Celebrity Apprentice preview clip

Clips and other promotions have begun popping up for Celerity Apprentice, which premieres January 4.

Here's one of the longest clips to date, a four minute mash-up of the first task, baking pies:

Great new thread! Did you see kate in the background with that cap backwards, swaying talking to some people. She looked like a homeboy and she was chilling out with her homeboys! hahahaha

Jan. 4th!

On CNN tonight, The Cosby Show: A Legend Under Fire will come on at 8 pm Central, 9 pm Eastern. 5 women are shown sitting together to talk about what they experienced with BC.

In this clip, Kate looks like she's trying to to lay low and blend into the scenery, not stepping up and taking charge, but just hoping that she can kick the can down the road and get through the challenge.
I particularly like the part where Kate sidles up to Piers Morgan (in yet another uncomfortable and cringy attempt to be coquettish) and he just ignores her.

@Kateplusmy8 sizes of the size relates to ways of discourse in the size of sizes where minutes come around again into 20,000 hours:

"Theresa Caputo searching for the perfect tree. Riveting. What does that look like?
"OK, somewhere in this general vicinity, in this group of trees, does 'sapling' mean anything?""

++++++++++++++++++++

LOL!! I don't know why finding a tree would be a problem. Don't they speak to her and call her name? Or does that only happen with dead trees that have a special message for her?

OT...Speaking of sappy things, I've been watching some of the new Christmas movies and haven't seen anything worth looking at twice. They all have the same theme. Busy, career-oriented woman moves to another town (for various reasons), finds the "true" meaning of Christmas and hooks up with one of the locals there. Romance ensues, along with a perfect Christmas.

The best Christmas movies in recent times are Fallen Angel (my favorite), and A Christmas Visitor. A Christmas Card, Christmas Magic, and The Most Wonderful Time of the Year (Henry WInkler) are decent, too. I can't watch any of the movies featuring dogs...just too sad, no matter how it turns out. In fact, I can't watch any movies with animals, Christmas or not.

Nothing yet about the specials, or seasons, or episodes, or whatever the heck they are calling them? Has Kravitz stopped pestering?

So far it looks like Kate is pretty much doing exactly what I thought she would do the first few episodes, which is try to fly under the radar, look busy, don't get in anyone's way, and let the more volatile and vocal contestants self destruct. Maybe a cowardly strategy but it does work usually. And sure enough there she is off to the side doing crowd control, looking busy, minding her own business and not picking any fights, while the other ladies are actually doing some thinking about how this task is going and encountering some conflict. This kind of strategy gets you about half way there, which is just about where Kate started disappearing from the spoilers we saw of the tasks earlier this year.

My goodness, Kate bent to put her face right in Piers Morgan's face and he totally ignored her. She does not look to glamorous in those shots. I don't think she knows how to be social and interact with others. I always watch this show so I will watch it.

I just wrote almost exactly the same thing. Kate is blending into the background, pretending to mingle, but basically not contributing in any meaningful way.
I wonder if she'll step up once during this Pie Face challenge.
Note the 2 much younger women taking the bull by the horns and actually selling.

Thought I'd post this as a refresher. The TamaraTattles blog gave a rundown of the tasks as they were spoiled on twitter.

http://tamaratattles.com/2014/04/19/celebrity-apprentice-2014-spoilers/

Some of her conclusions may be wrong, but I think we here figured out that Kate was gone after the golf outing. Tamara also thought that Sig was the PM for that one, but from the previews it looks like he was the PM for the harbor cruise. But at least it gives a breakdown of the tasks we do know about.

I've never watched 5 minutes of this show, so the clip was my
introduction to it. Heavens to murgatroyd, TFW is doomed!

She admitted that 90% of people hate her. I wonder if, beneath
all the bravado, she is terrified to be in a crowd like the one at
that pie sale -- Purse Boy or no Purse Boy. So staying out of the
fray is her strategy? Wow, she's sure going to impress Trump
with that. Nothings says "future mogul" like flapping your arms
around and hiding from the real work.

Admin, I'm respectully requesting that you stay well during this

I bet TFW played her "mother of 8" card until it was dog-eared.
And maybe at the beginning, the other contestants bought into
it, and handled her with kid gloves. But you can only hide mean
and lazy for so long -- especially in close quarters with stress
and long hours in the mix -- and it'll be interesting to see the
other contestants' "aha" moments with her.

I persuaded myself to watch the clip. The one thing that stood out for me was, except for the instance where she put her face right up to Piers Morgan, TFMJG seemed to be trying to distance herself from the other women. In the one photo, the others are standing shoulder to shoulder, but she's standing a little ways away from the woman next to her. In the pie shop clip, she seems to be actively avoiding the others. That will not go over well when the tasks are supposed to be collaborative efforts. I won't be watching the show -- not only because of TFMJG, but also because I absolutely cannot stand Gilbert Gottfried and don't much like The Donald, either. Another thing I noticed is that Keshia Knight Pulliam has grown up to be a beautiful young woman. Can't wait to read Admin's recaps!

introduction to it. Heavens to murgatroyd, TFW is doomed!

&&&&

Oh she's doomed all right. Doomed These other celebs are far too experienced, cutthroat, smarter, talented, and I bet many are students of the game because that's what people like them do, study for things ahead of time. There is no cheating here, you can't write the answers on your palm. Most/all of them are there because they got there themselves through own hard work, perseverance, and raw talent. Kate is the only celeb in the group I know of who is a celeb by pure chance, she happened to pop out 8 kids.

This is the big dogs. You know that sing-song One of these things is not like the other one of these things doesn't belong? I kept thinking she looked so out of placed lined up all pretty with the other contestants.

Keep in mind she has no risk of getting voted off if her team wins, so if her team pulls of a fair amount of wins she could stick around longer than she deserves. I just think it's so funny to see her there on the sidelines desperately trying to look like she's doing something vital to the task while the other contestants are actually delving into it. She's so predictable.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I absolutely cannot stand Gilbert Gottfried

&&&

I noticed right away he's the type of person that can't just stand there and listen, he HAS to say something. Usually a bad joke or something annoying. I can tell he's going to be super obnoxious. SHUT UP.

