Kirkland. You should look into river cruises. My parents did a 21 day one thru Europe last summer. They had a fantastic time. There were trips you can add on to the beginning and end too. You get off the boat and tour the cities. They did the Viking cruise line but there are others as well. My travel agent is with a company called Cruising Co. They usually book through a different river cruise company. My TA loved it! My dad put it best, he said it was like your hotel travelled with you and they only had to unpack once. (The did stay on land in the beginning so really twice).

Re: "Tiny Bubbles". There was a show several years ago called "The Mole" (not the celebrity version) where 8 or 10 people competed together to solve puzzles and complete tasks. One of them, of course was a mole whose job it was to put them off course. Anyway, if anyone goofed up, he or she got some punishment dreamed up by the producers. The contestant could choose between a punishment that would be unpleasant, or they could choose to drop down in their rankings in the game. Most chose the punishment.

One guy was "sentenced" to solitary confinement for 24 hours. The only thing he could do was lie on his bed. For entertainment, the producers piped in "Tiny Bubbles" nonstop. For variation they would speed it up to chipmunk pace, or slow it down to long yawn speed, or any random speed in between. For 24 HOURS - STRAIGHT.

I'm ashamed to admit I laughed hysterically at his torture, knowing it only seemed interminable. There was an escape route he could have chosen at any time. He chose to stick it out the full sentence.
I can't think of that song without having that story screaming in my
brain. And then I start laughing all over again.

I second this! We did a two week tour with Ama Waterways and plan another longer trip next year. Ama was fantastic and I'd use them again in a heartbeat. You can add on days before and after the trip. I have a friend doing a 3 week river cruise beginning in Barcelona and going throughout Europe. There are many river cruise lines available with a variety of trips. I'm tempted to take one to the European Christmas markets in the winter! Have fun!

I looked at the closeup photo of her in the bikini. I had no idea her belly button was within a few inches of her boobs. I know she can't help it because of the tummy tuck, but gosh almighty, I'd wear a one-piece suit. That navel looks like an alien experiment gone bad.

I know she wants to look sexy and flaunt it, and make Milo drool, but there are many suits available that look classy, flattering and much more appropriate. She looks like a pole dancer in that suit. How much for a lap dance?

Can't remember which but it was In the first or second season of J&K+8 when TLC took the family to some beach for a vacay. Kate wore a two-piece, Duggar-ish style swimsuit. She seemed to be almost camera-shy (for once). She, too was pale and hadn't yet given birth to the girls on her chest.

I know I'm late to the poor Colin's gift reception. I didn't see him shopping. That would have made it extra heartbreaking for me. Poor kid. He does everything he can for his mother to be accepted, and nothing works. He is the biggest helper, and the hardest worker, and he clings to her, and she still treats him like shit. It's not worth it, Colin. You can't make somebody love you no matter how you try. And the more you try, the worse the offender treats you. Her reaction to her gift was beyond horrifying. Shame upon shame for Kate.

Wanted to note that Leah started crying during the "prank", real tears, saying she never gets to spend time with tfw. hmmmm....
how is that possible? If it's always been and always will be just "me, alone, with eight kids, all by myself"
She's either always gone or even if she's "there" she's not engaged. She may be physically there, but she's not mentally there. I don't think it's just in Mexico that she forgets she has EIGHT kids

Mady makes the "bratty terror kids" of reality tv. Congrats Kate (and a little shame thrown to Jon).
Kate had normally-pigmented skin back when she and Jon went to Florida. She was really, really stupid for not protecting her skin from burn.
She's gone from bad, to worse, tanning in beds for years now. There's never a time she looks pale, so it appears she keeps a base tan and intensifies it when she's hitting the "sun and sand", like in Mexico.
By March, fair-skinned people like me and Kate are very pale.

There is no question whatsoever that tanning beds increase deadly skin cancer. None at all.

Yes, there is the notion that people look "healthier" tanned, but the fact is, tanned skin is damaged skin.

Sunshine is good in measured quantities. We need it to make Vitamin D. But, for vanity's sake, it can be deadly.

At least Deanna looked like she didn't try to get a tropical tan or spray one on before she went to Mexico.

