Kate blasted by the hosts of 'The Talk': 'They didn't get a chance to choose it.'

Sharon Osbourne, Marie Osmond, Sara Gilbert and other industry experts discussed Kate on today's show. Said Gilbert: "Any time you're putting kids on T.V.--I was a kid on T.V. and I wanted to be there--but if you're putting eight kids on T.V. from the time they are tiny you don't know which ones want to be there and which ones don't. ... I chose it. They didn't get a chance to choose it."

Osbourne also explained that people in the business, like Gilbert's legendary family, have a much better understanding of how the industry works than ill-prepared and naive reality T.V. families from middle America: "It's our industry. We know what we're going to get, you know what you're not going to get. So therefore, it's a whole different thing."

I'm behind in reading, thought of another reason why Sharon Osbourne may be so negative about TFMJG.
Sharon and Ozzy s daughter Kelly was on Dancing With The Stars in 2009, she made it to third place. Their son jack Osbourne was on DWTS in 2013. Sharon has seen thru her children how hard you have to work on that show. And three was probably some backstage gossip about some of the worst contestants ever. I'm such a DWTS fan, I should have thought of that connection earlier.
i'm just stopping by to say, say it with me now, TFMJG is BORING!
Real life is busy and Big Brother is lots and lots of fun, thanks to the poster who mentioned hamster watch, it is so fun to see screen grabs of live feeds.
We will still plan a trip to Cape Cod and the islands later this week maybe? any excuse for rumspringa! It has to be Multi day trip, and we will need Flight of the Kiwis husbands 1980s faux suede lazy boy recliner and time travel machine. Either that or a TARDIS. Or maybe Harrison Ford could chauffeur us by helicopter, I understand he is a licensed pilot. Ta Ta for now!

I'm behind as usual, but I haven't seen this mentioned yet.

I will never forget how a few years ago, Kate's reason for needing to film the kids was she would do anything to "pay her kid's bills."

That always struck me as an odd turn of phrase because since when do children have bills?

====

The basic rule of thumb in decoding Katespeak is when she says things like "the kids' bills", or "the kids want to keep filming" or "the kids cried when our show was cancelled", or "I feel they deserve that much" or " we can't just go back to living in a house where we're all on top of each other", she's talking about her wants and needs. It's always about Kate.

While I think it could be fun, I doubt that Jon takes the kids to the shore. I'm sure that she'd give him hell for taking the kids out of state. I know she does it without notice to him. But if he is trying to change anything, it is best to be known as the parent who obeys the court. There is a small beach at Blue Marsh Lake. And lots of other fun things to do within state lines.

Kathy Griffin works hard. I think the driving force of her life has been the desire to be somebody famous; and to be prettier than nature gave her. So she took what nature gave her and worked with it. Tried the stand up route (moderately successful), got gigs on a few tv sitcoms (again, funny but no lasting gigs and she didn't shoot up into the A-list). But she hung in there and she still does all the crap work needed to keep her face and her name out there. She puts all her focus and her energy and her desire into her career. I might not like her as a person; and I might not make her same choices, but no one can say she doesn't work her fingers to the bone.

Kate wants to have the big, expensive home; the expensive cars; the status of "celebrity," but she is either unwilling or unable to put in the hard work. She still thinks that somehow she can get another show with the children and refuses to accept that her window of opportunity has closed.

A sensible person might be re-evaluating their spending habits and budget at this point. She's not sensible and she doesn't deal well with reality either. She'll keep spending until the well runs dry.

My BFF's ex (a total narcissist) was a licensed electrician who used to call wife #1 from the job site, crying, begging her to let him quit. (the job was beneath him, in his eyes)

He spent the next 28 years of his life, dressing up and pretending he had places to go and people to see, yet he didn't have 2 nickels to rub together. He's the one that applied for a government job that paid a 6 figure salary when he had NO computer skills and was devastated when he didn't get the job. He felt it was a political smear campaign against him. And yet, he renewed his electrician's licence every single year. It was one of his narcissistic trophies.

Believe me, Kreider will never go back to nursing. She'd have a complete mental breakdown. She'll end up on welfare (which she won't think is beneath her, but is owed to her) before she takes on a real job she doesn't feel is worthy of her. And doesn't she renew her nursing license? I believe she stated that once. It's her trophy.

Watching DVDs of the show are all about filling her narc supply. The guy I mentioned above had a box of pictures of his life that he went through constantly to relive his dubious glory days. It's sad and pathetic, but there really is no cure.

She may have other mental health issues, but she's a narc, through and through.

I like Kathy Griffin and have seen her live a couple times.
She's a sharp cookie, and has made Kate the subject of fodder for her act.
Kathy has told some funny jokes, and of course she's skewered Jon, but I never felt that it was mean, in fact, I think they've met more than once and lunched together.
Kathy just knows that Kate is universally yucked, like Paris Hilton and Goopy, so she uses her encounters with these people to make us laugh.
Kathy's ex totally screwed her over and stole money, unlike Jon, who took money he also earned. Yet, Kathy spoke about the situation briefly, a few years back, and I've never heard her mention him again.
In fact, now she's a cougar and seems happier- she moved on, which is something Kate should do.

Which brings me to what I think is the biggest reason Kate is not liked- she never evolves (inside, not outside). Kate's narrative and schtick never change, and people are so damn tired of hearing it.

