My narcissist was a work-a-holic who had endless energy. She slept very little, ate very little, drank a lot, and never stopped. I was convinced she was on speed. I think she saw admitting she was tired as a weakness. A lot of celebs are narcissists and most celebs are workaholics, that's how they got to BE a celeb. Kate is actual unusual in that she managed to be so famous even while being so lazy.
I don't think "I'm exhausted!" is specific to narcissists. However both traits get you attention, which could be related to the narcissism. What I mean is someone who is a woarkaholic gets attention for working hard, "how do you do it?!" and so on, while someone who is saying how exhausted they are gets sympathy because they are working so hard.
Why would she do that when she can get paid $250,000 to have a birthday party with all expenses for the party paid for by TLC?
Fidosmommy: I think that some time ago it would have been true, that they would rather spend the time with their friends at a quiet get-together. Now, though, may be a different story. With each trip more lavish than the last, entitlement is setting in. What can top a trip to Australia or Alaska? Would they even be satisfied with plain old boring New York City, or a trip to the Jersey shore? I don't think so. It may be too late. How you gonna keep 'em down on the farm after they've seen Paree?
Loved reading the tributes to dads here. Father's Day isn't until next month, but it's good to see them appreciated. I had a great dad, too. My dad was sort of old school. He was older when I was born, and I'm not sure he knew what to do with a kid. However - he gave me dolls and frilly dresses, but he also bought me a softball bat and glove and taught me how to throw and catch a ball and hit a curve ball (not very well, though. Unfortunately, I'm a klutz). He taught me to love and appreciate music. He taught me to love books (actually, both my parents did. We're a family of readers). He taught me to be a lady. From the time I started to mature, he treated me as he would any other lady of his acquaintance. He helped me on with my coat, he held chairs and doors for me and generally taught me how to behave and to expect to be treated by a man. He also taught me to never be ashamed of my intelligence and to use it wisely. He taught me that he might not always like what I did, but that he would always love me and have my back. He taught me that I could do or become anything I wanted to be. He taught me how to drive a car and to change a tire. He taught me to look out for others. That no matter how tough times were, or how short money was, that it was always important to help others. He taught me to pray. He took me to church and to baseball games and to concerts. Most importantly, though, he loved my mother and was faithful to her for their 38 year marriage. I lost him when I was 32. I'm 63 now, and I still miss him every day.
A direct comment from Sage's site that I find too funny for words, must have missed it from December People. A direct quote from Kate Kreider: I've kept the stability, the income-everything that they know and love, I've come through on that, she says. I'm doing what me kids need me to do." Really? She is doing what her kids need her to do? I find this highly unlikely. Didn't she and Jon say to their children in August 2009 during their fake vow renewal in Hawaii that they would always be together? Is this what her kids need her to do? Whoops - too late. When they moved to the new house - didn't Kate say to her children never to set foot in her bedroom again under penalty of severeness? Is this what her kids need her to do? Did her kids need her to go on numerous book tours leaving them at home for many weeks at a time while she traveled alone with Steve? Is that what her kids need her to do? Last weekend at the Kentucky Derby she was there alone again with her "bodyguard". Is this what her kids need her to do? During her stint on DWTS she was gone for weeks at a time. Is this what her kids need her to do? Look, most of us are mothers here and we want the best for our children. My question is: does Kate Kreider want the best for her children or does she want the best for herself. The old proverb is actions speak louder than words.
Troy, I don't know how you have the stomach to go over to that side. what they're saying makes perfect sense though. We're always saying that the Kate supporters must be just like Kate, now they're saying the same thing in reverse regarding our support of Jon. It just shows to go ya! Their thinking is back-asswards.
Lynn - I haven't seen that interview with Kate before. Interesting. She's kept everything the kids know and love - except, of course, their Aunts and Uncles, their Grandparents, their Cousins, their Great Grandmother, Lord knows how many friends, and, oh yes - their FATHER, whom they know, love and NEED.
I've always thought that "penalty of severeness" comment was directed at Jon, not the kids. It makes more sense, since we know he was, by that time, living in the garage apartment. Of course, when did Katie Kreider ever make any sense?
====================
You never stop missing dads like that. Mine was an older dad, too. Every day there's something that sparks a memory, even if it's just a little thing like seeing a news clip about a politician that he knew, hearing a song on the oldies radio station that he'd sing, standing beside me during piano practice (20 years of lessons), tapping out the beat to make sure I'd get the timing right, or just drinking some meadow tea and remembering so many times the two of us rode our bikes to the pasture down the road to pick mint tea. There's not a day that goes by that I don't wish he could be here to see how far technology has come. He was a man way ahead of his time with his electronic gadgets. I'd give anything just to see his face if someone handed him a smart phone, or to watch him take apart a GPS to figure out how it works.
I think that the reason I was always so much in awe of him is because there seemed to be nothing he couldn't do. He was brilliant. Loved by the folks in our hometown, he was also friends of the great and near great throughout our country. He could be comfortable wearing a tux at a large social gathering for prominent people, but he'd have just as much fun eating a candy apple at our church carnival. He loved life, and the people in it. I never heard him utter a curse word - never. His guiding hand is always on my shoulder.
I hope the Gosselin kids have those kind of memories of Jon. The best memories in life are the little things, hugs during a thunderstorm, hot dogs at a ball game, or sand castles on a beach, NOT the $2,000 a night hotel rooms or having an amusement park open just for your pleasure. What they are going to remember of Kate are the meltdowns, tears and drama staged for filming, screaming about grass stains, telling the kids that Daddy is mean and doesn't care about their safety, and warning her son that she doesn't even want to hear him breathe.