Oh, and apparently, Andrea is the new Ashley. I bet Ashley is just sitting back, waiting for Andrea's breakdown to happen ;-)

Kate looks ridiculous with her t*ts hanging out. Locked and loaded is a great way to put it!
I think it irks her-just the idea of not tanning every inch of skin she can if she's out in the sun. She'd never be caught wearing a tasteful one piece. Not even for filming.
And no, sheep, I'm not jealous. Kate has a nice body, given her pregnancies, tummy tuck, boob job and lipo. She sacrifices food for her figure, so her will power is strong.

But then Leah said Mommy never spends time with them and Hannah said seeing Mommy was the reason she wakes up everyday??? (I watched on- demand, and kind of fast-forwarded- it was quite boring, maybe since it focused on Kate)

But the Collin gift incident was as poignant as described by others when he was so thankful to be able to barter for the bear and cub, and as vile as anything when Kate dismissed his gift as' off the wall' and strange...did she even say thank-you?

The mud-mobiles were weird- Kate was definitely sulking. And Mady- oy, she has issues. For both of them I am reminded of the Taylor Swift ( a BFF!) song that goes "Why d'you gotta be so mean?"

And I bet Milo could barely contain herself when the camera zoomed in on Leah and she hid her face because she was crying! Good times!! Yeah! Do it again, Kate. And I only got two, two!!! Why, oh why, didn't I take them all???? Who cares if there are people with large families and small incomes who could benefit from that price, right? I'm so mad at myself!!

Let's throw tomatoes said...

That " you're so mean" reminds me of a few months ago I was given a ticket by a policeman. I was innocent, I didn't break any laws, and I explained that to the officer. At the end I asked him are you giving me a ticket and he said yes and I blurted out " you're so mean". I'm so good at defending myself!! LOL. Ticket was $250.

I'm so happy the SC ruled for Same Sex Marriage. It's about time!

I wish that animal lovers would unite and get the SC to pass strict national laws on animal abuse. Everyday horrific acts whether it's beating a dog with a shovel and burying them alive, setting them on fire, taping their mouth shut with tape, skinning a dog, or kicking them to death and on and on . Many times by their own owners.

There are two things that might curb these acts of violence against these innocent furry babies, jail time or hit them where it hurts the most the pocketbook. Some guy got probation for burning his dog with hot water! Asshole.

But the worst one is that beautiful, intelligent beagles are legally caged their whole lives so they can test makeup and other products on them . When they are done with them they put them to death. They never got out of those cages. That is ABSOLUTELY heartbreaking.

Formerly Duped said...

Yes! I hate all the animal abuse in the world. I agree fines and stricter punishments are definitely warranted. So many species are abused, some for 'reasons' like the make-up testing, some random acts of cruelty. My main cause was for freedom for circus elephants. The videos of their 'training' and living conditions are heart-wrenching. Ugh. We're the 'meanest' species.

Really impressive--looks like they want people to donate to their 'ministry' (oops, meant 'vacation to Nepal')

I disapprove of how churches and ministries think you have to go out of the country to share the gospel, etc.
There is such a need, most of the time, of their neighbors-older people need money for meds, a/c, home repairs. Kids need clothing, school supplies, dental care; list goes on and on.
It amazes me that so many think they have to go to another country to help people when there is such a need in their own community. (and going abroad is ok, but most teen ministries, etc, have to go somewhere fun.We had a church in our community go on a 'mission trip' abroad, and what a coinki-dink, they also got to attend the Olympics! geez, ya know they didn't plan THAT.

I haven't watched the latest Kate plus 8 episode and I'm not sure I will. Reading the comments about Collin's gift just breaks my heart. I can't understand how any mother can react that way to a gift picked out for her by her child.

One of the most precious gifts I received is something I got from my 8 yr. old granddaughter last Christmas. The summer before, I had taught her to sew by hand, and together we made a little purse and decorated it with sequins and buttons.

For Christmas, she took a patch of felt and sewed on buttons, sequins and small shapes(i.e. triangles, circles, etc.). She then, by herself, organized a hunt with clues leading to where my gift would be found. She not only put so much effort into just the sewing part, but the clue part was very original and took me all through her house looking for my final gift.

When I finally found the gift, I was moved to tears. My granddaughter told me that she made that gift for me because she was grateful that I taught her to sew, and that she wanted to show her appreciation for my teaching her.

I can't comprehend a mother like Kate. To make light of or a joke about a gift that your child gave you, just shows that she has no empathy for her children. In my world, any gift you receive from a child is the most precious gift ever.

But then I'm not Kate--Thank God!!

Why did he give you a ticket if you were innocent? I hope you pleaded not guilty and went to the hearing to prove your innocence!

