Admin, not to get too TMI on everyone, but I just have to comment as a lifelong sufferer of headaches and migraines. I discovered early in my marriage, (when we had sex nearly every day, lol), that sex is actually a cure for my bad headaches. I finally Googled it a few years ago, and there have been some studies showing that for a significant portion of people with cluster headaches and migraines that sexual activity (with orgasms) actually does relieve the headache. The release of certain hormones can alleviate, or even stop, the headache pain. That's why I call my husband my "stress reliever". 😉

This is what I can’t seem to understand. This was a TLC employee. Kate has worked under TLC for a decade, they have helped make her famous,they helped her become rich, they have given her opportunity upon opportunity, and she and the kids have experienced things that the average person has not, thanks to TLC.No other network has been interested in her. And she has the nerve to be rude to this TLC employee? I thought the network and the crew daddies were all like family? I sincerely hope that TLC comes to terms that she is not worth their time and permanently wash their hands of her. I’m sure they have plenty of stories to tell.

Monster mom and reviled reality show star Kate Gosselin famously feuded with her ex-husband and lost custody of two of her kids, but now a network publicist claims she is an “awful human” to boot!
Known for berating Jon Gosselin on camera before and after their split and sending potential boyfriends running, an insider spilled that she treated a TLC publicist like dirt!
“Everyone warned me that she was difficult — and I said, ‘No. I’ll compliment her,’” former TLC rep Joey Skladany told Rob Shuter of Straight Shuter.
“At the Today show, I said, ‘Your hair looks gorgeous!’ She wouldn’t even look me in the darn eyes!”
The mother of eight left a lasting bad impression on the TLC publicist.
“At the end of the day, I called my boss and said, ‘She’s an awful human.’ They were like, ‘We know. Thank you for the feedback.’”
Kate’s recent post with just four of her sextuplets on their 15th birthday seemed to be throwing shade at the two not present and, of course, their father.
“Our big celebration of #15 is finally winding down here! We celebrated ALL DAY LONG, beginning with a present at 6:30 am before school! I’m so very thankful for my ‘babies….somehow they are 15 already?! I’m amazed by them each day,” she captioned a photo with just Alexis, Aaden, Leah and Joel.
“I’m so proud of the positive qualities I’ve seen developing as they edge closer to adulthood. It hasn’t been easy for them, especially over the last year and a half, but they continue to persevere, stay positive and make lemonade out of lemons (to the point where I’m pretty sure I’m allergic to lemons, but what’s a mom to do?) but no matter what, these kids keep on keeping on,” she wrote after Jon posted a picture with just Collin and Hannah, the two children who live with him.

Radar reported in August 2018 that Hannah now lives with her dad permanently following a bitter custody battle.
The Gosselins fought for years over troubled Collin, who spent two years in a medical facility until his release last Christmas.
But when Kate was a no-show for a court date in December 2018, Jon was awarded temporary primary custody of the teen, Radar first reported.
A source told Radar that Kate has not reached out to her son since his release from treatment.

As far as the commercials for her Fake Date show, I haven't seen any yet. I don't watch TLC, but I do watch HGTV often, late at night (House Hunters). Now that Discovery owns both HGTV and TLC, I'm seeing a lot of commercials for that new Smothered show (about overbearing mothers?). But, no commercials for the Fake Date with Khate show.
I just took a look ahead on my directv and the lead in shows for the fake date are 2 episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way and her show is followed a rerun of sMothered. Once the 90 Day Fiancé shows are over there will be no reason for people to stick around and watch her show unless they’re just too lazy to change the channel or really want to see it. Her show doesn’t come on until 10 Eastern and people do have to get up for work the next day.

I was discouraged by the thought that they would sandwich the show like that, but having it come on later is just fine with me! True that people have to get up for work, but for many it's summer break. We'll see soon enough how it pans out. I'm hoping for abject failure.

What's to get? TLC is a business. Those with decision-making power have decided that they think she's a good bet to make money for them. They will either be right or wrong. Difficult people are hired every day.

