And we have the ratings from Showbuzz: 1.077 million viewers and a 0.31 share.

====

According to their numbers it looks like 584,000 viewers either switched channels or shut off their tv after the Little Couple aired and before Schmoopy's Big 4 0h invaded their screens.

Sad but true said...

Haha, I love that Shark Week and Deadliest Catch (which was THE #1 show per rankings) did better than Kate. See, Kate? More people want to watch FISH than they do you. LOL

Sad but true said...

TV by the Numbers, which ranks the 100 most popular cable shows for the entire day, has Kate Plus 8 dead last in 100th place.

Well, Deanna's an enabler and a "yes" person. Looks-wise, in her defense, I think she looks natural and hasn't gone for plastic surgery to enhance/fix anything.
**************************
Yes, she's got some of her own issues-of that I'm sure.
She may be plain, but I'm with Auntie, if you're in the business of MAKEUP shouldn't you WEAR SOME? \
*****
I know which part Vanessa said, but I'm not sure about the first two quotes. Anyway, I think Deanna is just another version of Milo. She is a hanger-on, and fawns over Kate. This is the closest to celebrity she'll get. She's been on tv because of catering to Kate; and she's been able to take some trips on TLC's dime as well. It's not nice to say it, but she's the less attractive friend, which is why Kate likes having her along when they go out on these scripted "nights out." There is little chance that Deanna will draw any attention away from Kate.

As to poor Collin - why does his mother treat him so poorly? She is the meanest, most vile mother.

The difference is Showbuzz only ranks original episodes while TVBytheNumbers includes reruns and syndication. TVBTN is packed with episodes of Big Bang Theory, Family Guy, and SpongeBob that had more viewers than a lot of original episodes of other shows.

I wonder if Kate's ratings were low because of the 10pm airing time and also was she on any of the entertainment shows? She wasn't on any of the morning shows, Extra, Access Hollywood and so forth. And if no then why not?? It looks like only the entertainment web sites were tolerating her.

Jane (199). I agree with you about Robert . It does seem like the light just went out. Sad.

It just breaks my heart to read about what TFMJG did about Collin's gift. She's had it in for him from day one. I remember in one of the early shows, or maybe one of the 2 early specials, her complaining about his "big ol' head" and how much discomfort it caused her when he was in utero. I'm surprised that Joel is in favor, though, since he's the most like Jon in temperament. All in all, I'm glad I didn't watch but I really hope Admin does a recap. That should make for some funny reading.

When I was 1st grade, our school set up a rummage sale. This would be around 1960 or so, the Kennedy years. There was a pair of bright red button earrings that matched a dress of Mom's that I loved on her. I paid a whole nickle for them and was proud as punch with my find. I found my Mom and presented them to her. She ooh'd and aah'd and then immediately removed her gem earrings and put mine on. She wore them the rest of the night and told everyone who noticed them about her gift.

She put them on every time she wore the red dress.

Years later, after the red dress was gone, that I found the earrings in her jewelry drawer. She had put them in a small jewelry case right next to her good jewelry cases. I can tell you now those were the cheapest looking plastic earrings ever crafted. UGLY. What I think happened was that Mom wore the ugly ones as she and Dad were leaving, switched earrings in the car and when they got home switched them back again. That was a lot of effort, but I grinned from here to there because my mommy did not EVER discount even a bad gift. Even ugly things are beautiful when given and received with love. We all know this. What keeps Kate from knowing it too? (rhetorical)

To be honest (see what I did there?!), I though Kate's Mexico episode would score around 1.5 million. Between the "Decade Of Kate" and 10-min. infomercial and hype, I thought she'd at least hold around where she's been.
Now if the tups Bday will bring up her batting average? Not sure.
11th birthday. Not a landmark and do people really want to see these kids get spoiled to kingdom come again?
To me, this is getting to the point of overexposure again, like when people were sick to death of her and wanted to throw her into the Grand Canyon!

