Absolutely, and I guess that TLC found that out the hard way. It must have been mentally draining to work with TFW. They put up with it as long as they could. In addition, CC must have found it draining, as did Tony. I'm sure they all have stories to tell about their experiences with her that would come as no surprise, really.

Exactly as predicted really. With the younger fans I think most of them will get older, head off to college, get boyfriends and other new friends and suddenly outgrow their obsession, never to be heard from again. Teen fans are different than these older freaks. Celebrity obsession is common and dare I say sort of normal.

There is documentation on the Berks County website showing that the original $720,000 mortgage was paid off (satisfied) on 12/6/11 and recorded 12/15/11.
When she refinanced it was done in her own name, not the name of the trust. If you check the Berks website you'll see separate records for the satisfied mortgage in the trust name and the new refinanced mortgage in her name.
I don't recall the original mortgage interest rate, but it was quite high. She may have borrowed more than she owed when she refinanced, but not that much plus it's something that many people do when refinancing. Either way, it seems that maintaining her lifestyle is burning through the money the KIDS earned, but I still contend that she has plenty.

If you check amortization tables for the original 10-yr loan, she would have owed about $500K after 3 years. She tok out a $662K mortgage. And, when she took the loan out in 2011, she had removed the name of the lawyer in charge of the kids' trust before she did that. There was no record of the original loan being paid off (the original loan was included in the kids' trust). So, it is quite possible that she took out that $662 mortgage in her name, without paying off the mortgage held by the trust

Are you saying that the house has a combined mortgage of $1.3 million+? And that TFW committed some kind of scam by not paying off the first mortgage? We have never had enough information to definitely determine all of the terms of the loan, to know whether she took out some of her equity in the house or not. She, like many others, took advantage of historically low mortgage rates. I agree with Suze and Paper Plates that she is pretty well-off and has been a decent custodian and manager of money. Given the caliber of her legal team, I am sure she had good financial advice. Time will tell if the kids' money was safeguarded or not. There is no point in making assumptions and sweeping proclamations based on pure speculation.
Mortgages are recorded against property--not possible to receive a double mortgage. If it was a second mortgage, the property would have risen in value dramatically--in 2008, values were plummeting.

Re: Kate's wealth - I said several years ago that if he invested her money wisely, she could live off the interest very nicely especially if she downsized in some areas.
I think Kate is using the money in the kids trust accounts to pay for their schooling and expenses. She probably also takes her yearly expenses (mortgage, food, utilities) and divides it by 9 and charges the kids for their share. Mind, this is just speculation, but I wouldn't put it past her.
In the end, I suspect one or more of the kids will write a tell all when they're in their 20's and then we will know the kids' perspectives.
The smartest thing she could have done is pay off the house, period. No more monthly payments, no more interest payments, no worrying if you can make either - just pay the taxes each year and call it good. If she did downsize, she could then turn around and buy a more manageable property for cash money when the house sold.
She said 'mine all mine' but it's really 'the bank's all the bank's.' Yes, most people have mortgages, but smart people tend to not want to pay thousands upon thousands in interest each year, on TOP of taxes, if they can help it. Another reason, IMO, that she does not have endless funds.
Also (cul de sac here), is there any verification that is indeed the Roloff kid above? It could be anyone pretending to be him.

The documentation is online with all the loan terms, etc, but you have to set up an account using a screen-name and password to see it - very easy. Once on the site you search using the trust name and/or TFW's along with dates and voila - all the info from the deed to mortgage to tax credit. ;-)

That was my first question about it so I went to the main Roloff blog which is the equivalent of RTV for the Roloffs! :) Apparently Jacob's account is indeed real, I guess he verified it on his official twitter account. I mentioned nine months ago close family friends sent their 17 year old to an in patient drug/boot camp thing. It's now nine months of that. My heart breaks for him and I really fear for him when he doesn't have to answer to his parents anymore. He is only a few months shy of 18 now. It was not supposed to last that long, but it's where he needs to be. I guess dealing with that, Jacob's issues look like a walk in the park.
Wow, if that is him, his parents need to sit up and take notice. That is ridiculous. It looks like in Jacob's case, he apparently no longer has to answer to his parents.

