A bad year. For Kate anyway.

Much like last year when Kate made some "worst of" lists, on one of them even being compared to Gadhafi, she's popping up again on 2012 lists.

Time Magazine put her in their "bad year" category opposite Kate Middleton in the good year column, blasting Kate for being fired from Coupon Cabin. Ha.

BUT she is being compared to Kate Middleton wife of the future king of England and that, in her mind, makes her relevant. It doesn't matter that everyone else sees her as a fool, she sees herself as reality tv royalty and it's fitting that she be compared to real royalty. I don't know what it will take to make her finally face the fact that she's an also ran now.

Merry Christmas to those of you signing off to travel for the holidays. Safe journeys to all.

Don't think Kate Gosselin is being compared to Kate Middleton, at least I hope Time magazine didn't mean to do that. Just think they're showing how LOW "a kate" is. Kate has been tweeting all day; hope she was bored and NOT tweeting all day because children were on their own in basement.

I can hear it in my thoughts now:

"Ummmm...like honestly? I don't have time for people who hate me, because honestly...(chomp, chomp, chomp) y'know I'm me and my group of friends know me, so like ummm...I do for my kids...I'm waiting for something better to come along so it's...y'know."

Code for: I know you all think I suck but at least you're still talking about me so there (sticking tongue out).

She won't get it because I think her dye has seemed into what's left of her brain at this point. Kate is so disliked because yeah I know sheep, "But, but, you don't know her," well, I may not but I don't know Catherine either but what I see is this in one difference:

Catherine, with or without her title will probably always be who she is anyway: likeable, determined.

And then there's Kate, who from what I've actually seen she'll always be with or without her show who she has always been: not as likeable, undetermined.

That's the only comparison I can make really.

I did hear that Jersey Shore just bombed on their closing season. If I danced at all I'd do the happy dance, but I don't dance.

Kate still needs the biggest reality check there is. Which without a job and income you don't last forever on former stardom. Yeah right.

I think she's just too afraid to venture out and even TRY for a work ethic. What a shame.

Anyway, off topic if nobody minds. I was in a store about yesterday or day before I've been too busy and I came across this kid I overheard talking to his mother, "I don't care it's Christmas and I said I want it. You're supposed to give me what *I* want." And I couldn't help but think, THIS is how people like Kate are made because this child's mother gave him the gift because I saw him at the check out stand, "You could at least say thank you," she said to her son. "Why? I shouldn't have to, it's Christmas. It's MY stuff."

That's how people like Kate are made because people like that get catered to in life. I wouldn't have given that kid anything if he expected to be handed a gift just because it's Christmas. Please.

I think she's thrilled she was mentioned in TIME. Face it, she thinks it makes her relevant in some way. Hope springs eternal and all that.

Fleeing the Sheeple, you asked me which week on DWTS Carrie Ann Inaba pointed out that Kate has no claim to fame. It was the first week :)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nCSpTpA3ayo

The way she words it is pretty reserved, she just basically says that Kate is different from the other contestants that have been on the show because she's not a performer of any kind and she's not an athlete.

So sheeple, she' s not a kind woman, doesn't have many (if any) friends, isn't able to find a fulfilling relationship, has a horrible reputation in general, is considered a joke by most in Hollywood, and as we saw with our own eyes on DWTS, has zero talent .... so remind me what we are jellus of?

2. Beauty - certainly not inner
3. Great husband - had him, lost him
4. Humility - hahahahahhahah! hahhahaahhahaah.
5. Great reputation - only far far away in Sheeple Land

I wish the media would call the Duchess by her preferred name, Catherine. Her family has never called her Kate and she has never been happy about the nickname.

And that would also put an end to having her name and Kate Gosselin's name on the same page of anything.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I thought Catherine was just the new more formal name she started using recently now that she's a royal. Kate herself says she uses Kate. "I'm still very much Kate," said Middleton, when a woman outside Belfast City Hall asked what name she
preferred.

http://www.thenational.ae/news/world/europe/kate-middleton-is-now-a-more-regal-catherine#ixzz2Fw1pzida

The only thing I don't understand is why if her name is Catherine, Kate is not spelled Cate. In any case the press loves short names because they fit easier on headlines. Bush was so much easier to write headlines for than Clinton! I don't think they would use Catherine even if she asked them to, it wouldn't fit.

