hey, everybody. I have something to tell you. I am just heartbroken. I found out yesterday that a fan of kate has been harassing me really, really bad on twitter. It seems like she/he/it went back and read everything I have ever posted here and twisted everything and tweeted it out to the world.
She made fun of my health, said I had a dx of a disease that I do not have, use a catheter, my ex leaving me because I nagged him to death, I was obese, and a obese stroked out, mean spirited, made fun of me watching Law and Order: SVU and Andy Griffith and much more horrible things. She/he/it even made fun of my tweets to dr. drew and said that do you think he will answer the intuitional woman, claims that I am Milo. And then said, I am Milo, Brenda and another crazy fan all in one. But to top it all off, she made fun of me being a Christian.
That was it. I reported she/he/it. I am hoping they suspend the account. This was all yesterday evening. Then I looked today and it was much worse! I found out that you could change your username and keep your followers, but it still showed lukebandit on it. I said, that's it. So I took the advice I have been giving kate for a long time.
I was thinking I may have to quit posting here and that thought hurt me the most. I love it here because of everyone who posts here. We help each other, console each other and share our dreams, hopes and recipes! But, most of all: we want kate to stop abusing the kids and animals and STOP FILMING! But, I thought I could change my sign in name. But I am not going to do that. IT can kiss my GRITS! I just wish I could find out who it is, stand up, and beat IT'S @**!!!
I deactivated my twitter account. Now, I won't have to see the bad stuff anymore. If another account is vomited on by IT, I will shut it down immediately. Oh, and the tweeter is Cowsbytheriver. The account is only barely 3 months old and already has 1165 tweets.

Lukebandit...that person is not a Kate fan, as far as I know. Why she or he would do that really is odd, but that person also went by another name and was suspended. He/she has a history of poking fun at the kids with really horrible name-calling, and has some weird fascination with weight and obesity. I think that at one time she claimed to be a physician. Both the fans and non-fans find her annoying.
If that person is suspended, I would imagine that it would only resurface again under another name.
I would consider the source on that one. There is clearly much anger there, and something is really, really off. If it were me, I'd ignore, ignore, ignore.

Luke Bandit - I'm sorry about what has happened to you on Twitter. I think it's a very good idea to close out your twitter account and stay away from twitter. It's turned into a cesspool because it's anarchy there. Anything goes, and it's all too easy to open a new account if yours gets suspended. It's a painful experience to be sure, but maybe the silver lining is that you are leaving twitter behind.
I hope you'll feel safe enough to keep posting here. And this advice goes to everyone: Even here, try not to share too many details about your life, especially where you live, where you work, your real name, where you went to high school or college and what year you graduated, etc., etc. It's so nice to share here, memories from the past or little events that happen to us in our daily lives. But be careful and leave out specifics that might identify you.

The other day I saw a commercial for a new show on TLC, with a female host. Apparently it's going to be some sort of talk show, mixed with other stuff. As best as I can tell, it's designed to showcase TLC shows and their stars. Not one mention of Kate, Kate Plus 8, or anything Kate-related. If TLC had a new show in the offing, starring Kate and the children, it seems like they'd be promoting it, but they aren't.
I bet that Kate's ego is so puffed up right now that she had to go out and buy several new good bras in a larger size.

I think TLC is sticking with Kate because although she and her family have really nothing interesting to film now, they will in the near future.
The Little Couple and 19 Kids and Counting prove this. Their shows were pulling around 1 million before the adoptions and the Duggar proposals and weddings. The Duggars now have 3 million viewers last season because of the proposals. Same for The Little Couple--their ratings have skyrocketed to around 3 million.
In a few years, there will be 8....yes, count'm 8, smart-ass teenagers to tell Kate off and drama will ensue big time. Not to mention the tups going into puberty and the twins datings. Soon it will be all the tups dating and marrying. I think TLC is not willing to let the Gosselins go because of that. There will soon be huge changes coming for the Gosselins and that mean many more millions for TLC.
I think they cut Kate lose 3 years ago because her salary was out of control along with her demands. They needed to seperate with her so she could calm down and not take TLC for granted and see how the kids were doing in school.