Yesterday, I did the dumbest thing. I was at the grocery store and as I neared the check-out I saw a shopping cart full of boxes of Cheerios all marked down to $1 each, the large 12 oz. size. I remember that. She said she never went out in the sun because she burned so easily and then proceeded to sit in the sun and got sunburned.

The one I meant was when they took the kids to the beach and a big windstorm came up and started blowing sand in the kids' faces. Kate stood on the shoreline and screamed at Jon like it was HIS fault, as usual. She was wearing a fairly modest swimsuit (pre-good bra) that I don't think she'd be caught dead in these days. The pendulum has sure swung the other way with that broad. Both of them..

AuntieAnn (#75), I do remember the episode you're referring to.
TFW stomped, whined and pouted like Vicky McVictim about

My sister watched that three hour special of Kate's the other night. And she said that Kate did not narrate it. It was a man that did it. Secondly, she said that all the clips showed Kate as super nice and loving. The only exception was the clip when she went out with Jamie for her birthday. The doorman said he needed a smile and Kate said that he would not be receiving one from her. And thirdly she said that Jon was in numerous clips shown. Though he did very little speaking. And none of the clips showed Kate being mean or rude to him at all. TLC really sanitized that three hour special. And as we all know that is unlike TLC. In the past they have shown numerous clips of Kate being her ugly self. I wonder if they are trying to push a nicer Kate to promote her to replace the Duggars.

Reading about Kate's dismissal of C's gift reminds me of something. My best friend recently flew down to visit me and brought her niece and nephew. They're a very close family and all week the kids looked for things to bring back for their other aunt and uncle, cousins, grandparents, and parents. Each item was carefully picked by the kids. It made me smile to watch them find things they knew their relatives would love.
The day before they left I took them to a bunch of touristy shops to pick up any last minute treasures. I was helping the girl pick out a shirt for herself when I realized neither of the kids had gotten anything for their mom. I mentioned it to the girl and asked what her mom would like. She said, "I'm not getting her anything. She won't like what I get." I thought maybe she just hadn't found anything for her mom yet, so mentioned a whole list of things (shirt, magnet, jewelry, etc) and it was a no go. I later asked the boy what he was going to get his mom and he said the same thing. "She doesn't like anything we buy her. She won't use anything we bring back." I didn't want to press the issue because they were both obviously hurt by it. I privately asked my friend later about it, and she confirmed what they said. She won't even put a magnet on the fridge if the kids got it for her. I can't wrap my head around a parent who acts like that.

I didn't watch the show and have no desire to do so. I am curious, though, about the gift that Collin selected. Someone on Kate's TL tweeted that Kate told Collin that his gift was stupid. Did she actually say "stupid," and if so, was it to his face, or during the couch interview?

Was this a plush bear, or a ceramic figurine?

For those of us whose mom was there all the time, we took it for granted that mom would make us breakfast and that we'd be able to spend time together.

Uh, no, and especially not in the mall where Kate would go. I would never in a million years, put two 14-year-olds in charge of six younger children in a mall. Then again, when it comes to security at places like that, I'm a real Mama Grizzly. Moreover, those children are easily recognizable and easy targets. Steve and his crack security team could take them, however.

Future RN (#91), that was a sad story about those kids. They
clearly have been made to feel "less than" by their mother. It's
hard enough to think that strangers might make children feel
badly about themselves. But to get that insecurity from the
one human being you hope will love you unconditionally can
really do a number on your psyche.

What I suspect might've been particularly painful for C is that his
mother made a fuss over the other gifts. It's not that Mom doesn't
like gifts -- it's that Mom didn't like HIS gift. Poor sweet boy.

I, too, wondered years ago about why TFW didn't use sunscreen on that Florida trip they took for Jon's birthday. The way I heard it then was that TFW didn't like the feel of sunscreen. We all know she ruined the trip with the sunburn. Sure took the attention off of her dear husband, didn't it? So many examples we could site. Yes, that trip was prior to the boob inflation. Laughable, if not so pathetic.

It was a cute ceramic or stone bear ( mama) with a hollow where the baby bear could nestle, and Collin said it was Kate and him. All she had to say was 'where are the other 7 ' and the gift was ' cute' (condescendingly) but off-the-wall. She wasn't shown hugging him or thanking him.