I do wonder if more filming is going to happen. Other than swimming in their pool, what is there to follow? More lavish trips? Followed by Kate's usual pity me party?
Blech!

I do think they will film a trip to Camp Barnabas tho.

Redbird, loved your lyrics! Great job.

I wish someone could stop the insanity at TLC and keep TFW off the air permanently. That poor Colin. Where is Jon in all of this? How could a parent stand to see one of his eight children mistreated like that? Who wants to watch the mistreatment of a child? Not me. Also, who enjoys watching another family/person taking an extravagant vacation they didn't even pay for? Not me. TLC needs to drop TFW like a rock. List of advertisers, please.

Fidosmommy (#14), your story choked me up. TFW just doesn't
seem to have that maternal chip in her brain.

For all of TFW's talk about "making memories," what the heck kind
of memories does she think C will have of his mother's 40th
birthday? Kids aren't impressed by fancy resorts when that's
all they've ever been exposed to. For all TFW knows, C's
most vivid memory of that vacation may be Mom hurting his
feelings because she didn't like his special gift.

I'm not surprised TLC started filming again. I think they will always do specials as long as they can.
But, I think it's inevitable that K+8 fatigue sets in again, whereby no matter how they try to ratchet up the drama, like the RV trip, the audience will start tuning out.
I mean, that Pizza Gate meltdown was EPIC, but it wasn't enough, and I think it's because people tire of Kate and her tiresome ingratitude and negativity.

He only had $1 and he very carefully cut that dollar in half and gave us each half with a note that said "because I love you both equally" and he didn't want to spend more on one than he did on the other. I still have those bills and his note. Those are the memories that TFW is missing becasue it's not always about things.

Tucker's Mom (20),
TLC is really putting some serious effort into trying to get ratings for K+8. More so than any of their other shows. The 9-minute preview, the K+8 marathon, the 3-hour special the night before, and the lead-in from The LIttle Couple should have set up any show to do well. But…it didn't. The same with all the promotion for the Mother's Day special.

I think that Kate has made it clear to TLC that she is willing to film the kids 24/7. She wants to go back to the old days of 40 episodes per year. And TLC needs something to fill the void left by the Duggars. I think they are trying to promote the heck out of K+8 to try to make it successful enough to take the place of 19 Kids. But no matter what they do, K+8's ratings just keep falling. They don't understand that, as you said, Kate fatigue sets in for viewers. Her antics just get tiresome after awhile, and there's no cute little kids or interesting story lines (weddings, babies, divorces) to bring interest. It's just birthdays and trips, over and over. Any viewer (except Milo) is going to get sick of that, fast. Which makes me think that TLC is going to eventually throw in the towel and bring the Duggars back. There's nobody else to fill the space they left behind.

Kate's reaction to Collin's gift really shows how little she cares about him or his feelings. I'm sure he watched the show, and heard what she said about his gift. He probably was crushed. Poor little guy, he is desperate for her approval, but he never gets it. She is sadistic when it comes to him.

I saw a scene in the commercial where Kate is on the beach yelling at Collin, and he is shown heading out into some very rough-looking water. Any other mother would be charging down the beach after him, but not her. She sits there in her bikini and yells. I suppose she didn't want to get her hair wet trying to protect her son. She makes me ill.

Sometimes I wonder if TLC is damned if they do and damned if they don't. They, of anyone, know exactly what sort of monster they created in Katie Irene. They also know that left to her own devices, these kids will suffer from having no outside activities and nothing but the barest minimum of attention from her. I wonder if the thinking (if I can call it that) inside that network is, well, they're better off with US around than they would be if we ditched her ass and left them high and dry, as before. I realize TLC is totally bottom-line-oriented, but on the other hand? Like I said, they OWE these kids for having ponied up the $$$ for Kate's lawyers during the divorce AND having driven their father into the ground as punishment for daring to say NO MORE to filming. Maybe this is their way of trying to head off the lawsuits to come when the children figure out just how f**cked they were by their mother and a network.