My holiday is complete! Just found The Sound of Music on Abc!!! Cara and Mady and I are happily watching... #bringonChristmas

Kate Gosselin @Kateplusmy8
The Sound of Music is so hopelessly romantic that it makes me cry....:) (this part anyway...)

When exactly is Jon getting these kids? By her tweets it's like he's dead. By other's history of tweet sitings and photos, that's not the case at all.

fidosmommy said...

I can picture Kate Gosselin flipping through TIME magazine and seeing this list. Wow! I'm still famous! As famous as an English princess!

As Catherine flips through the same magazine she scratches her head and wonders who Kate Gosselin might be. And all of England wonders with her.

Anonymous said...

@fidosmommy, too bad this page doesn't come with the "like" option at the bottom of your comment because I like this. Thanks for a laugh.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I've always been impressed with the way Kate Middleton handles the press. One thing I think she does really well is shut up. She doesn't say much, just smiles and nods, is never really that chatty. But she's talkative enough that it doesn't come across as standoffish. She seems to realize the less you say the better.

Kate suffers a lot from just running her mouth. Half the trouble she got into never would have happened had she just paused, taken a deep breath, and just smiled gracefully through bad situations like Kate Middleton does.

The unfortunate suicide of that nurse was a bad situation. Kate made one statement expressing her deep sympathy and left it alone. Anything else would have started to spiral the whole thing out of control. Short statements, concise, or none at all are almost always the way to go. It's what Kate should have down about Newtown--make one statement, then leave it alone. Piling on makes it look like you are overcompensating.

Anyway I'm sure Middleton has help with the press but frankly I think her and her time handle it beautifully and so classy.

Working Woman said...

Well I know she had to make sure everyone knew that she has them for Christmas this year. Hopefully they will see him soon.

And is the Sound of Music even a romantic movie? Maybe the one scene where Maria and Captian von Trapp discover their love for each other, but other than that, I remember the first half being light-hearted and music-filled, and the second half being intense. Don't remember a whole lot of tear-inducing romance.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

LOL exactly. If she ever did watch Kate I bet she'd be horrified. Especially since her family has worked so hard and are a rags to riches story. Oh, and they STILL work even though they really don't need to.

fidosmommy said...

Admin, I am a subscriber to Majesty Magazine, a very pro-European royalty publication. I love peeking in on their lives, and there is a great
historical piece each month. Love it.

Anyway, that's where I read about Catherine not
liking the name. The editors of the magazine have a close, friendly relationship with the royal family of England (as close as that could ever be for outsiders) and I just took them at their word that "Kate" is a new thing for her.
Maybe she started using it at University.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

There's a few romantic scenes but a more just feel good movie about a SINGLE FATHER just trying to do his best with his kids and meets a nice woman who helps him. Oh and he also doesn't want to exploit his kids by putting them on display in a concert..... LOL!

My mom met the real Maria Van Trapp up I think in Vermont or NH wherever they lived when my mom was a kid. Maria was SOO sweet would literally invite tourists in, chat with them, my grandfather has video of her. She was so respectful to her fans.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I guess it could be a new thing, who knows. I mean there's no reason for Kate to tell that woman that she prefers Kate that I can think of. It seems like you should be able to say which one you prefer, who cares. And she said Kate.

fidosmommy said...

The Sound of Music must be a true Gosselin family tradition. I think they must watch it

Thanks, Working Woman!! Yes, Carrie Ann said she's not a performer or an athlte, but I was asking about your post in which you said that Carrie Ann, on DWTS, said that Kate has no real talent or claim to fame other than her kids. That one isn't it, but maybe it's another week. It really doesn't matter...don't bother looking for it. I thought perhaps you knew off-hand which dance she was doing at the time.

I do recall CA's statement about Kate having no self-awareness and remember that as being harsh, but that wasn't on DWTS. I think it was on Joy Behar's show. Ouch!

Kate, how many times have your seen Sound of Music? Try a different one. "Homecoming: A Christmas Story" is on television right now. Excellent movie about Christmas in 1933. Beautiful story about love and family values...very inspirational.