Collin put a lot of effort into choosing it, and was so happy when the seller agreed to a much lower price- showing that his gift was maybe better quality than the knick-knacks some of the kids bought although they were all nice. Apparently Kate likes turtles? Three kids selected turtle items. Leah or Alexis found a tiny bird that looked like Zorro and 3 girls chipped in for a platter.

Geez, I loved all the gifts my kids ever made or bought for me. Later their school had a little holiday shopping bazaar where things were a quarter or so- was happy they knew me so well and learned to shop meaningfully and were happy to get gifts I l would enjoy. What is wrong with Kate! Or the mother posted about above.

I need advise from all of you. I live in an apartment and discovered black looking stuff on the ceiling and wall behind my a/c air filter in my a/c air duct. Note it is about two inches wide on the ceiling part and about 2 inches wide at the top of the wall right below the ceiling part. It is about 10 inches long. And of course the mold is in the crease from where the ceiling and wall meet. The a/c air duct (where mold was) is made of the same walls in my apt. I took many photos of it and had about 5 people in my building look at it and they all agreed it is mold. Also right underneath the mold looking stuff on the wall is a large old, dry water stain. To me that screams that it must be mold because water on sheetrock makes mold.

For the past 6 months or so, my chest has an extreme heaviness feeling and I also have a deep, dry, honking sound cough. Also I have nasal stuffiness and a burning throat that antihistamines and nasal spray does not help. I mean I am sick and feel terrible.

So I called the manager and she came out with two maintenance men. Both said it was not mold. I asked them what was the black stuff was then. He said the insulation (wall is shared with my neighbor) was black when they built the apartment and it was just the insulation showing through.

I told them that I did not want the stuff cleaned because IF it is mold I didn't want the spores or cleaning solution going throughout my a/c system. They agreed to cut out both the wall part and ceiling part out and replace with new sheetrock. They told me I needed to leave for four hours. Stupidly I did and did not ask why.

When I came home the apt. reeked of a chemical smell and where the black stuff was now covered with a heavy layer of white mud (joint compound). The smell went away after an hour or so. The white mud stuff makes sense because when they put in the new sheetrock they needed to use the mud. Anyway, I provided a very large hefty bag and a plastic tub for them to put the cut out walls so I could take it to be tested for mold. And I stressed this point to the maintenance men several times.

Well, I found a company to test for it but they said I needed to just bring a 2"X2" sample of the wall. I could not bring the bag with the cut out walls to them. So later that night I took the tub outside and took the bag out and cut into the bag. In it was ONE piece of drywall only. It was the wall part because I could see the very large old water stain. Well, I was furious. Where was the ceiling part that also had the mold? I could see from my photos how much black stuff was there before they did the cutting yet in the bag there was probably half of the black stuff. So the next day and both the manager and maintenance man came out. I told them to take the one piece of wall out of the bag. I asked where was the ceiling part. The manager asked the maintenance man if he threw it away in the dumpster in the parking lot. He said yes. Common sense tells me that is probably a lie. Why throw the wall part in the provided bag but then get off the ladder to go throw the ceiling part out in the dumpster in the parking lot. Why not just throw both parts in the bag that was right next to him? So we went inside to look at the joint compound stuff. The manager said she believed the maintenance man. Well, I thanked them and left it at that. I dropped the mold sample off and it will be several days before I have a report on it.

But it has been 6 days and I am no better physically. I keep thinking the mold is still there on the ceiling being covered up by the heavy layer of joint compound (mud). If the sample does come back as mold I am afraid the spores are all through my apartment and still being circulated. So, any suggestions on what I should do? My lease is not over until 9 more months How can I see if there is still mold under the heavy layer of mud? Any suggestions?
Thanks so much for your comments.

If you want to see a good movie that's in the theaters right now, check out Love & Mercy. If you don't know the background of Brian Wilson, it could be a bit confusing, but it's really excellent. I admit that I was surprised just how good it is.

I just went to the TLC website and they have 4 videos of interviews from a CBS news interviewer called Digging In with the Duggars. SOFT COTTON CANDY Questions. On the first one, Jessa and Ben, Michelle and Jim Bob, JOSH AND ANNA and all the kids are all sitting on the couches and she asks Josiah about courting. Then in another video she asked Ben and Jessa about their honeymoon and Ben said at the end they were getting homesick, I think just after a couple of days. He said that they wanted to hear an American accent. He said that all the English over there was in British!!

What a scholar. Josh and Anna looked so very uncomfortable. I am wondering if this was made after KellyGate. The video that I posted earlier left out the incident of Josh molesting when they were outside playing hide and seek.