I agree that the blog itself can be confusing to read, especially if you are not familiar with all the "players." The comments posted to the various blogs can cover quite the range from intelligent response to utter vulgarity, but the blog owner apparently believes in allowing free speech on the site.
I think it is a good source of information, but you have to read carefully and ignore the extraneous stuff. That's why I don't visit there except once a week or so. It's too much for my already-crowded brain lol.

An article on kate and her coming back showed 2 pictures. One was of kate and Steve shopping at night and going to the limo to get in. This was in 2010. Then they show that picture of Steve holding the door with his foot so kate can walk in when she was doing CA. Remember the smirky smile on her face? Wow. Compared to the one from 2010 till 4 years later was night and day. Wow. She looked bad compared from just 4 years ago. I wish I had the link. I will try to find it.
On MSN, there is the sliding stories. There is kate sitting on a chair on a talk show with a surprised grin on her face and her hand out. It says, more Kate plus 8 coming. Wow. If her ego doesn't get out of control now, it never will. Wish the person who took the pictures of the kids and Steve in Boston would of got pictures of the "tv production crew".

As I said, the only thing I'll believe over there are signed, dated copies of court filings. I've seen nothing to indicate there is a lawsuit against CJ. What I've seen that is legit are copies of documents posted by the bullyboy gang, nothing from the other side, police reports, this new lawsuit against CJ, etc.

I was wrong last spring when I guessed the K8 plus 8 filming was set to coincide with CA, that they would boost each other's ratings. Turns out, they were filming those birthday specials, and CA itself was shelved. But maybe this new filming caper has something to do with CA's (alleged) airing in December...Hand in glove, affiliated networks helping each other out.

As for the new episodes, IMO the kids did not come off well on the birthday ones ( I watched On Demand which I don''t think counts in the ratings?) Their behavior was atrocious, except the boys'. I read some horrible things about some of the Gosselins written as comments on another site. That alone should make their mother cringe and stop this insanity of putting them all "out there." Aren't we, as parents, supposed to protect our children. I know it sounds mediocre to Kate to work a regular job, but it just might protect her children. I could understand her staying at home if she "home schooled" the 8, but come on, we all know that in fact she is still trying for the limelight. It is her goal, not the goal of her children. Since the filming is in progress, this is not a made up story, so I am over my shock and accept this is the kids' future. Once again, Kate has masterminded continued filming. So the last piece of Kate's masterminding is Steve...will he become a real member of the family or is it all just hype? I haven't a clue other than he is making money, aside from TLC employing him, as a partner with Kate.

Although it's convoluted, I found it to be the best and most credible and certainly most RATIONAL rundown of what was going on in the entire mess. I could not help but think of TFW when I saw the outpouring of love for Robin Williams. Except for that Fox asshole who called him a coward, noone had ANYTHING bad to say about the man. He was humble, lived among the mediocre in San Francisco. He was described as: kind, genorous, sweet, funny, talented, brilliant, humble, loving...by fans and people who had met him. Yes, TFW has some fans (God knows why) but she is generall described as: mean, selfish, greedy, exploitative, fake, plastic, condescending....(yes Milo would say "positive (where she gets that I'll never know...refer to Alaska episode), determined, full-of-integrity, but Milo lives in opposite world).
Anyway, here's this wonderful man who couldn't see through the dark at all the love he has, and there's a woman who is vile through-and-through and literally hated and could care less as long as she has her money and spotlight. She is vapid.