I agree. Think it would be more interesting and fruitful, for non-fans to NOT post on twitter for a one week ban to see who actually shows up.
Bots, advertisers and a few fans. Would probably be more fruitful to let her Twitter account alone for a week, and see what happens.

Some of this just keeps her Twitter alive and gives her too much attention. I don't post on Twitter, but occasionally read there, but find it all way too boring. Same sh**, different day.

Totally agree and believe that TFW is totally married to being a "celebrity host/talk show, etc.." when she clearly has no talent.

She did do DWTS (a bomb) and CA( will it air?) without her kids, but I think DWTS actually showed her for who she truly is (little effort, fighting with her dance instructor, special concessions for her to film at home), and the list goes on....

For some reason, she does not appear to understand how repulsive and selfish much of her behavior is. Nor that she does not have any talent. Wondering if she will ever make any effort to pick a realistic job that can come to fruition. She did mention buying a business right after she was "let go," from Kate Plus 8, but no follow through whatsoever. I want to be on film, etc...is still the only solution she has come up with after 10 years. Kind of sad that she "doesn't get it."

Kate never went for more than a couple cycles each pregnancy, did she not?
WTH, "paying dues"?
Some women try for years, suffer miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies and still never are blessed with children.

I've no doubt that Kate didn't want to continue working as a nurse or as anything- not once the show came around.
I can see Kate quitting for a while to be home with the kids, but when she whined and begged for Jon to quit too, well that was just not smart.
Now, they both are out of their chosen fields and banking on a tv career when they were simply plucked from obscurity because they had HOM's.
Jenny Mache never quit her job as a physician's assistant and continues to have a successful career and she's happily remarried and had, wait for it....just ONE more, with her new husband.

Referring back to LCDS tuition, from their website, every family's circumstance is unique as to the cost of tuition and determination of financial aid. They look at income, savings, investments, home equity, number of children attending, etc. so we have absolutely no idea what Kate spends. I doubt she will ever put those kids in public school. LCDS is a small school which gives her control on demands on the administration, teachers, etc. I read that back when the show aired, Steve made demands on the school in the name of "safety" (no paps, no pictures).

Small schools can be a blessing or a curse. You go to school with the same kids year after year. Heaven help you if you are disliked by a clique. Not to say it does not happen in big public schools, but at least you can branch out with new friends and ignore the bullies. At least that was my experience.

Salmon, snow peas, and sweet potatoes. Sounds just like what kids want to eat. /sarcasm.

That is TFW forcing her "nothing tastes as good as skinny feels" diet on her kids. When cooking for 9 people there should be more variety than that. Give the kids a choice of three or four side dishes. If she does have a chef fix the food then it shouldn't be a problem to have a second main item as well.

Of course we all know TFW portions the food out to each child without regard to what they want or how hungry they are. They will eat what she tells them and will like it or else. You would think with a personal chef she would feed the kids tasty, interesting things that a normal parent doesn't have the time to cook. Instead the kids are going to remember meals in that house more like feeding time at a prison.

lukebandit said...

Wowser said...30

Wow, Wowser, you and JMO hit the nail right on the head. She does justify her getting her mind weaned off working a regular job. There is a saying, you feed a man fish for a day, he will go hungry. If you teach him how to fish, he will eat for a lifetime.

ate is like these far and few between tv gigs will feed her for a while, but if she were to go to college and advance her nursing degree or get a degree in communications, she would feed herself and the kids for a lifetime.

I think the reason why she loves to do tv work is that she arrives to the studio by limo w/Steve, walks in, goes straight to the hair/makeup chair, laughs and talks to the makeup people, who she thinks is worthy of her time, talks to the producer, waits w/Steve in the green room, then is called to go out to the stage, goes out and sits down on the couch, chair, whatever and does the interview to pre-screened questions, its over, time to get up, walk out to the limo w/Steve, go to NOBU and order the most expensive meat in the entire world. Kobe Beef, med. rare to med. well. Then go shopping, then back to the kids. And gets paid for it!

She loves the no work involved. Everything is done for her! The food, the accommodations, the hair and makeup. Very little effort on her part, except a few phone calls and emails.
I have read a couple of articles on Kobe beef and the chefs hate cooking Kobe beef anything over rare because it doesn't have enough fat in it. Some won't even guarantee if they cook it the way the customer wants it. I saw the price of a Kobe beef 6 oz. steak. $174. The food list demands she made at the Essex House all the times she and the kids and her entourage that were allowed to eat must be in the 5 figures.

I would go to a regular steak house and order a med. well ribeye anyday! They have a Weber grill restaurant in NYC and the steaks there have to be out of this world. My ex is the best steak griller ever. I would get the family pack of ribeyes that would be on sale, back then 4.99 a pound. They were the best steaks, ever and brats and Italian saugages, hamburgers, chicken legs! I just want to cry when I think back about how good they were, compared to the garbage I have to eat where I am at now.

JMO said...

Who knows? But Kate constantly berated Jon about his weight, so I do think she does not want any of kids to get "fat" in her mind. Never mind her endless salads. This should NOT translate to 8 growing kids.
But food portions do appear to be a matter of power and control to her.

Does she even have a clue of what growing kids need or is she trying to keep their weight down, after her "show off" lunches she sends the kids to school with?