Just a thought.

Oh, my gosh. Great story! Such memories! When I was about five, my friend's mother, who was our neighbor, took us shopping. I wanted to buy a Mother's Day gift. I had one dollar. I saw a pair of big rhinestone earrings that I thought were the most beautiful things in the world They were so shiny and looked like real diamonds (I probably thought that they were). I didn't have enough money, so the neighbor contributed! I purchased them, not realizing they were for pierced ears, which my mom didn't have and the neighbor didn't know. My mother never said a word about it, just told me over and over again how much she loved them. I later found out that she took them to the jeweler who removed the backings and converted them to clip earrings. She wore them, although I know she must have been embarrassed. They were so gaudy.

When I was going through her things when she was very ill and in hospice care, I found the earrings with a note "I want to take these with me." I couldn't stop crying. This is exactly what we did -- buried her wearing those earrings. It's what she wanted.

Every time I hear the song, "The Christmas Shoes" I have to think about those earrings.

Mady has enough hate- she might not have said it, if she wasn't seeking on-air attention like her momma. This episode sounds both sad and boring. And why is Kate so silly about turning 40? I'm not a crier, but thinking about Colin this morning really did bring me to tears. There is nothing sweeter than a little boy's love. How you could be Kate and not melt with love at his efforts? But no, as Vanessa said, she couldn't even fake indifference. She had to tear him down. She was sarcastic not once but twice -- once when he gave it to her and once on the couch so she could snicker about it to the whole world. As someone here said, anything for a laugh. She's hateful.

One of my sons, who reminds me a bit of Colin, loved to buy me little things at yard sales when he was young. Once he bought me a little white mug with faded red letters that said, "MOM the Greatest." Another time, he brought home a mug with giant lettering: "#1 TEACHER". (I homeschooled him.)

Recently I bought a relatively expensive handmade mug display case. In it, I put mugs from various vacations we've taken, unusual mugs and ... MOM the Greatest and #1 Teacher.

Bruce Willis and Laurie Metcalf are an interesting pairing. I was watching an old Roseanne recently and there was Bruce Willis. He was in the section they show during the end credits. He says something about working next door. I had to look; it's Season 1 Episode 22. He's so very young. It would have been Moonlighting.

I wonder if Kate gave Collin a chance to apologize for his poor choice of a gift or if she just pulled him up by the hair and tossed him ... oh never mind.

Maybe she'll write another book and somewhere in there she can tell him that She Just Wants Him to Know that he'll never please her no matter how hard he tries.

Bubbles said...

My 12 year old daughter saw the scene with Colin and had me watch it because it upset her so much. She said "how can a mom be so mean?" It was truly the worst thing I've ever seen Kate do. I swear it seemed like she intentionally reacted in a negative way, and then the way she GUSHED over the gifts the other kids gave her made it even worse.

As for Mady, well, I recall Kate sitting on that interview couch saying how she'd never eat anything the kids made, referring to something Cara and Mady made, I think. Now her little parrot Mady is simply carrying on the horrible attitude.

Yes, it's true - Kate's parenting has never changed, because all she has ever done is direct others on what how she wants things done and complain about how exhausted she is from having to organize everything.

Deanna is the worst of Kate's "friends", because she truly is there only for Kate. At least to varying extents, Jamie, Carla, Ashley and Beth loved the kids and it was obvious they were tolerating Kate in order to be around the kids. Deanna appears to be tolerating the kids in order to be around Kate and it's disgusting. She may not have had any plastic surgery but her face definitely looks botoxed and chemically peeled. It was unnaturally smooth and makeup can't do that. She has a nice figure, though, and was a normal color.

I think Kate's tan is spray tan or a tinted lotion, because her skin looks better than it used to when she first discovered tanning. Maybe that's partially because she's not malnourished from the obsessive running and rabbit food. Either way, she needs to lighten up a couple shades. She would look younger if she did.