I guess I don't understand ratings, because if I were a network, I'd look at the ratings of the SECOND special to get an idea of what more episodes would really bring in. That took a HUGE drop down to 1.9 and if I were a betting man I'd bet the trend would be downward as people get their "fix" of seeing the kids and then move on. Just like the series three years ago which saw a steady and consistent downward trend until it was in the gutter under one million! I think the average of the two is meaningless since the first episode is always going to have the curious lookie loos who drive past momentarily and never come back. How could any sane network depend on that group to continue to give them big numbers? It makes no sense.
I am surprised, because I am surprised that a huge downward trend that has already put her in the 1-millions range is good enough for TLC. My only conclusion is that they have no good prospects for other talents on the horizon they are confident are going to do better than 1.9 million. No other Honey Boo Boos ready to take center stage. So that being the case they'll take the 1.9 million and run.

They are plenty old enough to pick out their own clothes, pack their own lunches, figure out their shopping lists for school supplies and keep track of their homework and other school obligations. I doubt Discovery will pay any attention if you go to consumer relations, but if you contact the person in charge of advertising (rep at proctor and gamble, etc) and tell THEM, THEY will DEFINITELY listen if enough people contact. If someone here has the episode from this summer and is willing to list the companies who advertised (Not Proctor and Gamble but specifically Oil of Olay or Tide, etc.), I'm willing to try to find out the specific contacts' email address and see if they're on any other social media. Plenty of time between now and December to get a show pulled.
If they do go forward and air these episodes, just don't watch...no DVR, nothing, since DVR does count toward Nielson ratings. Honestly, I'm so tired of seeing this smug, no-talent bleached beast. I can go to any of the top 20 metropolitan areas in the US and find a single mother raising 8 kids on her own and she doesn't have a staff, TV income or a bodyguard/married f**k buddy.

No. I think he has asked the judge his kids not be filmed and the judge denied his request. It's really not any more complicated than that. You win some you lose some in family law court, and sometimes judges don't get excited about things you see as a very big deal and a very big problem. It either is or isn't a problem for the judge, and if it's not, there's nothing you can do about it but move on.
Tamara Barney has been asking the judge that SHE be permitted to film the children on her time and Simon, if he wishes (he doesn't) is permitted to film them on HIS time. It's a reasonable request and one the judge may very well grant, or not, depending n the judge.
Right, it's the advertisers who need to be contacted . And the more people who contact, the better. It was tried years ago with little success, but I do believe it worked with KMart and her clothing line.
I think what fans (either real or purchased) fail to realize is that this is only going to be another special and not a new show. In the special TLC will show the worst behavior of all involved because it seems to be what people want to see of TFW and her brood. People won't tune in to see perfectly mannered little robots or a Stepford mother. They'll tune in to see TFW melt down, Mady talk back to TFW and say rude things about the tups, girl tups hit boy tups and tattle on them, boy tups look downtrodden and Cara retreat more into herself. They don't care about the health and well being of those kids they want to see them at their worst so that they can point at them and say "Thank God my kids don’t act like that" and those fans (Milo I'm looking at you) who think everything is wonderful in that house and that she's a great mother and that the kids love filming are looking at it with blinders on. TFW will make an ass of herself as she tries to show what a good mother she is (remember the whole ugly hair use your filter lecture?) and she'll make exaggerated facial expressions and mug for the camera to show her acting chops. A summer vacation/back-to-school show in December? OhhhhhKayyyyy. I really have no hope for any of those kids now, God help them because no one else seems to be able to. At this point, I think it prudent that any judge show more rigor in his/her decision and insist on having each child interviewed.
Jon has said that some kids don't want to film, and his position is that filming is harming his kids.
Why take his word, or Kate's word?
The children are old enough to speak for themselves, and a trained professional should be able to conduct an impartial interview and provide an environment conducive to the child speaking openly and honestly (to the extent that Kate's parental alienation and iron-fisted control will allow).
It's worth a thought.