I read with sadness recently about Harmon Killebrew, MLB Hall of Famer, who decided not to fight cancer, and enter hospice care. I remember something he once said: "My father would play with my brother and me in the yard. My mother would come out and say, "You're tearing up the grass." "We're not raising grass," Dad would reply. "We're raising boys."
Give the Gosselin kids a normal childhood, filled with grass stains and happy summer days with their dad, doing whatever they want to do, and enjoying every minute of it. That's the stuff of which memories are made. An early Happy Father's Day, Jon. You don't choose your children. They are God's gift to you, as you are to them. They need to know that in the happiest of their childhood memories, at least one of their parents was happy, too.
Childhood is the most beautiful of all life's seasons. Let them have that season - for their sake.
I've been watching the jury selection with interest too. What a sad, dysfunctional family that little girl was born into. Now they're both poster girls for the label.
Product placements at its finest.
For some reason Kate thinks bigger is better; bigger house, bigger party, bigger vacations, bigger boobs... More presents, more stuff, blah, blah, blah. All those things bring kids happiness for about ten minutes and then they want the real stuff: your love, concern and attention. They want to be proud of you, not embarrassed by your appearance, behavior, and need to show off. I think Kate is obsessed with showing off all these things because of an inferiority complex. Not blaming her parents, don't know enough about them to comment. But I think KATE was envious of the rich kids who went to the expensive schools, who dressed nicely and could afford braces and vacations and cars and whatever her shallow little self felt so deprived of. She also may have envied the popular, pretty girls in school. It seems like she was a completely forgettable teen. She is hellbent on showing how she is now beautiful (uhh, whatever, Kate, the cracked mirrors don't bug you), hot (saggy skin and scars notwithstanding),rich (but still grifting), important (the miniature bodyguard), and of course, a fabulous mother!! If she just went about the business of being a mom: driving the kids, feeding them, helping with homework, and just hanging out with them, she would actually stand a chance of being respected for being a mom. It's hard word, not glamorous, and the gratification is often delayed. Not kate's style. If she can throw a sadly overdone, poorly attended party for those kids and they smile for ten minutes on camera, she thinks she's proven how awesome a mom she is. Plus she gets to outdo all the kids who didn't notice her back when she was that homely, mediocre student with thick glasses and thicker thighs. She's always proving her supposed superiority and it just makes her look pathetic. Thank goodness there's Jon who understands what kids want and need and who isn't a raving, juvenile nutjob
====================
Kate was popular in high school, not a forgettable teen. She was cheerleader. She was involved in school activities, clubs, drama productions, musicals, yearbook staff, photography club, and she had dates. She didn't sit at home while other kids hung out on weekends. She did not grow up in a trailer park, as erroneously reported by some tabloids. I'm not quite sure where this story about her being a thick-thigh kid with glasses originated. She was not fat, she had gotten rid of the glasses, and was by no means homely. She had girlfriends, and she wasn't the ugly girl out - not by any means. Granted, she wasn't a raving beauty in 8th or 9th grade (didn't we all look gangly at that age?), but by the time she was a sophomore, she certainly was not unattractive.
Check out the cheerleader photo #13, 11th grade. She doesn't look like a forgettable homely teen. She also went to a private school - not the most expensive in the area, but it was, and still is, nothing to sneeze at.
I actually had a good time tonight tweeting on Kates "twitter page" and the conversation started out the same way, people voicing their disdain for Kate and then "alwayscole" someone who took up for Kate, asked questions and showed her civility by discussing the problems with Kate and the show and as a mother, voiced her concerns. That broke the ice and then two more people who were "Team Kate" also shared their concerns.
From there, it took a hilarious turn and we all shared catholic school stories and the entire tweet site was everyone getting along and the conversation flowed.
At about bar closing time, someone came in and started venting for Kate and the twitter site went from a love fest to a fang fest and the fists began to flow. I will say, that it was for the most part a civil, funny, snark shared, humor fest until one person wanted to rattle everyones cage. The tide is surely turning in the kids favor and the one time fans are starting to see the truth and feel sorry for the vulnerable children. That's what this is all about. The kids.
More later.
Hi, all, doing a great job, dear Admin! I used to decorate the front yard with banners, balloons, decorations when one of them had a birthday, and because we never wanted any kids left out, we would invite the entire class, 25-30 kids. We did not have money, but if we did, I still would have done the same things.After we lost our farm, we had alot of hard times, ate alot of pasta. My oldest daughter recently told me, that even though our meals were not fancy, her best memories are how special I made those pasta meals.My heart breaks for those 8 kids.They will never remember a normal childhood. Just all pomp and circumstance.
And it really ticks me off that kate is still using the Gosselin name. The kids, yes, but why should she be able to use it? The man was not good enough for her, why would his name be any better?
She always manages to stick her foot in her mouth. This will be her downfall, but she just doesn't get it! Kate claimed she had no camera when she was on the alleged trip with the 3 girl tups. Therefore, she could not post a pix from the trip, when asked. The Easter baskets was 'destroyed' by the kids before she could get a pix with her camera. Even though the kids were gone all day with Jon. BUT she did manage to get a pix of the bread bowls w/soup the same day. LOL I think the baskets were in her imagination, just as the imaging she actually baked those bread bowls. She worked on that baskets for 2 days! When has she ever passed up a chance to show what a great mommy she is? When has she ever not had a camera? I imagine she must have 6 million pix of those kids by now.
