Kate: 'It's a shame that Tony has been left only with a negative impression of our time together'

Kate's latest feud is with her former dance stomping-around partner

Tony Dovolani, Patron Saint of Dance Teachers
On Friday when CNN's Anderson Cooper asked if he was still traumatized by watching Kate Gosselin dance, Tony Dovolani replied: "Anderson, did you just call it dance? We didn't dance!" When asked if he needed a vacation after that, Tony said: "There was a lot of therapy involved."

Today, Kate posted an oh-so-serious response on Coupon Cabin. Said Kate: "I think it is a shame that Tony has been left only with a negative impression of our time together, especially after we spent SO many hours, days, nights and weeks working hard together doing our best in the competition. To Anderson Cooper I’d like to say this: I’d love the opportunity to be a front row spectator for your first dance as a competitor on the next season of Dancing With The Stars. C’mon , you know you’re hoping for a spot! I can only imagine how your view of the subject may change 180 degrees, not 360 degrees, if you are given the opportunity to cha cha cha! Hey, Anderson, if it does happen for you, what do you say I give you some dancing pointers over pizza sometime?"

Uh, I don't think Kate's history with pizza bodes well for that meeting.

We usually had soda around the house when I was growing up, but it was rarely offered as the first choice beverage with meals, except for the occasional hamburger or hot dog meal. Mom and Dad drank coffee -- hot or iced -- and Dad drank iced tea in summer. I usually had milk until I was deemed old enough for tea, then sometimes I'd drink iced tea for dinner. I still drink a lot of tea. Never acquired the taste for coffee. I like my tea plain -- no sweetener, no lemon, but I wouldn't say "no" to a sprig of fresh mint. I remember those Swanson TV dinners, too. We didn't have them often, but Mom usually kept a few in the freezer for emergencies. My favorite was the fried chicken, with corn and those horrible mashed potatoes.

I'm really enjoying learning about the various Passover dishes and customs. Most of my Jewish friends haven't been observant, so I haven't had much chance to learn first-hand about the practices. I love that we're such a diverse group here, and can share our customs and beliefs.

I can't believe KK served those kids eggs again! Yes, they are good for you, but there's such a thing as too much of a good thing. By the time Easter rolls around, they are going to be so sick of eggs they won't want any Easter eggs. Although, come to think of it, maybe that's KK's point, so she can avoid the "work" and "mess" of dyeing eggs.

With 6 services to sing for over the next 3 1/2 days, I'm not going to be around much, so I'll wish you all a Happy Easter, Happy Passover, Happy Spring now. Enjoy your families and celebrations.

This morning, Kate tweeted:

@andrew14ad today we had English muffin breakfast sandwiches with EGG, bacon and cheese! Ala 'M(ommy)cdonalds! :) 22 minutes ago

If that's not proof she reads here and is thumbing her nose at us, I don't know what is! Cannot be coincidence...

Too funny!

This is why I don't think we should do a Kate blackout. I LOVE toying with her.

I bet she's sitting on her leather couch on her Italian tile...thinking "Wow! I showed them, didn't I!"

Uh huh. You just keep thinking that, Kate.

Even Milo suggested she 'give back' and give extra eggs to others, and also to re-watch the Giving Back episode IIRC..if she went food shopping as tweeted, why not buy something as a change from eggs? You do get tired of things after a no of days eating them.Plenty of options for breakfast for kids.

Not a Sheeple, no worries. Someone emailed me that twitter is a-buzz attacking this blog as cowards for not tweeting Kate directly.

I went to Kate's book signing, approached her to her face not three feet away, and asked her questions about Murt's child labor law proposals until Steve carted me away. I think I've proven I'm no coward. I do none think that it is appropriate to stalk and harass Kate on Twitter and I make no apologies for that. That's others' choice if they want to tweet her, but cowardly really has nothing to do with it.