You might be right, but then again, difficult people are also fired every day. A difficult person *might* make it in whatever line of work they are in, but I guarantee they will find doing so harder. I believe how Kate has chosen to conduct herself has made her path harder, despite still popping up on our screens now again, her star has otherwise faded.
I would argue that Kate being difficult has contributed to two straight years of no screen time on TLC, and in the two years before that, sporadic screen time. TLC films her now and again, but it's limited, it's often delayed, it's often treated as back burner filler. In contrast, look how they treat the same people in her "class", the Duggars and the Roloffs. Both families have surpassed her in terms of number of episodes filmed and screen time by leaps and bounds. Neither family has amassed much of a reputation for being difficult like she has.
Barbara Streisand is difficult. Russel Crowe is difficult. But other more positives attributes about them cause people to be willing to put up with the difficult aspects of them. Any which way you slice it, Kate does not have the qualities that tend to make up for behaving like a nightmare talent. To be sure, she still makes TLC enough money for them to bother with her now and again, but not so much that it's worth putting up with her on a regular basis.

I'd just asked whom TFW might be grooming as her new helper(s), and now we see photo credit given to J. I can't remember the last time I saw her type his or his brother A's name(besides their birthday).
I love it that Barb called her on it. The fans don't exist to her for months at a time, and then suddenly it's, hey girlfriends, who's ready to get their summer on? So predictable.
I know we've been knee-deep in reality TV for more than a decade, but there's still something bizarre about TFW promoting this new show as if it's original programming. It's not "Game Of Thrones." TFW already knows what happens in all the episodes.

I also haven't seen any cross-channel advertising for Kate. I watch Velocity and Science quite a bit and see ads for sMothered, Sweet Home Sextuplets, 90 day Fiance, and Dr. Pimple Popper all the time. They used to advertise K+8, but there is absolutely nothing for K+Date. Looks like TLC is just going through the motions knowing Kate is nothing without the eight.

LOL, that Cornwell Casting Facebook page is pretty funny. They’re doing multiple posts Asking if people will be watching the fake date show. They get very few likes and comments and the comments they do get are negative for the most part. One comment I especially likes was:
“Are you kidding me she's back? Oh no please say it ain't so... more of her woe is me single mom of 8... TLC must be hitting the bottom of the barrel.... I will not watch this money grabbing self absorbed selfish all about me boring woman...I'd rather have root canal with no novocane... this is so history.”

Fingers crossed? That's it? Looks like the cameras aren't there and she's missing them. She likes to do lots of filming during the summers, and this is the last summer before Mady and Cara go off to college. Who knows if they'll spend summers at home from here on out? As I said, summer internships are a big thing in college. My boys tend to come home, but we live outside DC. They can commute to their internships in the city (and Mom can do their laundry, cook their meals, iron their shirts and deal with their dry cleaning for them--they appreciate that!). I doubt there's many great internships for the twins close to their home.
Her "fingers crossed" comment reminds me of the exchange in 2017 where she was asked whether there would be a new premier in the fall. Her reply was, "I hope so!". That didn't happen. It took almost 2 years for the next premier, and only 6 episodes.
What's to get? TLC is a business. Those with decision-making power have decided that they think she's a good bet to make money for them. They will either be right or wrong. So someone is making the decision to hold off on filming and it's definitely not her.

If you go further on that casting's twitter, there's tweets looking for men to date a celebrity . These are from last November. That's probably worse than trying Match.com, just having random men answer a casting call. Says ages 35 to 55 and it says from LA NY or Charlotte areas.

I assume the 2 boys also graduated also but they didn’t have pics of them available. Kate posted that random dog days of summer post last night but never mentioned that there was a graduation. So if she had bad ratings, why is she back on TV at all? She actually hasn't hit a million in over three years, according to posts I reviewed. The last several episodes cracked maybe 800-900k.
I don't think the Roloff ratings are leaps and bounds ahead of her, they seem to hover in the 1.4 mil range, but they are consistently slightly higher.