I don't know what goes on at their school but if they're getting some kind of special treatment I can see how that would be frustrating to other families. IF that is happening I'm surprised. I have never encountered a school that treated celeb kids special. Celeb kids I knew have bounced around all kinds of different schools in L.A., public and very elite private, and never got special treatment at any of them. In fact they have been expelled from at least two, gotten in serious trouble at others, and none of the teachers I ever met seemed to care one iota who they were when she handed over a failing mark or wanted to know where their homework was.
When it came time to get the division one scholarship they wanted, it never happened. It didn't matter how much you name dropped, they were interested in grades, behavior, and LASTLY, what you could do on the field.

It was good for them, they needed to learn even as children they are not special. The earlier the better.

Yes agree. I tend to disagree that they should stay in this school. It depends on the kid. I think they will adapt and do fine to any good school, public or private. That's just what kids tend to do. A fresh start with new kids and people who don't know them or their history at the school might be very liberating for some of them. Some of them, especially the boys might even benefit from going to DIFFERENT schools from their other siblings. This is what we did and although I was skeptical at first it was very good for the celeb kids to each sort of have their own school experience. They could each make their own way independent of the shadow of their sibling. And I'm sorry but no school is as good as the tuition this school demands.

I have such a hard time relating to that. The kids are all in school now for long hours. As they get older they will be home less and less. What is she going to do with herself? Everyone needs work, even if it's not traditional work. Things like serving on the PTA, joining a club, volunteering, doing projects for the kids, something. Also living so far away- hard to keep up with friends when there is no time left after school before chores or to drive a distance to meet up. The only time TFW mentions friends, is about picking up the twins, never the tups, after sleepovers, and running out of gas....

I read two tups per class. Who is paired with whom could make a lot of difference to their school experience..

Yes but every school even public usually has a security guard and has every legal right to keep unwanted people off the grounds. Public schools are limited public places. Paps have no right to be their EITHER.

If the LCDS parents see this as special treatment they need to visit a public school that has celeb children. They too keep paps off the grounds. I'm not sure why that would upset anyone. Nobody would want paps at their school and it's not the kids' fault. How disruptive could it possibly have been and when was the last time a pap even tried to get into the school if EVER? MOST paps respect the unwritten rule you leave a child alone at school. Some will follow them TO school or FROM school but at school, no. You'd never be able to find a publication to publish school photos anyway so it's a waste of your time. They hung out at the BUS STOP as far as we know. There have been actual studies that show that Hollywood has a lot of narcissists. And we know these people work hard.

It seems to me there are two sides of the coin to a narcissist. Either you are very, very lazy, or the complete opposite an utter workaholic who will not eat, sleep or pay attention to your children in the name of work. I've never heard of a narcissist having balance in this area.

I believe Kate wrote this when the kids were toddlers, and I get wanting to stay home with so many children.
What I don't get, or really believe, is that Kate wanted to be a SAHM as much as she just didn't want to do nursing work.
As it was, Kate worked part time, not full time.

She and Jon lobbied for a show, and when they got it, Kate's "I'm The Lord's special little snowflake" mentality kicked into high gear.

Yes though it's VERY interesting the way she frames it. Instead of saying I wish I could stay at home with my babies, she says I wish I didn't have to work. Most people when talking about this matter say I just want to be home for my baby.

I think that's very telling. Even from a young age she was using her kids to get what she wanted, which ultimately was to not have to work period, babies or not.

who are ill, or - in the case of labor and delivery - helping bring
new lives into the world. But she's like, nah, not for me, my heart
ain't in it. It's not like she was working at a widget factory slaving
9 - 5 for something that requires no emotional investment, and
wishing she could be home with her babies. Besides, she was
very clear being home a week and then AWAY for a week is what
works best for her family.

But when it comes to a career on TV - cue the angels singing! As
Lukebandit (#43) so eloquently put it, it's all about her, so it's allllll
good! And for the cherry on top of the narcissist sundae, once
she gets on these shows, she gets to talk about herself! Heaven
on earth!

I might actually buy she wanted to be home with the kids if once she quit nursing she didn't do things like leave the kids for days and sometimes even weeks at a time, often when they were still toddlers, to screw around in places like L.A. getting her teeth whitened.

It's not that she wanted to be home with the babies. It's that she did not want to work. She had no problem being away from the babies if it involved pampering or other celebrity things.

No nurse job would usually require you to leave your children for long periods like that. You work in a local medical facility and can see your children every day or at most every other.

Wasn't Kate working every other weekend?
Jon was home all day with the kids, so there was no reason she couldn't work- no child care costs involved.

Jon and Kate are both incredibly blessed that their children are all healthy.
Complaining about glasses for 1/8 children is just ungrateful.

I read a little Radar article on Pam Anderson. Apparently, she and her hubby (remarried 6 months ago) are having troubles and it talks about how supportive her sons are.
Pam is universally respected as a mother, and I'll tell ya, she must really be a good one because her "image" is all sex kitten.
She must be very, very maternal at heart- very hands on and no turning the kids over to nannies.
Her kids, as they grow up, know how much she's been there for them, and they are returning the support.

Bravo, Admin! I can't imagine it either. The Bible says, life is a vapor. So quick. Believe me, ya'll, I do not want anything bad to happen to her. It would devastate the kids. They have had enough pain in their life already, they don't need more. I hope she lives to be 110, but something has to give with all this toxic, evilness this monster has dished out for decades. The hurt, pain, stress, belittling, hitting, slapping, screaming, abuse of the children and animals. It will stop. Don't know when, but it will stop. In a vapor.