The only silver lining I can think of is, TFW is probably much easier
to live with when she has the prospect of working. Several of us
commented on how bleak it must be in the compound when there
is no show-biz carrot dangling for TFW. Can you imagine how
joyless she'd be with winter approaching, long drives to the bus
stop (or naps while the nanny takes them), and every other
weekend with these children who are getting bigger and stronger

No ;) I was supporting your point, because some posters have been sort of blaming the release of Robert's book, and that's just not what made the show come back in whatever form.
TLC didn't decide just last month, when Radar was running pieces of the book, to put K+8 back on for another special.
This has been in the works. No sane business just flies by the seat of the pants, and if we look at other TLC shows that are no longer officially a series, we see that what TLC does is strategically parse out specials, knowing that fans will be hungry for an update.
If K+8 was pulled when the kids were 17 and 20, I could see anticipating never seeing another special. But, the kids have plenty of minor-age years left to film updates that include the whole (captive) gang.
Face it, if you were drunk with the notion that Kate was done filming her kids, it's time to face the sober truth.
Unless Jon can stop this (unlikely given history), only the children can even attempt to be exempt on an individual basis.
Food for thought: perhaps, airing the special in December has a purpose after all. Think about it, what goes on in December, especially right after Thanksgiving? SHOPPING, parties, Xmas specials, preparing for Xmas, making cookies etc, most regular TV is done. So it means there is nothing really to watch. Most kids, are too busy, to want to watch someone else kids having things, entitled to stuff, etc, the only ones who will watch are Kate lunies, and the curious/bored people, cause everyone else is busy.
The last special was in June, when a lot of kids were out of school, a lot of people were on vacation, a lot spending time outside not in front of a TV. Kids, would rather be outside(depending on age) playing, in the pool, riding bikes, adults would do the same(outside, twittering, on the phone, in the pool, than watch TV.
TLC purposely pick those times of year, knowing that rating would be bad. Remember TLC has new heads over there, they are going to tell Kate when & where with the specials, not Kate telling them this is how it is going to be. The birthday was the first, in the yard, nothing special about that, they tried to make her look like all the moms out there, it backfired. Traveling around New England is fine & nice if you are older, and you are interested in history, or are passing by and go for a look. Most people with kids, don't normally do history vacations, to kids it is a bore. You take the kids to Disney, beach, camping, any place with a pool or beach, this is summer. Yes, I know the kids have been to Disney, they were also, 3-4, years old, and probably don't remember it. WE saw how one of the boys, did not remember they went or had that trip or did that tour, or were at that place. How many of the other kids remember any of those things? If they don't watch their fantasy life on DVD of what they did as kids, then they would not remember anything.

I agreed to a little less than the calculation showed.
I don't think they said, hey Enforcement Officer, we agreed Jon does not have to pay child support in exchange for legal custody. I think they made the deal privately, she filed for legal custody, he didn't fight it. He filed for a child support modification, she agreed to zero. Done and done.

Yes, spot on, PatK! And, as another poster mentioned earlier, this desperation could be exactly why TLC waited three years before coming back to her with a proposition. To me, the fact that the family traveled in the BBB is a big indicator that Kate's diva days are over. She's not a "stah" anymore. She might be a notch or two over the Gypsy Sisters, the Amish runaways or the young kids from "Out of Alaska", but not that much more. She probably still can bring enough audience numbers to meet TLC expectations, but she'll never get back to getting outside offers left and right from Walmart, Juicy Juice, Anne Taylor, etc... She's bankable for the shock factor, not as role model anymore.

It was in 2009, with Walmart and HealthTex, and it never materialized because she was going through the divorce at the time and the reps said it was on hold because she was having "family issues" and didn't have time to devote to the project.
I have to agree with Tucker's Mom on this. If Jon is adamant that some of the kids do not want to film and that the continued filming is hurting them why would a judge not interview them rather than just unilaterally decide that TFW, who apparently says that they want to film and that the filming isn’t hurting them, can film all of them when she wants. They’re certainly old enough to voice their own opinion. The only way that I can rationalize this is that it is part of the original contract that they will product X number of specials before the contract is completely done.
I will continue to ask where Jon is in all of this becasue I really do want to know. Did he try and fail? Did he just give up? Did he get paid off? Unless someone has some inside information we just don't know where Jon is in all of this and everything that everyone says is just speculation. Although I think he may be the better parent (now) I'm not on the St. Jon the Devine bandwagon just yet.
If their school starts next week, look for locals to start complaining about her being in their stores soon like they did when she was filming the update special. I mean school starts next week, right?

