Kate's cruise cancelled

Full refunds are being offered.

According to a cruise-goer, the numbers Kate expected did not meet her expectations and Kate will reach out to all that booked.

This ship has sunk.

I grew up not to far from where they live, we also had a pool, and the pool was opened on Memorial Day and closed on Labor Day with many days in between that weren't pool weather.

The kids will get pneumonia swimming in 60 degree weather. Even low 70's was pushing it, a nice cool pool does't start to feel really good until the high 70's and 80's. And then by the time it's in the 90's it heats up too much and starts to feel like bath water.

A pool in the Northweast is a lot of trouble for a few real days of great swimming, though we don't regret it.

chefsummer, thank you for that link.

I read the descriptions, but I don't believe what I am seeing. Unless that plate is 2 feet across, that cake is ridiculously small. And, those decorations...the kinds could have done better by themselves.

She is just totally inept!

That cake looks pathetic. They must have had so much fun trying to blow out ONE candle. If that is the standard traditional Gosselin birthday cake-I think it's time to start a new tradtion.

The twins got cupcakes for their birthday-so is the traditonal cake only for the tups?

Look at how purple Alexis' leg looks in that picture with her doll (at least I think it's A., KK didn't show her face, unbelievably). Those poor kids must have froze in that pool, and they certainly didn't last long in there!

I knew we'd be treated to a birthday play by play via Twitter. They had school today and she only had them a scant few hours on their actual birthday,
*********************************

But as usual she waits until they are with her, in need of her attention, so that she can hand flap them away to tippity tap on her phone. I think it is another one of her control demonstrations. "YOU want my attention? Well, you are not going to get it until I am good and ready because I am going to do THIS first." Just to constantly keep them under her thumb to remind them she is in charge and that is never going to change.

How sad for stupid Kate that she has no one to share this evening with except to twat verbage and pics with her 30 fans, none of whom she can lower herself to even meet. She wanted to be all alone, well now she's got it.

I still am not getting the extra cake - ooh maybe im special enough to auction for charity thing. Is this a historic event? Hopefully she busts it out and gives it to her kids because she just made a very strange tiny cake. 2 days of tweets about this traditional cake that no one has ever seen before? She' a lune.

Damn, the person who called it that kate is living her life in episodes still deserves post of the year for picking up on that a while ago. This nut bag is literally tweeting the lighting of the cake for the airing of her twat-isode. Yoiu really cant make this stuff up.
All tweets about HER day. HER determination..HER struggle and woe. HER need for baking powder. Geeze..turn of the twitter for 3 hours and enjoy the "party" that you made you traditional organic cake for "X'sTWO."

Lunacy..and the sheep are lapping it up and forgetting all about being canceled on. ALthough somehow I think this is going to open a few eyes.

I read twitter last night to see if the cruise would be mentioned. There was a converted sheeple on there. Seems like a really cool person..She is the one with the kate haircut. Apparantly she crossed over to the dark side yesterday and had her eyes opened. It's the fans like her..the ones with thinking skills..that are going to flock away from kate. And those fans were her bread and butter.
It's over now kate. Just accept it and be happy you have millions in the bank so that you can afford heated pool parties in your huge pool that rests on a beautiful lot of land. Enjoy your house, your kids..get involved in their lives and school because the time goes so fast. The this time she is chasing fleeting fame she should invest on her family.

But then at least the boys dont have a butterfly cake to watch their mom blow their candle out on . and - you know she did :0)

I was thinking the same thing! It's not like she is going to let them actually EAT any of it, not anymore than a taste. Letting them pig out on their own birthday cake would mean, gasp!, Kate letting 8 children control their own food portions for 8 whole minutes! And (slap clap hands together here) that cannot happen ever!

For this she needed a 50 lb sack of flour? Hand wringing over baking powder? If it wasnt for the fact that she specifically mentions 2 cakes, I would think she make at least 6 of these mini things. One for each child, decorated according to each one's personal interests.

Carezee said...

Oh ladies...... That is the saddest cake I have ever seen. Please tell me that they each got their own cake and that all of them didn't have to share that tiny little cake. No names or a wish for a happy birthday. I can't believe that she bought 50 pounds of organic flour and that is the size of the cake she made. There are no pictures of presents or cards. But this piddly little cake just breaks my heart. It is like the cupcake incident all over again.

LoveMyGrandsons said...

Oh, my gosh, there are so many things wrong with this party. First of all, kids who have been sick for the better part of 2 weeks swimming in 60 degree weather? What loving mother does that?

Second, one candle on a crappy cake for 6 kids to blow out? Why didn't she make cupcakes and put a candle on each one so each child could blow out a candle?

Lastly, as I said yesterday, she could have planned a birthday party for them at a roller rink, bowling alley (with bumper bowling maybe), or an indoor party with friends and games (a scavenger hunt maybe),etc., for this Saturday or last Saturday. Then on their actual birthday, the kids get to pick their own dinner and blow out the candles on their cupcakes. (I did this for my daughter if her birthdat fell on a week day.)

She is just so pathetic in so many ways. Those children paid her way for the last 8 years, yet she can't be bothered to put forth the effort to plan a real party for them.

Thank you Judy, you are right of course. And I have seen worse. My own dear sister at 52 years old cant frost a cake to save her life, it seems beyond her to spread, rather than plop and jab, the icing.

My problem with Katie is not the little home made cake, but the way she verbalizes on and on and on about how perfect she is, how wonderful she is, how hard she works on everything, how every grain of sugar must be jussssttt so... you would think she is single handledly putting out dinner for the Queen and 230 royals.

