So, I'm doing a little digging on the Seewald blog. Seems it came into existance 6, count 'em, 6 days before the announcement of the wedding between his son and the world famous Duggar girl. Hmmmm.

Did he move that blog from a different host or was he jumping on a bandwagon? I'm guessing the later. Free speech, right? I wonder if the Duggars appreciated his spreading the good word. After all, that's what their tv show was for. I'm going to go out on a limb and say there is no love lost between the families, IMO, so I'm not buying the conspiracy theory.

Nothing TLC tries to do surprises me, but I don't believe the public will forget this. I think they're done with the Duggars and all fundy cults. Except the Amish and the Polygamists. cough!

I doubt the Duggars will be back on TV. The disgust people have for this outrageous holier than thou family, does not compare to Kate being so hateful and mean. I doubt the public wants to hear any more of their lies and bigotry and I will bet there is more old Jimboob and Babycakes are hiding. Those kids have never been out in the real world. I feel bad for Jana and Jinger now that they are the "parents" in that household. I can imagine the tension and arguments going on right now in that house. Those kids are probably all being re-blanket trained.

From what I know, which isn't a whole lot, often times people who start committing sexual crimes, like Josh did, at a young age, become sexualized somehow.
And it's not from yelling "Nike!".
They either are victims or witness things and that triggers them to act out on someone else.

Ingrid (previous page), your "Panera" joke was brilliant!

So Jill said August ended "on a sad note" -- like someone's goldfish had died. Talk about downplaying something. I guess you she
couldn't say, "I found out the brother who molested me has been
leading a double life for years, and I sure hope he didn't bring an
STD home to my sister-in-law and her unborn baby."

I think Jill and Jessa are hellbent on trying to figure out how (undoubtedly with Daddy's masterminding) to get their promised
series back on the lineup. Their glorious TFW-like futures of
freebies and vacation and house remodeling and fawning fans
have been ruined by their brother's behavior. If these young
women were really all about spreading the word, losing a TV opportunity would mean nothing to them. Sincerely dedicating
one's life to religion was done long before reality TV, and will
be done long after. Plenty of preaching forums available, if
that's what they're determined to do. Find one and pursue it.

This really hadn't sunk in for me until you mentioned it. If Josh had unprotected sex, then went home and had sex with his pregnant wife, he could have put his baby at grave risk if he transmitted a STD to her and the baby.
Sheesh.

Since Josh is a product of his strict upbringing, and there are 19 kids, I'd say the chances are good there are some others with sexual issues in that family.

I agree with the premise that if TLC was totally done with the Duggars, they would be erased from their web site. It's definitely throw Josh under the bus per TLC. Jon was totally raked over the coals to keep the Gosselin Eight money train going.

I think it is pretty funny that Kate tweets her loneliness in the bedroom is saved by Shoka's snoring. Let's see...it implies that there has been no man in her bed. Hmm. Maybe the rumors are getting to her. And Shoka sleeping in her bedroom now, after all these years, is really far fetched.

Because the sad note she is talking about is the end of the TLC gravy train. She isn't concerned that Josh's career and life is in shambles. I thought the TLC special was good and it should be replayed over and over, not the boy with 8 limbs. This was actually a good piece. And while the Duggar girls could have used this opportunity to be honest about their experience they chose not to. However, even the experts said, most children molested do in fact move forward and get past the awful abuse that occurred in their young lives.

Perhaps they truly did forgive Josh for what he did. I think they thought he had become a new man. So I can see how the family would be more hurt by his latest actions.

I think trust from Josh will likely never be regained. He will always be given a skeptical look, and even though Anna says she has forgiven Josh, she will never forget, especially in the bedroom.

My cousin is a friend of Amy Duggar. I actually just found this out when she sent me a picture of her and Amy from one of her many pre marriage parties. They had wine and were at a local hotspot in Fayettevile this past weekend. Amy has gone to see Anna. She is living in her and Josh's home and Joy is staying with her. Anna is trying to live as normal of a life as possible. They had been staying in the "guest house" for a short time while the Duggar clan remodeled the repo house. Anna was anxious to get the kids back on their routine and get Mackenzie going with school. Everyone thinks Anna is not coping, but according to Amy, second hand of course, after a couple of glasses of wines with her friends. she said Anna is stronger than people give her credit for. Her strength comes from the Lord and the fact that her children need her now more than ever.
The paps are all over Northwest Ark. They are outside the Duggar home, Anna's home. The Stoneybrook home is vacant, but Amy told my cousin Jill and Derrik will be "keeping" the home until someone else needs it or they have made more permanent decsions on their mission work. Apparently Derrick does have some health issues. Not sure if they were known before he left or if he developed them their.