Fidosmommy: love your story about the red earrings and how your mom wore them proudly with her red dress. Years ago my little brother and I made a gift for our mom - it was a little plaque that had a picture of the Madonna on it. We painted part of it over, then wrote "bless this mess" on it - and some of the letters were pretty messy because my brother did them = but my mom loved it. It remains perched right above the kitchen sink in the window all these years later. It's not pretty. It's not artistic. But we did make it with love and she loved it in return. That's how moms (and dads) usually react to a gift eagerly given to them by their child. Kate is so foul and poor Collin is going to need some serious therapy to realize there was nothing wrong with him - sadly, his own mother did not deserve his love, nor appreciate it. Bitch.

I have so many gifts, handmade cards, pictures and paintings that my son has given me over the years, and they are all treasured. He bought me an inexpensive kitchen mat two years ago that has a rooster on it. He had noticed that I love my rooster coffee mug and decided on his own to buy this little throw rug. I just love that kid so much.

My heart aches for Collin. I remember that Gumgate was the point at which I began noticing K's cruelty to her children and to Collin in particular. She brags that her parenting hasn't changed. Kate, that is not a good thing. Change, growth and evolution are all good and indicate some introspection and a desire to improve.

Sadly, she will never change. She is a vicious shrew and will always be a vicious shrew and will remain proud of that fact.

OT! BE AWARE! PHONE SCAM!

This is important news I'm sharing with you guys, a heads up!

If you get a call on any of your phones, cell or landline, from this

#989-641-6089, if you have caller ID it probably will say Michigan. This is a scam. If you pick up, the person will give you some BS that your computer is infected by a virus, and that you need to go online and they will tell you how to fix it, and then want $177. from your credit card
******
I got a couple of these type calls last year, saying that I owed money and I'd better pay because I'd get a penalty if I didn't pay.
The second time they called, I picked up the phone and placed it in front of the tv where Julia Child was baking! They sputtered and stumbled and mumbled through their spiel and I think that was the last call.

Whenever you get a call like this, it's good to Google it and you'll probably find that you are among many to get this scam call.

A couple months ago, DH and I were walking on a beach in Florida and came across a mom and her son, same ages as Kate and the boys. The were holding hands, just strolling and shelling.
It was so, so sweet.
There's a finite amount of time when boys show their sweet side like that. Pretty soon, they'll eschew such displays of affection, even if they love you just the same.
It's part of growing up and pulling away and becoming embarrassed in public.

Kate's hand holding is purely function, never affectionate.

Tucker's Mom (#98), I, too, don't believe for a nanosecond that
those children never once purchased something for their mother.
She knows darn well Jon isn't going to refute it, so she can get

And the tweet about it was so incredibly phony. As if that gift
segment on the show was just a lark -- a last-minute idea
that was coordinated out of the goodness of Deanna's heart:
"Gosh, my friend is a single mom, and works her fingers to
the bone, and gives gives gives, and never gets anything
in return. Lightbulb -- I'll take her children to buy her gifts!
I'll even give them the money for it! That'll make her super
happy!"

Do you know the planning that went into that shopping jaunt?
Permits and releases and transportation and craft services
set up outdoors. All coordinated ahead of time -- weeks,
if not months. Those pesos Deanna gave the kids were
probably handed to her in an envelope by a production
assistant, as part of the budget for the episode. Planned -
every last phony moment of it.

About turning 40, "growing older is empowering and I want to go rocketing into my 40th birthday!", said Kate Winslet this morning on the Today Show.

Winslet loves her curves, and looks absolutely gorgeous. She's not obsessed with being as thin as she could be when she was 20. You're body changes, and you can either embrace it in a healthy manner, or become obsessed with everything you put in your mouth.

Fans suspend reality and buy Kate's lies and innuendos hook, line and sinker. Each episode is carefully crafted, planned and executed to form a story.
The producers and editors nudge, guide and outright manipulate situations to fit the story arc and character development.