This is my first time posting but I read here lots. Long story but my MIL is a narcissist which is why I like reading here. She reminds me of Kate. The worse thing you can ever do to a narcissist to get back at them is to totally ignore them. They hate that. I can also tell you from experience they like causing fights and getting digs in at people to bug them. That's fun for them. But to ignore them just drives them nuts. They can't take it. It's the best way to get back at them.

Tell it! The haterz who are on the feed 24/7 need to step back and let it die. It's more about haterz vs sheeple at this point. I've never been a sheeple and did tweet to Kate - but why bother when anything posted with any intelligence on Twitter is drowned out by both sides. Being a coward isn't even in the mix - it has nothing to do with bravery LOL! Why mock this site? I thought we were all on the same side - call Kate to account for her continued exploitation of her kids ... and her lies.

Working from home today. Admin never showed up with Mickey D's so I made pancakes with blueberries and pecans. So delish.

I have a lot of interests, from politics to traveling to hiking to this whole mess and I love talking with people with the same interests. But I'm just not one who wants to take it to the next level and say, write a letter to a politician or make a phone call, or join a traveling or hiking club. I just don't have a need to emerse myself THAT fully in my interests. Same goes with tweeting Kate, I don't have a need to. And not to mention, I don't think it's appropriate to harass her or helpful by giving the narcissist more attention. There are valid reasons not to tweet her, the other sides have their reasons. And I'm happy to agree to disagree without the need to harass the other side about their choices. Why they can't respect the choice not to tweet Kate the same as I respect their choice I have no idea. Just like when my neighbor sends off their weekly letter to their state representative about whatever thing they are upset about, that's their right and I don't care. Just not something I would do.

-----------------------------------

I personally take offense to the majority of your comments here.

As someone that does use Twitter as a public forum to post my opinion about Kate and her exploitation of her children, as well as her lies, I am offended by your lumping anyone that tweets about Kate as "the lowest of the low."

Yes, I question whether you are a "sheeple" in disguise. Is "not a sheeple" your usual posting name? Why not own your opinion under your usual name that you use to post here? I don't believe you. Why don't you tell us the name you usually post with? I personally think you are a sheeple trying to make waves. (Also referring to us as "haters" didn't help.) That's my opinion and your "assurance" that you're not means nothing to me.

By the way, if you don't use the same name all the time to post here then you are breaking rule #1 of this blog. As a poster here that respects this blog so much I would think you would respect the rules.

I enjoy posting here and reading the opinions of like-minded non-fans (not that I agree with every comment here.) I also enjoy the posts by Admin. I respect her and her blog even if I don't agree with every single thing on it.

And yes, I tweet about Kate. I don't attack her fans, although I may interact with them at times. Some of them I am friendly with. Most of them I ignore unless tweet to/about me, and most times I ignore them anyway. I try to be as respectful as I can to others. I have no respect for most of her fans, but since they don't concern me I try my best to ignore them.

As for Kate, I have NO respect for her. I don't however, use foul language when tweeting to/about her.

You stated that tweeting results in the troubles we find ourselves dealing with. The fact that I tweet to/about Kate, a public figure, that sold the lives of herself and her children for public consumption, does not make it okay for any of her fans to stalk me or try to expose my personal/private information.

No, I don't agree with attacking fans that tweet Kate, or using foul language.

So, yes, I take offense to your comments here because you are lumping all non-fans that use tweet about Kate all together.

I don't agree with everything that is tweeted to/about Kate or her fans. I find a lot of it offensive. But just like we all post here and interact with each other we don't have to agree with everything that is said or done on this blog. The same holds true for Twitter.

Personally I view this blog and Twitter as the same. Both are public forums that I use to state my opinion. The only difference I see is I'm limited to 140 characters on Twitter.

I also know of other people that post on this blog and tweet about Kate and they are respectful and have manners. I take offense on their behalf too.

If the non-fans would step away, or tweet less, the feed would die down and tweets to Kate would carry more weight.

Yes. It's too bad. It's that kind of stuff that's keeping Kate alive, especially on twitter.