Ok, this may sound masochistic,( and I'm not saying it's not) but has anyone else pictured Katie's actual response and interactions at Plimouth Plantation? I imagine they are cringe inducing.

Sigh. Kate gets renewed life with her unique brand of indentured servitude. Those children are doomed to perform in her dog and pony show until they are of age (or desperation) to end the filming themselves.
I have also resigned myself to the fact that, even after the kids are old enough to stop the filming, some of them won't want to. Some will end up completely brainwashed to believe that, without filming, they will live a life of poverty and misery. This will cause them no end of grief as they forever try to be on reality TV.
The only consolation through this is that we know Kate will screw up this opportunity just like she has screwed up every other opportunity she has ever been given. She will continue to be seen as a terrible, vile thing. That will never change.

Agreed. We know that he has tried in the past to get a court order to stop filming of the children, and lost. He's not made of money either. It's very expensive to pay attorney's fees to file yet another motion to stop filming, especially when the same judge has ruled in the past that Kate could take the children out of the country for filming. What makes it any better prospect that the same judge would say no to filming in Boston, just a few hours away?
While I agree that the twins are certainly old enough to be allowed a voice, we also know that their mother probably bribes them not to object to filming.
I am as puzzled as most to think TLC would order more episodes. Watching Kate go back-to-school shopping? I know it's hard to accept but when these judges in family law make a decision it's usually over. You have a few very limited options. Appeal, which is usually a road to nowhere. Or file for a change in order but you better be able to show circumstances are drastically different or there is some new info the judge didn't know before, also difficult to show. They have to be firm about their orders or there would be constant chaos for children. This leaves the person on the receiving end feeling helpless and defeated. And also dealing with constant criticism from people who werent there demanding why they won't just do something. That's not how it works.
There is nothing TO do in family law. The decision has been made and you have to live with it. I get where they are coming from. They have to make very difficult calls with often limited information. I'm sure Kate's case was compelling too. But they have got to just make the call and then stick with the call. It's just how it works and I don't recommend ever getting divorced.

My kids were the same age as the younger Gosselins when we traveled around New England, and they while they do like history to a certain extent, they knew nothing at the time about the Witch Trials, but they had learned about the Pilgrims and the Mayflower. They absolutely love New England, particularly Salem, the Wharf, Plimoth, and ask to go back there every year.
I guess it depends on the child, and if the parent shows enthusiasm and is able to explain the history of it all. This is something that I seriously doubt that Kate does.

I assume the RA patient is under physician's care, because there are meds to help control the symptoms.
In general, RA patients can benefit from researching foods that increase the body's inflammatory response, and the foods that can reduce inflammation, and eat more of those.
Other than that, it depends on the symptoms and how they impact activities of daily living.

I respect your right to your own opinion, but I respectfully disagree. TLC has shown me time and again that they care little what I think about their programming decisions. I doubt that TLC execs read this blog and think that our conversations warrant them expending money to create yet another show featuring Kate and the children.
In fact, I know that it's only about one thing - making money, for TLC and for their advertisers. They want to make a certain amount of return on their investment. They are also always looking for that newest thing that might catch the public's attention. In the meantime, they may run a special now and then as filler, or they might even consider a shortened season (5 or 6 episodes).