Already Geraldo is looking like he's trying to micromanage things or run things like he runs his production team or something. That ain't gonna work when everybody else in the room has an ego as big as yours. At some point it looks like he's on Kate's team and he had Kate just standing out there in a wedding dress. I bet he'll just use her as work horse, order her about like she's a P.A. She might respond to that kind of take charge attitude. I bet she thinks as long as I just tell Trump I did everything my PM asked me to do, I'm safe. It takes more than that. Not only does he want more, but you also need to be a leader yourself at some point, which she will avoid as long as possible.

I can't wait for this.

And according to sources and Kenya, she had her bodyguard with her and the others didn't have anybody like that.

This is where Kate is just not that smart. I don't care how much you think you need Steve. It's bound to make the other contestants resentful. Probably one of the worst moves she made was to have him along. The hotel and show have security, they have to for their own liability. Use their security and let Steve go home.

These are the people actively trying to get others fired. You don't do ANYTHING that would make them think you somehow have an unfair advantage on this show. It's FINE for DWTS but it does NOT WORK here. This is a different show with different rules and dynamics. What was she thinking? She didn't think is what it is. Idiot.

LOL! TFW wins for most annoying celeb. This guy's got her number. She might stick around longer than justified for a couple of reasons. The women's team keeps winning or (as Admin and I discussed) the PM brings the toughest players into the boardroom first because the best strategy is to get rid of the strongest competition and leave the weaker players for later in the game when you know you can beat them without a problem. Exactly, there's so much strategy to this game if you are serious about really winning (and every year at least a few are really intent on WINNING the whole thing). The winners realize this is about more than just doing well in your role on the task. Kate may benefit from some of the strategy others are using. Smart players would try to pick off the stronger ones first. Kate can go any time, so she can be saved for use later. However you don't want to target somebody so strong that they can beat you in the boardroom. Ideally, you're targeting people as good or slightly worse than you, to ensure your safety but a stronger player gone. It's a riskier strategy but could pay off big. You keep the strongest players around because you're afraid they'll beat you in the boardroom and all of a sudden you're on a team with two other really great players toward the end and any one of you is fair game. That is not a good scenario. You need one or two expendables at that point to ensure your future. Ideally, if you've played it right, you've carried a weaker or even slightly weaker player through to the end or almost the end.

If you read the article below the video, it's interesting to see how they describe the contestants. All the others are described as "star", "legendary", "icon", "world-class". And then Kate is described as a reality TV personality (not "star" like the others), author (not "best-selling" author like Brandi) and mom of 8 (none of the others mentioned the number of kids they have). It reminded me of the old Sesame Street song--"which of these things is not like the others? Which of these things just isn't the same?"

*******
I think that's the most accurate description of what Kate is now. I'd add the prefix, "D-list" though ;-)
What's next? What does the future hold?
Kate has no "it" factor. I'm not jealous- I almost wish she did because then she'd have a role/place on tv shows, but she doesn't.
That means, she will film her kids until they refuse or are 18 and out of the house, and I think that sucks.
So, that means tv personalities like Kate and Kendra are relegated to such utter tripe as "I'm a star, get me out of here" and that ilk.
I don't know- just doesn't appeal to me. It's rather sad, really.
What does Kate do at 45, 50, 55, 60, 65?
Unless you are Joan Rivers, women that age don't find much if any work in showbiz.

AuntieAnn said...

Long hours, grueling deadlines, intellectual challenges and work - four of Kate's strongest aversions right there. I'm surprised she made it past the first project. No wonder she brought along the flying monkey.

Layla said...

Tucker's Mom (39)
Agreed-she has no "it" factor. She doesn't fit in with the others, and she seems to realize it. She always seems to be off by herself, not included in the team. In the pie thing, she's not behind the counter with the other women. In the bridal thing, she's sent off to stand around in a gown. In the shoe challenge, she's pictured in a corner by herself decorating a shelf. It looks like there are some dynamic personalities there, and that is something she just doesn't have.

Like you said above, when you menioned Andy Cohen, she comes off as very...odd. She is so socially awkward, and tries too hard to pretend that she has social skills. The result is hard to watch. She thought she was showing the world her "fun side" on Andy Cohen. What viewers saw was someone who is tryng too hard to fake an engaging personality, and it was cringe-worthy. And this is a woman who thought she could pull off a talk show? She thought she had the gift of gab? How utterly clueless can she be? Whoever said she was completely lacking in self-awareness (DWTS--was is Carrie Ann? Or Len?) was spot on!

I've never seen anyone blow as many opportunities as Kate Gosselin has. The one thing she has been successful at is plotting multiples and marketing them. She truly believed TLC would film her and those kids until adulthood, maybe even beyond. She is totally unable to accept the money train has ended. If they were talented, it would be a different story. But not anyone, except maybe Jon, is comfortable in front of the camera. Watching Kate attempt to act is indeed cringe worthy.

Well, watched the 30 min Jon & Kate plus 8 Christmas. Jon was such a nice loving father and Kate was so anal. When Jon called her his wife, Kate had to correct him it's Kate. The kids actually ate a full plate of food on Christmas morning, not like now, everything is measured. kate was ok then, now it's a 360 turn. Kate was becoming an a-hole then. And what she said about fans sending gifts: who am I to argue, send them. Instead of saying to fans please don't send anything, donate the toys etc, or make a donation to a shelter animal or womens or homeless shelter. it was weird they show the Quint Christmas right before and on the Quints, they showed how they gave back to homeless shelters and bought toys for homeless kids. Unlike Kate, fans give me more stuff for my kids, and bragging about the various people who come to the house to do housework, their return gift was some cookies and a holiday song. What cheap bitch Kate is. Oh, then Kate reminds people on oh, how hard it is to raise 8 count them 8, kids and afford them. It was like saying to the fans and people who help have a f-xmas. JK bought those kids a lot of gifts. I just wasted 30 mins listening to Christmas according to Kate.