That's all I know from an "insider", if anyone is interested.

I wonder if this official refused marriage licenses to those "living in sin", or those that are adulterers,or those that left their previous husband/wife, etc. I could list a thousand and one sins. Apparently this official thinks it would be a sin for gays to marry. But why is she just targeting gay marriages. I mean if she issues a marriage license to a couple that she knows been living together then what is the difference. I am certain that this official has given many marry licenses to many other sinners. So why is this official just targeting gay marriages. It is so ridiculous. She is not the judge of people. They need to fire her ass. And it is great to know you can violate a judge's order and nothing happens.

Did you know this sanctimonious hillbilly woman is on her FOURTH marriage?

I don't put much weight in that. They could be short staffed in the tech department or have someone new. It might not be as easy as clicking delete to get rid of them. They are prominent on the site and swiffering them could take days. Deleting one thing may mess up another part of the site. It's not a simple blog like this one where it's very easy to delete something just like that. It's very possible they're still "working on it."

If they were still airing the actual episodes that would be another matter.

I believe she's refusing to issue marriage licenses at all. Just so she won't make any mistakes. Actually, I think it's so she won't be accused of discrimination. Or maybe she thinks gay marriage has sullied all marriages, and she's going to prevent any marriages until the Supreme Court sees the wickedness of their ways.

The show that aired before it on TLC, was the season finale of Who Do You Think You Are, which was about Tom Bergeron. That show had 1.617 million viewers and a share of .33.

So I guess the viewers that watched WDYTYA didn't want to stick around and watch a show about child abuse, or the fact that the Duggars were appearing made them change the channel.

From NY Times:

Gov. Steven L. Beshear’s office had no immediate comment on the confrontation. But in July, Mr. Beshear, a Democrat, said their oaths of office bound the county clerks to perform their duties, including issuing marriage licenses. Most clerks were doing so, he said, and “the courts and the voters will deal appropriately with the rest.”

Some lawmakers have discussed the possibility of changes to state law to address the issue, but the governor has said he will not call a special legislative session, so any action would have to wait until next year.

Some same-sex marriage advocates have said that Ms. Davis, an elected official, should be removed from office, but that would be time-consuming and politically difficult in a conservative state. The state Legislature, where each party controls one chamber, could impeach her, but that is considered unlikely.

Officials have said it might be possible to charge her with official misconduct, a misdemeanor; a conviction could result in a court order removing her. The county attorney has declined to take up the question, referring it to the state’s attorney general, Jack Conway, a Democrat who is running for governor. His office has said it is looking into the matter.

TLC stinks said...

From the Lexington Herald-Leader:

U.S. District Judge David Bunning kindly but firmly told Davis Wednesday that in our system her religious beliefs don't trump the rights of the taxpayers who pay her almost $80,000 annual salary.

Sharing Davis' glow is Liberty Counsel, which describes itself as a nonprofit that provides pro bono legal representation related to "religious freedom, the sanctity of life, and the family," funded by tax-deductible donations and grants. In 2012 those gifts reached just over $3.5 million and in 2013 topped $4.1 million, according to IRS filings.

The husband and wife team who founded and run Liberty Counsel, Anita and Matthew Staver, were paid $137,758 and $153,591, respectively, in 2013. The staff of five ran up $184,479 in travel expenses that year and spent $429,584 on conferences, conventions and meetings. Liberty Counsel paid one independent contractor over $600,000 for "email alert services," and another almost $500,000 for printing and mail services. "Case costs," were reported at $105,487.

Liberty's attorneys know they can't win the case in Rowan County. Same-sex marriage is legal since the Supreme Court's June 26 decision and it's Davis' job to issue marriage licenses.

So, why is Liberty Counsel marching alongside Davis in this losing cause? It takes a lot to keep that marketing machine humming and those executives paid, and the only way to keep those donations coming is to stay in the news. For that purpose a losing cause is just as good as, perhaps better than, a winning one.

When a federal judge ordered Davis to issue licenses or be held in contempt of court, the Liberty Counsel advised her to disobey the ruling. Good lawyers don’t usually tell their clients to defy lawful court orders, especially when jail time is a real possibility. Yet the Liberty Counsel didn’t mind putting their client at risk—perhaps because the idea of a middle-aged woman being hauled off to jail for purportedly following her conscience would send thousands of anti-gay Americans reaching for their pitchforks (and checkbooks).