I forgot to mention in the earlier post that I know Kate can claim her mortgage interest on her taxes, but wouldn't she rather be earning interest on the money she's not paying in interest instead? She has 8 little deductions already!
I think my struggles with understanding how they are maintaining this lifestyle stem from how TFW is. With almost EVERYTHING she lives in the moment. And I really am not convinced she's all that bright. I can't picture her having that good of an understanding of compounding interest and everything else that goes into setting yourself up for life. She seems like a money in the piggy bank under your bed kind of gal. She doesn't seem the type to sit down with some stuffy financial planner and make sure she has enough socked away to finance her lifestyle for all time to come. To believe this is the case means she is doing something inconsistent with her personality and intelligence.
I will admit to be surprised they have stayed in this house for two years after the show has been done. That said, it's only two years. In the financial world that's nothing. Two years is impressive, but five years, 10 years, and 15 years will really demonstrate whether the money was saved properly or not. The bubble may burst at any moment and unexpectedly. I just hope there is something left for the children when they are 18. It's still a long ways away.

Suze, thank you for that info! The removal of the lawyer for the kids' trust and the new mortgage were all well documented, but I never saw anything that showed the payoff of the first mortgage. Still, if she paid off the first mortgage in Dec 2011, why borrow more money in Jan. 2012? Something's up here. Did she use money from the kids' trust to pay off the first mortgage and then borrow money against it in her name? If she had the money herself to pay it off in Dec 2011, then there was a reason she needed that money on Jan 2012. If the money was there in Dec to pay it off, why did she need the money back a month later? Either way, this does not look good for the kids' future if it is in fact "their house". Either way, she is borrowing money agains an asset that was supposed to be theirs.
I really do pray that she is being careful about the kids' money and their futures. They worked so hard, and they deserve the opportunity to go to college and build successful careers. Let's hope she keeps that in mind.
Am I the only one who thinks that account isn't that bad? Maybe I know too many teenagers. He doesn't answer most questions or gives smart-alleck answers that don't make sense, and he hints at sex and pot but if you read his ex girlfriend's account she suggests they only had sex a few times and he only smoked pot a few times. I hate to say it, but it's pot, not meth. Watch CNN's documentary on it, even Dr. Sanjay Gupta admits it's not nearly as bad of a drug as they used to tell us. Obviously it would be nice if he waited on sex but it's not like he's the first teen to have premature sex and it doesn't mean you're destined for hard jail time.
You know what he sounds like to me, A teenager who idolizes his significantly older brother and is trying desperately to be cool to fit in and who has an audience which is giving him its own little "high". But who deep down is just a normal kid. Even his ex-girlfriend who seems REALLY nice admits he's a sweet kid overall.
The problem I see is more all the people who are watching this. Teenage angst should really be between the parents and close family and friends, at most. Not all the Little People Big World fans. It worries me whether he will get more and more outrageous just to get bigger and better reactions from the fans.
Also this is all mostly stuff he is saying. He could be exaggerating and "puffing up" for attention and shock value. For all we know, he's never even done pot or had sex, but loves the shock and attention he gets for saying so.

Good point - how or why was a mortgage paid off in one month and reissued the next month? Unless the second one was to pay off the first (and remove the attorney) and it took a while for the paperwork to catch up. Which is probably very possible.

Interest on any investment isn't what it was. Most of us took a bath in the stock market. I don't care what you invested in. My investments are just now struggling back to what they were.

Admin, I agree with you on two points. One, I didn't think Jacob Roloff's account was too bad, possible bravado. I have heard various rumors about him, such as being expelled (sound familiar?) but nothing else verified. He was always portrayed as the neglected troublemaker.I recall one scene where he smashed hundreds of dollars' worth of light-bulbs in the barn and was let off with little punishment.So many scenes were staged, such as Jeremy going to college,holidays and the birthdays etc. Like K+8.
Second, I agree Milo's life seems very contrived and not quite in synch with what she tweets. The leaving off 'g's' then putting them in, the Katie Irene dog, the strange LOM, the teen who plays with toys...she sounds to me like a lonely person who lives alone or possibly in a facility where there is indeed a Lights Out curfew.