I wish both sides would just back off. Attacking each other does nothing to promote either side's view, and only causes people who don't know much about the situation to feel sympathy for Kate, instead of seeing the parental alienation, the lying, the monumental grifting, the horrendous child exploitation.

I think that Phillychitchat guy was all set to have some fun, but the hater vs sheeple firestorm scared him off. That could have been interesting. :)

I think he'll still come out with it eventually, but maybe it will be in subtle little things. Like saying the other day that Jon has been doing a lot of charity work lately. Not a word about Kate's charity work.

Best thing the guy can do....ignore Kate completely while saying positive things about Jon. Gonna send Kate right over the edge.

I remember the jiffy pop never worked for us. Every time we tried it, we always managed to burn it! LOL

My dad is a Dentist, so no soda or sweets in our house. It was milk, OJ and water, which was fine with me. We were allowed tea on Sunday after church. We would go to the bakery and pick out a danish/donut then have a cup of hot tea with it.

Happy Spring Everyone! Enjoy your weekend

SG I can't speak for everyone but my personal feeling is I don't care if people tweet Kate as long as they are respectful about it. When I think about the haters that go too far I don't lump you in there. If there is a harassment that is another matter, and that's what I've taken issue with in the past.

I didn't take Not a Sheeple's comment to mean ANYONE who tweets Kate is the lowest of the low, although I can't remember exactly what was said--I took it as just the ones who are harassing her as the lowest of the low. I've actually seen very respectful people tweet Kate and it's been eye-opening because it sometimes will illicit some interesting responses from Kate. I thought that back and forth between Kate and someone else when Kate was talking about not affording movies was extremely eye opening into what Kate is thinking--and the person she was engaging with was always pretty respectful if I recall. You know the one where Kate was saying you don't HAVE to go to the movies to have a great childhood (well you don't hAVE to go to Vegas either to have a mommy break, but that's another matter)

Whoopie in a pissed off manner, said that it was the same case with that other one with the 8 kids (Kate Gosselin)- and that they both will not get jobs for the same reasons.

Whoopie added that both these women knew what they were getting into by having such large families.

The funny thing is that, no one on the panel defended, supported or simpathized with Nadia or Kate (including Sherri & Elisabeth).

Gee... I thought they were Kate's friends?

Very true, it did start here. Maybe the tweeties should take their issues up with the person who posted those "sediments" and not with this whole site as a whole, because Lord knows just because ONE person says something here doesn't mean we all feel exactly the same way. Actually, that's pretty rare.

That's one thing I find annoying actually is that one person will say something then someone else will chime in and say "you guys" are ridiculous for thinking that. Um, I'm not "you guys."

For instance yesterday some people were posting inside info about the school schedule even though I don't know how many times I've told the locals not to do that. (Frankly, I'm tired of asking people not to do that and being ignored....) Then someone chimes in that we're all stalkers because we're seeking out the kids' schedules. Actually, I hate when people do that and if you look, that was all swiffered. One opinion is not necessarily representative of everyone.

Admin said...Not a Sheeple, no worries. Someone emailed me that twitter is a-buzz attacking this blog as cowards for not tweeting Kate directly.

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$

It's nothing new. When they get bored attacking Kate and the sheeple, they look to this blog for the new topic of conversation. Same old, same old attacks. What's really funny is they say that they never read the blog, but somehow they always know what is being talked about, who is doing the posting, which posters are actually sheeple posing as haters, etc. If they don't read here, then how do they know this?

Their contention is that if Twitter goes dark, then this blog would have nothing to talk about. It's turn-about -- they go to this blog for news on the Gosselin front, but then bash the blog and the posters!

Posters here are not cowards because they will not engage Kate directly, or fight the sheeple. Posters here are intelligent and funny and can carry on discussions (or debates) about topics that many of the haters on Twitter would have to google first in order to carry on any type of conversation.