I didn't find fault with watching it again. I love that movie. Absolutely love it. My comment was that since she's seen it already, and most likely has it on DVD, that there is an excellent movie on about a large family in the Depression. It was the movie on which the Walton series was based.

Sorry if I gave the impression that I was slamming Kate...not my intention.

Fleeing the Sheeple, that is actually the Carrie Anne comment I was referring to. Although she didn't say verbatim that Kate doesn't have a talent or claim to fame, that is almost how I interpret her comment that Kate is different than the other contestants because she is not a performer of any sort or an athlete and has never had any training in anything. That basically is the same as pointing out that someone has no claim to fame , unlike most of the DWTS contestants who are famous for acting or gymnastics and singing or something.

But Fleeing the Sheeple, I sincerely apologize if my reference was misleading in any way! I just always thought it was funny that Carrie Ann said that because she was essentially acknowledging that Kate was famous for... well, nothing.

Wishing you and everyone else a wonderful, love-filled holiday! Always loved reading your posts :)

One thing Ms Kreider did not make: The Soup! I just watched The Soup on E and the rerun of their ”End of the World We Told You So Very Special Episode”. Reality Celebs whose antics are responsible for the apocalypse: Jersey Shore kids, Kardashians, Real Housewives, Bachelor or Bachelorette cast, Flava Flav and Brigitte Nielsen, New York from the Flavor of Love and I Love New York, the top models, so on and so fourth. Ms Kreider is so 2010, she did not even rate a mention. They had Jeri from the second season of Survivor even!
I could see Ms Kreider doing something in the future, being on one of those VH1 shows where a number of z-list celebs or one hit wonder band members comment on something from a particular era, like I love the nineties. Even Tonya Harding has been on that one. .

I was reading one of my recaps to see if I could track down what Carrie Anne said about Kate and I found some reference to Mark Ballas talking about something that went down when he met Kate? Does anyone remember him talking about this? Beats me.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Baw-hahahha I found it in my recap. Not the exact quote but I remember it now, how much Carrie Anne emphasized never, ever in the history of the show have they ever had anyone on who does NOTHING for a career. LOL you really have to wonder what went down between them behind the scenes to make her so darn awesomely passive aggressive.

"
Bruno says it looks like Tony is pushing around a shopping cart. A Target shopping cart I hope. The audience boos. “She has to learn!” Bruno insists. Oh, Bruno, there’s a lot this woman has to learn, you don‘t know the half of it. I love the part when Carrie Ann basically says she has absolutely no talent in any area she can think of, unlike EVERYBODY ELSE who has been on this show who had some kind of talent in SOMETHING. Kate for some reason smiles, thinking this is a compliment. Okay, sure! Carrie Ann then calls her sweetly vulnerable and honest. I can think of a lot of words to describe Kate before I would pick vulnerable and honest. Vulnerable and honest are probably number 524 on the list, followed by kind and nice and works for a living."

I was reading Hoffman's book on Kate and came upon something very interesting. We all know she had a boob job in early 2009. Well, reading below she refers to her surgery in April 2009. I wonder if that is when she had her boobs done.
++++++++++
Kates input: ep ideas for April   hi all- I would love to add the trainer ep (Kate weight training) at the end of the month (can't weight train following surgery til Apr 30), building the dog house (to go with wireless fence training), the kids passport process (apps, photos etc), updated Sams club or grocery store visit (kids scramble to help put stuff away-- SO cute!), crooked house installation, little kids birthday party, mothers day and part of my book tour (prefer to cover the southern leg that begins in NC, Julie).   If we can get those items scheduled   in the month of April around my ridiculously busy schedule, that would be great.   For the little kids birthday party, my thought is this: the kids want a bouncy house party. I thought we could do it at a park, invite preschool friends who are willing to sign NDAs and agree to be on camera ONLY. We can forbid all cameras at the party and make area secure according to Steve who obviously would orchestrate all security. More Details later. Party to be held as close to May 10 as possible...., Taking off now. More ideas later. Kate Sent from my (fourth!) PINK iphone