I'm going to have to disagree about Jon and his hands being tied. That may be true but I believe if he really wanted to, he could find some free legal help and if he couldn't, he still could let it be known that he does not agree and he cannot stop it because of finances or whatever. No, I think Jon is tired and wants to get on with his own life. Admin is very familiar with family law and how it's not black and white. Most times, someone is unhappy after a ruling is made. It can seem arbitrary and unfair. But judges have to make the best ruling with the information they have and the current case law.
As to Jon and what he has or has not done -- none of us are privvy to what he and his attorneys have discussed. We are only aware of the rulings in the case and we know that the judge has ruled against him on more than one occasion on the issue of filming.
As to finding free legal help - believe me when I say that the free legal clinics are overwhelmed with demand. They usually offer limited types of legal services as well. Here is the blurb from my county's local legal aid program:
"*** assists with a range of crisis legal needs, including family violence issues (domestic violence and civil harassment restraining orders), child abuse and neglect issues (protective guardianships for children) and low-income housing issues (eviction and habitability complaints)."
You'll notice that the services focus on "crisis" legal needs and there is no mention of assisting an individual with filing a motion to change custody, stop a former spouse from filming the children, etc. Attorneys have bills to pay too, and they might offer a half-hour or hour's free consultation, but after that they expect (rightly so) to be paid for their services.
He has already let it be known that he does not agree with the children being filmed.
I think sometimes we forget that we are outsiders in this situation, and that it's not really our business, beyond choosing not to watch any show that we feel exploits these children. We can get so frustrated on behalf of the children. Until we've walked a mile in Jon's shoes, I'm not sure we can truly understand what he's been dealing with for over 14 years (10 years of marriage, and 4-5 years since the divorce).

Why TLC would want ratings to be bad, ask yourself why did they let Kate be Kate in the RV episode? It was not for good ratings, it was to cancel K8. Whatever the last contract contained, to make specials, after show is off the air, TLC is honoring it, nothing in the contract probably says they have to put the show/special on at a certain time to get good ratings, just that the shows/specials have to air, cause they have a contract. TLC excuse to up hold the contract and get rid of her at the same time, while making some cash off of her, Kate gets some perks, a little cash, airtime, her mug on TV, the way TLC wants, not what kate wants, but Kate is desperate to get/be on TV, and will do whatever to get there. Hook or crook. Look at Honey Bo bo, that show is in decline, and will some time in the near future disappear to specials. Shuts Kate up, and fulfills the contract.

It's a tough diagnosis but RA is treatable. It's an autoimmune disease and what's most important is to slow down and/or stop any joint destruction. There are a lot of great meds available these days, don't be afraid of them. :) glad you're going to a rheumie, as s/he will be with you as you move forward and make medical decisions. My opinion is that I'm not buying into the assumption that Kate has a new series with TLC. I could very well be wrong, but I just don't think so. Remember when Kate and TLC both touted Twist of Kate and even gave an approximate premier month? Remember Kate on talk shows promoting her new show Twist of Kate? Remember the sightings of them filiming Twist of Kate? Yet, Twist of Kate never saw the light of day on TLC or any other network. I'm glad the kids got to visit historic New England. Yes, kids would probably prefer lounging around on the beach or going to an amusement park, but an educational trip visiting historic sites will benefit them so much more when they study those places and events in school. They've been in the pool all summer, so I think that this trip would be a positive thing. It would be better without cameras shoved in their faces, though, and without Kate being her miserable self.
Kate got a free vacation. She will get her mug on television. She got to spend time with Steve. She's three for three. What more could a greedy gal ask for?

Hi All! Obviously the "news" of more specials has struck a nerve with many. The majority here care about the kids first, so I get what is going on.
It's been said that it is eventually going to be up to the kids to say ENOUGH, and I think that is true, and that this is what will eventually shut down filming of THEM. Until they say I am not filming, this will continue. If they want to stop filming, they can let their dad know but they are young and stuck in the middle of this mess.
Some of the kids were clearly showing signs of "wear and tear" in the last special, but as they get older, I think some, not all of them, hopefully will voice their objection to Jon. I hate the parent alienation, but as they get older and wiser, I think they will find the voice, if they no longer want to film. 10 years old may be too young, but one 13 year old is rebelling and one says next to nothing. Give it time - it will run its course, and not going to be pretty, except for those who truly want to film. Never mind the books to come out after they are 18. JMO.
Not being passive-aggressive, but I do believe the kids will eventually be their own solution. Not right, but will naturally happen as they mature.
It is all about MONEY. If we don't want the kids exploited, then we need to let our voices be heard. We can write to TLC and the sponsors of the show and voice our concern.