Formely duped agree. Imagine a teenage boy who just wants to be king of the castle, top dog, cool. This is so important to many teens. And Jacob was the baby and had to deal with a very cool and popular big brother in Jeremy, always in his shadow, and a very dominate father and then of course life in the public eye. Not to mention a very unique family with three people who are short stature. That's not an easy thing to be a "normal" child in that situation. Much like hearing children born into deaf families--it's tough.
Now imagine he has hundreds, maybe even thousands of fans hanging onto everything he says, and two parents that apparently just can't control him anymore. This is not a good time in a teen's brain development to have a captive audience like that.
An example of Jacob puffing up is saying he's not going to college. Okay, maybe he won't. But I have a funny feeling he's just saying whatever outrageous thing for the sake of seeing people gasp and blame his parents, which they did. I bet he will go to college at some point. You can't possibly know at 16 years old you will never do that. That's silly. But it got people worked up.
Bottom line, Jacob has clearly felt the effects of reality t.v. and fame the most. He is probably one of the FIRST reality T.V. kids who has now grown up after being very exposed. His show was not one or two seasons, it was a decade of filming. All I can say is thank goodness the Gosselin kids aren't on camera now, may it stay that way and maybe they'll have a good chance.

I remember a few of them: "the kids who live here", the plastic dump truck belonging to a supposed 18-year-old, mentioning how the "teen" brother and sister go for walks with her and play Frisbee together. That's another "little thing" that is off about her. She is all about exposing the Gosselin kids but so values the privacy of her own family? That makes no sense. Someone who values that so highly would understand why what is going on here is WRONG. Her kids aren't even little. Unless her own family doesn't exist but she uses the privacy as an excuse not to have to make up a bunch of stories that don't ring true about non-existent people.
She also said that her son would be moving out end of July. I remember it vividly because we were snarking about how he probably couldn't wait to get out of there. And also because I and some others thought it was odd. As much as kids are itching to leave at that age, it's your last summer before college with your high school friends. All most kids are doing is working and hanging out with HS friends. That summer is like no other summer a kid ever experiences, everyone about to start their adult lives. Few kids are eager to cut off all ties just like that as much as they may act like the tough guy. It's a HUGE transition. And, as soon as they go look at apartments they realize, oh crap rent is HIGH! And there goes that fantasy. They're still living at home for the summer until college starts.
Now she claims he's suddenly off to school? Is he HOME? Inconsistent stories happen when you make things up.
I think that guy could be just her roommate in her extended care. The walls looks institutional to me, not like a house. And there is no variation EVER to this lights out time? Most people as much as they may have a time they'd like to "get to bed" we all know often that doesn't happen! On any given day depending on what's going on I may AIM for 10:30 but might not actually get there until 11 or 12. But a facility would have a strict bedtime (lights out) without exception ever. The tonka truck could have belonged to a child visitor to see their grandma.

Admin, I can't see my post that you're responding to, but I agree with everything you've said. She (she?) doesn't talk about anything in a normal way. Never says she cooked this-or-that for dinner, never speaks of her "kids", only "the teens" - it's all very strange. Nothing that resonates even a little bit with those of us who are actually female, actually wives, or actually mothers. She seems to have dropped her bad-ass, business trip-taking, independent, go-to-bed when she wants, incarnation. Now back to the old lights-out-man, Sunday go to meetin', backwoods version. You got that right! All kidding aside, this woman has some serious mental issues going on. I almost feel sorry for her. Why would anyone tweet a photo of Barbie and compare herself to a doll? Does she just think -- oh, I must tweet this and get praises from my fans? As for the Barbie, we have to remember that TFW has spent a ton of money on plastic surgery, hair bleaching and extensions, tanning, nails, good bras, ugly heals, and hooker clothes in order to look like Barbie. That toy truck really raised the red flags for me. The kid couldn't have played with it for what, maybe 10 years or so? A metal truck left outside in the elements for that long never would have looked like that. Something was very fishy about that whole thing. Didn't she tweet that she just stumbled across it? Yeah, right...no mud on it, no rust, it was just sitting there like it was placed for the photo.