They way she has talked about God and how he didn't want her to work is mocking and blasphemy especially at the circus party when she looked up and told God that He owed her a nice day? After the Biblical wind storm. Can't remember.

She couldn't handle what I have been through in the last 13 yrs. or Millicent's or Dmasy's and the other posters here with just medical events alone. Endless abuse at the hospitals and Nhomes that we have suffered. The deaths of loved ones and our pets that have passed over to the rainbow bridge that we have talked about and supported each other with.

I remember the poster, but can't remember her name, she had a bunch of things hit her at one time, including a fire.

But they didn't hesitate to expel two of them after intensive help. The kids don't seem to have a lot of friends- poor attendance to this party and the tea/Lego party- or maybe that's just Kate. Also living so far away- hard to keep up with friends when there is no time left after school before chores or to drive a distance to meet up. The only time TFW mentions friends, is about picking up the twins, never the tups, after sleepovers, and running out of gas....
-------------
Yep, the tups made her rich and famous, but she appears to want nothing to do with establishing friends/activities for them, when this is clearly necessary for their growth beyond filming them.

This could be resolved with 3 girls/3 boys in an easy fashion if she chose to get off her butt and work with other parents on transport for activities, as most parents do. Yet, she does not do so, as SHE wants to leave any and all dates open for filming.

When do these kids' interests/activities come first? Remember, God told her she should not have to work. And she is clearly not working now. What the hell is she waiting for?

OT, if chickens aren't your thing. I wonder if Kate knows this:

"A recent study found that free-range chickens can pose more of a food safety risk than caged chickens. For those who prefer free-range eggs, it may mean you’ll need to change your breakfast menu.
“We recommend that all eggs be fully cooked,” says Nancy Wiker, family and consumer sciences educator at the Penn State Extension Office. “But I am aware that there are many who still like their ‘dippy eggs’ in Lancaster and beyond.”
The USDA Food Safety and Inspection Service defines free-range as poultry that has been allowed access to the outside.
The study, published in Food Control -— the scientific journal of the European Federation of Food Science and Technology — states that eggs from free-range chickens had higher levels of Salmonella (2.6 percent versus zero percent for conventional) and Campylobacter (26.1 percent versus 7.6 percent for conventional).
Salmonella can cause nausea, vomiting, abdominal cramps, diarrhea, fever and headache. Campylobacter can cause infection in the gastrointestinal tract as well as diarrhea, fever and cramps.
“This is not a beat-down on free-range eggs, but people need to recognize the higher risk for eggs from free-range chickens, which are often purchased at farmers markets, farm stands and such,” the study states.

It never really was about not wanting to be away from the kids. In early days, tummy tuck, hair transplant, teeth whitening, whatever made Kate happy.

To be fair, wasn't this when she had 6 2 year olds at home? That was said 6-8 years ago. Don't get me wrong, I am sure she feels that the world owes her a life free from meaningful work. But, I said a lot of things over the years that I wouldn't want to have thrown at me, since I am in considerably different circumstances. When I was home with 3 little kids, I couldn't imagine how life would change once they were in school.

The question always becomes how did other parents of multiples survive just fine, unlike ate, who can not seem to fathom how she can possibly raise *8 count em 8 kids, while living in McMansion, sending her kids to private school, and still does not have a steady job after 10 years, in spite of the fact that she has a nursing degree.

The word dense comes to mind - for ate.

&&&&&&&&&&&

Exactly, admin. As far as I know, nobody saw this as special treatment or was upset because of it. In fact, given that these are celebrity kids, it was (and has been) appreciated that security, as far as the paps go, was tightened and there's been no invasion of privacy on school property.

"The only time TFW mentions friends, is about picking up the twins, never the tups, after sleepovers, and running out of gas...."

I remember a few times when she did mention picking up the younger kids at friends' houses or sleepovers. In fact, there was a time when she was figuring out the logistics of it, what to do when the kids were at a birthday party (how to kill time in the area), and so forth. I think it's good for their security that she doesn't put it out there. No need to publish where they are, that they aren't home, she's alone, the kids are away and so forth. It wouldn't be difficult for some nutcase to track them down.

Right on Luke bandit!... Kate has no idea what struggling is. From day 1 she had financial and hands on support...AND 8 healthy preemies.

What irks me is how she threw her family away because she did not want to share any part if her blessed world...only wanted to use them to enhance it even more. My inlaws were in a car accident on Mother's Day and my mil passed away that night and my FIL spent 2 weeks in ICU and 2 months in the hospital. We didn't have the funeral for over a month because we didn't know if we were burying them both! I will be eternally grateful that the month before she died she met her first great grandchild.,,,my granddaughter. The last photo I have of her is loving on that baby. TFW will be in her 80's, alone, sitting in a dark room with a bird in her shoulder, watching DVDs of her scripted, fake life. I'm sorry...but that is a pathetic life.

Two replies to your posts. One, yes, you're right, I think I recall at least once she said the tups were at a favorite babysitter or best friend's while she was out with the twins? But if she feels free to announce the twins' plans, I don't see her being more discreet about the tups. She has said they are all each other's best friends anyway.

Second, about the uniform, high schoolers are very competitive about brands and designers and I'm not sure they all would make wise decisions or some not feel inferior if they don't have certain brands- Kate said they don't 'do' designers ( ha!) Cara sounded quite entitled when she complained about not getting to go shopping elsewhere when they went to the clearance section for the tups' birthday outfits. They all seem to have Uggs, Abercrombie and some more expensive-end stuff. I always thought a uniform would be a blessing- I know how public school clothing competition goes.