What it comes down to is decency. If you have to make your point by attacking and bullying others with vulgar language and insinuations that border on libel, then you've really sunk to the lowest. Whatever point you are trying to make gets lost in the muck. Most people find that disgusting and will not participate in that kind of behavior. It's a matter of personal choice. If that's what fills their days with satisfaction, then more power to them. They're free to do so.

Admin is right. Cowardly has nothing to do with it. In fact, it would be easy to tweet Kate directly and vent. It wouldn't be difficult to go off on sheeple, really letting them have it. Anyone could do it. However, it takes restraint, manners and good judgment NOT to do those things.

What I don't understand is how some of them can make it their life's work. When I sometimes read over there, no matter what time of the day or night, it always seems to be the same regulars on there. Don't they sleep? Don't they eat? Don't they care for their homes and families? Has this become their all-consuming mission? If so, WHY? I must admit, though, that I'm fascinated in the psychology behind all of this.

In fact I couldnt tell you the last time I actually spoke a swear word. Is it the fact that I tweet directly to Kate? Or to sheep? Just like Schmecky said, I see no difference in saying it to her/them in a blog or saying it on twitter. There are times that yes, some of the things I say are pretty mean but Ive read comments on here that say the exact same thing, just in a different way. I dont think it makes a difference in which forum or what way its said. As far as the "coward" thing, I think that was only brought up because of the judgement that is passed here towards twitter haters for no reason. We are the same as you, we tweet about Kate and the horrible things she does and also tweet each other about our own families, recipes, and other world events. Im just asking that "haters" not hate on each other, especially when we dont even know each other. And once again, fabulous job Admin!

There's a huge difference. You're speaking to Kate directly and she is sure to see it until she blocks you. Even if she doesn't block you you can tweet someone else's name on the tweet as well and she will still see it.

This blog doesn't have a direct line to Kate. If Kate wants to see what is written here she has to type realitytvkids.com into her browser, come here and look herself. The difference is Kate has the choice. I'm leaving the choice up to Kate whether she wants to see what is being said. I am not forcing her to see it. Sort of like throwing mud in someone's face without them getting a chance to put their hands up, or playing in a pile of mud and that person can come over and have some fun IF they want to. Can you see the HUGE difference? The power of choice whether to engage.

But all that said, it's your choice to tweet her and I won't try to stop you.

On another note, I LOVE eggs but I'm getting nauseous hearing about these egg things every morning.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

SG yes and some adults have developed enzymes to digest milk (is it lactaid?), particularly northern Europeans. I don't remember the evolutionary theories why that happened, but if some humans weren't meant to drink milk than why did we develop the enzymes to digest it well past babyhood? I'm well aware most of the world is lactose intolerant, but a good faction isn't.

If humans weren't meant to drink milk we would all be lactose intolerant. Clearly for whatever reason some areas of the world have developed the enzyme for a reason.

Very interesting.
I watched Nadya's interview with Matt Lauer this morning and she looked tired and has aged. It was intersting to note that the fully tipped manicure was gone, the fake lashes, gone too. She looked like a tired mom, not like a glamazon who wants to project a Hollywood image.
She's been slammed for that before (mani, pedi, full on make-up and hair, personal trainer, surgery....).
Anyway, to draw the comparisons back to Kate again, Nadya parroted many of Kate's lines:
"I wanted just one more"
"I have to work media gigs with my celebrity to have income" (paraphrasing here)
"My kids deserve the best" (her one boy deserves to have his cleft lip corrected).

It was uncanny.

===================

If Kate tweets that the kids are on spring break, or home from school (Easter) or in a school play, then no comment should be made about it because someone might check the schedule to see when the actual event is taking place...details if she's really attending, leaving the kids alone, etc, and then this starts a whole string of "stalking" posts?

It's kind of a fine line, being able to know what responses to something Kate has tweeted about are off limits.

Kate actually blocked me when I first asked her a question. I was respectful. She didn't like it. She has since stated that she knows who I am. For her to remember me almost a year later leads me to believe she CHOOSES to search KATEPLUSMY8 in Twitter and read the tweets that are blocked. If she didn't want to read the blocked tweets she would just go to her mentions page and she would only see those that are not blocked.