I don't see any evidence that she borrowed money in Jan 2012. The new mortgage was taken out 11/30/11, not in Jan '12.
IF she took out a personal loan there is no way to verify it and I don't know how anyone would know about it anyway if it wasn't connected to the mortgage and there's no evidence of that happening.
It takes time for deeds and mortgages to be entered into the records. Only a few days were actually between the date of the satisfied original mortgage and the recording of the 2nd one. She simply re-financed the original mortgage; ie, paid off the 1st and now has a new one with a new interest rate and terms. The original mortgage came due 10/2018 and she had to refinance anyway. She made a smart decision to do it when the interest rates were so low in '11.
I personally don't see anything questionable about what she did, nor about any significant monies being financed above what was owed on the house. As Admin said, perhaps she used some of the money to finance the crookbook and/or the new BBB.
Whatever it is she's doing, IMO, she's using money the KIDS earned. I think even the interest from the money the kids made should go to them when they reach the age of majority, but I think we all know that's never going to happen.
That brings us back to the crux of the matter which is that parents are supposed to be earning the money and supporting the family, not the other way around. I don't think that TFW has earned enough on her own to come anywhere near what is needed to support the family and she's either using the interest on their money or she's already dipped into the principal.

Re: Lights out. I agree about some kind of a facility. The nursing homes I know of - and I've visited my share of them - have lights out
about 9:00 pm. But the individual residents can have their own reading light on in bed as long as they don't disturb their roommate. Rehab facilities have the same deal, at least in my own experience. Hospitals allow you to keep lights on all night if you want them, and you can pull the curtain to not bother roomies. Now in a penal institution, the lights go out and that's that. No lights in any of the individual bunks. Period. Thankfully I only know that from internet reading, not from personal experience. In a military barracks I'm guessing it's straight lights out at a set specific time too.
The delivery of vanilla ice cream before bed makes me think of a rehab facility, nursing home or hospital. They often offer a light snack before bed.
Suze-- thanks for your response. I was saying that it wasn't a credible speculation that she managed to take out 2 mortgages on the same house unless it had, unlike every single other house, risen dramatically in value.
As far as the lapse of the month between the payoff and the new loan, the only scenarios that makes sense to me is that she paid off the loan from her own funds, or, had a short-term private loan arrangement until the new loan started. Or, possibly they are recording dates, and not transactional dates? My bet is that if the loan was actually repaid, and a month lapsed before the new one started, she used her own money. Based on Jon's comment that she has a big pile of it.
Anyway, maybe Milo's son is going off to school to major in TFMJG history.

Since she has sent so much time and money trying to achieve the plasticized look of a teenage doll, I can see where TFW the narcissist would be pleased to have a child compare her to Barbie. Why weren't the cops called? In many states you can be arrested for that. Why wasn't a rescue called or animal control? You just pull up to a gas station and happen to witness this? No one else was around and took charge so it's up to you to just take it home I guess? What exactly were you going to do otherwise, just leave it?
This is a perfect example of one of Milo's stories that is missing a lot of important details or doesn't quite make sense or ring true. It may be perfectly true, but the way it's told leaves lots of holes.

Apparently during the first surgery, the screw they put in his ankle was too large and they found this out because he has been complaining about pain ever since surgery. He had it removed yesterday, and therefore, is incapacitated once again. She was complaining about being on urinal call, or something like that.

Well for goodness sake. MsGoody said something useful and insulted Kate in the process. Two for two. Of course the kids may and even probably are hiding their apps. I simply don't believe the twins are perfect little ladies on their phones. Especially with all the iphonogrpahy Mady is doing. She will be itching to share it with her friends on instagram or similar apps. That article says you can hide apps IN THE PHONE just with the general settings! How simple. Even EASIER than I thought. There are lots of other apps out there to help you hide things even better. No way would Kate ever figure that out. I believe that picture was taken right after the operation. According to Milo he went home after that. He hasn't been hospitalized for 196 days. She said the screw was too long and was irritatin' another bone and hadn't healed.