@SandieBellz Absolutely not! She can eat. No stomach issues. Hospice mentality is 2help them leave this world...quicker the better! :(

Not a very nice thing to say about hospice care! Where's the positivity?

I was thinking about Milo. Not to get into armchair psychology here, but...

Milo has tweeted several times about a wife being subservient to her husband. We know that LOM more than likely rules the roost (lights out at 11 p.m.). She's tweeted that they sometimes butt heads over issues, and from her tweets, she seems to back down..

I wonder if her obsession with Kate is that she's trying to live vicariously through Kate. She sees Kate as being a controlling person, not only with her children, but also with Jon. Kate told him how to breathe, corrected his grammar, etc...things Milo might not be able to do in her own home, even though the desire is clearly there.

So Milo takes to Twitter where she sets herself up as the dominant Kate fan, butting in wherever she can, controlling the conversation, pretending to be Kate's "chosen," all actions that she may not be able to do in her own home. It's her outlet, her release, the only way she can be acknowledged and not under the control of someone else.

Just my gut feelings. I think that under that good, go-to-Sunday-meetins southern lady there is another person trying to make an escape. We've seen it in her passive-aggressive tweets. We've seen her go off on Jon, and in a very nasty way. I don't think she has MPD, but rather it's a way of breaking loose from a very rigid, male-in-power household.

Of course, I could be way off base and Milo is really a Catfish, good at what she's doing, but a catfish nevertheless.

The kids are all in school now for long hours. As they get older they will be home less and less. What is she going to do with herself? Everyone needs work, even if it's not traditional work. Things like serving on the PTA, joining a club, volunteering, doing projects for the kids, something. I can't see that she does ANYTHING like that. I don't understand how she's not bored out of her mind.
*******
Couldn't agree more. I am already beginning to deal with empty nest syndrome, in that my son is spending every minute he can this summer with friends, with lots of over nights. He'll be getting his driving license this fall. I see the writing on the wall. With a license and wheels, that kid is going to be spending very few hours at home. Then he'll be off to college. So my once very full schedule (take him to school in the mornings, work til early afternoon, pick him up from sports or after school activities, dinner, homework, etc.) has suddenly opened up and there I am at home, thinking about picking up a new hobby, or otherwise filling my time.

There is plenty I can do at home, but I like the social interaction that work provides and that friends provide. When Kate is at home, with nothing to do once the children are off to school for the day, I think she must sleep a lot and then surf around and try to find stories about herself. Does she do the grocery shopping, the meal preparation, the laundry, etc.? I think she has help for that. So what does she do with herself most days? It has to be very dull.

That's a pretty serious accusation about hospice Milo. They don't want anyone to die and if you're not dying you won't qualify. If you qualify but then get better they'll take you off the program. They're not trying to kill anyone and have helped millions be at peace. Get a grip.

I think much of that has gone by the wayside these days. Abercrombie and designer brands aren't what they were at one time. In fact, kids have discovered that they can find great clothing at consignment shops for a fraction of the cost that they'd pay at the mall. I just don't see this competitiveness too much anymore.

I know this is old news but I was just the story at ROL about the Alaskan publicity shot and how clearly and visibly upset Mady is in the picture.

My mother forced me to go on trips all the time as a kid. She also forced me to go to school, clean my room, and eat my veggies. What a monster.
Dopes.

XXXXXXXXXXXXX • 5 days ago

No kidding. I was "forced" to go on a driving trip out West to see historical sights when I was Mady's age. I wanted to go to Disney World instead. I'm sure there are a few photos of me looking just like Mady. LOL!

Disclaimer: I do NOT like Kate, but some of these stories are just ridiculous.

*********************************************

Hmmmm, let's see now...how is this situation just a teensy bit different from anyone else growing up and forced by their parents to go on trips they may not have wanted to go on?

This was not just some family vacay for fun and adventure. Though we all know Kate LOVES that shit...*eye roll*. Kate was FORCING Mady to WORK!

First, Mady called her father, told him she did not want to go and begged him to do something. Jon tried to intervene and was threatened with the police by Kate.

What kind of mother does that? That's rhetorical of course because Kate is the kind of mother who does that. Still, this has nothing to do with making your bed and eating your freakin' veggies.

Second, and even more glaringly points to Kate's total lack of compassion and empathy, Kate allowed that picture to be taken and used for publicity.

So, there may be pictures of you looking just like Mady (LOL! - Gawd I hate when the sheep use that as a quantifier. Arseholes.).

But I would bet my last twoonie that the photo of you wasn't splashed all over the internet and put on the cover of People Magazine either.

And I don't care whether you do or do NOT like Kate Gosselin. The fact that you can look at that picture, see a child in such distress and justify it is rage inducing.

Reminds me of the saying..."The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is that good men do nothing." - Edmund Burke

My slant on it would be...that stupid people make excuses for it.

I'm finally watching the Special, Part 1- thank goodness it's on DVR because a lot of it is boring.
The boys seem really amazing, and apparently, Kate is taking all that credit.
Once again, she marginalized Jon as if either he doesn't exist, or is a very, very reluctant father to them.
Kate is still saying that she's doing it all, even though she can't be a father to them.