There have been previews/promos for Babs Walter's 10 most "Fascinating" people, and I can not believe that she once chose Kate Gosselin.
For some reason, Barbara was convinced that Kate would transcend her TLC reality show and become a star- a big one, she predicted.
I don't know what she saw in Kate to begin with, but whatever head of steam Kate built up on many fronts is now pretty much gone.
I don't know of any current endorsements she's doing, aside from getting the obvious product placements on her specials.
I don't know of any project the likes of "Twist of Kate" or that daytime talk show she was seriously considered for and filmed a pilot for that is on her horizon.
Her books, post Beth, have been middling to poor/failures.

Aside from D-list "gigs" that will pop up now and then, what palpable plan is there?

Sadly, it appears Jon doesn't have one either.

I know we've discussed before that Kate is socially awkward, to put it mildly. I think the only way she is comfortable with other people, is when she is in a position to boss them around. So in a group setting, where she is supposed to make conversation, interact, do a little give and take, she has a very difficult time. She doesn't seem to have learned how to fake it, even a little bit.

For example, I too can find social situations a little daunting. But I've developed techniques that help break the ice. It usually involves asking a variety of questions of another person or persons, get them to talk a little about themselves, and often we find something in common that then leads the conversation into a more natural flow. Or, I try to find a way to help the party hostess, which also can get me mingling, but this time with a tray of goodies in my hand. Somehow, having a task to do gives me a boost of confidence and I can chat with strangers more easily.

Kate's method seems to be withdrawing from the women in the group. She has an extremely difficult time dealing with other women on equal footing. It's quite strange. If there is a man around, she might attempt to be flirtatious or play the "helpless me" card. I think that's why she has to have Steve nearby at all times. Before Steve, it was Jon who was her buffer.

I can't imagine being her. It's like she's from another planet and just cannot relate to most humans, except in an authoritarian role.

Ideally, if you've played it right, you've carried a weaker or even slightly weaker player through to the end or almost the end.
--------------------

Totally agree. This is not so much about the "judges" initially but rather who the Project Manager chooses to bring in for firing.

Kate does not work well with others, so she may have flied under the radar a bit, BUT she solo brought a body guard with her, (made enemies from the get go), and is so out of her field competing, it is sad and ridiculous. She went a bit out of her field with CA, peers (team leaders ) discuss the weakest, so she will be a very weak link and add in the BG, staff will not appreciate her unfair advantage, as well as her contributions with fund raising. I think she went FAR out of her league this time.

Bossing around 8 kids, baby sitters, does not come close to "managing " never mind on CA. Who will contribute funds to TFW??

It was right around that time that I started realizing that Barbara Walters was losing it, or got some kind of big bonus for saying that about Kate. There was just no way that any intelligent person could see Kate in action and say she had "stah!" power. It's sad when those in the limelight embarrass themselves like that.

Just looking at her standing there with those other women...she really is quite ordinary looking. No spark to her...it's as if they had to choose someone off the street to be on their team. She looks rather hard and older than some of the women we know to be older than her.

Millicent (#58), I appreciated your comments about TFW's social,
er, issues, and how you've adapted with your own. The difference
between you and TFW is that you genuinely seem to be a people
person, and have found ways to cope with things that challenge
you. I don't think TFW cares a feather or a fig for connecting
with anyone unless they have something to offer her -- a job,
an interview, free puppies or paper towels. So even a soft-hearted
person like myself can see her struggling and not feel sorry for
her.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The single biggest trick to talking to people if you have a hard time (as I do too sometimes Millicent) is as you suggested just keep asking them questions. People loooove to talk about themselves even if you're asking them inconsequential things like what they think of the weather. Even if you feel tongue tied people tend not to notice they are doing all the talking if you just keep it to their favorite subject, "me'!

There are ways to fake away your social awkwardness, such as the above. The sense I get from Kate though is that she seems to have no desire to want to change. Perhaps it's laziness, and some element of stubbornness too in her refusal to recognize the problem is her, not them. if she were to try to change, she would first have to admit that there is something that needs changing, and that she will never do. Thus, she will make it to about the middle of the road on CA instead of the end because she won't jive with this group nor any other group in existence. In many ways it's kind of painful to watch somebody so awkward. You just want it to stop.

Now Barb Gilmer is in overdrive tweeting cute animal videos to Kate(8 videos so far). Is she jealous that Milo got a response and she hasn't. Seems like they'll just keep trying and trying to get just one iota of attention from Kate.

It's quite amusing to watch.

I have noticed in this clip and any commercials, Kate is not getting much face time. Not one mention of her even being on the show in anything I've seen or heard. No focusing in on her in the clip above, other than a side shot of her in the backwards cap. Wonder if advertisers are aware of her poor publicity and that she is not great for business. Has anyone seen her more in a spot light for CA?

It's interesting to read all these analyses of TFMJG's awkwardness and lack of self-awareness. I think they are all spot on. She genuinely does not have a clue. Then I remember that this woman was a cheerleader in high school! How on God's green earth did she ever manage to get elected to that position? Or did the school she attended just allow anyone who was interested to be a cheerleader? I can see where she'd want to be one. It would make her seem to be one of the "cool" kids, and put her squarely in the limelight, which she would adore.

FlimsyFlamsy said...

I know I've cited this example before, but to me it really revealed
TFW's true colors. Remember when she talked about meeting the
dog breeder, and she said he was talking to her, and all she heard
was "blah blah blah?" I mean, who admits something like that?
She was talking about another adult human being -- was there no
degree of embarrassment about revealing something that made
her seem like such a snobby jerk? And she wasn't gabbing with
her friends (ha!) over margaritas -- she was broadcasting it on
national TV!