What never happens is spontaneously living, with the crew just following in tow, happening to catch things as they happen.

There is a rigid filming schedule and the cast (which is what the kids are) have to be on their marks in order to get the episodes done.

In this day and age, you're an idiot if you don't get this and believe those kids are just running in and out of frame.

IMO, Deanna will be TFW's bestie as long as TLC, CA or any other show is paying her to travel as TFW's personal make-up artist. Once that gig is over so is the friendship. Let's face it, this looks good on Deanna's resume and a girl's gotta work after all. She doesn't care about TFW or the kids. She'll say (and do) whatever they tell her.

FlimsyFlamsy said...

P.J. (#104), yes, the only upshot of such abuse captured on camera
is that those children will be armed with plenty of documentation
of their mother's deplorable behavior. No "he said, she said" --
the evidence is right there on film.

But something tells me at some point TFW will blame TLC for
she said and did. She will never accept responsibility for
her bad behavior. So she may have to claim they wanted her to
ramp up the drama for ratings. And since the show was the ONLY
way to feed her poor 8 babies, what else could she do?

Then they showed them leaving the water..Kate was with them, but she was the only one whose hair was still dry..didn't figure she was going to get it wet, plus she has said that she can't swim. I worry about the kids in the pool at home, with no adult around who swims..maybe she doesn't let them in the water unless a baby sitter who can swim is there?

Mel said...

It must be weird for the kids...nothing is real. Everything they do is just part of the script. And they're starting to be old enough to realize it. And feel probably manipulated by it.

About the phone call scam as related in Comment #60 - I'd like to relate how I handled a call I received from (supposedly) Microsoft.

The caller said he was phoning from Microsoft and that I should turn on my computer immediately and he would walk me through what had to be done to correct the "problem" that had been "detected".

I knew right away Microsoft would never make a call like this but I kept him on the line thanking him profusely for this wonderful service. I kept on and on about I never would have known there was anything wrong and was so grateful that he was willing to help me.

After several minutes of this he became almost hysterical and yelled at me, "Lady, just turn on your computer!!!!". I told him I had two computers and asked which one I should turn on. He yelled again, "Turn on both of them".

I thanked him again and said that I would have to put the phone down while I went to turn both computers on. He told me to be quick about it because further "damage" was being done as we spoke.

I put the phone down but left him hanging on the line. After a couple of minutes I checked the phone and sure enough he had hung up, having fallen for my own little scam.

He didn't purchase seven (or five) additional little cubs. The thought that Colin might want to represent himself alone with his mom was abhorrent to her. She couldn't hide it. She didn't want to. His stupid choice was too entertaining to her and surely the audience would get a good laugh over it, too? So she has to be sure to point it out twice. That's how her mind must work.

I had forgotten that the book was dedicated to Colin and that gumgate was also Colin. So it's not only longstanding abuse of a sweet little boy, but it's abuse that's marketed as television entertainment.

Bubbles 12-year-old daughter could see it was wrong, but all the producers were probably gleeful that there was some Kate drama. If Colin got his feelings hurt, well that's part of the show! And the fans thought it was cute or what? How do they justify it?

Kate and TLC are repulsive. I THINK the dropping ratings are showing that her jig is up. I pray that Kate is aware of those ratings and is dealing with the dawning realization that her days of drawing in 10 million ("See the divorce live and in color!") are over.

******
Kate can swim. I think she doesn't like being in water and most of all, getting her hair wet. She gets blow outs for filming and that can take a good chunk of time with her hair situation.

Reading about the Mexican birthday trip make me think of UnREAL, the surprising summer series that is so entertaining! The producer Quinn yelling at her staff, "Get me an episode!" And " we are selling true love here people!". The manipulations done by the on site staff when talking to the contestants on this faux Bachelor show. The rumors and innuendo and direct instructions done so contestants will give them some good footage that can be edited into what ever story they want to tell. Ignoring their on site psychologist advice about a constant with an eating disorder. "What if she passes out?". "Then we have film of the other girls finding the villain lying in her own vomit. The audience will love it!"