What a coinkidink, that foreshadowing about the cake in the Party Store ;-)
"Would you guys be upset if I messed up the cake and had to buy one?"
OK, now I'm pretty darn sure that Zorro had help flying into the stunt cake.
Kate's affectations are over the top at this point.
The exaggerated facial ticks, the claw hands and darting eyes.
I felt really bad for Colin getting tattled on and then getting disciplined on camera.
That was really uncomfortable to watch. It just should have been private.
One small thing, but maybe not so much, but my 13-year old girl would not be filming wearing a tiny tank top with her bra straps showing.
I'm not a prude, really, that's just not a look that anyone should see on a girl.

I didn't even record Part 2, and that was a good call.

Overall, yes, the kids are growing up nicely, cute kids, but I have to say pretty boring show and a lot of obvious rewriting of history ("I love animals" blah blah).
Actually, too much Kate.

I just thought of something. Didn't ate leave the piano at the E-town house and wasn't it in the relator's pictures?

She has one at the compound because she said, one child, one note at a time. Did she grift another piano????? Did she leave the other one because she already had another lined up? We know she is a professional grifter but was it possible the dr. left his in the house?

It is a crying crying crazy shame that those children are not allowed to play a regular song on that piano. Wonder when ate is gone does the nanny make them do that or does inspector gadget tattle tale when ate gets back?

We had a piano when I was a kid and I played and was just fixing to get into Gospel music and I quit and I have regretted it very badly. I can play Amazing Grace on the black keys only. If I had only sit down and learned the notes without the numbers! Please forgive me, Miss Camp. (southern bell, upper 80's piano teacher). But I did do great at my first recital. My mother said I didn't miss a note! I played To Celia in the red Thompson piano book!

That's what I thought, too, as soon as I heard her say something about 'what if I mess up on your cake.' You knew right then that some catastrophe would befall the homemade cake and TLC woud have to purchase a wonderful, stupendous, beyond your wildest dreams, store bought one.

It would have been soooo much more believable about Zorro flying into the cake if she just hadn't been so stupid as to say anything about messing it up in the party store.

It's so funny how she always foreshadows. As in, 'I've always wanted to be on DWTS', when she's never shown *any* interest in dancing or music whatsoever and isn't in the least athletic.

And sure enough, a few weeks later it's announced she'll be on DWTS.

I had no idea that Ms. Allred was involved. Cool! Thanks Sparkle. And yes, it's a very nice picture but sad when you think about why it was taken.

If anything, Allred would be an ideal attorney when the kids decide to sue TLC and one or both of their parents for selling their childhoods and exposing them to pedophiles.

I don't see any scenario in which she would advocate for TFW.

The way they are posed. Hmmm.

2 together in separate pallets but facing each other. The other one by itself and up a little, like above. Reminds me exactly of the tup girls A and L facing each other and H, the chosen one on a pedestal and separate from the group.

Funny, they boys, which they were all so funny on the couch, C is by himself and J and A are together. Separate, but together.

What an ignorant remark about Hospice Care. I have lost both my brothers (one nearly 20 years ago, and one very recently). When Jon went to ate's to get Mady so she wouldn't have to go to Alaska, ate threatened Jon with the police. Did they even come to the house? As soon as she threatened him, he should of gotten his cell phone out and called the police to come. They would of come. I believe they would have let Mady go with Jon. Especially helpful if it was Jon's weekday or weekend.

I can't imagine the wrath that ate gave Mady after Jon left! In her narc mind, it was a big stunt and no telling how she treated Mady before what is captured on film and what was reported on the trip. I remember those knuckleheads posts that were posted here. It just makes your mouth drop wide open and gasp.

-----

Bingo. I'm not a psychologist, but this makes sense to me. I think that's exactly what Gladys is doing...controlling every situation, butting in where she's not wanted, and she loves to hear herself "talk." It certainly does sound like she doesn't get away with this at home, and twitter has been her platform to do just this.

I don't think the police definitely would have sided with Jon when Mady wanted to stay.
I think the family's obligation to film would take precedence, given what was at stake, like violating their contract.
Not that it's right to obligate the children to work, ever, but Kate won a hell of a lot in court based on the fact that the show was her income, and she could have been penalized horribly if one of the kids totally backed out.
It's not like Mady not going on the fishing trip- this would have meant missing what amounted to 2 HUGE episodes of Kate + 8.
Again, not that it's right.

None of this sounds right. One of my family members recently needed hospice care and the nurses were angels. I've never heard of anyone complain about hospice care. Milo seems oddly detached about this. Did this just come out of the blue? You've nailed it. Her discipline style is to not discipline at all, since discipline means to teach. Instead she barks orders and threats with no explanations, just an iron fist. I'm not cutting that Marie Border Collie lady any slack though. Every time someone has something going on in their life, she does too. Now she has a mother in hospice! Yes we used hospice for my grandmother and we too thought they were saints. They never pressured us or my grandmother. They were available with whatever we needed including a bed and other equipment so she could be at home until the end. In no way did I ever feel like they were just doing a job or trying to speed us through. They also encouraged us to share stories of grandma and say goodbyes in ways that were comfortable for us and for that I am grateful especially since those emotions can be hard to face. No regrets at all.

I am guessing that the staff at the hospice politely asked her to shut up. She was probably waking her dear mother up every time she closed her eyes. I can see where Gladys would be an annoying relative to deal with in this situation.