I predict that after CA airs, "shopping cart" will be looked back on
fondly as one of the nicer things said about TFW. Bring. It. On.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The thing about TFW is I'm not sure she KNOWS she's not one of the girls or part of the group. The way she edged toward Pierce was the mannerisms of someone who is not part of things but doesn't know it. Or if she has any idea of it she's not going to admit it.

Tucker's Mom said...

For example, I too can find social situations a little daunting. But I've developed techniques that help break the ice. It usually involves asking a variety of questions of another person or persons, get them to talk a little about themselves, and often we find something in common that then leads the conversation into a more natural flow.
*******
Bingo, there it is. Asking people to talk about themselves puts them at ease and shows interest.
This is something that I'm not sure I've ever seen Kate do. She doesn't know how to not bring the conversation back around to herself.
This is not a gift of gab. It's assuming that one is endlessly fascinating, which she is decidedly not.
Besides yapping about her kids (and not all that much), she focuses on the perceived drama in her life and slights she's suffered and what hardships she born.
There's no "there" there. No outside interests, or new things to learn or fascinating factoids.
No depth.

I don't think she's that relatable for most women in her real life, which explains why she has maybe two real close friends, maybe even one at this point. You have to build a friendship on more than just your friend exists in this world.

She doesn't seem to or never mentions some great book she read, an interesting article she saw online, a funny youtube video she saw. She appears to be estranged from much of her family, so funny family stories are missing from her life. She doesn't appear to have hobbies. No tennis, scrapbooking, playing an instrument, sewing. You could say cooking, but there's nothing original about that either. She watches a lot of TV apparently but isn't able to articulate how she feels about what she watches in a way that would prompt an interesting discussion. You need more than just "we love this show!" to have a conversation with other women. Even her own kids are devoid of much that's all that interesting. I'm sure a good storyteller would have dozens of great stories about these kids, but she isn't able to do that. She's not capable. I think she has no friends because she's downright boring. Boring people can have friends, but they make a real effort to act interested in the other person. She won't do that either.

Let's face it, Kate can't get along with anyone unless they are hired help (S & J) - huge trail of people she alienated along the way. And many of them left because of her horrible treatment.

As such, I believe she will not be able to relate to any of the CA women, and the men will tire, at some point, of her "damsel in distress" act. She is all about her "brand" = single mother of 8 kids in spite of the fact that she has helpers, and the kids spend time with Jon, which she diminishes.

Exactly who is part of her life at this point , other than paid TFM and Jamie? It is completely said these kids have no contact with extended family at this juncture, as she has decided to exclude them from her
life. All in the sake of filming and her being "the star."

Clearly several or at least half of the kids are tired of filming, yet TFW will not stop, as she refuses to find work off TV. Not going to end well at all. She clearly wants to film her kids and will not stop at any cost to film her kids. Old and tired and the kids' behavior says it all.

sayitisntso said...

Just really looked at photo that heads this post. Once again, TFMJG did not take advantage of the professional hair and makeup pros with the show. Her hair with all the dark roots is not flattering. On DWTS she never looked as polished as other contestants, speculation was she insisted on makeup a certain way, to she really made the makeup folks angry, to she showed up late and there was not enough time to do a really good job on her hair, makeup, and costumes. I'm thinking combination all three with showing up late being biggest issue, esp with Apprentice having lots of contestants and early call times.
I still miss George and Carolyn from original Apprentice!

sayitisntso said...

Milo is a "celebrity chaser." must like the few fans that truly exist. Stand by your woman, no matter what she does. "Star chasers" and she really does not have many, other than BOTs, so she thinks the paid BOTS make her look important, although they clearly illustrate how desperate she truly is.

What grown woman needs a Security Guard (when 8 kids are at home); and does realize that her only fame goes to the kids, who are now resentful of filming? A great mom does NOT force filming and clearly several are over it. I am sure that TFW gave them a lecture about the house and schooling, so she hold them over a barrel.

The boys are clearly second class citizens, C clearly does not want to film, so if at least half your kids don't want to film, why are you still doing this? Not going to end well eventually, and she will have at least half her kids suing her. Great way to go for the sake to $$$$$.

As the kids get older and wiser, she seems to provide more incentives for them to film. NOT going to end well, as they see through her already and Collin needs to visit with his dad. Unless Jon did something seriously wrong, which I doubt. C is the chicken feeder and the queen is too lazy to do it herself. Other than cooking, shopping and normal clean up, what does she do?? Why does she still need a helper 10 years later ?

The contestants who are safe go to one suite while the PM and whomever they brought to the boardroom are waiting to see who will be fired. They start the season with 16 contestants so I'm sure they all have separate hotel rooms and I'm guessing the suite is just used for after boardroom relaxing and taping.

From various blog info and when we were keeping track here during CA taping, I think TFW was fired somewhere around task/week 7-8 out of @ 10-11 tasks/weeks. I agree, Admin, being on the winning team saved TFW from being fired for quite a long time.

For those who don't like Gilbert - if rumors and leaks are accurate, he was fired early in the game - around week 2-3.

Is anyone else watching 'True Tori' w/Tori Spelling. Tori and Dean's lives are train wrecks. IMO it's a sick relationship w/2 co-dependent, emotionally ill and needy people who really shouldn't be married to each other. Their insecurities feed off of the other person's all while they live in absolute chaos trying to raise 4 children.

TFW thinking TLC would film them till the kids were 18 and selling their childhoods reminds me of the latest True Tori episode. Dean says he wants to stop filming the reality show because it's not good for their relationship and family and Tori says, but 'what else do I have', 'what else is there for me' (Dean wants to move back into 'real' acting and was working on a CSI episode)?

It's sad and very troubling that someone doesn't feel they have anything else to fall back on other than selling their family's most private lives on tv - and in her case where she 'could' do many other projects if her emotional health didn't get in her way. SMH I feel so bad for their sweet kids to be living in that environment.

FlimsyFlamsy said...