Admin, Gladys says that he is home from the hospital. She tweeted that she asked to see the "long" screw and docs refused, possibly because they thought they'd be sued. I guess his ankle wasn't healing and he was in a lot of pain. She thought he was being a big baby, but when they took xrays, they found that the screw they used was too long and it was digging into the bone or cartilage...can't remember which.
The whole Milo thing fascinates me. I'd never heard of celebrity worship syndrome before reading here and it's so STRANGE.
Milo commented that her dad passed away at...89? 85? I can't remember exactly. That happened several years ago but Milo gave his age not too long ago. Milo alluded to her mom being a similar age.
I also am under the impression Milo is early 50s. (LOM on motorcycle looked about that age, too.) So I figure Milo's mom is about 90, Milo is about 52, and her daughter is 14. The moms here are on the old side but not impossible.

OT, but Hannah Anderson, the 16-year-old girl kidnapped in Idaho, has been found, is safe but the man who kidnapped her is dead. I have been praying for her and for her father. Mother and brother killed, and Hannah kidnapped by a family friend. It's hard to understand how such horrible things can happen, but thank heavens she still has her father and he still has her.

I didn't say getting kicked out of school is normal. I said teen angst is normal. Just because it doesn't manifest itself in getting kicked out of school doesn't mean you aren't having issues. It has to be said though he goes to a private school which may very likely kick children out more aggressively. Which is exactly what happened to my dear friend. A relatively minor infraction that didn't even occur on school property sent him packing. Had he been at a public school he probably would have only been given a strike for what he did and would still be there now. That may be the case with Jacob. I'm not sure this should be talked about too much more other than to say it's a sad situation and hopefully he will make it through.
Hmmm, my original post about Hannah Anderson's rescue didn't show up. She is a 16-year-old girl kidnapped from CA by a family friend, her mother and brother killed, and her home set on fire by this monster. She has been rescued alive and her kidnapper is dead. It is such a relief to know that she is okay and that she still has a living family member (her father) waiting for her. It's terrifying to know that thee are people out there who are capable of committing such horrible acts.

I'd say there may be a perfect storm brewing.

When our Himmy was a kitten, the hair still wasn't long (kitten fuzz), and she didn't have a flat face like a Persian, but boy, does she ever have long hair now (grooming nightmare), and her face still isn't flat! That was another red flag. She had the opportunity to go on a cruise with Kate that was within traveling distance. She could have met Kate at churches, speaking engagements, signings, whatever, and yet she didn't -- always some excuse. An obsessive fan would give their right arm to be able to meet their idol. That's not the way I remember it. The shoes were sneakers and most sneakers look unisex to me. They were a bluish/grey color. I also don't remember seeing the whole arm, just the hand holding a caterpillar on a stick. The hand had very short nails and didn't particularly look mannish to me. To me it looked like either a woman's or a teens hand, not a mans. That particular photo stayed up in her photos section on twitter for quite a while. If there was another shot she tweeted, then she tweeted two pictures and deleted one and I missed it. But as I recall it, I happened to see the tweet and picture right as she tweeted.

That makes sense. My baby is 15 years old and doesn't have the flat face. I took a look at the "new" ones, and mine is definitely prettier with the non-Persian face! We also have a Fold with a very flat face. One of the kids says that he always looks angry, but he's as sweet as can be!

I know, totally off topic, but still wanted to add my 2 cents. Pot is not bad - it's not a gateway drug. In fact, marijuana can actually be truly beneficial, as in cases of people with nausea from various illnesses. I had a friend in high school with leukemia (of which she died very young). She couldn't keep any food down. Her father bought pot for her, to ease her pain and make her life less miserable. This is why I think it should not be persecuted! People truly need it at times and making them criminals to get it is just plain wrong (and heartless, sinful).
If booze is legal for those over 21, there is no reason why pot should not also be legal. In fact, alcohol does more damage to our society than pot ever has or ever will. Yet booze is legal, as long as you are over 21. But there is huge money involved in the prosecution and prison industry re marijuana and that's why they don't want it legalized.
My brother is battling colon cancer, has no appetite, can't keep food down. I suggested he seek medical marijuana but his doctor doesn't want him to go that way, because he's been brain-washed to believe it's a bad drug. How can we allow tobacco cigarettes that cause cancer, but we won't allow sick people access to marijuana? It does not make a lick of sense. To make people suffer needlessly?
I am so passionate about this issue (as you can probably tell).
If pot is legalized, will some abuse it? Yes, of course they will, just as some abuse their legal access to alcohol. But most of us don't. I can buy beer, wine or hard liquor at any time I choose. But I only drink occasionally, and even then it's usually one glass of wine, or one beer. I'm not running wild and getting drunk. Nor would I get high and behave irresponsibly if pot was legal. I'd be the same, responsible citizen I am today. Common sense should prevail.