Key words being growing kids. Because they are still growing wouldn't it be better to go to an actual shoe store where they can get their feet measured and buy properly fitted shoes? Especially sneakers because different brands fit differently. And finally, why would there be any discussion as to who would get which pair because I'd assume that you'd order 6 different sizes to fit 6 individual pairs of feet.

First of all I hate malls and crowded stores and every store where I live is crowded all the time including the parking lots. Many you have to PAY to park! (I love going home where I grow up and actually having some space in stores and lots). And every place I order offers completely free returns, you just stick the sticker on and send it back if it doesn't fit and they send you the next size, no fuss.

I've had great success ordering Toms, Hunters, Wicked Good slippers and Sketchers all online and seamless returns if need be.

Ice skating- seems the tups had not strapped on a pair of ice skates since the were 3.
Can't imagine the ribbing for needing traffic cones to freaking skate- every one of them.
Sad.
The eyeglasses- kid had to deal with duct tape until filming paid for it- again, closed the place down.
We know that the stores were closed down for Kate's party shopping, too.

WTF??

At least *try* to make this family look like they're doing normal things in normal world.

Wow, this is death by 1000 paper cuts.

&&&

Wow, she used it in the most derogatory and offensive way possible.

It's one thing to have an adult debate about whether it is still an appropriate term to use to describe those with special needs, as we did here some time back. Even PW had a post inviting such discussion, as her brother has special needs. It's quite another to use it as a sword when you're trying to call someone perfectly capable "stupid."

I just read in the comments a typical M.O. accusing this blog of using the R word "all the time." Oh for the love of pete.

No. What was said that for those of us who work with doctors and other medical professionals, they are still using it in medical documents. In fact I just saw it the other week. We were talking about whether it was still appropriate to use to describe diagnosed special needs, and making the point that it's still being used. As for using the word all the time, the word I use all the time is special needs as no one seems to take offense to it and it covers many things.

No one said they ever use the word to call other people NAMES. That's completely different and that's what Kate did, used it to call someone a name. I assume the members of her group don't actually have special needs. If Kate were using it to describe Sarah Palin's boy and was being respectful, I'd give her a pass. That's not what she was doing at all.

@Kateplusmy8: Ordered 6 pairs of sneakers online for back to school (already!) I love hearing my growing kids discuss who wants which pair! Now2bed.. #Fun
---------------------------------

Another "thrilling" day in the life of Kate Gosselin. So much news for her tweeties to digest. Will they be able to contain excitement?

She said she bought 6 pairs of sneakers, but she has 8, count em, 8 kids. Which 2 didn't get any? Is this a set up for the tweeties to play "who got the sneakers?".

Glad to hear that her kids are growing instead of shrinking. I was worried about that. More exciting news!! They will be going back to school! I'm shrieking and squealing at the thought!

Aw, poor Kate found online shopping so exhaustingish that she went to bed. Doing such #Fun things must really wear a person out.

Even the doctors and nurses were too stupid to help Katie and allow her to diagnose and order treatment for her children.
In fact, the entire medical community in the Berks region is too dumb for words.

Ugh!! Why was Katie born in PA- she belongs where smart people live and practice!!

At least at the time, everyone was an annoying bug to be swatted away.

Kate used "retarded" as an epithet.

I do like how ROL included the following PSA in their article about Kate:

"And while the Special Olympics declined to comment directly on Kate’s use of the word, they issued the following general statement to Radar:

“We’re always saddened and disappointed when we hear people using the R-word,” Christy White, Director of Global Media and Public Relations at the Special Olympics, told Radar.

“We encourage people to go to R-word.org and take the pledge. It’s important because it’s respect toward everyone.”

There are people who want to swifter it from the English language all together even in a medical context. That is open to adult debate.

However when we're talking about using it in a derogatory way, to call someone a name that is so cruel, I'm not sure there is any debate that we shouldn't use it to call others names. Where is the debate there? Name calling is cruel and to invoke a mental disability many people suffer from when doing so is even crueler.

Strike that, the debate is among the six sheeple posting on that article that that didn't take ANY offense whatsoever to Shmoopy calling others that name. Well I'm glad it didn't offend you but don't be so obtuse.

I don't recall anyone here calling anyone retarded. If this were true, the person doing the name-calling would have been jumped on by other posters. The word was discussed before, but there was no name-calling, neither Kate nor posters were called retarded, and the word isn't used here as defamatory. I agree that the sheeple have been called dumb and stupid, but that's a horse of a different color...because it's applicable and it's calling a spade a spade. Maybe the sheeple are commenting that the word "retarded" is being used here all the time, confusing it with "stupid," because, well...

This analysis of Milo is the best explanation of her behavior I've read anywhere. Kudos to you for helping make sense of someone who is so utterly baffling.

And in regards to Milo's comments about hospice, I can envision the unstated exchange going something like this :

Hospice: Now Mrs. Milo, be sure not to bring in any sweets for your Mom. With diabetes, the sugar can be bad for her.

Milo: I can't deny my mom food! She insists on it.

Hospice: But giving in can kill her!!

Milo: She has the right to have what she wants. Don't try to tell me what to do!

(Disclaimer - I have no idea what her mom's health issues are. This was just used as an example)

That's because no one ever did. What started the conversation was my fear that my dad who has dementia would be called that. We then had an adult conversation about that word. It was CONCERN that a loved one might be made fun of by cruel and nasty people like Kate who do things like that, that sparked the whole thing. I would never publish a comment calling anyone here or other people a name so cruel.