Kelly, Thanks for the info on the tweet-fest tonite with "alwayscole". I went to her page and read all of the conversations and was impressed with her open mind and honesty. She is a married 35 year old nursing student with one daughter who admitted she didn't understand how or why Kate always complained about always being so tired and said "aren't we all"? Someone with this girl's schedule knows what tired is and she called Kate on it!
I wasn't surprised about how in the dark she was about so many things, though because I think a lot of sheeple either don't know about the background incidents or don't want to know. She said she'd never heard of the time Kate refused Mady water or about the "good bra" story. Can you imagine how open "alwayscole's" eyes will be if she learns all of the truths about Kate's lies and exploitation?
I believe a LOT of the sheeple see Kate as a mother with 8, count 'em, 8 kids who made the only choice available to her to support her family and who will not drop their defenses long enough to see the truth. Thanks to Kelly tonight for being in the right place at the right time to bring awareness to "alwayscole". Good job, Kelly.
E-town neighbor-Since you seem to have personal knowledge about Kate's high school days, could you please answer these questions for me?
Was Kate able to do well academically at high school, or did she just squeak through her classes that depended on facility with languages?
And how rigorous were the educational requirements at Kate's private Christian school?
I am only asking because her spoken and "Twittered" language ability is well below what I would expect from somebody that had graduated from a private secondary school, and been able to complete a nursing course; I don't understand how she managed to graduate from either.
Something about this doesn't feel right to me; Is her stupidity part of a big act, I wonder, or did she have a lot of help getting through school?
If you don't know the answer, maybe someone else on the thread does. Thanks in advance!
No regrets said...
On my post above: 'baskets was 'destroyed' SHOULD have been "were" ugh!
Kate has bought into all the fawning the fans give her. "I don't know HOW you do it, with 8 kids" "You are a supermom" "You do so much" blah, blah Kate has ALWAYS had help. Always. I don't begrudge this, if one can afford it, or if they have volunteers. But stop pretending you do it all, because you don't. Why brag about playing a simple game with your kids? Because you don't usually do this? With 8 little ones, yes it is a lot of work. I had 5 and KNOW the work involved. HOWEVER, I do not feel I am a 'supermom' for feeding my kids, taking them places, (WE had to pay for this) or generally taking care of my kids needs. This is what parents do. This is their job. What makes a supermom, IMO, is fulfilling their emotional needs, being there for every little "owie" or pain they have dealing with every day general life.
Most any woman can have a child, but some do not do their very basic J.O.B. A supermom does NOT make decisions based only on money. Money is not a priority to your child's well being, mentally. I would NEVER betray my child's inner most feelings, and tell anyone. "Crumpled in tears" over the news of the divorce. And so many other things this woman has divulged about these kids. There is no filter, there are no boundaries. Yes, they are on a tv show. But there are STILL lines a mother should never cross. Everything you do for your children does not center around YOU, as a mother. Even the simple game she put a pix of on her tweet. It centered around HER. That was the first thing I noticed. With all the platitudes thrown in, "family" "laughter" etc. "see what a great mom I am!". Sorry, that was so set up for her own self image. Obvious to me.
I can see why you are so "exhausted" all the time. It is very exhausting trying to bring the 'supermommy' deeds back yourself, constantly.
Always Skeptical said...
Not to come to Kate's defense but regarding the supposed trip with the tup girls, and no pictures, I thought she said she couldn't use her phone while there, no reception (whatever it's called). Maybe I'm wrong about that.
No regrets said...
Another great "logic" conclusion of the fans: Betty Hays of Table for 12, said they did the show to bring awareness of disabled children. The Duggars said they did it to bring the message of their religion. 'Though they throw these "noble" excuses out for the show, only Kate is honest. She does it for the money and trips.' LOL
Let me get this straight, Kate should be commended because she admits it is for greed? Ummm does anyone else see anything wrong with this picture?
Mel said...
Re: ... "I thought she said she couldn't use her phone while there, no reception" ...
Could be true, but probably not. That's why some people aren't on to her yet. Most of what she says could be true, but isn't.
Besides, if it was that big a deal, she could have taken a picture or tweet as they left the airport or urban area, or returned to it.
Not THAT many places in the country where there isn't reception -- at least the kinds of places she would go to.
Snark, snort, hahahaha. Oops, spilled coffee. Gotta go.
I think Kate thinks that, everyone will flock back to her show, to see the tups turn 7. NOT!, cause sorry, the kids don't look any different 2 months ago, 6 months ago than they look today. Only thing people are gonna see is a self-center(cause we all know Kate will make this about herself), entitled(getting party paid for by TLC) and any person going over the top, in self-indulgence, especially in this economy, when people are unemployed, and those that have are job are hoping their company does not tank. The regular people can not ID with Kate, Kate lives in a world of her own making, nobody can relate to her. I also think she is tryin to show up Jon and buy the kids. Buying the kids, so when they get older they won't be wanting to live with dad, cause dad is poor.