The Christmas decoration of a Mason jar lid with a picture of a real horse's head with a red string that my youngest made. A 2 paragraph letter that my oldest typed up in 10 minutes and is grades helped him earn his 2nd year in college paid for his sophomore year. My middle sons story about his dog being a wonder dog. It won a prize. My oldest son wrote a story about his grandmother about the day that JFK died. He was only in the 5 or 6 grade and it got 2nd place and was published in a book with other students poems that won in the county.

What mother would throw a book out that had a winning poem from their child? Kate Gosselin would.

Not a horrid mean bitch like Kate, but neglected her kids due to her drug use. The kids had to come to her if they wanted her attention. Weird. No wonder Leah said she doesn't spend time with the kids and Hannah looks forward to seeing her- I get the feeling she is not accessible after school or in the evening.

Tomatoes, I had an MRI about 10 years ago. I'm not claustrophobic and it didn't bother me. (But Tucker reminded me about that knocking--had forgotten how loud it was.) I need advise from all of you. I live in an apartment and discovered black looking stuff on the ceiling and wall behind my a/c air filter in my a/c air duct.

==============

It does sound like mold, and it could definitely be making you sick. My niece lived in an older apartment her first year in college and was sick the entire year with respiratory type issues. She and her parents were all pretty sure it was mold. The next year she moved and got better.

Mold removal can be very expensive, I've heard. Undoubtedly the apartment wants to cover it up and ignore it. Is there a local public health agency you could consult?

Flimsy, I think you're dead on with that one. She's demonstrated a million times that she doesn't like most of her kids but since they're her only source of income she has to put up with them and share living space when not filming. I'm confused about the tummy tuck. They had to remove a butt load of skin. That belly button would be in the middle of the mess.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

Ok.. Let's settle this BB thing once and for all. Everyone is born with a BB in a particular place. It is permanently attached to your body. A tummy tuck DOES NOT RELOCATE IT. The skin is loosened and stretched over the original BB. The extra skin is discarded and the doctor simply snips the a small hole where the belly button is and stitches it in place. You can opt not to have the new hole cut, but then your new belly looks kind of weird. TFW was born with a high placed BB. It hasn't changed location. That's impossible.

Really weird. She wants a shout out from the performers at the show. Good luck with that. I'm sure that they will stop the concert, and HER girlfriend's (Jenny McCarthy) husband will grab the mic and say, "Please give a warm welcome to Brenda from PA. We are all excited that she's here with us today." The crowd will then stand up, break into wild applause, and Uggs will take a bow, smile and wave, and blow kisses.

Geez. She really needs man in her life.

Sue Buddy asked, "Is it sad? I read a book about him and his father treated him so terribly I'm not sure I could deal with seeing anything about that. Does it have a lot of the Beach Boys music?"

-----------------------

It's sad in the sense that the dark period in Brian's life was tragic, but it doesn't end on a sad note. It's not a happy, happy, good feeling movie of surf music, the beach, sun, sand and summer fun.

It's not a mini concert. It's a psychological profile on the life of Brian, his drug use, his father's dominance, the marriage to his second wife, and most of all, the Eugene Landy era (the psychologist hired by his family to help him through depression, weight gain, drugs), followed by Landy's control of everything Brian and the subsequent firing of the psychologist after he took over Brian's life. Interspersed throughout the movie, of course, is music through the various stages in the Beach Boys career. It really is worth seeing...very well done.

Rhythm asked (92)...Someone on Kate's TL tweeted that Kate told Collin that his gift was stupid. Did she actually say "stupid," and if so, was it to his face, or during the couch interview?

Sometimes, though, what we think is mold turns out to be something else. However, notify your landlord if the test is positive. Give them X amount of time to fix the problem. They will need to call a professional restoration company that employs technicians who have been certified in the removal of mold. If they fail to do that, then you need to call the health department to find out what to do. If you need to move out during the mold removal process, you will need to see who will be responsible for funding the bill for temporary housing. If it's not widespread, you can stay there. It it's just in one area, they can block off the area that they are mitigating.

However, if this has become serious enough, it might be a good idea to vacate until this is taken care of. Depending how bad it is, the techs will come in with full respirators and Tyvek suits. Just cutting out the drywall, spackling, and bleaching will not remove the mold. It will continue to grow.