And Ms Perfect Gosselin got flour all over her precious counters and the cake pic clearly shows a hazy film smeared on her counter. I dont CARE about that but she screeches and abuses her little children about how this is not acceptable and spends a year twittering about how she perfectly never allows things like this to happen. This little homemade cake will have her needing a rub down by her daughters tonight because there has never been a more put upon, exhausted cake baking mother in the world.

It's not the cake, it is Kate being completely untruthful and attention seeking, every time she lowers herself to get out of bed. So I tend to ridicule her gradiose verbage that turns out to be an average little item that any precious child would be pleased to have. I didnt mean to ridicule the children's happy cake. The air fair goes through a different company and most airlines are not willing to give a refund on a nonrefundable ticket.

Also, why not wait until this weekend to celebrate the birthday? Have a small family dinner with cake tonight and do something special on the weekend. There will be more time and less stress then. So she was all about making the memories, but now confesses she doesn't remember so much. And why is that? Because she probably wasn't even on the scene for large parts of what the world saw on film. She was too busy on the book tour, or getting fitted/made up, or plotting her next "branded" venture, etc., etc. It's a shame, isn't it? All about making memories. You can't make a memory if you're not there or are too distracted by your phone or your nails or your own self-centeredness to really see what's going on. Much like tonight, in fact. Regarding Kate's latest tweet about she wished she remembered those days more, "it's all a blur". I don't know what she is referring to, but as a mom and grandma, I remember all of the precious moments, and they are never a blur. If anything, I wish that I would have spent more time in the particular memory, instead of worrying about unimportant things like laundry, doing dishes, etc.

Please don't get me wrong: during the unexpected sweet times, I stopped what I was doing to share them with my daughter or grandsons. However, to my shame, there are sometimes that I didn't, and that's what I regret. But the memories? I have them all and they are not the least bit blurred.

Em, that would not be hard to do. Most cakes have a similar batter. The only thing that changes are the additions of flavors. I would make a big batch of plane cake batter and ration it out into 6 bowls. I would let them add things like fruit, sprinkles, carmel and chocolate to the batter and then bake it. The kids would also be in charge of decorating it. It would be a great project and it would be a tradition that the kids would talk about for years.

Why dose Kate continue to embarrass Hannah by talking about an accident she had when she was a toddler? I feel sorry for Hannah. That private moment was recorded for the world to see. Kate will never let her forget it either.

Too bad their mom didn't appreciate it enough then to make herself more likable and treat the kids more kindly, so they could have continued a bit longer. Kind of glad the kids are having a quiet typical birthday, but saddened they do not appear to be celebrating with any extended family, or friends... Also, Kate tweeted about a birthday supper last night, but none of the.. Oh MY !!! I am cooking for 70 people!!!!!! I am so under pressure because I do it all myself!!!! from scratch!!! all me by myself, no not a nanny!!!!

hmmm, TLC is gone and no 70 people, no tweets about doing it all herself... Also, tradition in kate speak, means I am doing it today, so its a tradition...those kid's cakes have not been made by her , at least not the ones on tv.. mind you, last year didn't Mady say the little kids had 3 birthday's...

I would have loved to have been a fly on the wall, only to know if this birthday was a let down, or loved, because it was just them, no acting for the cameras, and no mommy preeening and trying to steal their limelight..

Last summer I met a lady who told me about a fish her son had. Mind you - I know next to nothing about fish, but she said they had to feed it little goldfish. It was some kind of Japanese meat-eating fish. ? Anyway, she said that when she entered the room where the fish tank was, holding a bag of little swimming goldfish for the meat-eating fish's meal, he would start swimming back & forth at the front of the tank! He recognized the food from across the room! One day she had some friends over and wanted to show them this behavior, so she put some baby carrots in a ziploc bag. That darn fish did nothing. He knew it wasn't his food! Could this be true?!? That's one of the craziest things I've ever heard!

I didn't think of it til someone mentioned it here, but what is she thinking with ONE candle?
If I were her, especially if I had ALL day at home, and assuming I was organized enough to check ALL the ingredients that I would need ahead of time, I would have made, um, SIX small cakes. With Eight candles one each one. And I would have continued the "tradition" of singing "Happy Birthday" to each child individually.
Of course, I would have done other things differently. I would have had grandma and grandpa over for dinner and birthday cake. I would not have had a moment to twitter or even text because I would be focused on my birthday kids. I would have watched them open their presents one at a time, and I would have let them stay up playing with new toys cuz I would drive them to school in the morning so we could sleep in. But, that's just me. I AM a mom, I don't just pretend to be one on twitter.
And, she must have someone who does showers/bedtime cuz she twittered the night away.

I agree it's time to let the sextuplets be individuals and stop lumping them together as a single unit. Although the cake was homemade, putting a single candle on it for them to blow out is just sad. Holding your breath, hoping to blow out all your birthday candles in one try is what kids do. Imagine 6 kids looking at a singular flame and wondering who it's really for.

The cake symbolizes Kate's view of them, the single candle represents the one event that brought her fame eight years ago.

Today, Kate has continued to show how checked out she is when it comes to her family. She can not remember events from a few years ago. She was probably too busy being a star. I doubt that she will remember todays events. She was too busy tweeting the play by play.

I do think that she "ran out" of baking powder on purpose. She has to create some drama. She still thinks that she is on TV where the viewers need suspense and drama.

I am sorry if I sounded like an ass by saying that everyone should know how to make baking powder substitute. I checked out one of my friends betty crocker cook books. Its a newer one. I was astounded at what I saw. All of the recipes had you use canned or boxed betty crocker ingredients. There were no useful conversions or substitutes for ingredients. My version was passed down from my grandma. It still has her notes in it. There are even a few recipes scribbled onto the inside of the cover. This book has all of the helpful conversions and substations on the first page. I wonder if the obesity problem is in part due to the lack of knowledge about cooking from scratch. I wonder what people would do if they had to live without boxed, canned and frozen meals.

just watched season finale of kate plus 8.
kate really changed a lot. She always seemed like a bitch, but she had some real moments. Around the time of the divorce kate started believing her own hype and completely disconnecting from everything other than being a superstar. SHe is so incredibly obxonious in that last episode as the lies roll off of her tongue. I couldnt even finish the episode and it was only 13 minutes long.