Ok, food for thought: Didn't TLC have a show about crazy-rich parents who gave their, probably spoiled children lavish, expensive parties? What happened to that show? And why was Kate buying at Giant Foods, I thought she ate organic? What the peasants and her kids get regular food, not good enough for organics? I agree with someone here, the other kids will probably be TLC crews kids. Cause, I'm sure that none of the other parents will sign a paper, bring 6 gifts and then thank Kate for inviting their kids to the party. Well, maybe a few kiss ups. If it were me I wouldn't. I'm going to respectfully disagree with you as far as Kate using money/gifts to keep the kids from going to live with Jon in the future.
The money Jon is making now is nothing to sneeze at and since Kate will be downsizing soon and going back to work herself:), the playing field will be more level. I truly believe Kate could buy those kids all the toys in the world, with their money, and they will still want to go live with Jon and will do so . . . .first the twins, then maybe the tups two by two or something. Jon pays attention to them as other human beings, whereas Kate only sees them as a means to her fame and STAHdom.
I was thinking the exact same thing. Girls that age are so self conscious to begin with. Mady and Cara are probably scared to death they will run into one of their classmates while they're out shopping with cameras following them around. I'm sure Kate lays guilt trips on them telling them unless they film they won't be able to eat because their father doesn't help her at all. What a burden to lay on children! Not likely. They film in Berks County; most of their classmates live in Lancaster County and don't shop anywhere near where the twins are shopping/filming. Their classmates know that that are filmed. It's really nothing new or surprising. I don't think that it would bother the twins in the least if anyone they knew saw them around cameras.
As far as shopping at the local Giant. I'm not sure where else she could shop. It's not a big area, and Whole Foods is about an hour away - much too far to drive for your routine grocery visit. I think that the organic thing was all for "show," and I doubt that they eat organic every meal. Think about it - with all the traveling they do, they'd have to search out all restaurants for a totally organic meal. Not going to happen. Those kids eat salads, meat, fish and poultry just like everyone else.
I remember that quote and I remember thinking at the time, nothing could be farther from the truth.
It's been said Aunt Jodi cared for the twins while Kate worked. Later we saw her care for all the kids (plus her own) when Kate needed a break. Then one day, Kevin, Jodi and their children were abruptly removed from the G kids lives. To be replaced with a revolving door of young "not a nannies" and "helpers." How is that stable? (BTW, Kate refusing to ever say the word "nanny" is right up there with calling her boob job a "new good bra" What an idiot.)
After the separation and divorce she exclaimed "the show must go on!" With no other means of income and a mortgage on a million dollar home, Kate had the show renamed and began filming. Her income and "career" (lol) is dependent on people watching the show and lately huge numbers *haven't* been watching. How is that stable?
Books, children's clothing line, chance to co-host a talk show, huge following on the Christian circuit, her own TLC show, correspondent gigs on ET- blew them ALL... into tiny bits. How is that stable? How is that doing what your kids need you to do?
I hope and pray that Jon coming out of anonymity and doing an interview about the kids going back to a normal life is a sign. A sign that maybe he knows the end is coming. And how ironic that it is JON who is REALLY doing the work and taking the steps needed to ensure stability for his kids. Not the kind of "stability" that Kate selfishly desires for herself and herself alone.
Clarissa's adoption scheme is looking good. She's clearly got the family gene for grifting.
Won't adopt domestically (where's the chance for grifting there???) Can't afford the child now, won't be able to afford it later (or fund medical care for its special needs), so that means there's potentially a whole lifetime of grifting to exploit. Nice work, there.
Talk about entitlement. Those kids of Khate's never stood a chance, coming, as they did, from a gene pool like this one.
just wondering said...
She is asking for $25,000 which she needs before she can even APPLY for the child. Says she is a one income family. So why doesn't Clarissa just go out and get a job? The Kreiders seem to believe that other people should pay for everything. What a SCAM!! So if she raises the money and the organization (which is not named) denies her application, then what? Is the money returned?
These Kreiders are nothing but gypsy grifters through and through.
First, if Kate has to go back to work with her millions, then I am very close to being homeless. I wish people would quit saying that, because it's absurd and it's also demeaning to people like me who have worked their butts off their entire life. If I had even one million (or even 1/2 million), I could live without a single care for the rest of my life. And, yes, I probably will have to go back to work after my worker's comp runs out, which is only about one year away. Sorry, but it makes my blood boil every time I hear someone say Kate needs to go back to work...she has interest and all kinds of residuals, in addition to being a multi-millionaire. This isn't about me, so forgive me...I don't want to come across like Kate (it's always all about me me me, even down to a Bananagram). Cara looks miserable in all those pics and it's interesting that there's not a single full-face pic of Mady...those girls certainly don't look like twins much anymore. I'm worried about Cara now, more than Mady.
From the adoption begging website:
"If God blesses us with an overage, the remaining funds will be used to cover our post-placement costs or personal needs for our daughter (clothing, bedroom furniture, school supplies, etc.)"
&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&&
I missed this on the first go-round: "blesses us with an *overage* " !!!!! Man, Clarissa K. Mertz is thinking ahead here, eyeballs firmly on the spoils of begging.
She wants $25,000 just to start the adoption process, and she is already clear that it would be OK for her donors to pay for clothing, bedroom furniture, school supplies, etc., because, after all, why should the adoptive parents have to pay for that stuff?
Why do you suppose she's looking in Ethiopia? Hey, I've got an idea - people *know* if you've adopted a child of another race. Nobody's gonna ask or give you attention if they see your same-race child. No one will appreciate you as a martyr. No one will give you money to adopt domestically, or within your own race.