Lololol. So I guess I'm wondering do Kate and TLC know they are chatty Cathy over there posting up a storm, pulling back the curtain on all this? And they're ok with this? I mean, everybody knows this show is fake, but most reality shows try to at least pretend they're not fake.
I went back and looked, and K+8 hasn't hit 1M viewers since 2015. The show came back fairly strong and then went downhill from there. The lowers-rated episode was in 2016 and got 560,000. Our troll claims that Kate is a good bet to make money for TLC. Her low ratings do not make her a "good bet". Add to that her general nastiness and it's a wonder why they bother with her at all.
LOL, doesn't Cornwell Casting realize that their broadcasting this info significantly undermines the "reality" of this reality TV program? In other words: The role of the "matchmakers" in this lame scenario is to sift through the professional actors who expressed interest in this job and pick someone out of whatever they got sent? Figure 8 is making this program, I think they lost the thread a LONG time ago. But that explains why Charlotte is one of the cast-call cities.
Do not misrepresent what I said. I stated that TLC thinks she's a good bet, not that I do. Your lack of understanding of how business works is mind-boggling. It's not a stretch to say that TLC thinks they can make $ off of her show. That's why it is being aired. I don't think your understanding of how TV works is as good as you think it is. You're oversimplifying it. Obviously TLC would be just dumb to think that Kate brings in ratings, as she consistently hasn't for years and years now. Nobody is sitting at TLC peddling that scam. Even you seem to admit you don't believe she would bring in ratings, which would be a fair assessment. TLC is not dumber than you, at least I don't think so.
TLC has lots of hours to fill, and sometimes, it makes sense to just fill them with something quick and cheap, and someone with brand recognition i.e. someone viewers know. Kate checks all those boxes. It might simply be worth it to TLC's BRAND RECOGNITION that when someone says hey whatever happened to that Gosselin show, they can say well here she is in June. They have hours to fill, and a brand to maintain. Everyone knows a small cable network probably only has 2-3 flagship shows if they are LUCKY, that actually turn a profit and bring in ratings, and the rest just fills the hours of otherwise dead air. I would even go so far as to say most cable networks' shows don't make them a dime or bring in any ratings, but they make it up elsewhere. A couple solid seasons of Little People and Duggars and TLC is likely good to go.
They might be willing to do this show even if it gets 200,000 in the ratings, simply for the brand.
I don't think your understanding is as good as you think it is. They can fill hours by showing re-runs. They also can put Kate on the air with yet another clip show and call it new if it's just about "the brand." They are not putting this show on the air to lose money. It's cheap to produce, there is minimal talent to pay and they think they can hit the ratings they need to come out ahead.

Maybe call up TLC and ask to sit in on some meetings about all this, since you're clueless.
1. a network like TLC can't show reruns for all prime time or they're "that network that just shows reruns". Bad financial move. Even the reruns they do show they juice up to maintain interest, adding scenes and facts. 2. a network has to consistently have fresh programming shown on prime time even if it tanks 3. A quick look at ANY cable network's programming will show you that most programs get hardly anything in the ratings, with only a few shows per network doing anything spectacular. The previous link I provided proved that, with some networks like A&E AND TLC only getting a show or two to even place in the ratings.
The only thing I might agree with you on is that they might come out ahead if they can do this show cheaply. That COULD be true, if someone is going to crunch those numbers hard. But this show will never again be TLC's moneymaker. Never.

I was just looking at the graduation photos with Leah and Alexis. It looks like one of the friends in the picture is the friend we see with Hannah. Could Hannah's friend have stayed at her previous school? It's sad that Hannah is not in the photos with them, though I'm sure it's because she's no longer a student. I also wonder if Jon got to attend the graduation. Probably not.

What's really curious about the IG response to her latest post is, she clearly invested in 10K followers last week, around the time of the grad picture post. I completely believe this guy that Kate was nice for him for 30 minutes. Few people are able to walk around being a raging lunatic to everyone at all hours of the day. In fact, it seems to me most narcissists can be extremely nice to a variety of people consistently. It doesn't mean they are not terrible people to others at various times.