I can see exactly when she would have had fans..and exactly when those fans were probably turned off.

kate is so lost in her need for stardom. Hopefully as more time passes without she can stop thinking of her life as episodes that need written and displayed.

The craziest things is..the only thing kate needed to continue being a "star" as too not act/dress like she thought she was. She really thought she was America's Sweetheart. But seeing..actually SEEING her in action on DWTS and k+8 turned any sensible ones off for good.

I'm generally uncomfortable with the idea of famous people "owing" their fans things, but this is one situation that I firmly believe that Kate owes her fans a big thanks for signing up for the cruise.

&&&

I feel the same way. In general celebs shouldn't owe fans things but this is different than just a general "you owe your fans" because they do things for you you never asked for. (For instance, although it would be nice to show your support, I don't think a celeb owes a fan anything for say, starting a successful fan club on their own when they were never asks to do so)

In this case, KATE asked her fans to do something FOR her. She put an enormous amount of time and energy into trying to get her fans to fork over thousands of dollars to line their pockets. When some of them gave up so much to do that and things fell apart anyway, yes, she does owe them in this situation.

Oh count me in actually on the cake thing. I liked the cake. It was simple. It was true. It was mediocre. It looked like the cakes of my childhood. That's something my grandma would have done--stick random things on it like gummy worms. We loved it.

The thing with kids is you can bake them this cake or have a 1,000 dollar cake custom made for them and not only will kids not care about the difference but odds are they will like the mediocre cake better.

There is something just so simple and great about a chocolate cake on your birthday by mom. I am glad for once Kate seemed thrilled with something so mediocre. It's bizarre she thinks any of it is twitter fodder or something to brag about, which is the real concern here, but there's nothing wrong with it in and of itself.

I don't understand why this is all twitter fodder and why the entire day was like an episode (oops, forgot the baking soda, cue the funky music as I go on a shopping trip!), but that's another story. My bigger problem is her obsessive need to twitter about such mediocre things. Wtf is wrong with her.

Maggie said...

I think the reason Kate made two cakes and froze one is because there will be another celebration this weekend. The one she had today was a complete snooze compared to the past 7 ones.

I expect she will have a huge celebration, with over the top decorations & food, large number of friends, and lots of photos. Oh, and expect those photos to be sold to a tabloid (that she claims she hates and tells lies about her) to fund her big celebration. I hope I am wrong but I don't think Kate is satisfied with the "mediocre" display she put on yesterday for her oh so famous Gosselin sextuplets.

If the photos make it to a tabloid, I want to know how she will explain who sold the photos. That's right, she won't explain. We know it will be Steve or Deanna, but she will be the mastermind and profit from the proceeds. She is disguisting.

I would think for a narcissist being pregnant is like a high holy day times nine months. I bet some of them love this time.

Pregnancy is a perfect opportunity for a narcissist. The attention is all on you. You can get lots of sympathy and awww's as you describe all your symptoms, plus parties thrown in your honor and people constantly asking after you. People will LISTEN to all your pregnancy stories, most women at least. You can milk "scares" to the fullest extent, exaggerate and distort the truth for maximum effect. But when it's over, the attention shifts to the baby. Kate can't let this brief seven odd months go and accept the attention shifted to the kids now.

I've been meaning to share this story. I went grocery shopping the other day and someone asked my cashier, who was a pretty girl in maybe her late 20's, if they had any more selection of birthday cards. She said no that's it, but Party City down the road has some and they're half off right now. Lady said oh ok...thanks!

I said oh good I"m going to check that out and stock up, and the cashier said yeah I know that because I work there. Have to work two jobs these days, have three kids.

I must have looked impressed and astonished, TWO retail jobs on your feet all day. Ugh. Three kids. She looked at me and said Hey I'm just happy I have one job let alone two and can provide for my kids. I know so many people who can't make ends meet.

It just struck me is so representative of what America is going through right now. Two jobs. Long hours. Leaving the kids long hours while you stand on your feet all day. Exhausted when you get home but happy to be providing for your kids with your own hard earned money. Head held high and GRATEFUL. I am humbled every day by things like this. And no this woman didn't stop in the middle of checking me out to tweet her accomplishments.

But why put it on a huge charger plate on a dirty counter and take a photo to "broadcast" to your adoring public? I have to say I'm surprised that Kate's website had no mention of the tups birthday. No pictures, no blog post-nothing. C & M got a post about their birthday, Kate posted a picture of her cake and wished herself Happy Birthday, but the tups got zilch. It just seems strange-

By the way, she still has a link to the cruise website and that link still works. You would think she(or whoever helps with the website) would remove it. But then again, removing it would mean she actually has to admit the cruise was a big fail-and she may still be in denial about that.

One of my favorite traditions in our house is breakfast in bed on Mother’s Day! All the kids have been planning the big meal for weeks now. Check out my latest CouponCabin blog for more of our plans and make sure to see below for some great Mother’s Day deals!

Why doesn't she include those deals on her CC blog, where you would think they belong? If you have to go to her website to find these coupons and deals, she should at least mention it in her CC blog.

Anyway, the only recommendation is to abort and try for another pregnancy in a year. Long story short, I couldn't do that went thru with my pregnancy to deliver a healthy baby boy. Although my son knows about the issues with my pregnancy his birthday is all about him. He picks out the cake flavor, what he wants to do on that special day. My pregnancy is never brought up and the only thing I say to him is how much I love him and how thankful I am to be his mother and him my son.