There just isn't any drama to going down to your local county office and taking home an older, special needs child from your own country. And zippo glory.
I think maybe those Kreiders have more than a few female family members with deep problems.
Please note: I'm not dissing international adoption, necessarily, or everyone's motives for adopting internationally. But I *am* questioning, hugely, why this particular family, apparently without any financial resources, feels that others should fund their lives. If this family wants children, there are plenty of other, cheaper, more honest, ways to build a family.
There were "hate posts" up in the comments BEFORE the link was published here.
It's relevant because Kate's behavior has an effect. Her sister is grifting in exactly the same way Kate did, for the same reasons, and in the same way.
And there's (potentially) a child involved. Children shouldn't be a means to financial well-being for adults. ADULTS should support CHILDREN, not the other way around.
Kate's done damage that, sadly, goes far beyond even that she's done to her own children.
GEORGE HARVEY (THE LOVELY BONES)
George Harvey is a fictional character of Alice Sebold's 2002 novel The Lovely Bones.
Character overview
A serial killer, he murders the protagonist, 14-year-old Susie Salmon, at the beginning of the novel, setting the story in motion. He is referred to throughout the novel as Mr. Harvey, the name by which Susie had always addressed him in life.
An ephebophile, Harvey's preferred victims are pubescent girls like Susie, but he also murders adult women ranging in age from mid-20s to well into middle age. By the time he kills Susie, he has killed possibly a dozen other women and girls.
He makes his living building dollhouses, and tells his neighbors he is a widower; it is implied that he uses one of his victims' names as that of his "wife".
They look totally disgusted, nonchalant, and yes, sad, in photos and on the video clips. What I said was that their peers know that they are being filmed, and that aspect of it is nothing new, so having classmates seeing them being filmed is just another fact of life for them.
I think that it is assumed that the kids at school gather around the television on Monday nights with baited breath to watch the shows. It's become "old hat" now. The twins on television isn't a novelty anymore. Kids have more on their minds than watching the Gosselins traipsing around the globe.
Regarding the adoption:
The Mertz's aren't unusual in requesting donations to help with adoption costs. Other Christian adoption agencies I have heard of have encouraged their members to fundraise as well because the cost ARE very high. As for the overage, that too is common for fundraising sites like this or Kickstarter. You have to show your contributors/donors how you plan to account for any excess funds you raise - after all, you can't give it back once it's been donated because the accounting on these sites doesn't work that way, at least to my understanding.
In my personal opinion, people should refrain from projecting Kate's reputation on to her sister. If the Mertz' suddenly start filming a reality television show for TLC about foreign adoptions, then have at thee. But at this point, I don't see that she has done anything that merits attacking her online. If you disagree, then to be fair you need to go to every adoption fundraising site and voice your criticism or in your comments generalize them out to all people who fundraise to help meet adoption costs. Because, IMO, this is guilt by association.
Good lord is right. Remember when Jon made the statement that he put his kids out there for every pedophile and that he was disgusted and sorry for having done this? I don't think at that time that he realized to what extent the show has become a favorite among those society creeps.
I would hope that someone tweets Jon with this info, verified or not, so that it can be checked out.
Of course, it could be all a ruse to get us agitated enough to believe it (remember the dog left alone story?). In this case, however, better to err on the side of caution. I don't doubt for one minute that perverts aren't following whereabouts of these kids. Kate put them out there, and it's time for someone to reign them in. With Kate opening their lives up with this incessant twittering, I just don't have a good feeling about any of this. We certainly don't want to say, "We told you so," after something happens.
Puddymoors said...
I had 2 comments I wanted to make.
The first concerns Kate's sister asking for money for an adoption. When I was breeding high quality show dogs, an instant turn off for me was someone who queried the price I put on my dogs. I was always concerned that someone who would have to scrimp to afford one of my dogs would not have the money to afford vet bills (I've recently shelled out just over $10 000 for a thyroid problem).
This would be my concern with Kate's sister. She can't afford the 'purchase' price. What happens when this child needs a cochlear implant, or needs to go to a special school? Is she just going to pray the child better?
My second comment relates to the kids birthday party. I've always felt sorry for the sextuplets because they never get to be the centre of attention. Even at their own birthday party it's not about them, it's about the fact that their mother brought six of them into the world (according to one #1fan this isn't something that's widely known ... ). I can understand everyones concerns about having to take along 6 presents etc. I just feel sorry for these kids who don't even get 1 day a year when they are celebrated for being different, unique and special.
Mom In Lancaster County said...
I respectfully disagree. It's grifting - nothing more, nothing less. Grifting is grifting, and it seems like it runs in the family. Monkey see, monkey do. Kate has everything handed to her. See, it works. Why not give it a try? Jump on the solicitation bandwagon and see how far the ride takes us. That's how Kate began -- get those kids conceived and then shop around for a show.
Get a child adopted and let's see if TLC will pick it up for a show. It doesn't hurt to try. This isn't just any family going for adoption funding. This is the family of someone who sees first hand how lucrative it is.
====================
There's a general lack of accountability to these websites that is of concern to potential donors, and anyone considering making any donation should be very careful about who they chose to support.
Mertz's page is of particular concern to those who have followed the Kate saga because of the language it uses, the lack of any specific information, the admission that the Mertz's (according to the statement on the website) don't even appear to be in a position to buy their potential child's furniture, and certainly aren't financially able to cope with ongoing medical expenses, even if they are allowed to adopt.