Well, with that little Cosmo blurb, at least we know Kate was working hard at home while the kiddies are away at school.
I don't believe Kate had that hairstyle because it was so easy breezy. I think it took a lot of upkeep with cuts and very involved coloring. I remember Kate talking about how much she loved it and wouldn't change it.
In fact, I remember her saying she had short hair because long hair gave her headaches.
OK...

The reason why the side-by-side haircut comparison is going viral is because of Bieber, not Kate. He's the reason why her timeline is so busy with this vapid news.

Gotta love TFW trying to pretend her "focus" was ever on eight kids.
Her focus was getting Jon to take care of them, getting the helpers
to take care of them, and getting the crew daddies to take care of
them. Oh, and, of course, getting to take trips far, far away from
them -- that was probably her main focus.

At the time when Kate had that hair, she was on the road A LOT, promoting the book Beth wrote, making appearances and just traveling all over with Steve.
It had nothing to do with being easy because she was so busy with the kids.
Kate was busy getting wardrobe and Anne Taylor, tanning, manipedi, working out, etc. etc.
Her look transformed completely and she spent a great deal of time on her appearance.
But, whatever, Kate.

About the Bieber hair:

It doesn't even look all that much like Kate's. If you google pictures of Riker Lynch, you'll see that Bieber's hair is much more like Riker's than it is like Kate's. All are asymmetrical, but the others are much wispier than Kate's.

Riker spent a whole season on Dancing with the Stars, but no one compared his hairdo to Kate's, as far as I know.

It sort of matters in the sense that Josh's family and friends assured the public that molestation was in the past, that Josh was reformed and there was nothing to worry about.

It's not that we, the general public, was saying Josh WASN'T reformed. Rather we were saying, wait a sec---how do you KNOW he's reformed?

Turns out, the public was right all along to question how they know this. And then come to find out Papa Seewald now admits hey I really don't know him that well actually. Would you ask a pretty woman why she's with an ugly man or a hearing man why he's with a deaf woman? Sheesh.

Geez, I have a harder time understanding why she likes him because he's sort of a mama's boy and socially awkward, not because of his height. She might as well ask her that.

That person interviewing the Roloff's is extremely rude and nosy. I don't think she should ask the kids about their parents impending divorce. She is getting very personal with questions to every one. Jacob is no where to be seen. Even during the wedding episode he was shown quickly a few times.

Imagine if Ms. Kelly from FOX got that rude and personal with the Duggars.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

That person interviewing the Roloff's is extremely rude and nosy. I don't think she should ask the kids about their parents impending divorce.

&&&

Absolutely not. The kids seem uncomfortable. Nobody wants to talk about that even adult kids. Not with a bunch of strangers.

I also think she has no business asking two young recently married couples when they're going to have kids. When Zach said three years Tori said wait a second I thought we said 1-2 years. Jeremy managed to avoid the question in a much more round about way, we'll have kids when we have them you rude lady, he's better at handling things like that.

Their parents are sitting right there. Not every young couple wants grandparents to KNOW when they're trying. Next thing you know Mom is calling you every week urging you to take a pregnancy test and getting impatient when it's not happening. She put them on the spot in a completely rude and thoughtless manner, right in front of their parents. I would have told her to shove it. No wonder Jacob hates this crap.

She also asked if Tori and Zach wanted a little person baby. That is a question fraught with drama and extremely personal. It's none of her damn business. It's not like having a normal baby just shorter. Dwarfs are fraught with medical problems. Tori's tone was like, um I want a HEALTHY baby what do you THINK I want? Good grief.

This is one of the worst TLC sit-downs I've ever seen. I'm appalled.

Also she obviously hasn't done her homework about Jacob or she could have asked more specific questions about that. She acted as baffled as a casual viewer about where he went. Um, read his social media. He hates the show. Or is she being deliberately obtuse? What a dolt.

I'm getting the sediments here on the conspiracy theory. I wasn't yesterday but I think it's clear who the mouthpiece is now.

I think there's a couple things going on here. First, the Duggars truly believed Josh was repentant, and now it's clear he wasn't. So, he lied to them.
Second, Josh's AM scandal so close on the heels of the molestation scandal dashed all hopes of saving their show.
In both cases, the family is ticked off and not in the mood to forgive and forget.
This has cost JB millions.