So Kate searching Kateplusmy8 on her iphone is the same as typing in realitytvkids.com in her browser. She's LOOKING for the comments.

If you don't like it, then imagine how some of the fans feel, particularly new ones, who are accused of being pedophiles, lesbians, trailer trash...

There was one comment about Kate being a slut, having her tonsils out on her 21st birthday and then getting a BJ from her doctor.

Have you ever seen anything like that on here? Didn't think so. And THAT'S the difference.

Admin,
Yes, Kate will see that one first tweet to her before she blocks. She will not see any others no matter who you include. She will see tweets from those she hasn't blocked that tweet to those she has blocked. It's her choice to click on the "reply to" and view the conversation.

Yes, I have seen vile tweets from fans and non-fans alike. I've seen it get very ugly.

Thank you to those of you that don't include me in that.

Pulling The Wool, You are absolutely right. I respect the fact that you guys have wonderful conversations and INSINUATE things Kate does with Steve without using crass language. I enjoy reading the comments and opinions you guys have about the things she is doing with her life. Like I said, yes I have said some pretty mean things to Kate. Yes I have replied back to sheeple when they make insane comments. But I also have good conversations and debates with haters AND sheeple alike. I think the point I keep trying to get out is we may disagree on the ways we post, and the words we say but how is anyone any better by calling haters names? All Im saying is while you may not agree with SOME of the things I tweet, why not get to know me and some of my non "vile" opinions? I can say intelligent and non curse filled comments too! And I guess a good example would be SM herself. She gets along just fine with the twitter haters even though she may not agree with some of the things said. JMO, again not trying to insult or start anything.

Well, it's like Sherri on the View supported Team kate, when Kate was on DWTS, went out of her way for Kate. Kate has not mentioned or supported her so-call BFF, maybe that's why when Whoopie said that, that Sherri did not defend Kate. Kate might be mad at Sherri for not having Kate as co-host , when Sherri is not there and not inviting Kate to sit in the audience at DWTS.

You can't get any more a-list than Richard Branson. Eat your heart out Kate. I truly think that Jon is going to end up being the one that people are going to admire in the end. It is reported that he is looking into associating himself with the Ronald MacDonald House charity.

Listen Jon goes to events to network, possibly for the company he works for. Branson is a real networking op, cause Branson has companies everywhere, to get a contract with him, means Jon's company makes money. Good move Jon, and many more.
Unlike Kate who is only after Fame, attention and grifting. Kate's networking is for the ones I just said. Jon is there for business, Kate is there for attention, grifting etc.

I, too, saw Nadya on the Today Show. She did not look at all ready for her "close-up." She looked sad and tired. But, I agree, some of her statements did sound just like Kate's. All this talk of her kids deserving "the best." What does that mean? Isn't food, shelter, clothing, and a loving parent enough for all of them? Makes those of us who didn't make a wealthy living sound "mediocre" don't they? I probably need a break from all these people having children for the attention they bring them. Sad for the children. We all want the "best" for our families, too, but not sure that what we consider the "best" is what these attention grabbing women are talking about.

Happy Easter to all!

All this egg talk reminds me of that scene in Cool Hand Luke where he is eating all those hard boiled eggs. Don't "Fluffy Belgium Waffles" have eggs in them? Every good parent wants the best for their children, and believe their children deserve the best. They just realise that best doesn't equal the most material goods, trips to Disney, and money. The best is often saying no to them when they want things. Or realising that while they may ask for material goods what they really want is your time and undivided attention.

SG said...

I too would love to see Jon on DWTS or The Apprentice. I have never been against Jon remaining on TV. Kate either for that matter. As long as their children are left out of it.

I don't think Jon being on TV means he's changed his mind about leading a "private" life. (Although I do think he has a right to change his mind... again, as long as the children are left out of it.) I think you can definitely have a TV career without giving up your "private" life. How many actors or TV personalities have cameras in their homes? (Aside from reality TV stars, of course.) People like Anderson Cooper and Kelly Ripa are TV personalities, have shows, even discuss a little about their personal lives, yet still LIVE a private life.