I remember one thing Carrie Ann said was that she had a genuine lack of self-awareness that she had never seen in anyone else before. I have to admit she did better in that first dance than I ever thought she would. If she had gone on from there and put the work in instead of staying up all night and wanting to sleep during the day she could have actually learned to dance. There was just something very odd about her not being able to hold her eyes open on the morning of that rehearsal and saying all she wanted to do was sleep, something about people thinking she was a bad mother, while twirling her hair and making goo-goo eyes at PB, oh and turning on the water." She was acting like anything but a mature woman with 8 kids; it came across to me that she just wanted to be "little" that day, and have PB fuss and fret over her. Why did they even set that up to be filmed unless it was to prove that she made an effort to come to rehearsal, but had to leave would be my guess and for the almighty sympathy. If you even make an appearance of a somewhat reasonable effort at taking care of your children there is no way you are going to lose them and she knew that. The gold standard with CPS is basically, food, shelter, and running water. Bizarre is the operative word when it comes to KT and I think that is part of the reason for what remaining fascination people have with her.

Merry Christmas to all and to all a good DAY!

We are staying close to home, except tomorrow we will go to my niece's house for dinner. Friends will be popping in and out later for a cup of cheer, as well.

I have been enjoying a lazy couple of days, watching old movies and walking my dear foster dog. Bless her furry heart, she does not care if it is -34 celcius with the wind chill - she wants a walk and she wants it now, please!
She is sweet and the Bear is smitten.

Anyhoo. I am not surprised by Bethenney's separation. There is something about her that I just do not like. I keep telling myself that if Ellen likes her, she must be a good egg, but...
Her hubby always seemed so defeated to me.

I'll be around the next few days. But I sure hope you all enjoy safe travels and have the kind of holiday that YOU enjoy!
PEACE for all!

Thank you for the work that you do, truly. Your dedication, passion, and talent are very impressive and very appreciated.

I may be horrified by how Kate lives her life, but she did indirectly impact the formation of this blog, so for that I am grateful, because this blog is fun place with some truly great posters.

For the longest time, probably about a year and a half, I was a reticent lurker at this blog and was too nervous to post, worrying that I wouldn't have anything original or decent to contribute. Eventually I started posting and have seen that everybody who takes the time to come here has their own unique perspective and it deserves to be heard. And everyone here is very welcoming :) So, to all the lurkers out there who are thinking about posting once or regularly, we would love to hear from you!

Anyway, wishing the staff and posters and readers a happy joyful peaceful holiday!

I have been in full blown Christmas rush for the last month, but I had to take a minute to give Kate the gift of some relevant platitudes she can actually LEARN and BENEFIT from. Not her usual ones that sound like a bratty 14 yr. old wrote them. No Kate, we are not jellus of you, we do not wish you could have your stuff that your kids toiled endlessly to pay for. What we want is for you to take this fresh new year and start anew. Stop pining away for a show that will never come. Stop stubbornly insisting that you and the kids being on TV is the only acceptable path you will take. Create a new normal. Stop living in the past. Let go of your grudges and bitterness.

Peace, love and safe travels to all. It truly is the most wonderful time of the year!

Happy Holidays to everyone on the blog. We made it to my daughters houses. Santa came to visit at my youngest daughter's house. He's the mall Santa but has a real Santa beard, tummy, and even little round glasses perched on the end of his nose. The kids were thrilled, they are at the perfect age to believe. He asked them if they'd been good but also asked if they'd helped anyone. I think he meant around the house but they proudly replied that they had made Christmas baskets for all of the elderly people at the nursing home and they collected toys for Toys for Tots. Santa really was a bit amazed and he gave them each a cute coin that said "I was caught being good." They were thrilled. I'm so proud of them. I'm wishing a lovely holiday for everyone.

Everyone enjoy all the good food but just don't eat so much you get sick, such a bummer -- lolol!

See you all back here on the other side of Christmas!

My wonderful Eldest Daughter just volunteered to do our Christmas celebration at their house this year! There is a starry crown for her!

Our Christmas is on New Years' Day, because my Son-In-Law is a pastor and therefore very busy on Christmas; plus, they live about 200 miles away.

Our family consists of 8 adults and 5 kids, most of whom are teens, and 2 dogs and 2 cats. Our house is 900 square feet so I am very relieved.Mr. Modo and I will have a quiet Christmas Day at home.