I agree it is sweet when a mother takes the time to bake a special cake for her child(ren)'s birthday. We do tend to overdo the snark and nitpick on KK a lot. However, she brings it on herself. She makes such a frelling production out of EVERYTHING! All the hype and drama and expectation and then we see -- mediocrity at its finest. That's the reason for all the criticism and the snark. It's the let-down. If she just said something like "I'm no baker, but I want to make something special for my kids", then proceeded to bake a cake and give it to the kids, most of us wouldn't say a word. But when she tweets and brags and goes on and on and on about this spectacular creation of hers and how the kids LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it and it's the best thing since sliced bread and it turns out to be resoundingly average (or less than average), she sets herself up. I'll make a vow not to criticize, harp and snark if KK will make a vow to keep things low-key and private.

YES! My original Betty Crocker cookbook from the late '60s has all those lovely conversions in it. About 15 years ago, DH decided to buy me a new version and most of it is how to mix a box mix of this with a can of that. I was SOO disappointed! My daughters began talking semi-seriously about which one of them would claim my original cookbook when I die (wth?)and then it evolved into a joke about knocking me off in order to get the book. hehe. I went online and found that my original book is considered a collectors item and I paid around $50 each to get 3 used copies to give each of them as gifts. To this very day they will still call me and ask how to do this or that and after I give my advice I remind them to check their copy of that cookbook. It tells you everything you could ever want to know!

At least I can sleep at night now knowing they wont be plotting on my life to get at my cookbook.

PS I bought my son assorted cookbooks too and he is now a chef.

Re marathons

I am sure Kate is waiting for someone to sponsor her. This is another money making scheme for her. At the very least she gets minimal exposure and time away from her kids. But, why should anyone sponsor her? It is still sketchy whether, or not she actually ran the entire LV marathon, and she has proven herself to be a complete failure in promotion. Who would want to sponsor a lazy, lying, cheating has been, when there are plenty of other honest and true runners out there to promote their products. I also think she is lacking a PR rep. I think with the cancellation of the TLC contract, she was left on her own and she is too cheap to hire one. Another delusion of hers, that she can represent herself. Seems to be working really well. (snark)

Where to start?

1.flour purchase. Who buys 50 lbs? If this was a common purchase for her, she wouldn't be scooping it into new storage bags. (note to Kate...use FREEZER bags).

2. queen of organization? she should have known she was out of baking powder; that's not a weekly purchase (when I use the last of mine, I put it on the list).

3. that bday cake. Oh, I know, it is supposed to be a Gosselin family tradition. Gee, seems like all the bday cakes on the show were all store-bought. By her tweets, you would envision a huge bday cake...instead, she produces a glorified cupcake, and it was awful looking. I think my 13yr olds could have baked something nicer than that. If her 'dream sealed with a kiss' had anything to do with cooking, her food pics aren't helping!
(and what happened to this week's Menu Monday?)

4. the pool. Locals said it was too cold to swim, but it's a Gosselin tradition...gee, did she take them swimming every year, even before moving? I guess the kids ought to be used to the cold, she made them lay on the cold laundry room floor while sick, she also opens all the windows when they are sick, too.

5. swimming..hmm...haven't all the kids been sick, and someone went to the dr yesterday?

6. still tweeting birth weights...Hey Kate. that was EIGHT YEARS AGO. Let's move forward.

7. Kate said in the rv eps she wasn't 'waterish'. She really ought to take lessons, she could get some great exercise if she learned how to swim...lots better on the joints!
(what happens if one of the kids gets distressed in the water? She just going to flap her arms?)she really needs to learn how to swim for their safety's sake.

Sara at #105.
Happy Mother's Day to you!!

I have always thought the same thing. Yes she loves her children but I have always felt she wanted as many embryos as possible because she wanted all the freebies and outrageous lifestyle that Kate got, in order to benefit the six she already had at home. And the public saw right through her. By the time she had her eight, the public was more than fed up with the blantant grifting and nastiness of Katie Irene and tossed Nadya away on her ear. I think a great deal of the outrage that is directed at Nadya is delayed outrage at Kate and the public's determination to never create another monster like Kate again. Also, I have often wondered if Nadya's middle-eastern ethnicity has fueled the public against her and her 14 children.

Kate missed a big opportunity there with Nadya. She could have publically stepped forward and offered hands on help to help Nadya organize and mastermind her household and yet she remained deathly silent and lets this woman flounder. Kate could have come out saying "Children are precious, this should be all about the kids. Nadya's kids deserve life on a golden platter. I am going to stay here for a month and help out while my children enjoy the summer with their dad and grandparents." If Kate had managed to spin it unselfishly she could have started her fame ball rolling again.

For me the ancient cookbook is Kate Aitken's. (sp?) It's Canadian, and my mother bought me my own copy when I moved out. Still use it. Old-fashioned but so useful. And I always laugh where it says "note: tip for brides" It's THAT old!

Yes spot on. I've said before Kate is what I call a talker not a doer. Talkers talk about what wonderful things they do, while doers shut up and actually do them.

But talkers seem to like the talk about it and are often scared of actually doing it. Talkers talk about what great job they're going to get (when the truth is they are too scared to apply), what trip they are planning (when for whatever reason, laziness, scared, it won't happen), all the wonderful things they WILL do for their kids, all the fun they WILL have this year, how great a relationship WILL be. Sounds like Kate to T? She seemed to like the fantasy of a cruise with a bunch of beautiful Stepford looking adoring fans. This was fun for her to talk about the last several months. When push came to shove and she actually have to go on it, she ran scared as a rabbit. She is a talker not a doer.