It is really sick to rationalize that children's incomes go to support the family's costs. Parents provide for kids, not the other way around. Any money earned by a child WILLINGLY working in a protected manner should be socked away for the child when they are 18.

They look like Siamese with the points, but they have medium length, thick hair. Their faces are nothing like Persians but have more of a Siamese shaped face. I had a Ragdoll. They got their name because when you pick them up they become limp.

Fidosmommy -- I don't think the kitten is a Ragdoll. It really doesn't have the boning or structure of a Ragdoll. I don't think the kitten is a longhair at all, I think it's just fuzzy kitten coat. It could possibly be a Javanese or Balinese (essentially, long-haired Siamese), but the tail isn't plumey, they way they are. My closest friend in the Cat Fancy is a Siamese breeder, so I've seen a lot of Siamese kittens. I could be wrong, though. It's definitely an Oriental body type. My money is on a pointed random bred kitten or a Siamese.

Imagine the negative publicity for her if this ever came out, that she is the object of a gay woman's affections? Wouldn't you think, Admin, that she has been checked out by a security team? I would certainly hope that there are names on a list and if Kate still has someone in charge of security that they would have alerted her to this?

Who knows. If the security team cleared it I don't think much of them. Or she doesn't listen if they had concerns. I can see her saying whatever whatever it's fine.
Any security team worth their salt would recognize something is off about some of these fans and best to avoid them. But maybe they didn't even vet anyone. Unless you're a really big celeb, usually it's up to you to use good judgment online just like the rest of us.
Thank you Admin.....that was exactly my point and my "theory" was just that...a theory...that TFW probably has NO idea herself what or who Milo is except what Milo has tried to portray herself as. I totally think TFW has and is being catfished by Milo and that TFW has never met her/him and has never seen a real picture either.

I don't care what she is either, but someone is really "off" -- it could be catfishing, it could be something worse than Celebrity Worship. Nobody gets this involved in another person's every move, inserting themselves into a family like they belonged there. A normal person doesn't play the 20-question game on a daily basis, putting Gladys Kravitz to shame. I still think that there is a reason that she didn't meet Kate when she's had so many opportunities and I don't think it was because of distance involved or lack of funds. If she's in the deep south as she says, that cruise took off from Lauderdale and yet she never signed up, and I don't believe it was because of her health. Things just don't add up.

Actually corporations are public record and the public's business. We all have an interest in transparency from those taking our money. Especially ones that use minors to make money. A matter of public concern. So, yes.
Remember circa the cruise when Milo asked TFW how she pictured her?
That is just a bizarre thing to ask. Who cares how someone pictures you especially some D lister celeb? And how come you haven't sent her pics before?
My best guess is that she is perhaps elderly and feeble and was concerned that maybe TFW wouldn't like her if she saw her on the cruise. She wanted reassurance Kate would love her no matter what. As I recall,TFW has in fact told Milo she loves her.
Naturally TFW never responded to that one. Which may have scared Milo off from going on that cruise.
I think Milo doesn't want to risk that Kate would stop talking to her if she ever actually met her. The status quo is better than the risk TFW might go away if she doesn't like her. It's not worth the risk of messing with a good thing. Speaks to a very vulnerable and insecure woman if she is truly that petrified and insecure to meet someone.

So what's the "emergency"? That Kate is about to be exposed? That TT (who seems evil to me IMO) is the one who sent it to Perel. It was tweeted by a hater who said they saw it here. The sheep are the ones blowing it into the open. Or do they think it's fake or not Kate and everyone will be exposed for a big conspiracy? I don't get it.
I don't know what they are all up in arms about either.
It's not exactly a secret that Kate makes her children fund her lifestyle. It's not a conspiracy. She does it straight out in the open!