Our other tradition is to take everyone out to Swiss Chalet for lunch that day. This means that Eldest D. will only have to do snacks and tidy up her house; all the same, she is the best !

Tucker's Mom, what a thoughtful act of kindness :) Its a testament to the person when they not only give but feel so happy doing it, as you clearly do. Thanks for sharing it!

Audible Click, glad you got to see your daughters, and how adorable about your grandchildren! Not only did they do such loving deeds, they are clearly moved by it and got real joy out of helping others by making the Christmas baskets and donating the toys. It is a true testament to how they were raised and the sentiments they pick up from their loved ones, including you.

Hello everyone! Hope each of you is having a peaceful and gentle holiday time.

Previously, on The Dwindle Show, the kids and a couple of significant others, were arriving on my doorstep, bringing with them all of my grandpuppies. Oy. The final child arrives very late tonight, darned resturant business working him again till 10PM on Christmas Eve!

Crock pots are getting their work outs! Frankly, I cant recall the last time I was this happy.

I have a moment as the girls just ran out for a last minute gift for the their brother, everyone chipped in for a Kindle for him! So much more fun than the socks and underwear that *I* always give! (Socks and underwear are a Dwindle Family Tradition!!!! No lie!!!! At this point they would think I dont love them anymore if I stopped it now!)

I have hauled out my Premade Perfect Pie Crusts that my hired chef made for me, I put a shower cap on my head and tromped around barefoot in my kitchen. When the kids came in the kitchen, I splashed some flour around so they could ooooh and ahhhh about how busyandexhausted I must be! Psych! I'd post pics but we are just having so much funfunfun!!!!

Miss you guys, hope you are all well, and I will be back to annoy the snot out of you faster than you can say TheQueenOfEveryDamnThing.

Merry Christmas to Admin and The Blog Girls, with special appearance by The Pool & Mowing Boys!

One of the tweeties also thinks Kate should have a show on the cooking channel to show how to cook for a ton of kids on a dime. Kate's answer was of course:

@Kateplusmy8: @xxxxxx @CookingChannel great idea! I love to create in my kitchen...the more the merrier. Oh and Merry Christmas eve btw! :)

And the name of show can be "Cooking from Cans with K8!" No...."K8 Gets Canned!" Ooooh, yeah, that one.

Wishing everyone here a very merry Christmas. I am sadly not much into the Christmas spirit, but I think it will catch up with me hopefully by this evening. I am tired from working, fitting in shopping here and there, and still need to get one more gift this afternoon. I am working half day (bah humbug!). It has been so quiet here at the office, but every year my boss seems to think that work must go on!

What I want for Christmas is an attitude adjustment - lol. I think I will need to turn to some champagne for assistance.

Best wishes to you all.

Kate's cooking show?
Call it "Cooking with Katherine"

Kate doesn't cook.

She's been off tv for a yr. Wonder if she has started hitting the ol' panic button yet?

Millicent said...

Kate will never accept that her moment in the sun is over, never to return. I am beginning to think that she formulated the idea of having a multiple birth as a teenager and focused her efforts on achieving that goal. It might have been the defining force of her life - to have a multiple birth and the become famous for that reason, cashing in any way possible. I think she exceeded her wildest dreams when she (and Jon) landed the TLC show, and it went to her head.

Jon has escaped. I wish the children could escape as well. The older they get, the greater their chances, as Kate finds them less and less likely to garner her a tv show. Jon already has them 50% of the time -- so that's some form of sanity for those children.

Some posters here don't think much of Jon -- but I root for him because I believe Jon was often the sole source of real love in those children's lives, especially as Kate winnowed out family member after family member. Grandparents gone. Aunts and uncles banished. "Nana Janet" gone. Beth gone. All never to be seen nor spoken of again. How frightening it must be as a child, to see every person who has ever been kind to you, banished from your life by a mother who beats you with a wooden spoon, and worse. So their dad was probably sometimes the only beacon of light, and to his credit, he stuck it out against TLC and Kate and has prevailed.