Just because the color is black doesn't mean it's black mold. I know that sounds strange, but different types of fungus throw off various colors. It could appear as black, but just be a harmless mold.

Good luck, and just keep written documentation of everything, including photos!

Usually, she's just garden-variety nasty, but look at all the layers of this one:

--"It's you and me." -- even beyond simply symbolic, it was actually representative of the two of them specifically.
--Her callous indifference to it
--Her snide and belittling comments to him at the time
--Her over-fawning on the other gifts, dark contrast to her reaction to his
--meaning his was singled out deliberately.
--Her making sure to have fun with it at his expense in the couch interviews. No remorse whatsoever.
--Then, not just to an audience of two or three close friends, but to half a million viewers, which could have been a million or more.

"While most of the nation spent Friday rejoicing at the Supreme Court’s decision that the right to marry extends to gay couples nationwide, the Duggars were busy praying for God to grant forgiveness to sinners. In a post to the family Facebook page, they quoted a biblical passage saying, “If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.”"

Seriously, is TLC really going to give these hateful bigots their show back so they can resume their bully pulpit?

Thanks for the reply. I might go see it. Do they say much about Brian's second wife? Many years ago I used to know someone by that name when I lived in So. Calif.

Another narc/abuser tactic. YOU cant take a joke YOUR response and reaction to it is what's wrong!

**********************************************************************

I married into a family for whom teasing and joking is a blood sport and as a result I am fairly quick to spot the passive aggressive nature of teasing.

As you said Vanessa, they make it seem that your response and reaction is your fault and not theirs if you find their teasing to be crossing boundaries. A lot of teasing is meant to hurt, to denigrate or diminish. Kate's " joke " was meant to make the kids feel left out or abandoned once again so that she could laugh at their reactions. She is sick.

Looking for some suggestions from this helpful group. I am going to San Francisco for a week in August with my 17 year old son. The tentative plan is to spend about half the time in the city and half the time renting a car and driving in the general area of the Redwoods, which I have always wanted to see. So, suggestions of what to see in the city over those few days (especially anything related to the Grateful Dead-my son is a huge fan), as well as what's the coolest place to view the redwoods (i.e. Sequoia Nat. Park, Muir Woods, Redwoods Nat. Park, state parks, etc). Thanks-this is a great group of very helpful people.

Does anyone know what Kate is referring to in her Mexico trip: she is relaxing from that busy trip? What busy trip is she talking about. This woman does not make sense most of the time and neither do her lackey fans.

getoftweeter said...

I think what that one tup girl was referring to when she said: I want to see you when I wake up in the morning, is it possible Kate takes off early in the morning, and the kids wake up to a nanny/hired help, a lot. Is it possible Kate is off to NYC, MD or just takes off to anywhere, and does not tell the kids where she is going. After all Kate did admit that she does not give any of the kids the phone number to her phone. So the kids can not bother her in whatever she is doing. Perhaps Kate is living a secret life. I really don't know how she can have so much laundry pile up, when she has 2 washers & 2 dryers, and all day 5 days a week to do the laundry. There are lots of people who have as many kids as she does and more and a lot don't have a washer & dryer and have to go to the laundromat to do the wash. And they work a full 8 hour job and sometimes 2 jobs. And Kate complains about the laundry? WTF does she do all day? Or is Kate living a secret life of some kind? Or taking off for a couple of days, and not tell anyone? Maybe a secret love vacation? JMO

I, too, wondered years ago about why TFW didn't use sunscreen on that Florida trip they took for Jon's birthday. The way I heard it then was that TFW didn't like the feel of sunscreen. We all know she ruined the trip with the sunburn.
***************************************************************************
I also remember her saying "I love the sun, but the sun doesn't love me" in a pity type voice. What a loser.

If you watch this episode on demand every commercial break includes an ad for some flex belt which looks like the waist trainer that Kim K and Kim Zolciak have advertised to reduce their waist size. Sort of funny and ironic given K8 has no waist.

I'm not Sleepless, but I think that I can answer that. Maybe she's sleeping!

You knew Melinda Ledbetter? Someone on twitter said that Elizabeth Banks is a dead ringer for Kate. I didn't see it in the movie. I was looking for a resemblance, but honestly she didn't remind me of Kate at all.

Yes, the movie features Melinda in a big way. In fact, I came away thinking that it could have been called "The Brian and Melinda Wilson Story," and that's all I'm going to say about that!