Doers, on the other hand, can't stand just sitting around TALKING about crap like this and would rather just get themselves out there and make it happen. They DO IT. Since I have such a doer personality, any talkers who have come into my life get left behind pretty quickly.

It's so easy to pick on a target like Kate, she opens herself up for the snark.

That said, I also think baking a birthday cake is sweet, if only she dd not lie and lie again about those traditions she invents on the spot. Or make such a to-do about baking and end up with a large cupcake for 9 people. Any bets as to who blew out one candle for 8 kids.

No wonder Mady calls her out about her medical skills ( and fyi who would want to tweet that?). Today she admits that at least one kid has been home for two straight weeks (did not stop Supermom from going to NYC and taking a long weekend for a short soeech). I can't believe she had swim afternoon just to what, keep a barely started tradition? Fooilsh, foolish woman.

----------

I agree. I'm not so sure that she was thrilled with something so mediocre as she was to be able to claim that she took it upon herself to bake it. The cake was pathetic, but so what? It was homemade. Some of mine have looked worse than that. Good that she made one, but did it come from the heart, or was it just to be able to twitter about it, claiming exhaustion, running out of baking powder, "treacherous" baking day, etc.? She has an ulterior motive for everything she does, which is to try to convince her adoring fans that she does everything for these kids. That's what irked me about that cake -- that she would take a photo, stop and twitter when it was lit. She did the same thing with that half-decorated Christmas tree. In fact, she does it with all of the holidays. We heard about her stuffing 10,000 eggs, running around getting Valentine's Day treats. It's all about HER, always and forever.

Hasn't Willow Pinket-Smith been having some fairly serious problems lately? And hasn't she been making them public? I put the P-S parents in the 'yikes bad' column awhile ago after they started pushing all of their kids into showbiz.

Hope the G boys will get to blow out their own candles today, and that none of the kids end up with pneumonia. Just the typical birthday wishes one has for all children :snark:

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Thanks for sharing the Willow interview. I may do a post but I'm kind of torn about how to handle it. Something doesn't smell right about this family. The kids have always come across as arrogant and over the top to me. Their situation seems nothing like the Gosselins or other scorned famous kids.

It seems like Willow's complaints about being famous are a little, well, spoiled. Oh, it takes you an extra 10 minutes because you have to call security. Well, plan ahead. She clearly WANTS to be famous and perform and all that. I feel more sympathy for a child who tried it, hadn't a clue what they were getting into, was used and abused, and now wants out.

Once a Viewer said...

Yes, the cake was ok, small ,mediocre, but maybe she broke the second one out too.If the kids are sick maybe they didn't want much, and no dinner was mentioned. Maybe on the weekend as posters have said, they will celebrate further & the kids will be better- thank you antibiotics! But it's Kate's day to be served to order in bed and pampered so idk...

But last year she had the cake made and asked for a frog on it (Aaden's request). I have never seen this particular 'Gosselin traditional cake' before and I know she hasn't made it for the tups because she let's us know on TV..maybe for the twins in later years? Yeah, traditions for Kate are anything she does more than once or starts a new one with every activity. I hope she re-thinks the chilly pool tradition.

She sure tweets everything, from dry ingredients, to doll's wardrobes, to awesomeish meals...and embarrassing moments for the kids to private texts to her rising and retiring.

Michelle said...

Does she understand the word "tradition"? Why is swimming in the pool a birthday tradition? We've seen all of their prior birthday parties and only 1 involved the pool. Now it's a tradition? How is that cake a tradition? We've never seen her make a cake for the tups prior birthdays but now it's a tradition? Bald Head Island was another tradition. Because they went there twice on TLC's dime it's a tradition?

She needs to start grifting for a dictionary.

Re: Willow Smith

If she's worried about being famous, maybe she wouldn't be recognized 'at the bookstore' if her head wasn't shaved with pink dye sitting on top. I agree she seems spoiled and entitled but her mom really didn't give her a chance to say all that much. I'm not too keen on this family. I hear Willow is going to star in an all-black adaptation of "Annie" She does have talent and self-confidence, though, I guess.

I remember Jayden's sassy interview with David Letterman awhile back. That kid needs a spanking. The kids seem like mini- Will and Jada's who know exactly what they are doing. They are mature beyond their years but not in a good way. I still think they should be protected but you can't protect a kid who doesn't want to be protected.

They just don't have the kind of helplessness and ignorance to what they are getting into that so many other child actors have had. They grew up around this, everyone around them is rich and famous, they know exactly what they are doing. They also strike me as incredibly bright.

Although the good thing is it's not like Will and Jada need them to make money. They have oodles of it even without them. It removes that dangerous element that in my opinion was the ROOT behind all the exploitation Kate did to her kids. But you can never have enough fame I guess.

LOL tradition for Kate. I actually think this is a malaprop for her! She seems to think the definition of tradition is something special that I am doing just in general. No, Kate, that's just something special.

The teeny tiny birthday cake is a joke, and the enduring, cute aspect of it escapes me. Children enjoy blowing out their birthday candles, and she musters up one candle for all eight of them? The work and effort she puts into her own looks and life are expensive & lavish, and this is what she does for the 8 tups on their 8th birthday? This reminds me of the effort she put into dressing her boys for the spring pictures. NONE. They had on oversized winter sweater vests, with long sleeved shirts, while the girls and Kate had on pretty spring outfits all done-up in an appropriate spring color scheme.

Dwindle said: Kate missed a big opportunity there with Nadya.
_________________
I disagree with this. Everyone has TRIED to help Nayda. Her parents for years, Oprah, Suze Orman (spent 120 hrs. pouring over every check she has ever written since the 8 kids were born and came up with a plan for Nayda), Dr. Drew, Dr. Phil, social workers, Gloria Allred, attorney, etc. They all tried to help her.