The producers must love this. If they can't sell tfmjg the loving mother, they can get people riled up and talking about the show by selling tfmjg the bitch!

This is an alarming number of photographed or filmed incidents. And how many happen in the privacy of her home?

Remember this one:

“On January 15, Kate was seen grabbing Collin after picking up him and his siblings from school at around 2 p.m. ‘Collin started talking to people around them, and Kate wanted him to keep quiet. She looked like she was about to lose it and smacked Collin in the face and then held his mouth!’ an onlooker tells In Touch, adding, ‘All I know is that I wouldn’t treat a 5 year-old like that…’” the report in InTouch reads."

The photo of her doing it is there too.

So Colin gave Kate a momma bear and she didn't "get" it? How many times has she referred to herself as a momma bear!
My impression of Colin is that he is a very bright, articulate young man and probably a lot smarter than his mother. He challenges Kate and she doesn't know how to deal with it. She bullies him because she is afraid of him. She will end up being the big loser in this relationship.

Tucker'smom: This is reality fantasy. You know as well as I know that real people: the mundanes/normal/average/everyday/mediocre people, who go to the beach, do not get dolled up to go to the beach. I go to the beach to go into the water, play on the sand, and get my hair wet. My hair will for all intents and purposes, will get in it, ocean/lake water, so salt or green water, suntan lotion, and sand. I do not go to the beach to do a fashion show. I could careless what you have on. I'm there to have fun. I do not lay in the sun, I can do that if I want to, at home. Which I don't cause I burn very easily. I would not travel hundreds of miles to lay in the sun. It's the same sun no matter where you are on the planet.

Kate, only goes to the beach cause:

1. they are filming
2. the kids
3. to show off yet another bathing suit
4. her hair
5. that tree trunk body of hers
6. to show off, look at me! I gave birth to 8, and with work & money, not work outs you can have a body like this. But, you don't have money, so look at me, and be jellus! envious! Idolize me!

Kind of like in the old days of Hollywood, women who sat around any pool, they never went in, but wore sun hats, and expensive bathing suits, and lots of suntan lotion.

I remember, a scene from a movie, and the guy asked this girl who was sitting by the pool at a hotel, if she would like to go into the pool, and she said: are you nuts, this bathing suit costs $200, it does not get wet. It's for show, not swim.

Collin seems catatonic at times, such as on the couch or just sitting at the table. Joel dismissed him somewhat harshly on the couch when Collin spoke to him. He and Alexis didn't get to make the cakes. The shopping scene was odd and sad. He found the bear and seemed unusally sad when he couldn't afford it and what I though was not an appropriate response when the shop keeper let him have it. Meaning his response was over the top with gratitude. Almost a feeling of desperation. And then the way Kate dismissed it was the most horrible thing I have ever seen her do. Definilty a top worst moment admin. This scene resonated with me. It moved me and not in a good way. Between Mady's over the top attitude and her manic behavior, Leah and Hannah both seem like kids I would want to be around about 5 minutes, and watching how Collin and Alexis are treated, it makes me sick. How any of those kids will be the least bit normal when they are grown is beyond me. They are far from normal kids at this point. Kate has rubbed off them. The kids have fears, attiutudes and neurosis from her. Maybe Joel and Aaden have a chance. This was thee worst episode of K8. It showcased her feelings towards her kids, their awful, awful behavior and hers. And in despite all of the things I just listed, the filming and editing was terrible. The episode had no flow.

I agree, it was the worst. Her narcissism was oozing out of every pore. She was giddy that the show was all about her. She had her toadies...I mean good friends to manage the kids, decorate her house, get her cake, steer her through the airport, lots of beach time to show off her tan and bazoooom and a night out where she could forget she ever had kids, and she had the added bonus of her brain-dead fans to tell her how young she looked. She would love, love, love every show to be just like that one--Kate Plus Kate Plus Kate, All Kate and Nothing But Kate, fun episodes like Kate an Zorro, Kate's Cleavage, Zorro in Kate's Cleavage, Kate's Hair, Kate's Tan, Kate's Spa Day, I'm Too Sexy Kate.