In addition, the expectations and language, and the use of the word "God" and much quoting of Bible verses is exactly how both Kate and Jon originally grifted their way into a lavish lifestyle. That is certainly no accident.
There is every reason in the world to be skeptical of this woman's begging for money, precisely because her sister has been so very good at it, and because, if Clairissa K. Mertz had an honest bone in her body, she would run screaming from any financial scheme that looked like the scam her sister has been running all these years.
Discussing this adoption webpage are relevant, at least to this extent. There's a truly unsavory pattern here, and gullible people are armed just a little better if there is history available, and if they ask themselves questions before donating. That's a perfectly legitimate use of the internet.
What's WRONG with these people?
Anyway, my prediction is she won't raise the money. Fair or not, the negative association with Kate the Grifter is already there. For some reason, I can see this sister shopping a show about the adoption to TLC.
By the way, did anyone notice that IwanaDateKate says things like Kate? "I SO agree...." etc. Kate does that weird thing of saying "I SO want to go there.." or "I SO agree..." and it always jumps out at me because I usually don't hear people doing that instead of "I want to go there SO much." I'm not surprised that people dodn't want to discuss the reality of pedophiles on the internet. I have been sounding off about child abuse laws in PA for at least 3 years now and most people don't want to hear about that either.
Child Abuse and Pedophila- two taboo subjects that if ignored, will go away? Keeping these subjects secret and out of "polite" conversations is what allows them to continue to happen.
The fact that Kate is twittering with someone who is openly a member of NAMBLA, when she has three adorable little boys, is outrageous; especially since she is so free with their whereabouts and schedules.
Let's talk about the fact that there is an organization devoted to adult men having sexual relations with children; that it's apparently legal for this organization to exist; and that
Kate is in contact with one of its members; and the implications of this contact.
This woman is being vilified for being Kate Gosselin's sister. Nobody is being forced to give her a penny. If you don't think they should be adopting a child that she indicates they really can't afford, then don't donate. There is absolutely no reason to trash the woman and leave hateful comments on the site. man.
What about the CHILD in the middle of all this? It's reasonable to guess that a child with special needs from Ethiopa will have a heck of a better life here than in Ethiopa, even with a family that can't afford to adopt without help. Is anyone thinking about that?
I don't think so. She got the publicity in the first place because she used her maiden name on the page (which, by the way, looks a lot like a deliberate attempt to sail on her sister's coattails), and she got vilified because she was using exactly the same language and tactics her sister used to grift many, many churches and gullible Christians out of funds for years and years.
She ASKED, through these actions, to be compared to her grifting, more successful, sister.
She also fails to provide any specifics on the web page that might make her look less like a grifter and more like a responsible person, and leaves no doubt that there will be no accountability for the funds.
She got raked over the coals for all of this quite appropriately, I'd say. Calling others out for obvious grifting is not the same thing as being "vile".
If they can't afford to adopt a child and can't afford to raise a child and support a child with necessary items/medical care to assure that child receives the care that he/she needs, then certainly the welfare of that child is being considered by those who deem her guilty by association. It's not all about her and her wants; it's also about the child. Somehow that family just doesn't "get it" when there are children involved.
If it's guilt by association, then it's guilt by association. A family member is known as the queen of all grifters; another family member asks for donations and the financial funding to adopt a child. Like sister, like sister.
Kate couldn't afford the twins, let alone six additional children, but that didn't stop her, and thus the begging in the form of love offerings was initiated. You don't think that her sister's family would go the same route, knowing that it worked for Kate? If someone believes that wouldn't happen, I have a load of clean coal to sell...
The fact that Kate is twittering with someone who is openly a member of NAMBLA, when she has three adorable little boys, is outrageous; especially since she is so free with their whereabouts and schedules.
Absolutely! Please don't forget that there are also pedophiles who prefer little girls. I'm not aware of any association for them.
Why are comments against this woman fundraising to adopt considered guilt by association when the main point is if you can't afford to adopt this way, you shouldn't be adopting in this manner? Why are they adopting when there is ANY kind of financial lack in their budget? In that way they ARE like kate, she went through having HOM's will full knowledge that at the time they couldn't even afford their twins.
****
I read the comments on her page before they were taken down. That was not the main point made. The main "point" was nasty comments about how she's just like her sister. Her sister has nothing to do with this and thus it is guilt by association. It's perfectly reasonable not to give her money. It is not reasonable to leave hateful comments on her site because you don't like her sister.
I abhor the exploitation of Holy Scripture to further one's cause. It would seem Mrs. Mertz
is attempting to guilt prospective donors into
helping her, essentially stating that you are not doing the Lord's work if you do not pledge
funds for this purpose. Not only that, it seems to suggest if you do contribute that you will be in better standing with God. That is
called justification by works and it is not the message of Christianity. Sadly though, many get drawn into the idea that we owe each other these extraordinary gifts. I don't believe we do. We owe each other prayers, emotional support and Christian love, but it does not mean we must pay for their choices.
If the donors truly want to give to the Mertz's
adoption fund, I only pray they are doing it for truly philanthropic reasons and not because they have been Scripture guilted into it.
The Scripture is not intended to be used for our
personal agenda, it is a gift to help us shape our lives and feed our souls.
The inclusion of several Scripture verses that
practically scream "You MUST help us, it shows
your faithfulness to God" is a misuse of Scripture. I am very sorry they have done it this way.