The discussion about did-Josh-reform-or-didn't-he reminds me of
TFW. The abuse she detailed in her journal, when some people
were finally convinced it was her own words, was explained away
as the actions of a frazzled mom, and that she had changed.
But does anyone really know that? Even if the physical beatings stopped, we have seen and read things which, in my opinion,
constitute emotional abuse.

Again, scripted. They did not allow her to ask any questions about Jacob. The canned answer (and only mention of him pretty much) is "he's finding himself"
Proof the Roloff's have a say in whatever gets out there. They don't want to address those issues for the cameras. Divorce, pregnancies, children with dwarfism etc. are all acceptable to them, or they wouldn't have been asked last night.
Yes, no wonder Jacob hates this crap. And they can't make him tow the line as per his family's wishes. He's not even giving them enough material to try and "edit him in"

"Hey, America, we're just as mad at Josh as you are -- even

where it belongs: on our pretty daughters Jill and Jessa, and all
the adorable babies they're gonna have! Don't y'all want to

It's interesting that we've heard from both Duggar daughters on social media.

The twins were given an extra 5 minutes in the "fluff" cycle before that interview.
They quick changed focus and threw total 6-year old softball questions to the twins to make them comfortable.
I'm sure the topic of Jon was off the table after the Today show disaster.
Had the Today show gone as planned, I think The View would have focused on Jon, his dating, the revolving door of women etc.
As is stood, the only talking point they got in on The View was how much harder the divorce was on poor Kate than on them, you know, the little collaterally-damaged children.

I am hoping that the public doesn't forget Josh's TRUE crime--molesting underage children. The AM scandal seems to be at the forefront-people have a short memory but I hope they remember what he did.

I may go to hell for this, but when thinking about Josh, this hymn comes to mind,
So with that in mind, here's a song for ya to hum all day...

Shackled with a heavy burden,
'neath a load of guilt and shame.
Then, the hand of Joshee touched me,
And now, I am no longer the same.

Oh, Josh touched me, oh Josh touched me,
And Jim Bob and Boobkins, said, please don't tell a soul.
Something happened, and now I know,
Josh touched me, and made me stained.

Since I became Joshee's conquest,
Since he groped and made me tainted
I will never cease to avoid him,
I'll shout NIKE until eternity rolls.

Oh, Josh touched me,
Oh, Josh touched me,
And oh, the dread that fills my soul.

Something happened, and now I know
Josh touched me, and made me stained.

(sorry, the devil made me do it!)

&&&&

The tone in their voices has changed. They thought they were going to weather the first storm. Now they know they're f--ed. And, because they actually are not sincere at all about being loving and supportive of their own flesh and blood brother (he's not "extended family", girls), they've left him in the dust this time around.

They're, in a very unChristian way, pissed as h-ll at him. It's obvious. The one that is lost came between them and easy street. Them and greed. Them and fame.

You know it strikes me that for all his sins they claim to abhor so much, they're guilty of some pretty big sins themselves.

Paula said...

Thought I'd pop back in because I miss the conversation (not politics, though). The Duggars are despicable. No true Christian would turn on someone in their darkest hour. Josh needs help, not judgment - especially from his family. I also wonder would Josh get so pissed off at his family that he would "spill the beans" on what has gone on in that house? 'Cause I do believe there are lots of skeleton in that Duggar closet.

Admin (#148), I think those girls are livid that their glamorous,
prosperous futures were demolished by their brother's actions.
Think back to before the molestation scandal -- that family was
white hot on TLC. It seems like a no-brainer that the sisters
were going to get their own spin-off. Two young couples, two
new babies -- a built-in audience of fans ready to salivate over
every move? Oh yeah, that was in the bag.

It would make sense that Jessa is the angriest. She probably
won't be getting her People magazine cover when her baby is
born, with the big ol' paycheck for the first pictures. She won't
have some deluxe baby registry, with her every need met by
generous fans and sponsors. But, if these girls are sincere
about their mission to spread the word, they'll be able to suck
it up and move on. Actions speak louder than tweets and
blog posts and selfies. We'll find out soon enough if they
can actually walk the talk.

It's like reading the comments on Christian sites. On topics such as the Duggars, Josh molesting 5 girls (that we know of) and Kate selling her children, there is always a back of forth of negative comments, and Christians chiming in about "throwing stones".
Always.
No exception.

It seems to me that waggling a finger at those who voice their dissent is indeed, waggling a finger!
It's judging.
What's the difference?