However, it really is a good movie and worth seeing. The actor who plays young Brian is dead-on, and Paul Giamatti in the role of Gene Landy is wonderful. The funny thing is that I know one of the guys who has a minor role in the movie. He was with Brian back then, and it was so funny seeing him now (much, much older) cast in the role of himself when he was young.

Go see it and report back! :)

Cruisin' (#189), was the desire put in your heart? You've got
to add that religious patina to your request, or we'll think you just
want to use that money to get out of Dodge. Gotta praise the lord, sister!

Oh, dang. In order for this to work, must one invoke a higher power? I didn't know that! I guess I just forgot to add "the calling."

Fidosmommy (#192), blessings to you, my child! You shall be
rewarded! I'm not sure how, though -- haven't gotten to that
chapter yet in the grifters manual.

All kidding aside, let me be clear that I am not denigrating
Christianity, nor people who have a sincere calling to be of
service. But when a twentysomething couple living a
celebrity lifestyle suddenly have their hands out to get a
trip funded -- when their family is loaded with a decade of
reality TV income -- I'm going to question their motives.

Not sleeping. Just enjoying some crab-stuffed mushrooms and a Cosmo! After a few of these, though, it won't be a sleepless night.

I agree with Cruisin's anwers about the movie. It's most definitely worth the price of admission.

I see that Kate posted another cutie photo of Zorro on the back of Alexis. She won't think this is so adorable when the bird takes a chunk out of the ear of one of the kids. Kate knows nothing about bird safety and even less about kid safety. I'm just amazed that the bird has lived this long.

According to this, the belly button is not left in place unless you have the mildest of tummy tucks. They recreate a belly button. I found other websites discussing how they have to be careful not to make the new belly button too perfectly circular.

If Kate's belly button is in the wrong spot, it's the doc's fault. I would ask to not have one, just to be different.

Dogs and Kids: I would say that Muir Woods is a wonderful place to visit. I'm a little biased as one of my relatives is a ranger there, but I do love to visit. Be advised, it's very popular and parking is limited. Further north is the Armstrong Woods, also a very wonderful place to visit. Your problem will be in picking from the many, many cool places to visit :) Sorry that I don't have any tips about the Grateful Dead, but I bet you could find some info online.

You are all making me laugh with your requests laid upon your heart :) I am so turned off by this young couple, begging their fans for money when they should have plenty of their own to fund their vanity trip (I read elsewhere that they plan to go to El Salvador). Dear Dillards - God helps those that help themselves, so use your own money and don't dun your fans.

However, anyone dumb enough to give money to these two .... well, I just can't feel too sorry for them. It's like the people who sent money to the guy who kept claiming the world was ending. Of course, each time, the world didn't end, but I don't believe he ever returned any of the donations.

I wonder, will Jill and Derick hand out bibles and soccer balls? Sing hymns? Or actually do something productive to help people in need? I'm pretty sure it's going to be the first two, with very little of the third.

I think it's still the middle of the night for many of you whereas it's already Sunday night here! I went to the Australian zoo today in Queensland. Even though I generally take issue with zoos I was pleasantly surprised with how well done it was. It's huge and extremely clean and the staff was just wonderful.

I got to hold a koala and feed a bunch of little kangaroos. The best part was visiting the koala hospital, which was where Kate and the kids went on the show. They were helping out a koala who was hit by a car and broke his hip, and a sea turtle who had a problem with too much air in its body which happens after a trauma like being hit by a boat.

The Irwins weren't there although we were told they often are. An Australian with our group said that he used to be a bus driver and would be there every week with groups and had befriended Steve. He said Steve was wonderful and so genuine, but that Terri was very standoffish and no one liked her. I didn't share any rumors I had read about the zoo but of his own accord he said there is a ton of tension right now between Terri and the zoo staff because of the financial problems. They feel like she's running it into the ground. Certain exhibits they have sort of let lapse once the animals have died or move away. They no longer have elephants. The main attractions are the kangaroos and koalas and the crock show. He said that moment when Steve held little Robert as a baby over a croc was incredibly hard to recover from the negative PR and that if he had to pinpoint when everything changed it would actually be that and not Steve's death.

Anyway, you can't tell the drama going on because the zoo really is well done. This is a working trip, I am working here and probably get a chance to pop onto the internet all of ten minutes a day if there even is wifi. Wifi is spotty!

I miss stopping by more often here at the blog but I know you're in good hands. G'day everyone and see ya soon!