Kate is only going to get loonier by the year, especially as the aging process can no longer be denied. No one is going to give her a cooking show, a dating show, a single-mom making do show, or even a freak show. Kendra Wilkerson is younger, prettier and more connected than Kate, and yet she's reduced to trying to market a mom-swapping show (with apparently no success). I'd say Kate's chances are certainly much less than Kendra's - i.e., nada.

Millicent said...

Why is Kate complaining about wrapping? Why did she leave it till today- kids love to see mysterious parcels around the tree for the days leading up to Xmas, and guess, wonder, wish...and didn't she say C and M offered to do the tups'?

This is day 3 that a google search for news in the last 24 hours has turned up zero stories. Not even radaronline, gather, examiner, huffington post or any tabloids.

She is done and so am I. I've had a of fun snarking and sharing with the lovely, intelligent ladies on this blog. Thank you, admin--you have done a terrific job keeping this blog on track and interesting.

I will continue to read here from time to time, but, I don't have the time or interest in the Gosselin family saga any more--my own flawed and very imperfect Real Life is getting very complicated right now.

I look forward to a Gosselin-free future and hope everyone has a peaceful New Year.

I have nothing but empathy for the Gosselin children and I hope that their futures will be camera-free and mediocre. I have no doubt that Kate will reap what she has sown, in life and in family.

Merry Christmas Eve, everyone! Definitely share your giving stories, it is inspirational for me! Plus, here comes that ” fiscal cliff”, so be sure to add up your charitable donations including mileage if applicable, it may be the last year we in the USA can deduct the charitable donations from out taxes. If you are active in a 501c3 nonprofit organization, you know how important accounting for donations and expenditures is when it is time for your organization to file their tax forms, gotta do that to maintain your nonprofit status y'know! It didn't use to be so complicated. Baaa, humbug!
Gotta walk the dogs! They are Vertu interested in the ham cooking in the oven. Did anyone ever find a crockpot ham recipe? Dwindle?

Susantoyota, I have always enjoyed your comments.

I actually like it when people share ideas for donations. Someone
shared that they got coats, etc at an amazing sale. Perhaps that
inspired someone else to check out the same or different sales?
UPS has some of the most bizarre rules and strictest timetables for
their drivers. Someone said thank you and spread some cheer. Maybe
that gave others an idea?

I learned from a friend that one thing that rarely gets donated to the
homelss in underwear. Someone here mentioned feminine hygiene
products. Lightbulb moment!

As some keep emphasizing, we are all anonymous here, just known but
our use of consistent screen names. It's not like "Susie Homemaker of
Brunswick St., Detroit MI" made a donation.

Disclaimer: to the best of my knowledge, no one named Susie Homemaker
lives at that address. Or even exists. Hopefully that address does
not exist either.

Rhymes with Witch 82, thanks for sharing. I can't believe she made that comment! What exactly led her to believe she would last in this industry? Her lack of talent? Her hideous personality? Most people in Hollywood, whether they are likable or not, are farrrr more interesting than she is. She has no "it" factor whatsoever. The only reason she became so incredibly well-known is that her marriage fell apart on television for the world to see, and people always love a good train wreck.

I know it was years ago and she was very famous (or should I say, infamous) back then, but still. What an ego.

Betcha she wishes she could get that "moment" back.

Russian tea

Tang instant orange drink mix
Lemon-flavored instant tea mix
1 box of red hots (about a cup)
1 kettle of boiling water

How-To:

Combine 1 cup tang and 1 cup tea mix in a 1 gallon pitcher. Pour the boiling water over the top. Add the red hots and stir until well mixed. Add hot water to make a gallon.

Is that not simple? And it is so fragrant---just perfect for a chilly autumn evening. This will serve quite a few--I've made it twice for recent church gatherings and it was

I hope everyone else's day runs smoothly your travels are safe.

I really like the stories shared here about
giving. Keep telling them, please! Don't listen to the party poopers.

We are so blessed to live in a world where we demonstrate more compassion than anger, where we
seek to address individual needs on a one-to-one
basis while the governments dump piles of money
into faceless bureaus and departments and hope it does some good. The "humble braggarts" of our countries have done more good for the
spirit and benefit of people everywhere because they do something, and then go do something more. "I want to help" is the mantra we hear ringing in the air. "I want to do something."
And so they go to stores and buy sale coats and
boots and school supplies and hammers and nails
and bagfulls of food and they meet the needs of their fellow citizens.