Welcome NewbieHere. Please don't apologize for respectfully speaking your thoughts. Unfortunately, everything you have suggested has been done and done again from the beginning of this mess. People contacted the FCC, sponsors, TLC, Discovery, legislators and media outlets. The only solid victory to come of it all was that it got the attention of Rep. Tom Murt, who sponsored and got legislation passed to address these working children. But even that legislation has not stopped the exploitation train the way many of us had hoped it would.
Many of us who have been invested in this situation for years have come to realize that there is really nothing more we can do. It is frustrating and maddening, but the best we can do for now is to continue to call Kate out on her lies, and meet here to "talk" to each other.
Ok, I have to eat crow. I felt there was no way TLC was behind this filming but according to The Wall Street Journal online, TLC confirmed that K+8 will return in December for "additional hours". They will follow a family vacation in NE and as they prepare for a new school year. As I believe Rhymes said: SSDY. Boring!

It seems to me a lot of celebs are awkward and disconnected. It's just that in some of them it manifests itself in mean and nasty behavior like my narcissist, like Kate, and others.

Me too. But you have to admit the way the article was worded was very strange and light on details. And they never actually said they were told by TLC or a source close to TLC. They didn't mention they had a source at all. If they had a good source why on earth didn't they say so in the first place? It would have made the whole article make a heck of a lot more sense. As it was written, anyone could have written that based on the Radar sighting.
In any case it's neither here nor there, and yes count me in on the camp that has given up. I think writing or making a stink will just prove to TLC that she is controversial. That's obviously exactly what they are going for. If they want to pay a child abuser to continue to exploit her children, that's on their conscience. If others have renewed energy and want to do something that's their choice but I wouldn't expect this to be campaign headquarters over here. Much like the family law court, the court of TLC has made its decision and at a certain point you have to accept it and move on. If you have accepted there's nothing else you can do, then you can understand Jon's predicament. And you can't say but he's their parent, because it's obvious many people have cared just as much about the fate of these children as they would one of their own. Accepting that bad things happen and that you've done what you can and can't do anymore, is just part of life.

For all we know she's held out on THEM all the time wanting her salary of yesteryear from 2009. It's amazing how quickly your salary can go up and down depending on your popularity. That's just Hollywood. But someone like Kate would probably want what she was making in 2009 no matter what and wouldn't factor in what TLC would.
It's entirely plausible they offered her all along, say, a measly 3,000 an episode or something until she finally got desperate and said fine I'll take it. Anything is possible. And make no mistake TLC is working these kids like nuts just before school starts. The second that school bell rings, their hours by operation of law suddenly drop drastically.

Let me guess. If Kate and her "brood" (I HATE THAT) with slimey Steve are staying at a house rental, I am gonna bet it's near water. I believe they are somewhere else other than Boston filming now. It would be interesting to know more from that tweeter as to where the house she is supposed to be renting is located.
I believe TLC is going to do specials, not weekly episodes. And I agree she's not grossing the big bucks this time around. Her ratings draw is low or I guess average for TLC.
I think K+8 is just going to be filler between fall/spring seasons for TLC. And I doubt there are more than 2-3 upcoming episodes. It's hard to imagine that they would stretch school shopping into a whole episode. Buying clothes, shoes, backpacks, lunch boxes, and pencils…they have done that same episode over and over with this family. It seems like they can't come up with anything new for them to do. Or they just don't care enough to figure out new things to film. Airing summer vacay and school shopping in December? What's next, filming Christmas and airing it in June?
I doubt that K is making big money on these episodes. She was so demanding and full of herself back in 2011, and TLC cut her loose. She spent 3 years begging and pleading at every turn for a new show, and nobody was interested. She had to have realized that she needs TLC. TLC does not need her. This filming will be on their terms. She will take what they want to pay. No $250K paychecks. She'll be driving the BBB to Boston instead of flying to exotic destinations. She'll be getting backpacks and school shoes instead of pool slides and tree houses. At this point, she knows she's not in a position to play hardball because she has no other options.