Carole (#93), interesting the parallels with Tori saying she has
nothing else to fall back on. And here's TFW with a nursing
degree -- a recession-proof career which she could adapt to
her kids' school schedule and/or weekends with their dad in a heartbeat -- and saying the same thing. I would love some
interviewer to call her on that some day. Especially after she
recently repeated that hogwash about hearing her clearly, that
if there was another way for her to earn a living, she would end
this all in a minute and be on an island with her kids, and we'd
never hear from her again. She feels like she can shut the
"regular job" question down as soon as she uses the word
"daycare," meaning her whole salary about be going to
babysitters. Absolute nonsense.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I think that's just tragic that Tori feels she has nothing to fall back on. Where's she been the past 25 years? She could have learned any number of sought after skills in the business. She could be a producer right now, a writer, a director, I bet she'd be good at managing, why not do that? She has a huge network of connections.

Is she out there pounding the pavement getting auditions? For awhile there she was doing Lifetime movies. What's wrong with doing that? It's a paycheck.

It's one thing to be a reality star who didn't bother to acquire any useful skills during their tenure on TV, quite another to be a member of the Spelling dynasty and having "nothing" to fall back on. That's just pathetic.

I used to like her, and I've seen her from time to time around town without a nanny, caring for her children on her own and doing normal things that are good for her children like going to church yard sales and chili cook offs. But lately this is just getting silly.

So true. You find yourself staring at that photo, thinking what the heck is with that one woman's hair??

I think the massive amount of blonde hair, which clearly isn't hers, along with her weird facial expression is what makes her look like a mannequin instead of a real person.

She looks like a mannequin with a really bad wig.

Just like her green eyes, her hair is fake blond too. It irks me that she tries to pass herself off as a natural blond. I don't get the dark roots either. Maybe she's trying for some variation of the ombré look, LOL. Does she still go to NYC for her hair? All that money for ugly hair and an unflattering hair style. I wonder what she sees when she looks in the mirror.

As far as Tori and Dean, I think their show is total BS. If things were as bad as portrayed on the show, they'd be divorced. The only thing realistic is that they are totally messed up people who only think about themselves. Their show is literally a soap opera labeled "reality TV".

On the preview clip of CA, Vivica is saying you are a, sorry, I forgot, then they immediately show kate rolling her head, her mouth wide open, in aghast and she looked to the left. I wonder if she was looking for and found Steve. Can you imagine TFW being safe and going back to the suite with the other contestants and Steve tags along?

You know that HAD to make at least the women mad. It just was not fair. He could help strategize her next move. Because, he said she needed to get a size C breast implant. That had to hurt Gina, with them 2 in the back of the limo and she was upset about Jon trying to get full custody and she was tired, didn't want to go to practice DWTS.

Her reaction of being called what ever she was called, reminds me of her demeanor at Pie Face. The hands on her hips with the backwards cap, just standing there, while the others were WORKING and working the crowd in the store, her failed attempt at getting Piers attention, and her in the crowd in the store chilling, is pathetic.

She looks like a wanna be cool with a little thug, trying to act like a hipster teenager, instead of a woman, just 3 months away from being 40 years old with 8 children. It is not going to work, dear.

Admin, I think she's trying to find 'work'. She doesn't believe Dean is capable of supporting the family, watching the kids or basically doing anything and she feels all of the responsibility for the family is hers. IDK how valid her concerns are about him, tho. He does seem to manage the kids better than her, at least on camera.

On the recent episode Tori had a commitment to appear in FL to host and interview a bunch of people, but she backed out a day before she was due there because she wasn't well. She said she's gotten a bad reputation in the 'biz' and people aren't wanting to hire or represent her because she's backed out of a so many engagements due to (she says) her health (which stems from her emotional problems). It's SUCH a dysfunctional household.

redbirdsings said...

Mel, you are right. When the contestants were all standing there with Trump outside, TFW was struggling to comprehend what was happening. The other contestants had smiles on their faces and didn't look nervous at all. TFW looked nervous, intimidated and out of place.

I can't wait. I don't know what week Gilbert G. was fired, but I know that on that cooking show competition, Guy vs. Rachael, that Dean McDermott won one year, Gilbert was the first one CHOPPED.

He was extremely irritating and I wanted him gone quick! He was also the voice of the Aflac bird, then he said some bad things and they fired him. The company had a nation wide audition call for the next Aflac bird voice and some regular Joe got the job!

If not totally fabricated, Tori and Dean are following the same script and Kate and Jon.
Husband doesn't want to film, which in Tori's mind equals he can't/won't support the family (in the lifestyle she's become accustomed to) and she has to be Super Mom, and do it all by herself.
Tori will likely be calling herself a "single" mom soon and Dean will be the "deadbeat Dad".

More on TLC's newest child abuse venture, Risking It All:

"Like a lot of reality TV, “Risking It All” employs an extreme, all-or-nothing approach to an otherwise manageable problem. Three families in different parts of the country choose to explore their pioneering spirit (another well-established TV tradition) by forgoing modern conveniences for three months of “life off the grid” — without electricity or running water. The fact all three have fairly large broods of kids turns the children into props, a tried-and-true TLC formula, which makes the show not much of a risk, development-wise, and still mostly a snooze, TV-viewing-wise."

Of course, when you are facing financial hardship and keeping the kids focused, the only thing to do is drag them into the wilderness to film a reality tv show.
How ironic, that these moronic parents think that people will swallow the notion that while they are depriving their children of their very homes and comfort, they are at the same time exposing them to millions on television.

This children-as-lab-rats-theater sickens me.

Tucker's Mom,
I agree that too many kids are featured on these shows, but one big difference is that there are adult relationships and adult interaction in all the other shows. The kids are more peripheral characters. K+8 does not have anyone to provide that adult dynamic. Kate thinks drama is what gets ratings, but in order to create that drama, she goes after the kids. There isn't anybody else. It comes across as mean every time because there is no level playing field. The kids can't defend themselves. Back when Jon was on the show, the dynamic between him and Kate was a major point of interest. Everyone was waiting for another "pull the stick out" comment. The kids can't do that. They really can't fight back, so all you have is a mom bullying her kids. She might get away with it in a special or two, but think about the backlash if they were back on a regular basis and people were watching her treat the kdis like that over and over. Yikes.