I read all the comments, too (over two dozen) before they were taken down, and I respectfully disagree. There were many comparisons to Kate, it's true, but virtually all of those reflected the indignation of the commentators over an attempt to fundraise that mirrored Kate's and Jon's so obviously.
Many, if not most, referred to Clairissa's admission that she cannot afford an international adoption. Commenters seemed to universally feel that fundraising a la Kate was highly inappropriate under those circumstances.
The sad fact is that the begging on Clairissa's fundraising page IS very like her sister's grifting. Commentators clearly found this appalling.
The comparison to Kate was not at all out of line, in my opinion. It was an accurate assessment of what Clairissa is doing, and calling her out for following the disgraceful model first used by her sister Kate.
Maybe the sister shouldn't have used her maiden name? Or maybe the sister can get a job to support this adoption.
I also read the comment section before it was taken down. There were a total of 15 comments and several were by the same person.
It is unreasonable to assume that we were/are all part of a giant conspiracy against Kate's sister.
Remember when Kate tweeted that the twins got three gifts each for helping out during the first birthday celebration? Will they get more gifts for this filmed birthday celebration?
I'm just speculating, but it wouldn't surprise me if Kate uses gifts as bribes if the twins don't want to film. They look miserable in those photos. Too bad the twins aren't aware as to how much of the show's money is theirs...I'd demand Kate give me my share of the money instead of these gifts, if I was one of the twins.
If she didn't want the association with her sister, she should have left her maiden name off the page. That's the only reason we know who she is.
And it's a good point to make that she doesn't engage in ANY specifics on the fundraising page.
It's also relevant to ask why she can't turn to her church and extended family for help, along with getting a job. She has a sister worth $4-5 million. $25K is just about three trips for extensions to NY for Kate.
Maybe this woman thought she'd get sympathy/admiration by association, but if so, she greatly misread Kate's current status in popular culture: mostly forgotten or disdained.
Oh and "Guilt by association"---some of us, such as myself, never saw the comments on the fundraising page. Unless you took screenshots, I don't know what they said.
Here in Canada at least, NAMBLA is not particularly gender specific. It started as a group of pedophiles with a male orientation; now its message is that the age of participants should not be of concern in any sexual activity, so little girls would be included.
Jon was aware that his children were likely being tracked by pedophiles several years ago, and tried to get the filming stopped.
The Gosselin children will be at great risk when the show is over and they are no longer in the public eye; Kate has made sure that every pervert in the neighbourhood knows where they live, what school they go to, and when she is absent from the home;where the school bus drops them off and picks them up; what grocery store they shop at; what their car and van look like; etc., etc. And now she is engaging in conversations with strangers who espouse NAMBLA on Twitter.
I think the issue of people who are perfectly capable of supporting themselves who nonetheless play to people's emotions, including religious emotions, to grift money off them, is an important one. We talk about protecting a child who deserves a great home, what about protecting the vulnerable little church lady who is easily scammed by something like this? That said, I don't think harassing them accomplishes anything. I will remind the sheeple of the libelous accusation against me that I begged for donations. Which was patently false and which last I checked was STILL up there. I will remind them they had no problem discussing this about me. So if they try to say this discussion is off limits, I point them to that. I'm just as private as Clarissa but if people are grifting, they should be called out. Only problem was I wasn't. I believe in working for a living.
I was in church this morning as I usually am. Two out of three of our resident celebs were there. And a new one popped up, incidentally someone from a popular Discovery Channel show. Not a reality show, think along the lines of Mythbusters. I wouldn't have noticed but someone pointed them out to me. Apparently they've lived around here for awhile, they may have been going here awhile but I never noticed. No one made a big deal, as usual. None of these celebs are too good to go to church.
Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...
Oh and the issue of pedophiles may be discussed too. People who impose some kind of negative thing about talking about it are confusing being an actual pedophile with being concerned about pedophilia. They are not one in the same obviously! This is the biggest confusion of the issue I've ever seen.
This isn't the 19th century where we didn't discuss things like abortion, sex, child abuse, homosexuals. It was not a good thing to NOT discuss uncomfortable things, it gets us nowhere. This is 2011.
Why would someone adopt a baby from another country with special needs when they can't even afford the adoption process? Does this mean that PA taxpayers (or whatever state they live in) will be paying for the medical care of the special needs baby or will the baby's care be funded by contributions to this family's website? If they have some type of organization established, then the accounting records should be accessible to the public.
What they are going to remember of Kate are the meltdowns, tears and drama staged for filming, screaming about grass stains, telling the kids that Daddy is mean and doesn't care about their safety, and warning her son that she doesn't even want to hear him breathe.
-------------------------------
The boys not being allowed to eat cupcakes on their 4th birthday
not being allowed to choose their own ice cream flavours or what they eat when eating out
being made to wear matching clothing
still having to sit in highchairs
not being allowed to use markers (even though Kate would throw away anything they drew anyway!)
Kate yelling at them that "she was in charge and that's never going to change"
Having all of their embarrassing moments aired for the whole world to see
Being made to take 4-hour naps
Being sent to bed and missing out on an activity for crying about wanting to go with Jon to run errands
Being spanked with the red spoon
Kate's treatment of them when they're sick - ignoring Collin when he's constipated, yelling at Joel for getting vomit on his comforter and then making him sleep on the laundry room floor
Kate was an average student -- not a top honors student, but by no means on the bottom of the totem pole. The school is very good as far as academics is concerned. It is not on the same level as the kids' school, where 100 percent of the graduates go on to four-year colleges and universities, many of them Ivy League. That said, if I were considering a school in the area with a religious affiliation, MCCS would be in the running, along with Lancaster County Christian School. MCCS is accredited by Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools Committee of Institution-wide Accreditation. It's not a fly-by-night school. It's been in existence for twenty five years.