The only thing that came out of that horrendous debacle were fairly bad ratings. I'm sure, with the build up TLC gave it with a 3 hour long NOTspecial, they were expecting the show to pull them out of the dumpster of low ratings. I don't think #100 of the Top 100 was their goal.

The other day I got a call from a phone scammer and my name and number showed up on the call display. They said they were going to give me a better rate on my credit cards. Well, I NEVER carry a balance and I know these companies don't call you. I got a live person and tried to question him and he hung up on me. I called my phone company and they said it's called spoofing and there's nothing they can do about it.

Here's my proposal. I would love to see this go viral. I'm calling this campaign Blowing the Whistle on Telemarketers and Phone Scammers.

I'm buying a whistle at the dollar store or where ever I can find one. When I get a live person on the line, I'm going to blow that whistle for all I'm worth. If I can't stop them calling, they're going to pay the price.

In Canada we have a Do Not Call Registry, but these scumbags ignore it. I've got 99 numbers blocked on my home phone and the calls just keep coming. If everyone in Canada and the U.S. "blew the whistle" maybe we could put an end to this once and for all.

About the phone scammers (don't you love how we talk about all kinds of things here?!) - About a year or so ago we changed Internet, tv and landline providers and almost immediately noticed a huge uptick in the number of scam calls we were receiving. We went from one or two a week to several daily. I've since learned that others who switched providers noticed this also, although, of course, the provider denies selling info. I religiously reported the numbers that appeared on caller id to donotcall.gov but didn't think they were doing much until I had a call from them about 3 months ago asking if I'd be willing to complete an affidavit as they were suing one of the home repair scammers who called several times. The system works, just very slowly and probably not very completely. We get the Microsoft call about once a week and we're a total Apple home. If I have time I ask the caller for his/her name and phone number just in case we get cut off and after they give it I let them know I'll be reporting them. Or I just hang up. Oh, and sometimes say some not so choice words!

I pretended to be very upset that my computer had been infected with a virus and was SO grateful that they were there to help me. I assured them I was logged in and sitting in front of my computer, and asked them to please help me! We got to the point where he asked me if I could see the drop down menu on the bottom left of my screen, and I was so excited to say YES! He was trying to tell me the next step, but I interrupted and asked him to wait so I could read to him what was on the menu to be certain I was doing it correctly. He finally agreed.

I then said, ''The menu says...''Who the fuck do you think you are talking to? If you are going to scam anyone you really must learn to speak better English because you are a complete failure with this scam!!'' Then I laughed and laughed at him sputtering. He finally hung up. It was a LOT of fun!!

I do not believe Kate cares what anyone thinks of her parenting or how she lives her life and treats her kids. She only wants to remain a "star" in her own mind and enjoy the fruits of filming on TLC. She has no self awareness and is smiling all the way to the bank each time she gets to appear on television. The eight kids are her vehicle to fame. Now, she doesn't even have to share the limelight with Jon, their father. Despicable situation. If she really thought Colin's gift was funny and behaved as such, there is no word horrible enough to describe such a person. Pathetic piece of work is the best I can come up with. There is still no evidence of any gratefulness coming out of the woman. Arrogant to the max. It is obvious why all those "best" friends have dropped off over the years. Kate is the common denominator in all of that. No decent person could stand being around her for long. Still sad for the kids.

Mady has always been highly affected by the presence of cameras. She's hyper-aware of being filmed, and her behaviors amplify often. She also seems to feel the need to "feed" material to the people filming her, from writhing on the basement floor, to rolling her eyes, scoffing, kicking birthday balloons to now, silly non sequiturs like the carnival booth.
I understand why Mady is doing it. I also get that she knows that filming her is a safe way to vent how unhappy she's been since the tups arrival.
What I don't get is how Kate is missing the signs.