She was only saving face for those who had commented, else she would have had NO intention of meeting this guy at all. He certainly didn't wax on about 30 minutes and her "soft side" when he tweeted about it later.

Admin, not to get too TMI on everyone, but I just have to comment as a lifelong sufferer of headaches and migraines. I discovered early in my marriage, (when we had sex nearly every day, lol), that sex is actually a cure for my bad headaches. Monster mom and reviled reality show star Kate Gosselin famously feuded with her ex-husband and lost custody of two of her kids, but now a network publicist claims she is an “awful human” to boot!
Known for berating Jon Gosselin on camera before and after their split and sending potential boyfriends running, an insider spilled that she treated a TLC publicist like dirt!
“Everyone warned me that she was difficult — and I said, ‘No. I’ll compliment her,’” former TLC rep Joey Skladany told Rob Shuter of Straight Shuter.
“At the Today show, I said, ‘Your hair looks gorgeous!’ She wouldn’t even look me in the darn eyes!”
The mother of eight left a lasting bad impression on the TLC publicist.
“At the end of the day, I called my boss and said, ‘She’s an awful human.’ They were like, ‘We know. Thank you for the feedback.’”
Kate’s recent post with just four of her sextuplets on their 15th birthday seemed to be throwing shade at the two not present and, of course, their father.
“Our big celebration of #15 is finally winding down here! We celebrated ALL DAY LONG, beginning with a present at 6:30 am before school! I’m so very thankful for my ‘babies….somehow they are 15 already?! I’m amazed by them each day,” she captioned a photo with just Alexis, Aaden, Leah and Joel.
“I’m so proud of the positive qualities I’ve seen developing as they edge closer to adulthood. It hasn’t been easy for them, especially over the last year and a half, but they continue to persevere, stay positive and make lemonade out of lemons (to the point where I’m pretty sure I’m allergic to lemons, but what’s a mom to do?) but no matter what, these kids keep on keeping on,” she wrote after Jon posted a picture with just Collin and Hannah, the two children who live with him.
“Such good, wholesome, loving, insightful, wise humans and I’m just so proud to call them mine! I love you guys to the moon and back a hundred billion times x infinity. Happy 15th birthday!”
Radar reported in August 2018 that Hannah now lives with her dad permanently following a bitter custody battle.
The Gosselins fought for years over troubled Collin, who spent two years in a medical facility until his release last Christmas.
But when Kate was a no-show for a court date in December 2018, Jon was awarded temporary primary custody of the teen, Radar first reported.
A source told Radar that Kate has not reached out to her son since his release from treatment.

As far as the commercials for her Fake Date show, I haven't seen any yet. I don't watch TLC, but I do watch HGTV often, late at night (House Hunters). Now that Discovery owns both HGTV and TLC, I'm seeing a lot of commercials for that new Smothered show (about overbearing mothers?). But, no commercials for the Fake Date with Khate show.
I just took a look ahead on my directv and the lead in shows for the fake date are 2 episodes of 90 Day Fiancé: The Other Way and her show is followed a rerun of sMothered. Once the 90 Day Fiancé shows are over there will be no reason for people to stick around and watch her show unless they’re just too lazy to change the channel or really want to see it. Her show doesn’t come on until 10 Eastern and people do have to get up for work the next day.
I just Googled about that sMothered show. Very weird. It premieres this Sunday. I think it will be interesting to compare their ratings to TFW's.

Good! I was just going by the information someone else posted. I was discouraged by the thought that they would sandwich the show like that, but having it come on later is just fine with me! True that people have to get up for work, but for many it's summer break. We'll see soon enough how it pans out. I'm hoping for abject failure.