It is possible to do TV interviews, etc and still keep your private life private.

I hope we see great things for Jon in the future!

SG said...

I didn't hear Nadya's comments about "the best" so I don't know how she meant them, but I think we all want the best for our children and there is nothing wrong with saying so. I think it's totally different to say that your children deserve everything "on a golden platter."

I have replied back to sheeple when they make insane comments

----

Some sheeple comments are more than insane. They are ludicrous, but I think perhaps that's because their intelligence level is such that they have none. They are incapable of logical thinking. They really are poor souls, and you can tell that by some of their tweets. That doesn't give anyone license to hurl libelous insults at them for being fans. Sometimes I wonder how they get through life, having to ask Kate how to make a salad, what to do with a child who has a fever, how to pack a suitcase. These are the ones be pitied, not squashed like an insect!

I have a problem with the language and crude comments hurled directly at Kate. Nobody deserves to be called the "C" word in every tweet, with the F bomb sprinkled in there for good measure. Not even Kate. And no, I am not a sheeple - not by any stretch of the imagination!

Regarding Twitter, I don't use the "C" or the "F" word either, but even so, there's a tendancy to be "quick & dirty" with the comments even for those of us who lead an otherwise prim and proper life. Is it because of the shortness of message space, or could it be that the message is meant to be consumed then discarded in seconds? Whatever the answer is, I apologize if my puppy has offended anyone in Twitterland!

Notice that Jon didn't define gracious as letting a photog snap a single pic of him, alone, without his bodyguard. And then bite the guy's head off on twitter the next day.

AND, he publicized the company yet again. In addition to thanking them for the invite. He didn't act like they were so, so lucky that he graced them with his presence.

As for the "pedophile" comments on Twitter, I'm sure I haven't seen all of them, but I'd say if someone stalks children online or seeks them out to befriend them or posts pics of other people's children online, calling them a pedophile is fair game. I know no one wants to get lumped in with a group but sometimes it's inevitable. For instance, someone may post here and I do not agree with it. I may get lumped in when someone replies but I know where I stand and don't let it bother me. However, if this blog was constantly of an opinion I don't agree with, or used language that I would be embarrassed to be associated with, them I would stop coming here.

I guess that's how i feel about twitter. I get the point..by it seems to me a fe' bad apples have ruined it for anyone. I don;t expect everyone to agree..and I certaintly am not judging anyone who goes there..it's just I feel that you have to expect if you are there that you are gong to get lumped into a general consensus of how people feel about it.

I don't think that's pedophilia at all. I think it's a lot of lonely women whom either miss their own grandchildren/children or don't have any to begin with. OR it's young women, from teens to early twenties, who haven't had any children yet but like the idea of it a bit too much.

Labeling everyone with an interest in children like the G kids a pedophile is not only a bit insulting and hypocritical, but it starts down the dangerous path of focusing on the big bad stranger and forgetting that most pedophiles know the children they abuse personally and are too often related to them.

Ex Nurse's Fluffy Matzo Balls and Jewish Penicillin Chicken Soup (Part 1)

Matzoh Balls (Yields 4 servings)
This is an adapted basic recipe, that turns out consistently fluffy  matzoh balls (dumplings made with matzoh meal), even after being frozen.

Ingredients

4 extra-large eggs
1 1/4 cups matzo meal
1/4 cup vegetable oil
1 tablespoon chicken stock (can just use water)
1 tablespoon vodka
1 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup club soda

Directions

1) Beat the eggs in a mixing bowl until thick and light colored. Combine the matzo meal, vegetable oil, 1 tablespoon chicken stock, vodka, salt, and club soda in a large bowl, and stir until well blended. Cover, and refrigerate 1 to 2 hours.