If Kate stepped forward to help her, it would be seen for what it truly was...fame and attention for Kate. Even you said that it would start Kate's fame ball rolling again. And I don't think Kate should ever leave her kids for a month to help anyone. I don't think Kate should leave her kids for a week to help anyone. If someone did organize Nayda's home, it would not stay that way for long. The problem is much deeper than that. Kate would be a fool to associate herself with Nadya. It will never happen.

Per Ziggy, Kate Sheeple Peggy Scot on cruise:

This is Peggy:  [UPDATED] Ziggy asked me to add my thoughts since I was signed up for the cruise. I was notified by telephone by one of the travel agents, Charlene. She was very nice. She explained my options. I could have continued with the  cruise, but, I really didn't want to be on that huge ship without any companions. Then she explained about the refund (credit on my credit card) for my deposit and that my credit card would not be charged for the rest of the fee. We went over a few more details. She made it clear that Kate & they felt very badly that it hadn't worked out. I sent the agency an e-mail confirming our conversation. They replied very promptly and professionally.

I neither need nor want crocodile tears of feigned sympathy from haters. They've made it clear that they have nothing but hostile feelings for Kate and her supporters. They're just trying to use the people who signed up for the cruise to hurt Kate just as they try to use the kids. As for steelergirl's bizarre ideas as to how the cancellation should have been handled, I would have been very unhappy if I'd found out about it online with the rest of the world instead of being privately notified before the news was released to the world as I was.

Of course, I'm disappointed. I still hope to meet Kate someday. However, as I said in my e-mail I have no complaints.  I have only positive feelings either about Kate as well as anyone at the travel agency. I wouldn't hesitate to deal with either Kate or the agency again.

Willow is only twelve and has been forced into the public eye and forced to perform since birth. Not to mention she's never gone to school. She seems as much a possible tragedy, caused by bad parenting, as the Gosselin kids.

Kate will always be sad as the kids grow up because she is not getting the attention for having those cute little toddlers anymore. It's just how she is and it is all about her. This saga will just get uglier as the years roll past.

Ex Nuse said...

The swimming birthday tradition seems similar to Kate's thought process during theAustralia jump. she haddock an idea in her head that she blows up to enormous proportions just to prove some imaginary point.

When it came time to jump, if she really felt the fear that she claimed, it would have been a better lesson to her kids to respect their own instincts and take a pass. instead, she crumpled hysterically to the ground and probably scared them. Similarly, when the kids are in various stages of illness and the weather is chilly, it would be a better lesson that some things aren't worth the risk.

If she would just stop trying so had to prove something that no one else on the planet cares about, she wouldn't be so soundly and universally disliked.  The cake was fine--just ridiculously small. And how hard would it have been to use the extra batter and give each kid their own cupcakes with 8 candles to blow out?

So, with the cancellation of the cruise, looks like a pretty empty calendar stretching for months. I haven't ruled out DWTS, because they might want the drama. Without the distractions that allegedly kept her from winning, as she predicted, she can prove us all wrong and show the entertainment world that she can be a good sport and low maintenance. Most likely, it would be the last nail that she puts in her own coffin.

Kate's Going Down said...

Kate has always used a different dictionary than the rest of the world.

"Masterminding" to her means bossing people around.

"Organizing" means expecting others to do it for her.

"Tradition" means "we did it once" (which is, of course, the opposite of a tradition).

"Bad editing" means "they left the parts in I wanted them to take out."

"I AM TRYING TO _______ (fill in the blank)" means "I want to ruin everyone's good time."

I'm sure I'm forgetting many more.

Kate's Going Down said...

"You don't know how to help me" means "you aren't doing what I want you to do" or more specifically, "you aren't paying for this for me."

"It's warm and sunny" means "I want to throw the kids in the pool again today, whether it's warm or not."

Whatever reality she wants to live in at the time is what she REALLY means. The fact that she's able to confuse people around her is just icing on the cake for her.

By the way, does anyone remember how she used to constantly harp on Jon to ASK HER IF SHE NEEDS HELP. "Ask me, 'HONEY, DO YOU NEED HELP?'" She was CONSTANTLY demanding that he say that.

Problem with that was two-fold: as an adult, if you need help, you need to open your mouth and say so, not wait for someone to ask you. Secondly, most of the time JON was too busy doing what she ordered him to do to even be able to constantly ask her if she needed help.

She was a champ at LOOKING flustered and busy, but if you really observed what she was doing, you could see it was a lot of nothing. Meanwhile, Jon the Pack Mule was lugging equipment into the van and putting up shelves in the garage and watching the kids and fetching the RIGHT OUTFITS all while being yelled at by Her Highness.

I don't know how he didn't totally flip out on her, I really don't.

KAT: It's the same as sticking your fingers in your ears and shouting "LA LA LA LA I CAN'T HEAR ANYTHING!"

It's like that picture of monkeys with eyes covered, ears covered (except the mouth covered doesn't apply to her unfortunately). She thinks maybe if she just lives in her own little delusional world (cue music): ALL HER DREAMS WILL COME TRUE!

Meanwhile, you can't change reality through wishful thinking or sticking your head in the sand. The reality is that she has no talent, is not going to get a job in TV ever again, is living on savings, will run out of money, is not bonded to her kids and will have an increasingly contentious relationship with them as they get older and she gets more frustrated in her attempts to control every little thing.

THAT is the reality. It's not pretty. And she is 100% complicit in creating this reality.