IMO, this is where the rubber meets the road. I'll bet that inside, she's a quivering, quaking puddle of goo and hence, the dead look. Deep down, she knows she's inadequate and she's at the point where the subconscious can no longer be suppressed. She's smart enough to know she's way out of her depth. People like her can only keep up the facade for so long and then reality sets in again. Like getting back on the ground at SkyJump.

I so agree that Jon's departure from the show was the beginning of the end.
There was some semblance of balance with Jon on the show, and of course their relationship provided some "tension" that fed story arcs.
At least Jon could pipe up now and then, or roll his eyes at Kate's fishwife ways.
The kids get positively steamrolled by Kate if they dare hint at insurrection.
It's awful to watch.

Jon was totally what held the show together and deep down Kate knew this or was told bluntly that it was going to kill the ratings with Jon gone. I think this is why she hates so much. In her mind, she blames him TOTALLY for her failures. ITA the kids cannot put her in her place. She is a bully, not a strict parent. Maybe she or the producer thought adding Steve into the mix would add the balance that the show needed. I was surprised to see him come out of the shadows during her last episodes. Very inappropriate.

I'd be willing to bet that TFW reads the TMZ site. I wonder what thoughts went through her head when she read what "Chickadee" had to say about Mama June claiming "Mama June Robbed Me Blind".

Mama June claimed she set up trust funds for all her daughters but "Chickadee" is accusing her mother of "stealing all the money she made from their reality show" (according to TMZ).

I sincerely hope that the Gosselin children receive what they are entitled to under the terms of the trust funds which were set up for them and that funds have not been withdrawn to cover their day-to-day expenses which are, by any stretch of the examination, the responsibility of their adult parents.

Way off topic ... But since we've talked so much about catfishing here. (I learned the term on this blog, in fact!)

A new Washington Post article interviews the three friends of Jackie, the subject of the Rolling Stone UVA rape article.

Guess what, folks? The word "catfishing" is being thrown around. Jackie may have catfished herself (pretending to be a third year male student). Back in 2012, she provided her friends with the name and phone number of a fictitious male student. "He" texted the friends a photo of himself--a photo of someone who went to Jackie's high school and never went to UVA. "He" texted her friends about how great Jackie was, etc.

The WaPo article details many more discrepancies in her various stories. She had a crush on "Randall" and seemingly it was all about getting his attention.

I've been following this story closely. As I mentioned before, my daughter goes to UVA. Those students have really been through it this fall, between Hannah Graham and two suicides. The RS article--knowing what we know now--is downright cruel. My daughter is a third year, same year as Jackie, and says she and her friends are doing okay. But, according to her, first year students are very dazed and upset, wondering what they've gotten themselves into. That's a shame.

How were others not afforded the same advantage? Are you suggesting that all the other contestants had a clause in their contract specifying that they could not have anyone else on set and that an exception was made for Kate? How much power do you think she wields? If others chose not to have someone present, how is that unfair? If the rules allowed, it everyone else could have done the same. If another contestant had done the same, the person would be called a smart strategist taking advantage of every opportunity available within the rules. Because it's Kate, it's being called "unfair." For goodness sake, if the woman were going to cheat she wouldn't have done so so blatantly. It's not as if the show's producers were unaware of Steve's presence.

And now to hear the entire story has so many holes in it, that a decent fact checker could have picked up, and to hear the term catfishing associated with the person, its bewildering. I will read the Washington Post article. I'm wondering what the president of UVA will do now. The ban on all Greek activities seems to have been hasty, but then she had to do something when the story came out. And will this make real victims more reluctant to come forward? And is Jackie a victim of something, just not as extreme as what she described, or is it all made up? I am sure we have not heard the last of this story.

I have to say that I got a queasy feeling in the pit of my stomach when "Jackie's" father defended her incorrectly naming the fraternity as Phi Kappa Psi, saying she'd only been at UVA for 2 weeks when it happened.
OK, however, 'Jackie", after 2 years, is still misidentifying the fraternity?
Somehow, I think that fact, once figured out (and how could it not be?), would be etched in her mind forever.
To allege gang rape and get this wrong is suspect. This isn't a charge of stealing her wallet, it gang rape, and the repercussions of such a charge ripple university wide and affect the entire (already acutely traumatized) student body.

Daily Mail article "Jackie's" father responds

"Jackie's" insistence that Rolling Stone not contact her alleged attackers should have been refused.
RS compromised their journalistic integrity big time. However difficult that might have been for the alleged victim, it's unfair to level these charges and not afford the other side to respond.

This week's "The Newsroom" episode was scarily prescient.

-----------------

I agree, she is way out of her league with CA which is cut throat. She is controversial, as was Gary Busey, yet he lasted quite a while, due to controversy, his ineptness, craziness, and irritating fellow cast members, all for ratings.

Kate is not an agreeable person with her 8 kids, has no friends, has alienated pretty much everyone she has ever met or dealt with, so I assume her strategy will be to fly under the radar (not a risk to other players), flirt with the males who are on her team, and acquiesce to whatever the other team members want, so she can stay on the show. Am totally puzzled about her fundraising - not sure who she has any connections with unless it is TLC and her hair dresser.

I am guessing CA will not show her in a favorable light. She is and never will be a "team player," so my guess is she will travel on the fringes and actually do work to stay in the competition. She is certainly never going to be the Alpha woman she pretends to be when dominating 8 kids and that will say a lot about her.

Flying under the radar will be her MO, as she is out of her league, and she knows it. Should be interesting to see her deal with others, based on her history of not getting along with practically anyone. We may have a new name for her after the show broadcasts : )

I totally agree. Although I think she will pay as little money as possible for college (grants, scholarships, etc....) assuming all 8 kids even want to go to college, which I seriously doubt.