You commented about Kate's language/writing skills. Kids who don't have the fundamental basics are often passed along from grade to grade. I've seen students who have graduated with honors from colleges who are lacking in this area, and one wonders how they managed to squeak through their college years never having learned basic spelling and grammar. I have seen resumes from students with degrees in English who have no writing skills. It's pathetic, and yet these kids graduate never having been able to write a well-constructed research paper.
Kate's skills (or lack thereof) unfortunately represent so many students who are passed along, never really having acquired any grasp of Language Arts.
Part of my professional career involved working with adolescent sex offenders, some of whom were pedophiles. They were able to get away with their crimes because family members did not take them seriously, applying the "boys will be boys" label to their behaviour.People didn't like to think that their young relative was capable of committing an unspeakable crime;and they wouldn't talk about it, in hopes that if they remained silent, it would go away.
In all the years that we have watched the Gosselin kids, I don't recall a time when either Kate or TLC reassured us that the children had been appropriately "street-proofed" or taught "good touch-bad touch'. I am hoping that this was done at a very early age, and that it's being reinforced on a regular basis, especially since to my knowledge there are no police checks done on people with whom they have regular contact.
=================
Because, as I noted above, adopting an older, special needs child from this country is not going to get the adoptive parent the glory that adopting an exotic, special needs child of a different race, from a foreign country will get her.
No one is going to know, just by looking at the child, that a same-race child from this country is adopted. That means no public glory to the parent.
Adopting domestically also means that there's no real opportunity for fundraising. Domestic adoption is not exciting, and generally cannot be made to tug at the heartstrings as can an appeal that calls to mind the neglected children of poorly understood countries.
Want to adopt an older, special needs kid? They're all over the place, and if you are eligible to be an adoptive parent, you can have a placement almost immediately. No need for foreign travel, massive adoption expenses, or a fundraising page on a dubious website.
A sincere prospective adoptive parent, with only the CHILD'S NEEDS in mind, does not need to travel internationally to make a difference in a child's life if they do not have the means to finance international adoption. There are plenty of "waiting" children here.
But if you want either money or attention, domestic adoption is probably not going to be your first choice. These interests are others on the long list Clairissa appears to share with her sister Kate.
That seems extremely unlikely. These children have apparently never benefited from ANY thoughtful parenting.
Maybe they'll get this at school. They're certainly not going to get it from their mother. Her only interest in them is in keeping them as babyish as possible, and babies aren't taught "good touch, bad touch".
Sex education, even at the most elementary level, requires acknowledging that your children are people, and maturing beyond babyhood. Neither of these things are of any interest to Kate.
There are programs at school that address this on a regular basis. We don't know what Kate has taught them or hasn't taught them, and we don't know what safety issues Jon has discussed with them because we are not there 24/7. I would certainly hope that, in addition to the programs at school, one or both parents would have made this a primary concern.
As far as background checks on the film crew and other "regulars" in their lives, it is not a mandatory requirement by DOL. Hopefully this will be required in the new labor laws.
Hi everyone, JFYI fundraising for international adoption is the norm today. Google fundraising for adoption and there are many, many sites. Go to any adoption blog and they all have a paypal button. If your church doesn't have an adoption ministery as yet, it soon will. See recent article "The Evangelical Adoption Crusade". www.thenation.com/article/160096/evangelical-adoption-crusade Also, special needs adoption is all the rage, for example see "Reece's Rainbow". Many families bringing one, two, three kids at a time, most with Down Syndrome. Go to reecesrainbow.org check out Sponsor a Family, each family has a blog and are fund raising. I admire many of these families but I also wonder why it's hard to find blogs about families adopting our own special needs foster kids. Also, Ethiopia's adoption was on hold due to suspected child trafficking. Many stories coming out from China as well.
Kate's in bed now. Stress this morning. Who wants to bet she's exhausted because it's such a chore to follow along behind the workers to make sure they're doing everything right. A la
the housekeeper episode - "I don't know who's standards THAT would meet!" as she walked off grumbling instead of picking up the little dust bunny herself. Yeah, that'll stress a person.
When do we get to interview those 70 ppl to see how exciting it was for them at Kate's poolside?
Oh goodness, the poor dear is exhausted again. All that party prep and getting God to send out the sun just so she could make the moneymakers swim in a 68 degree pool for the cameras.
If this episode ever airs, folks, that's not the kids smiling and laughing, it's their teeth chattering. (I live in Texas and even we've had too cool of a spring for pools to be comfortable yet!)
As usual, La Gosselin only answers a few pet sheep and ignores the sad desperate ones sharing things with her she doesn't give a crap about.
Her sister posted a new entry on her fundraising page and described her day today: it did not include any tups or birthday parties. She did mention church, and apparently her church knows they're "trying to adopt" so I wonder why she hasn't received more donations?
A 'Chinese' baby? Well, well....no wonder Kate was talking about 'Korean' orphans. She won't be out-done by anyone especially anyone in her family. The race is on.
Note to Clairissa:
children = $
therefore 8 X $ = more $$$
Got that?