She needs to downsize that house, stop pretending she's a celebrity (expensive hair trips to NY, etc), and figure out what she's going to do for income once the savings runs out. Really she needs to figure that out and start doing it BEFORE the savings run out, but I doubt she will. It's not just raising kids: she's got the rest of her life to think about. She's 37. If she hopes to live to a ripe old age (and she will, evil never dies), then she's going to be eating cat food in an efficiency apartment if she's LUCKY.

And she can forget about a sugar daddy. She's not young. She's not hot (despite what she might think). She has a horrible personality. AND she has eight kids (note they are last on the list, not first like how she puts it). No wealthy man is going to marry her. Some rich guy looking for a trophy wife tends to look for someone in their 20s with no kids. And probably much, much nicer than Kate.

I think we can well and truly stick a fork in her now. She will not be on DWTS All-Stars or CA. No way. What kind of draw would she provide?

Re DWTS All Stars (if it comes to pass), I have always believed that Kate had a "deal" that guaranteed her a certain amount of time on the show. If she made it past that on merit, fine, but I think she was given a minimum of four weeks (she left on week five). Certainly, based on her performance vis-a-vis her competitors that season, she should have been gone on week one. Buzz Aldrin danced circles around her.

If this is an all-stars season that brings back the best of those who didn't win, obviously, she shouldn't be asked at all. But if by some chance she is, I hope they will not cut her a special "Kate" deal like last time. And I hope they pay her the same as everyone else (last time around, it was rumored she was making at least twice as much per episodes as the other contestants).

Wonder when Kate will get around to pulling the cruise off her own site. And speaking of the site, I think it is obvious now that this is about as scattershot an effort as everything else she does. If she didn't have to do a CC blog once a week, she wouldn't have added anything at all there since her chicken stir fry almost two weeks ago. You want to talk "fail," Kate? Take a look at your web site. It's the ONLY thing you've got going at the moment, and it is pathetic.

Re Peggy Scot, doesn't sound like she heard directly from Kate, now does it? So much for that storyline. Surprised she doesn't care to travel with her good buddy CJ.

A return to her former life is the reason Kate gets out of bed in the morning, everything else is a distraction. She is not living in the moment, she is looking for the next, better moment. Her pursuit of celebrity is all that counts, and failure is not an option, she will prove us wrong!

The pic they used of Kate is so smug and unflattering. She just needs to try a new gig. Maybe one that requires real work. I don't see her on DWTS ever again. I know I'd never watch her again on anything. Radar gives the reason for the cancellation as low numbers. Doesn't say anything about Kate having another reason. How long can she possibly keep up this lavish lifestyle with no "real job?" Exploiting your kids does not a job make.

I continue to believe that if this thing would have been handled more professionally, if the agent in charge had not acted as she did, and if one sheeple hadn't gotten involved in a vetting process outing potential cruisers, the response would have been more favorable. Perhaps not enough to get the numbers they desired, but more interest may have been shown. On the surface, it was shady from the get-go, with sketchy information being given as far as the shore excursions, the charity dinner, extra expenses, and so forth. When you ask a person in charge direct questions and they can't provide an answer, you know something is not as it should be.

I bet, when Kate e-mailed, twittered or talked to those 30 fans about the cancel cruise, she told them not to twitter or talk about it either. Cause, 30 people have not mentioned the canceled cruise. And neither has Kate so far. Kate has no honor.

I felt as long as this cruise was still on the table Kate could still consider herself a celeb. I even half-way expected to see her popping up on talk/entertainment shows to promote it. Perhaps that could have led to a fill-in hosting position on the View, from there she could have picked up momentum and the sky's the limit. Now that the cruise is kaput, I'm beginning to believe it's really the end for Kate! Unless the mystery package she kissed and dropped in the mail leads to something... she is done!

Tweet-le...158 said, This is what keeps con men working. I think the fans who actually shelled out money for the cruise are a special kind of gullible.

Yes, Tweet, you're right. Some of them are a sweet, very naive kind of gullible, and trusting to the nth degree. They don't learn from an experience such as this. Many times this type of person will go through life without a care in the world, believing what they want to believe, and they are happy. If they get kicked in the rear end along the way, then so be it. All is still right with the world.

The only problem with this type of personality is that lessons aren't learned. Mistakes are made, but they keep on making the same ones over and over again, secure in the belief that if they fall, someone will be there to pick them up. They are repeat offenders. These people, sadly, are living advertisements for the con artists, and they don't even know it.

I would guess there are several reasons why the cruise was cancelled...Alice Travel, pricing, vetting, etc, but more than that, I think there just aren't enough people interested in Kate Gosselin. She is one toxic dump.
There is just something so fundamentally WRONG and CREEPY about paying to 'watch a mom and her kids romp on the beach'. That just gives me the willies.

Kate's putting her bday pics on her website soon. Whoever the poster was that said she is living her life in episodes hit the nail on the head. She is never going to give up. I think she *honestly* thought the show would last forever.

For those of you that were fans of this show from the beginning (I thankfully wasn't, I jumped on board when the divorce hit the fan), what was THE defining moment that made you said THIS SHOW IS WRONG? what did it for you?

So much for a private birthday, first of their lives. Also guess that means birthday is over and time to start Mother's Day festivities.

Is Kate going to claim that this ROL article is all lies, like she has with their other articles about her.

I'm curious to see if when she posts the birthday pictures on her website, if she will also take down the link to the cruise.

She may have gotten those phone numbers and email addresses from Alice Travel, but it's obvious it was the travel agency who first contacted those fans who were cruising with her. I seriously doubt she has personally contacted anyone, except for that person who twitted her. Proves beyond a doubt she does not care about those fans. They aren't going to say anything because they will look foolish. BTW, BM has not broached the topic either. And my posting from Ziggy proves the agency was contacting the cruisers. You are right, anger issues, Kate has no honor. She is acting like the cruise never happened. Well, she sure used her fans to buy expensive tickets to get herself and Steve a free vacay. Those fans should be ashamed for being billked by a multimillionaire.