She is clearly projecting "future money" she will need to send her kids to college, in an effort to continue her need to be the "poor me mom doing it all alone) so she can continue to get gigs. Most people are not buying it anymore. And with her "grifting," it just proves that no matter what she gets is NEVER enough. Yard sales, clothes to consignment shops, and God knows what else simply proves that she really does not have a charitable kind bone in her body, unless TLC finances it. She is clearly on the Reality Show dole and will do whatever she has to so she does not have to work unless her mug is out there.

According to the article, there will be 5 new shows.

" the 10-year-old sextuplets will keep fans glued to the TV as they remain tight during family activities like celebrating their beloved dog's birthday, collecting lobsters for dinner or even planning massive garage sales.

And for those wondering what Mady Gosselin and Cara Gosselin are up too, let's just say they are still quite the outspoken girls.

When they aren't arguing about who gets a private room during the family's home renovation, they are calling out mama like true teenagers.

When Kate tries to organize a family paddleboarding trip, the twins have their doubts about mom surviving."

This article on Fishwrapper describes the sneak peek and states it so well:

Update: Kate Gosselin Still Needs to Get a Grip

Still feeling all the sorry for Kate Gosselin? Back it up a second, because here's why you shouldn't be.

New "specials" of "Kate Plus 8" are airing beginning January 13th (brace yourselves), and in a sneak peek on TLC, here are the Top 3 Things That Kate Gosselin Said to Nullify Any Pity for Her:

3 -- After (and sometimes during) nearly every family event that she coordinated (catching and cooking lobsters, rowing) she acted like a petulant little child who was more apt to be her kids' snotty playmate rather than their mother, complaining about the events saying things like "Are we done yet?"

2 -- "I feel so overwhelmed sometimes that lately it's hard to stay positive."

1 -- This was Kate's vacation. Kate's idea. Kate's continual ploy to support her children by exploiting them on television, and yet she does nothing but complain and look exhausted all the time.

Yeah, we get it -- being the primary (sole?) caretaker of 8 children has got to be exhausting ... and it's got to be stressful and sometimes lonely and all of those other things, too, but you know what? It's also Kate's choice to continually put herself -- and her children -- in stressful filming situations, and what kind of childhood is that?

As predicted, TLC will capitalize on the airing of Kate on CA. That was a no brainer.
Otherwise, SSDD. Kate screeches and screams and garners all of the camera time with her childish antics.

I have to wonder why TLC continues to let this woman sap money from them. I suspect that they HAD to fulfill some part of her old contract that there would be occasional specials. My goodness, that clip is just a total REHASH of what TLC has shown in the past. And all that screeching! She acts like an imbicile instead of an adult. And what was with Mady and her pretend crying? She sounds just like her mother. How awful and embarrassing for those kids. All I can say is that I do believe the critics will not be kind, but yet Kate continues to show up on TV. Maybe, just maybe, her whining will finally be the tipping point because it's not cute. ITA the kids drive her more nuts than she is and then Jon can get custody.

Oh, and there is Jon bashing in one of those articles about how he is seeking a girlfriend because he needs someone to cater to him. Now if that isn't the pot calling the kettle black, LOL.

I see another one of the kids is wearing glasses, one of the twins. Boy that must have put a another knock to kate fantasy world, that her kids are not perfect, like she made a big thing about the boy who wears glasses. Wait kate there might be more kids needing glasses. One thing I can say about the Duggar kids the younger, than Kates kids, they can sit on a bench and sit still and give an interview, the Gosselin kids can't sit still for one moment, and they are 10. Kate is still trying to keep them little. Shame on you Kate, I guess kate can't face the fact the tups are not little anymore.

@Kateplusmy8 The wait is OVER...Jan.13th 2015 on @TLC http://eonli.ne/1qAm7gM The "crazy life" continues w/5 NEW specials! #KatePlus8

But no word from Kate? You'd think she'd tweet something like "yes, it's true--we're back on Jan. 13".

Guess she'll leave it to Milo to do all the hype.

Noticed in the preview that Cara is now wearing glasses. I wonder if Kate managed to get TLC to pay for those, too.

If there's anything more boring than watching kids shop for
school supplies in December, it's watching them do it in
January of the following year.

Has Gladys tweeted her congratulations yet? She'll have to
clear her schedule for the whole month -- not only to watch
and rewatch CA and the new specials, and to tweet her
accolades, but also to fight what will surely be a barrage
of negative comments. #TrueFriendsStick2Gether

Why the f*ck does everything in Kate World have to be covered in plastic?
The kids wearing bags while trying to paint is laughable.
Dear Kate, paint "flecks" will come off in the laundry. Promise!
You wear old clothing that you don't care about, "house clothes", and go about your chore.

What. An. Idiot.

Gawd, she makes mountains out of mole hills.

Those 10-year olds looked like babies with plastic bibs.

LET THEM GROW UP, WOMAN!

OT- just watched Matthew McConaughey's wife make an appearance on The Chew. She's obviously Target's Holiday spokesperson and managed to chit chat about FUN, relatable "stuff", cook and touch upon all of her Target talking points in a natural, easy way.
Compared to Kate's stilted KMart schpeals that were always either tee'd up for her (on a silver golf tee!) or planted by her show's producers, Mrs. McConaughey's performance was light years better.

I know that as M. McC's wife, she's got more money than G-d, but she comes across as very likable and relatable, wearing her Target pregnancy outfit!

Tucker's Mom (#177), I remember TFW's oh-so-smooth
"commercial" for Johnson & Johnson's No More Tears spray.
She said something like, "Smells good! Works great!" Which
didn't sound awful, but seemed a little over-the-top. Then
she gave herself away by putting the bottle down, and then
realizing her mistake, turned it around so the label would face
the camera.