Doormat is what she is. She'll hang on until she pushes her just one too many times. Classic narc/narc supplier relationship. Seeing as they only get together the odd time is why it's lasted this long. PLUS Deanna needs the bitch too

It's so odd. Would 't you think it would be the opposite? That she would be on her best behavior, especially if she were aware of prior backlash?

And then she was doing her "I will not be outdone!" battle cry in the dune buggy. Taking all the glory she feels she's due. Or the glory she feels all activities entail., Couldn't let it be fun for Cara, noooooo, had to make it yet again, as always about her. That smug little look on her face. Much like that stupid ball game with Mady

If she really thought Colin's gift was funny and behaved as such, there is no word horrible enough to describe such a person. Pathetic piece of work is the best I can come up with.

She actually said it was off the wall.
Like, you're stupid. There's 8 of you. Why would you get this?

Maybe I should change my name to Blow the Whistle.

You're gonna need a bigger whistle

My husband suggested this, but I think a whistle with a higher pitch would be more effective. I think that would hurt my ears more than the telemarketer/scammer.

Lalalalala, I watched a video with the Sentry. Looks like too much work. I also don't feel like paying that kind of money to stop people from phoning my home. I'm going to stick to my dollar store whistle. Good lung exercise.

Arrogant to the max. It is obvious why all those "best" friends have dropped off over the years. Kate is the common denominator in all of that.

Deanna probably sees it as a point of pride and how good a person she is when she shows loyalty, including secret keeping.
I bet Deanna likes that Kate needs her and that she is Kate's valiant friend, for who else would have the qualities to fill such big shoes?
Plus, in her line of work, discretion is essential. You don't dish on your clients for fear of being blackballed.

I think it means 1000x more to be Kate's trusted friend, because Kate is famous.

re-posting re: call assholes

There is a free app call Mr. Number. It apparently works in every contintent, myn friends in Australia LOVE it!

It is simple and free. you install, and it allows calls thorough. but if a number comes through members have complained about, it will supercede your screen and say Mr. number suspicious number deted. Do not pick up.

Then you go to the app, and you can see what everyone has posted about it.

If you get a call, a scam, without Mr. Number knowing, you hang up, go to app and say what it was.

The first month I installed it it notified me every couple of days, I went to app and replied, Never answered. has been months since any unknown number called me.

It is completely free and works for me, and, no, not getting paid, just want to spread the peace

Two reasons I'd think. She's the kind of person who will show off or play up to an audience with the cameras and producer being the audience here and bad behavior gets attention in that family. And she needs attention. I would also attribute some of it to editing and multiple takes. She may have said nice things in a previous take.

Watched with my daughter. Our take on the dune buggy ride with Cara? TFW seemed angry to us. Like Cara had hurt her feelings with the "too slow" teasing and Kate was going to teach her a lesson. We suspected Kate was trying to make Cara cry. But most of those kids have her number and no way was Cara going to cry uncle.

Also, must confess whenever I read TFM, I interpret it as The Former Man. The purse toting, balls busted, no moral character, cheating Former Man.

It's SO EASY!! It blocks calls coming in but if it's someone you know or a legitimate phone call then all they have to do is press 0. You can accept or reject future phone calls. Hard? Nothing has ever been easier.

BTW, the Sentry call blocker cost me $39.00. That's it.

This is totally off topic, but I hope someone here will answer my request for information.

My husband and I are planning a trip to Europe next year, probably in Sept or Oct. We're looking to stay about 30 days and would like it to be a guided trip, with some built-in time for us to do things on our own. I've done searches and I'm not getting any good referrals. Most trips are only for 15 days or less.

So if you know a good travel agent or company that does this sort of thing, please let me know. Not looking for Google results, but hoping to get a referral from personal experience. Thank you.