TFW has some balls on her. Most of us plan our vacation way on advance and only have a certain amount of time to take it because, well, we have to go back to work and our boss might not care that #Katefreekingosselin wouldn't vacate the house we were supposed to be in.

If they are filming, the rental agreement is not with Kate, it is with TLC. Perhaps the homeowner is choosing TLC $ and welching on their rental deal with this guy. You have no idea.
If it's on her dime, she can't refuse to leave without repercussions. If she paid for the extra nights, the issue is with the owners of the home, who should have honored their agreement with the other party. If she has not paid and is essentially squatting, the police can take care of that little matter.
While the guy may very well be out a rental home, the story that Kate simply refuses to leave doesn't ring true.
It's still astounding to me that TLC continues to film this family. It does appear to be all about money. I just can't stomach watching child abuse and rampant assholism in real time. It's just too sad

Yesterday, I felt quite disgusted by the fact that Kate is forcing filming on the kids during their ONLY vacation in over 2 years.

Well, somebody will drive the bbb to Boston, but probably not TFW.
Staff will drive it there. TFW and kids and Steve will fly there, meet the bbb someplace, and pretend/imply that they drove it there. Then they all will fly home, and the staff person will drive the bbb back to PA.
Heck, they might not even drive it there. Production will just rent an identical vehicle in Boston, which will meet TFW at her hotel (right after she gets out the limo).
Can you see TFW driving the bbb in a strange city when she can't even get herself and her little car to her local radio station?

Well, the tweeter said Kate wouldn't leave, not that the rental wouldn't honor their agreement, so maybe she is squatting. This happens all the time. And especially with celebs. She may have suddenly decided to tack on a few days to her trip and told the owners as such. If they told her no, she could stay anyway. Yes they could call the cops, but most states really protect tenants and it's a long process to initiate an eviction. I don't know what state this is but in CA good luck getting anybody out in anything less than 90 days. The cops aren't going to drag you out of there, they're going to tell you to contact a landlord-tenent lawyer and good luck.
Like many celebs she may feel entitled to extend her days on a whim without consideration for other bookings. And if they're filming and don't feel comfortable they have enough footage, I can see how they might suddenly want to extent their stay and perhaps even paid more to do so. We don't know that the rental didn't offer the other family that had a booking a full refund and another week's night stay free or other perks to make it up to them.
In any case, even if it were the rental owners' fault, what about morality? If somebody is waiting for a rental they have booked because of you and your rudeness, have some morality and get OUT.
Barbara Streisand has a horrible reputation for walking up to any Broadway will call and demanding tickets even for sold out shows. She would get them and the shows would take them from someone else, which apparently in the fine print they have every right to do. Celebs DO do this. They DO screw other people over and leave people up a creek, make no mistake. Most people are just polite enough not to say much about it and just suck it up. But this person looks young and blabby.

Did the person tweet that she paid for the house in advance? We rented a vacation house a few years ago, and while we did have to put a deposit on it, the final amount due wasn't paid until we actually took possession of it for the week.
Most people are just polite enough not to say much about it and just suck it up. But this person looks young and blabby. 6

I am not on Twitter, so I don't know if this is a legit person. Being ever the skeptic, though, something feels off about this. I wonder if this is just a planted tweet to fuel another feeding frenzy of disgust about TFW. It seems like TLC is banking on her bad behavior to bring in more viewers. It is a strategy that seems to be working, at least in the short term.
The twitter account is real. She has hundreds of tweets and not a single one are about Kate. She looks normal to me, has a picture of her with her dad. She looks like a teen.
In any case we have no idea what the finer details of it are. But given Kate's history, I'm guessing she is responsible for at least a portion of it somehow.
And yes she should blab if she wants to. I wasn't saying she shouldn't. I was just saying celebs or the rich stomp all over people every day and people just don't say anything. I wasn't commenting on whether being quiet is the right thing to do, just saying it IS what many people do out of "politeness".