"This realest reality show evah has been brought to you by
Johnson & Johnson, Gymboree, and Juicy Juice!"

Cara looks good in glasses. And yes, I bet TLC paid for them! We should count up how many freebies she makes out with on these episodes and what they are worth. She gets more than just a paycheck every time.

Is that Ashley in front of Mady & Cara during the rowing lesson at the 46sec mark? Also, at the 1min 20sec mark the 3 younger girls all have their iPads w/them outside when Shoka is getting his birthday cake.

Lastly, the kids bedrooms are pretty messy and disorganized looking considering Kate proclaims to be a clean freak and super organized.

The room is a pig sty. Nothing, zero, zilch on the walls. Not enough storage and a $5 sheer on the window.
This in a 6000 sq. ft. manse.

How can you have 3 beautiful 10-year old girls share a bedroom that has nothing in the way of decorations, posters, art work, awards...?

Oh no CA and this will air at the same time? I'm going to be on recap overload and I'm going to be out of the country for me than two weeks in Feb. Wth.

I cringed through the whole clip. There is nothing funny or interesting about kids being this disrespectful constantly. They don't seem content. They seem to be constantly stressed and upset. It's not normal. This is a direct result of her parenting style, IMO. You can strong arm a toddler. That's not going to work with a 10 year old. The result is this sort of chronic unhappiness. I'm very sorry for them this has to be exploited. Overwhelmed, eh? Wasn't it revealed according to someone who saw them that both Steve AND two helpers were along on the Boston trip? How overwhelming can it be when the child to adult ration is 2 to 1?

she acted like a petulant little child who was more apt to be her kids' snotty playmate rather than their mother

&&&

SPOT....ON.

I've been thinking how to describe her in that's it. He left out, your snotty playmate you just want to clock.

Welp. The little girls' room still looked like a prison cell. They've lived there how long? At ten my dd had soccer trophies, decorations, pictures, etc etc. She had a butterfly theme too. So sad.

I watched the K+8 clip. Why are the kids screaming? Haven't they learned about "inside voices", yet? My other thought is they are screaming because that's how they get their mother's attention. Either way, ugh. I have no desire to watch ill mannered children on TV.

The segment where they paint their rooms. Oh come on. My thought was the kids were "playing" painting and then the professional painters will come in after the shoot and paint the room. With, of course, TLC picking up the tab.

Kate doesn't get that her ship has sailed. The kids antics aren't cute, they're rude (IMO). Now before anybody jumps all over me, I realize that Kate doesn't parent and the kids learn what they observe. And hence, here they are today not being presented in the best way once again.

Its now Tori and Kate, exploit the kids and a bad relationship...all for a buck and being on camera.

I see that the Texas Court of Appeals in their opinion has ruled that BV is a public figure, albeit a limited public figure. Well, exactly. You can't go around terrorizing everyone publicly, popping up on Dr. Phill, 20/20 and similar shows, constantly out and harass whoever crosses your path, then try to claim you're private. Doesn't work that way. Thank you Court of Appeal.

I think we are seeing the manifestation of growing up spoiled, in chronic chaos with a panoply of caregivers, in the public eye, with one of the most hateful divorces I've ever seen in my life that is still dripping with acrimony.
If this clip represents the children's behavior throughout filming, it will be very hard to watch.
It's like you just never know when fighting and screaming will break out.

I couldn't live like that.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

It breaks my heart for anyone to have to live in that sort of constant chaos.

A child needs peace. A child needs a calm home. A child has a right to a sanctuary and a peaceful homelife as much as an adult does. Some fighting is normal among siblings, but it should be far outweighed by the calm, good, happy times. This is outrageous.

I hope and believe we can have an honest discussion about the kids and their behavior.
I know that they are a product of their upbringing, and as we've long suspected, it's not going to turn out pretty.
Between seeing the kids on the Katie Couric show, the last specials and now this clip of utter chaos in the home (and more petulence on a lavish vacation), there's not much that I can praise.
At least not while they're with Kate.
They might be very different with Jon.

Vanessa said...

Those kids scream and yell because that's all they've been immersed in since birth. JOOOOOONNNNNNN!!!!
They certainly come across and little brats. When you have a jerk as your role model, what other outcome could there be. Oh man, I see padded walls for her when those kids are alll in their teens. Did you see one of the tups flinch when another was tossing a toy? I believe there is a lot of slaps, punches etc. just wait tfw just wait

Tucker's Mom said...

I also don't understand why Kate has to create the drama of making a disgusting mess when filming, especially on vacation.
It's like the kids are either spotless, or are acting like animals flinging sewage/mud, smearing food and now smashing pumpkins at a large target (which is just plain stupid).
OK, maybe the pudding painting was cute when they were 5, but at 10, why don't we see the kids doing something constructive, like playing a sport?
It's just so affected, so just for the cameras, and so to make more "mayhem".
"Look how crazy having 8 kids is!!!!!!!!!!!!"

And the "I can't hear you", when the kids are hollering, is just as bad as when Kate shrugged her shoulders and said she lets the kids punch each other and "work it out".
You do hear them and you do see the physical outbursts and spitting.
You just do.

I hate how the tagline to these episodes focuses on the kids' bratty behavior.

There's nothing cute about 10 year olds acting like 2 year olds patting a lobster and having to be told that they can't keep them as pets. How dumb does she want us to think her kids are?

If the clip is a short peek into what is going to be on, people can save themselves, from watching, cause the rest of the specials will be more of the same.

I would be totally ashamed of my kids if they acted that way. The Kate Gosselin guide to raising children, first lesson, let them fight it out, don't do anything. Yeah, that is why so many people & teens stab or shoot one another during holidays & birthdays, and these people are family members. Fighting over food, games, & computers. I can see something like that happening to the G8, in the future to a sib or outsider or even at school. Kate does nothing to stop it. And that pic of her in the kitchen next to the pot, I first thought Kate had on sexy PJ's, but a closer look a sundress & cardigan? in the kitchen? JMO