You might be right, but then again, difficult people are also fired every day. A difficult person *might* make it in whatever line of work they are in, but I guarantee they will find doing so harder. I believe how Kate has chosen to conduct herself has made her path harder, despite still popping up on our screens now again, her star has otherwise faded.
I would argue that Kate being difficult has contributed to two straight years of no screen time on TLC, and in the two years before that, sporadic screen time. TLC films her now and again, but it's limited, it's often delayed, it's often treated as back burner filler. In contrast, look how they treat the same people in her "class", the Duggars and the Roloffs. Both families have surpassed her in terms of number of episodes filmed and screen time by leaps and bounds. Neither family has amassed much of a reputation for being difficult like she has.
Barbara Streisand is difficult. Russel Crowe is difficult. But other more positives attributes about them cause people to be willing to put up with the difficult aspects of them. Any which way you slice it, Kate does not have the qualities that tend to make up for behaving like a nightmare talent. To be sure, she still makes TLC enough money for them to bother with her now and again, but not so much that it's worth putting up with her on a regular basis.
Admin, not to get too TMI on everyone, but I just have to comment as a lifelong sufferer of headaches and migraines. I discovered early in my marriage, (when we had sex nearly every day, lol), that sex is actually a cure for my bad headaches. I finally Googled it a few years ago, and there have been some studies showing that for a significant portion of people with cluster headaches and migraines that sexual activity (with orgasms) actually does relieve the headache. The release of certain hormones can alleviate, or even stop, the headache pain. That's why I call my husband my "stress reliever". 😉

I'd just asked whom TFW might be grooming as her new helper(s), and now we see photo credit given to J. I can't remember the last time I saw her type his or his brother A's name(besides their birthday).
I love it that Barb called her on it. The fans don't exist to her for months at a time, and then suddenly it's, hey girlfriends, who's ready to get their summer on? So predictable.
I know we've been knee-deep in reality TV for more than a decade, but there's still something bizarre about TFW promoting this new show as if it's original programming. It's not "Game Of Thrones." TFW already knows what happens in all the episodes.

I also haven't seen any cross-channel advertising for Kate. I watch Velocity and Science quite a bit and see ads for sMothered, Sweet Home Sextuplets, 90 day Fiance, and Dr. Pimple Popper all the time. They used to advertise K+8, but there is absolutely nothing for K+Date. Looks like TLC is just going through the motions knowing Kate is nothing without the eight.

Of course she’s got her “fingers crossed” about filming an update on the tups. TLC has probably mentioned this because they know who the real money makers are....not the twins and not only 4 of the tups. I hope Jon stands firm on this, especially with Collin. I’m sure that the 4 tups living with her get an earful about Jon not letting them film. Maybe Cornwell casting can find her some filler kids....in addition to the “dates” they’ve already provided.

LOL, that Cornwell Casting Facebook page is pretty funny. They’re doing multiple posts Asking if people will be watching the fake date show. They get very few likes and comments and the comments they do get are negative for the most part. One comment I especially likes was:
“Are you kidding me she's back? Oh no please say it ain't so... more of her woe is me single mom of 8... TLC must be hitting the bottom of the barrel.... I will not watch this money grabbing self absorbed selfish all about me boring woman...I'd rather have root canal with no novocane... this is so history.”

Fingers crossed? That's it? Looks like the cameras aren't there and she's missing them. She likes to do lots of filming during the summers, and this is the last summer before Mady and Cara go off to college. Who knows if they'll spend summers at home from here on out? As I said, summer internships are a big thing in college. My boys tend to come home, but we live outside DC. They can commute to their internships in the city (and Mom can do their laundry, cook their meals, iron their shirts and deal with their dry cleaning for them--they appreciate that!). I doubt there's many great internships for the twins close to their home.
Her "fingers crossed" comment reminds me of the exchange in 2017 where she was asked whether there would be a new premier in the fall. Her reply was, "I hope so!". That didn't happen. It took almost 2 years for the next premier, and only 6 episodes.

Why such limited filming for the 3 years prior to that, and why almost 3 years without filming prior to that? Don't they want to make money? Why aren't they filming now? So if she had bad ratings, why is she back on TV at all? She actually hasn't hit a million in over three years, according to posts I reviewed. The last several episodes cracked maybe 800-900k.
I don't think the Roloff ratings are leaps and bounds ahead of her, they seem to hover in the 1.4 mil range, but they are consistently slightly higher.