I think they deliberately mischaracterize things all the time in an effort to deflect from the fair points made about Kate.

In any case, I don't care if the whole world is calling the whole world by that name. It does not excuse Kate from doing so, so what does it have to do with anything what happens here?

Formerly Duped said...

Yes,it was Leah who has a lot to say. She also tattled on Alexis for pushing in the party store to Kate.

Kate also suggested to Collin he could say "I don't prefer your hair that way." What an awkward sentence plus not much of a compliment. It really was a brother-sister remark and not worthy of such a scolding. And Leah should have been talked to as well if Kate had to scold Collin.

Agree, very good analysis.

I do agree that there must be something going on in her life where she does not have power or control. Perhaps she has no power or control over anything in her life. She then uses Kate and the situation with the fans and non fans to take on a role of leadership and perceived power she has been unable to grasp in real life. When Kate responds to her it only encourages this dysfunctional behavior. It is remarkable to me Kate can't see the dysfunction here and won't run away as fast as her twig legs will take her.

When I think of it that way I almost feel bad for Milo. I picture a husband, kids, family and friends constantly irritated by someone like her. But then she brings it on herself and never learns even when people try to very clearly point out to her what's so darn annoying. At a certain point it becomes your responsibility to accept it and change it. Instead she constantly plays the little ole me card, what did I do this time? It's very obnoxious and I don't buy it anymore.

I am shocked, too.
However, I hope that Radar gets to what I consider the real heart of the issue, and that is Kate's (and Jon for a time) fleecing, Kate's very severe corporal punishment of her little toddlers (who were premies, for God's sake!), and the continual alienation of the father of her children.

Although deplorable, "slanty eyes", using the "R" word and selling free clothing pales in comparison to child abuse and fraud.

Correct. And when we realized they had special needs, people backed off. If someone late to the party posts them someone else will inform them and then they too back off.

It was Leah that's right. She tattled on Collin immediately, while playing on her iPad. It wasn't even a second thought or a warning. Like do that again and I'm telling. It was an immediate jump to turn him in. It was sad.

They have learned to be snitches and rats and to revel in another sibling getting what is coming to them, and it will not serve their relationship with their siblings well. Nor any relationship. It's very unhealthy. There is a fine line between reporting information that is seriously concerning or could hurt someone, and ratting everybody out because it's fun. There's sibling rivalry, and then there's sibling trauma. And this is the sort of stuff that might be hard to get over even into adulthood.

the "flow" of our conversation from TFW's bad behavior. So this
regular poster would simply post a particularly bad quote from TFW's
journal, as if to say, let's remember WHO we're talking about, and
WHAT she's done, and WHY we're here commenting in the first
place.

I hope that made more sense, and I sincerely hope that poster didn't

Leah got a big pay off from that one.
Kate just wouldn't let it go- like a dog with a bone.

Then again, I think Kate was in performance mode and looked very aware of herself and her every move on camera.
She was generally stiff and uncomfortable and the interaction with the off-camera guy in the morning, over breakfast prep, was so stilted.

You know what it reminded me of? Jodi's sister's blog, "Truth Breeds Hatred", which is long defunct.
What Jodi's sister brought to light, very early, was that what you see on J+K+8 is generally damage control in response to the overwhelming amount of criticism towards Kate.

To wit-
Look, our pets are so loved and taken care of! I love pets!
I guess I was too busy to remember I loved pets before!
(carefully place Shoka's photo behind Kate)

Look at my 70 bushels of organic kale! I'm such a great cook.
Oh, and watch my kids eat ice cream!

And on and on and on.

Waaaay OT. Contrast my day with the excitement of Kate buying shoes for the kids.

Arrived at work this morning and there are two homeland security vehicles with armed police and a bomb sniffing dog in the parking lot. Where I work the organization is putting on a major event for the next few days so there is tight security and media coverage from the networks. The event is being held a half a block from where I work. This means my workdays will be filled going through security each time I enter/leave the building. The good thing is my staff and I have completed active shooter training. We know what to do in a difficult situation. I truly expect everyone will be safe throughout the event.

Now returning to Kate's exciting world of buying shoes online.

I agree! When Radar would run glowing articles about Kate, while also simultaneously slamming Jon, the sheeple were ecstatic!! They even became buddies with that Perel guy who no longer works there. Radar was top shelf, 100% true journalism to them. Now the tables are turned. They are maintaining that there is nothing Kate could do to sway their support of her. They don't care what Radar or other outlets report.

Here's what they should care about and consider. Kate is a public figure who previously made a lucrative living on television. Kate lets us know every time she gets a chance that she has to be back on tv and have a show so she can feed her kid's mouths (lol) This book came out, it's selling briskly and getting a lot of attention. Their claims that Kate is not going to sue because she doesn't want to waste money is pure, unadulterated BS. If Kate was innocent, suing Robert and winning would be priceless for the publicity it would provide. If she would win and never collect a cent from Robert, the restoration of her reputation and name would again be priceless in the court of public opinion. A court win might even open up new job opportunities for her. So why doesn't she sue Robert, Radar and the others? Jon makes a comment in an article and she can't run to "set the record straight" fast enough. For this shocking 708 pg. book she says nothing, doesn't want to "waste money" clearing her name? I agree with the doesn't want to waste money part, she doesn't want to waste money filing a lawsuit she cannot win.