Chiding anyone for saying something negative is in and of itself, judging.

So simple, yet it escapes so many of the High and Mighty Pious.

redbird said...

ITA about bigger things coming out. I just think it is crazy that when Josh molested his sisters, Jim Bob waited till the SOL ran out then went and talked to the State Trooper. He was arrested and sentenced to decades in jail for pornography. Then the "Christian Counselor" who he remodeled basements for was arrested for sex crimes.

Bill Gothard, their leader in their church was forced to resign for sexually harassing over 30 young women for a while and is now back at the helm. Then when AM hit the fan, Josh is now supposedly at a "rehab" that he will do hard labor, read the Bible and pray for hours a day. But that place has the director? protecting a man who had done something to a young girl from the law, sent him out of the country?

Every time you turn around there it is a sex scandal. I have never seen anything like this before. It is horrible, just horrible!!!

Ma and Pa have to be more upset about Joshie's cheating and being unfaithful to Anna because the molestation against his siblings puts a very bad light on their way of Gothard life and teachings. Even Gothard was forced to resign when he was accused of over 30 charges of sexual harassment. The state trooper that Jim Bob talked to in jail for decades. The man who "Christian counseled Josh by overseeing him remodel houses" was arrested for something sexual. And now the place he is suppose to be is hiding a man who sexually did something to a young girl? Is this what Jim Bob meant on the interview with Kelly that he knew of MANY families that have it much more worse than what happened here. What is sickening is Meghan didn't even ask him a follow up question on that. She let it slide by. And Gothard managed to get back at the helm. Why would you stay in a cult that it is ok for the leader to sexually harass over 30 young girls?

It's horrible, just horrible! And I feel bad for Jana, Jinger and especially Joy who was the one who drew the short straw to have to go and live with Anna and the babies while Joshie gets fixed.

Why put that on a young girl? She should be doing what she wants to do! Dating, what dress to wear to prom, graduating high school, checking out college campuses. Jim Bob and Michelle would die and go to hades before that would happen. No, I take that back! They would cut that one instant black sheep out of their lives so instead of being in hades they could be here on earth to control the other dozen and a half or so lives.

Agree, that is why they have quieted down. Big Thing or Things coming out!

Hey, the Roloffs get no sympathy from me. They put their lives out there. I say have at it. They got paid a boatload of money for this interview (I'm guessing) no point in being coy now. The whole point of the show was to "educate" people on how little people live.

====

I broke my no-TLC rule and watched an hour of the Roloff interview (and for that I am ashamed). It would seem Andrea Canning went to the Baba Walters Institution of Meddling Journalism. Some of her questions were quite intrusive, but I agree, the Roloffs signed up for the interrogation and were warned it was going to be no-holds-barred.

I was pretty put off by Amy. I flipped away from the show after she pointed her blaming finger at Matt for the fuckety billionth time. What a whiner. She said she never wanted to do the show in the first place but I notice she sure stuck around to reap the rewards. In spite of all the digs she threw at him, Matt restrained himself and didn't lash back at her. IMO he's always been much more affable than Amy. She's a brat.

Admin, you always keep me guessing. You would have loved a hard ball interview like that with Jon and Kate, or if Megyn had hit harder with the Duggars. I watch LPBW, followed the blogs. They are no better than any other reality TV family. Audrey has already quit her job. She and Jer have blogs telling people how to live a Christian life, and Jacob has already told us what fakery the show has been.

That aside, I actually thought she did a pretty good job with the interview. I think the questions were asked with compassion and people would generally want to know what Tori thinks about the possibility of having a dwarf baby. Zach did not seemed bothered, nor did Jer. In fact, Jer and Auj will probably consider it a race because it will ensure several episodes and lots of money.

I really don't get your reaction at all, but whatever.

I wonder when do they have actual therapy then. Man, I would want a lot of therapy if I was Josh and I don't see that happening when he is gone for 40 hours or more a week volunteering somewhere. Right? Easiest thing on earth to make. Plus, why is she reading her own recipe? I thought 'real cooks' don't have to read recipes???

Well, the Duggars REALLY won't appear on DWTS. Dancing to them is a sin. I recall once Michelle was talking about some little kids in a school room that she was visiting and the little kids were dancing. Michelle said something about the kids doing "exercises." She looked very uncomfortable. Nike!

She actually included a recipe for applesauce in a cookbook? Oy vey!

And why is she peeling the apples? I should sell her my recipe for pink applesauce. SMH