Did you know that you're a "she-ro" for many women that admire your tenacity to overcome adversity?

______________ ‏

So Kate is a she-ro, the wing beneath their wings...everything they would like to be, and they can fly higher than an eagle because of her? She is the one with all the strength, everything they wish they could be (apology to Bette Midler)!

Lovely thought, but funny as heck when you think of the sheeple singing in unison!

Any word on meet and greet now that the cruise is canceled? Is that young man still working on getting everyone together, or has that pretty much fizzled out?

Birthday pics and blog coming later on my website... http://t.co/J4Q4wUXz(preview) I'll tweet you as soon as they are posted... :) Can't wait!

She just can't give them any privacy, can she? I bet we even see the prom pictures in a few years.

aggiemom, 183...for me it was a lot of moments of discomfort.

Gumgate revealed her ability to be MEAN to little ones in distress. Her disrespect to Jon embarrassed me for him. But, I did continue to watch.

Until -- the divorce. After that, I relied on Administrator's recaps and some Youtube clips.

I didn't feel right about being included in the pain of a family. I came back to watch the last two RV episodes.

A small moment that "says it all" -- Kate, in a snit, dragging the upright vacuum cleaner across some landscaping rocks. That behavior encapsulates her disrespect, rudeness, anger and inability to see herself as others see her.

@Kateplusmy8 yay! I can't wait to see those little 8 year olds. I wish your show was on so I could experience their big day too!! Luv-u+8!

Why do these people feel that they are entitled to be in these kids' lives and to "experience their big day?" I don't get it. I just don't get it.

WOW Kate! Well done! You managed to successfully evade the hoards of paps skulking through the woods and flying over your pool in a helicopter trying to get pictures of the sextuplets' magical 8th "birthday party." Did you hire extra security? That would have been a lot of responsibility to put on Steve. Did you enlist the twins to help? After all, they are 11 and it's time they start earning their keep.

Oh wait! You, the ever diligent super mom did it all by yourself! Go ahead, pat yourself on the back. You deserve it.

LOL!!! Damn, remind me not to have a mouthful of coffee when I read your posts! My keys are sticky now.

But yes, as awkward as he was, Buzz at least gave it a gallant effort. Kate was like a department store mannequin. Poor Tony.

aggiemom -- I watched most of the first 3 seasons. I always thought something was off about KK, but the kids were adorable, and, after a while I was rooting for Jon to haul off and pop her one (normally I don't condone violence of any kind, let alone a man hitting a woman, but I would make an exception in this case :>) ). It was an accumulation of things -- her freakout during the pumpkin carving, gumgate, Joelgate, Collingate, scapegoating Mady, her general contempt for anyone not named Kate Gosselin. I stopped watching after that sham of a vow renewal and have relied on the recaps and comments here and GWOP to keep up with what's going on.

She-RA. She-RA. C'mon Kate. The "o" key isn't remotely near the "a" key - even on the iPhone. Autocorrect doesn't come up with she-ro. Or did Siri not understand you?

My child, now in her 30', was a HUGE She-Ra Princess of Power fan, point in time where she "was" She-Ra, or so she would have us believe.

Flight of the Kiwi said...

My bad - apparently a sheeple made the she-ro tweet. Sigh, so hard to keep up sometimes :( Perhaps I should find the time to check-in more often...oh well. I just hate when She-Ra is disrespected ;)

Why does she find it so exciting to post pictures of her kids on her website for strangers to look at it. She gets truly excited and loves doing putting her kids pictures out there. I don't get it.

Great question that I think most of us can answer with pinpoint accuracy.
For me, I found the show in year one of J&K+8 just channel surfing. When J&K did a couch interview it made me curious to find out where they were from; the accent sounded Philly/NJ? Being that I'm from Philly, I Google them right away and saw that they were from the Reading/Berks region, so not that far away.
Well, even waaaaay back then, people were scratching their heads-- mostly moms.
"How can Kate afford to dress all 8 kids in Gymboree clothing when I have only 2 and can't afford it?" "Not even at a consignment shop!"
"How can J&K afford to take 8 kids to zoos/Sesame Place/Dutch wonderland etc... when we can only choose one a year for our 3 kids?"
"Does anyone else notice how much they highlight Juicy Juice? Do you think it's free for product placement?"
"Did you see Jon do a State Farm commercial on the show? How phoney!"

So, I was on to their grifting from the get-go and of course, it only went from freebies, product placement, using the kids to advertise clothing and toys and fun destination places, to cross-promotions that made no sense as to what that has anything to do with raising 8 kids.
The constant in all of this was Kate and she just became more fame-driven-at-any-cost than anyone could ever imagine.

@EmeraldCityJazz @grandmasf @kateplusmy8 yall just dig up crazy stuff. who really cares if she got speeding tickets.

Probably another person who she may have injured if she crashed by going 20 miles per hour over the speed limit. Probably the family of the other person she may have killed. Probably her own children, if they were injured (or worse) who were with her when she was speeding. Probably herself if she had to live with the guilt for the rest of her life.

It must be nice to go through life wearing rose-colored glasses, thinking that nothing matters, and nobody should care about something as trivial as speeding tickets, but at some point, reality is going to hit and the piper is just going to have to be paid.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Yeah really. This woman would care if it were her child injured or killed by a driver going 88 mph!!! Many people have been killed at much lower speeds. One ticket I don't care. Four? You bet I do. I'm sure like me many people here sadly have lost people they love in car accidents. It happens and it's real and speeding is not "no big deal".