I went back and looked, and K+8 hasn't hit 1M viewers since 2015. The show came back fairly strong and then went downhill from there. The lowers-rated episode was in 2016 and got 560,000. Our troll claims that Kate is a good bet to make money for TLC. Her low ratings do not make her a "good bet". Add to that her general nastiness and it's a wonder why they bother with her at all.

In other words: The role of the "matchmakers" in this lame scenario is to sift through the professional actors who expressed interest in this job and pick someone out of whatever they got sent? I don't think your understanding of how TV works is as good as you think it is. You're oversimplifying it. Obviously TLC would be just dumb to think that Kate brings in ratings, as she consistently hasn't for years and years now. Nobody is sitting at TLC peddling that scam. Even you seem to admit you don't believe she would bring in ratings, which would be a fair assessment. TLC is not dumber than you, at least I don't think so.
TLC has lots of hours to fill, and sometimes, it makes sense to just fill them with something quick and cheap, and someone with brand recognition i.e. someone viewers know. Kate checks all those boxes. It might simply be worth it to TLC's BRAND RECOGNITION that when someone says hey whatever happened to that Gosselin show, they can say well here she is in June. They have hours to fill, and a brand to maintain. Everyone knows a small cable network probably only has 2-3 flagship shows if they are LUCKY, that actually turn a profit and bring in ratings, and the rest just fills the hours of otherwise dead air. I would even go so far as to say most cable networks' shows don't make them a dime or bring in any ratings, but they make it up elsewhere. A couple solid seasons of Little People and Duggars and TLC is likely good to go.
They might be willing to do this show even if it gets 200,000 in the ratings, simply for the brand.

I don't think your understanding is as good as you think it is. They can fill hours by showing re-runs. They also can put Kate on the air with yet another clip show and call it new if it's just about "the brand." They are not putting this show on the air to lose money. Maybe call up TLC and ask to sit in on some meetings about all this, since you're clueless.
1. a network like TLC can't show reruns for all prime time or they're "that network that just shows reruns". Bad financial move. Even the reruns they do show they juice up to maintain interest, adding scenes and facts.
2. a network has to consistently have fresh programming shown on prime time even if it tanks
3. A quick look at ANY cable network's programming will show you that most programs get hardly anything in the ratings, with only a few shows per network doing anything spectacular. The previous link I provided proved that, with some networks like A&E AND TLC only getting a show or two to even place in the ratings.
The only thing I might agree with you on is that they might come out ahead if they can do this show cheaply. That COULD be true, if someone is going to crunch those numbers hard. But this show will never again be TLC's moneymaker. Never.

I have been single for 7 years now and it just seems like too much work to get out there and meet somebody again. I am always busy with the kids ( as I am sure you can relate to). Besides the older I get the less I am willing to put up with a man’s “bullshit” and wishes.

I believe when H had her own instagram it was somehow brought up by someone that the friend would stay put while H, and now C, would attend a local (to Jon’s house)public school. It must be hard for her being separated by her friends and sibling.

What's really curious about the IG response to her latest post is, she clearly invested in 10K followers last week, around the time of the grad picture post. I completely believe this guy that Kate was nice for him for 30 minutes. Few people are able to walk around being a raging lunatic to everyone at all hours of the day. In fact, it seems to me most narcissists can be extremely nice to a variety of people consistently. It doesn't mean they are not terrible people to others at various times.

IIRC, Kate met up with this guy at the end of her half-marathon in San Diego (June 2012, I believe). PRIOR to that day, when it was made known she would be there, she had made some reply to him on Twitter like "Sure, would love to meet you." Shortly before the event, he reached out again to her on Twitter, and there was NO reply. A bunch of her die-hard fans then got on Twitter and basically said, Uhhh, we hope you're not blowing this guy off. And so he ultimately got to meet her and Skeve near the finish line.

The above criteria, plus asking for an average yearly salary, makes me think Kate is looking for a long-term show (not a long-term partner) from this. She knows the show just hasn't been as successful without Jon, so probably thinks she can replace him with a new guy and everything will be just like it was in 2008. I wonder how much this show cost TLC/Figure 8. It couldn't be cheap.