Keep doing what you are doing, "humble braggarts" because what you are doing is a great and wonderful thing. And I would dearly love to hear what you are doing in your own community and in far flung places.

Blessings to you all.

A few weeks ago there was less than a fifteen percent chance of a White Christmas for us, and then within the past few days, changed to a 90 percent chance...and we got it! We solved that problem several years ago. I shop early. Anything that needs to be removed from hermetically sealed packaging gets removed before it's wrapped. Batteries are put in the item, it's tested, instructions are filed away in an envelope, and then the gift is wrapped. So it doesn't look pristine and virginal that way. It's ready to go on Christmas morning.

I'm surprised that Kate, in all her "Super Mom" glory couldn't have figured that out.
************************************************

Is it ok if I steal that idea for next year if I give you credit? I was ready to use the scissors on myself by the time I got done getting my granddaughter's new toys out of their packaging. I did use the time to tell my daughter stories of "I can remember when we didn't have all this plastic packaging and when you bought a bottle of Tylenol, there was no safety seal--you opened the bottle and there were the pills with a wad of cotton stuck in the middle." Got a laugh and a couple of eye rolls althought she did agree it was disheartening to see some stores open until 8 p.m. and some restaurants open until 10ish on Christmas Eve.

Hope y'all survived all the giddy shrieking and squealing this morning, LOL. I'm sung out and tired, but happy. Had a nice, peaceful Christmas dinner and I feel like a turkey -- stuffed! I'm so thankful I made time to go to the grocery store on Christmas Eve, even tho I hate fighting the crowds. We have a BLIZZARD warning!! It's supposed to start late tonight and continue all day tomorrow. The forecast is for 8 - 12 inches of snow, winds of 35 - 40 MPH, and lots of blowing and drifting. I'm not looking forward to this at all. I don't like snow, much less blizzard snows. Hope anyone who is in the path of this storm is all hunkered down and prepared to shelter in place for a few days. It's going to be nasty.

Let me get this straight, it's Christmas Day, KK has the kids (or so she says) and she's spent the day twitting? What a twitiot! Those kids must feel soooooo special. Mom can't put the bloody phone down long enough to enjoy Christmas morning with them.

Aggiemom -- sorry to hear you have a sick kiddo. Hope she (or he?) is feeling better soon. There's nothing worse than being sick on Christmas, and it's adding insult to injury to be in bed during school break, LOL!

Lilly -- So glad that your DH is on the mend. Prayers for his continued improvement.

Admin -- there are a couple of free photography books available in the Kindle store today if you are interested. Go to freebooksy.com and they are linked down near the bottom of the page. There are also tons of free books available, for any one who has a Kindle or the Kindle app. ereaderIQ listed nearly 300 new freeby mysteries alone, and I'm sure there are a bunch in the other genres too. Happy reading for those of you who are fellow bookworms.

Enjoy the rest of your holiday. I'm going to make myself some hot chocolate and curl up with my cat and a good book.

It's also a braggart tweet, and not at all humble. Is she a poor, struggling mom of EIGHT with EIGHT kids to support who are lucky enough to get a few presents under the tree, or a celebrity mom who gives the kids everything they want? What persona is the flavor of the month? What about the sheeple who most likely saved their hard-earned pennies for some time and sent gifts to her, only to be thanked with a generic tweet? How are they feeling, knowing that these kids got so much for Christmas and that it really wasn't necessary to contribute to this "needy" family?

Maybe they can't think logically about this. There are none so blind...

This is funny (besides getting a gripe!). Milo is getting a bit testy. So is Milo saying that the kids' money has all been spent? Where did it go? If so, then exactly what is Kate doing right now to be the "breadwinner" of the family? Her employment is with whom? If Milo thinks that the kids money has not all been spent, then Kate isn't the sole breadwinner of the family...she's been living off her kids' money.

Milo does has a knack for shooting herself in the foot!

PatK said...

Yes, it's funny how no one can answer just HOW Kate is making money to be the sole provider of her eight, YES, COUNT 'EM EIGHT, kids.

If they've blown through the money the kids made by being exploited on tv, then certainly the money Kate made from her three craptastic books and short stint at Coupon Cabin must also be dwindling by now.

So which money did she invest? Hers or the kids? The way I see it, it doesn't matter. When you're not pulling in a steady income, it's all going to be be gone eventually.

Milo just needs to shut the hell up.

Aggiemom -- Glad to hear the kiddo has nothing worse than a head cold. Miserable and uncomfortable, but not too serious, thank God. ereaderiq.com is the most comprehensive of the freebie/cheapie listings. They have over a thousand books listed at any given time, and break it down by genre. You can sign up for a free daily eletter, choose your genres, and they'll send you a daily link to a couple of select books in each of your genres. You can always link to their main website for the complete listing. freebooksy is nice, too. They also have a free eletter and also list books for the other ereaders on the market. Two others I really like are http://blog.booksontheknob.org is another good one, as well as http://www.fkbooksandtips.com (the fk stands for free kindle, so don't get excited, LOL). There's some overlap among the blogs, but each one has some the others don't pick up. I'm glad I made your day!

I can't believe KK is all but saying that the kids don't want to be with Jon for Christmas. I wish there were some way he could force her to keep her nasty mouth shut. I know he could probably get a court order, and possibly already has, but she'd never keep quiet. One of these days, it will bite her in the butt bigtime, and I certainly hope I'm around to see it. The damnable thing is she always stops just short. She didn't actually SAY the kids don't want to see their dad, she just strongly implied it, and that's what she'll point to in her defense if anyone calls her on it.

I had an original one, too and I was a little bit older than Kate at the time. In fact, I had quite a few of them. I collected them, mostly the unusual ones. I'm not weird. I just liked them and never took them out of their boxes. I remember I paid $20.00 for one little guy, and when I decided to sell them that one went for $300 on ebay. That one became quite collectible. Had I known it at the time, I would have loaded up on that particular one!

Merry Christmas everyone. I'm in the white Christmas group here in Chicago!

It's a crying shame Kate feels the need to parental alienate Jon on Christmas. I just feel sad about it at this point. Just sad. She's only hurting the kids. And she never considers that if that's true maybe that's because her parental alienation worked. Congratulations Kate. You were successful at something.

Kate, I'm all the assumptions I wish to make, thank you very much. Nothing you tweet will change my mind about that.

Hope everyone had a wonderful Christmas!

Amy2 said...

Kate does not take responsibility for anything that has gone wrong in her life. She has to blame others (e.g. Jon) for the cancellation of K+8. Given that its been over a year since the show was cancelled and Hollywood still hasn't called her, or perhaps even returned her many phone calls. Who can she blame? Jon had nothing to do with the cancellation. TLC cancelled because IMO they weren't making any money, she was difficult to work with, and they were looking for the next hot commodity (e.g. Honey Boo Boo).

Which circles us back to who can Kate blame for Hollywood not giving her job offers.

Working Woman here

Admin I'm sure you are having a hard enough time narrowing down your list of Kate's worst moments of 2012, not trying to make it harder for you. But tonight's parental alienating tweet may be up there in her worst moments .

I just can't get over it, and after years of watching her abysmal behavior, I'm not even sure why. I think it's because usually, when she throws Jon under the bus, it's subtle and passive-aggressive. Tonight's was sooo in-your -face and out of line. Somebody mentioned that the kids may want to be with their father sometimes and Kate responds that it's dangerous to assume?? WTF. Why should that be an "assumption"? They have a father who they love and who loves them, why wouldn't they want to see him too?

She must hate Jon, really hate him to deliver such a low, unnecessary blow. Pretty soon she will be implying that his children do not love him and say that they have one parent.

This just proves that those platitudes Kate tweets about loving and kindness are utter bs. I dont know how she lives with herself. Heartless, despicable woman.

And that other tweet about her kids' presents and "the question is what didn't they get" makes her look like an obnoxious bragger.

I generally try to ignore Ms Kreider she is just so boring. I tend to not believe the twit and her twitter. I don't think she had the kids all day, or maybe not at all today. And children are not identical in their desires, likes and dislikes. Speculation: some or all of the children know what to say to placate the child abusing, dog neglecting, not that bright, boring person. They will tolerate their maternal unit, they will love their Dad.