2) Bring 2 quarts of water or chicken stock to a boil. The matzoh balls can be cooked in chicken stock, but since I have a vegetarian in the family, I just cook in water. If you use chicken stock, I wouldn't use it for the final soup because the matzoh balls will make it cloudy. The matzoh balls will pick up the flavor from the soup, so don't worry if they taste bland. Should have the salt, because, without it, it will change the soup seasoning. If cutting back on salt, adjust the broth and cut the salt in the matzoh balls.

3) Meanwhile, form small, 1 to 2 inch diameter balls using the chilled matzo mixture. I use a melon scoop, which will produce medium sized dumplings--around 2 per serving. An ice cream scoop makes extra large matzoh balls, so 1 per serving. They can be formed by hand, but I learned the hard way that over working produces the consistency of golf balls. Don't worry about the shape being perfect. Place the balls in the chicken stock, reduce heat to medium, and simmer until matzo balls are cooked through, 45 to 60 minutes. The Matzo Balls will expand as they absorb water, so be sure that if you are doubling the recipe that you also double the water. They can be made ahead and frozen.

Note: Until I started adding the club soda and vodka, there was no consistency to the finished product. Some  years I would have to make several batches until I got an acceptable batch. The switch from hand-forming and the addition of the vodka (I think prevents freezer burn) and the club soda (I think makes them fluffy) and using a scoop changed my life! Since I made all of the changes at once, I don't know which thing did what, but I don't really care...

If they are frozen, put in refrigerator the night before serving

Ex Nurse said...

part 2 Ex Nurse's  Invented Jewish Penicillin (Chicken Sou p)

There are 3 different methods I have used over the years. #1 is my preferred method, because,  someone else did most of the work, you get an additional meal and finished broth, and, the base for the broth can be prepared at any time of year and frozen. When frozen, the matzoh balls will appear to deflate, but will fluff up in the broth.

Method #1 (Broth) Using a roasted chicken
I make a broth, using a seasoned roasted chicken--either homemade or store bought. You can have the chicken for a meal and just use the bones, with some meat left on it. The more seasoned, the better.

This year, I made a broth from whole seasoned and roasted chickens that we ordered from our favorite Greek restaurant for my birthday. It was cooked down very slowly, until it became very gelatinous and concentrated. Since, unlike all of those who have 4 freezers, I only have one, it stores conveniently in small tupperware containers, yet, when reconstituted will yield several quarts of soup.

Method #2 (Broth) Using uncooked chicken
Alternatively, a simple broth can be made, starting in the morning and cooking throughout the day. I use a few pieces of uncooked chicken and simmer for several hours. This may yield a thinner broth, but don't worry about it.

Method #3 (Broth) Using boullion and prepared broth
The entire broth can be made using a product called "Better Than Boullion" Chicken Base, which is a jarred paste that can be found in Whole Foods as well as many larger stores. Use the directions on the bottle for water/paste proportions The only downside of this product is that it is very salty, so if I am making the broth with this as a base, I also add a salt-free chicken broth that can be bought in boxes. It absolutely tastes homemade! The same company makes a vegetarian and beef version that is also great.

I use the boullion to intensify the broth, regardless of the method I use. Because it is so salty, I typically don't need to add any more salt--adjust to your taste.

Whichever method I use, on the day of the meal, I begin with the amount of liquid I need for the soup (sorry--I just estimate) and add some whole carrots, onions, celery and parsnip. No need to chop--they are discarded before serving. I just scrub the vegetables and peel the onion. I let it simmer for a couple of hours (may need to add water  ) . Throw out the vegetables and add chopped fresh celery carrots onion and parsley for the finished soup. Also, add the matzoh balls and slowly simmer until heated through. Serve with one or two matzoh balls.

Cures what ails you...guaranteed!

If he wants to revamp his image that would be a great opportunity for him. I have to admit, I'd love to see him on the men's team and Kate on the women's playing against each other. Now that's good TV! But considering the kids would be all alone during the filming of that, it's a bad idea... But could you imagine? I wonder who would go home first? I could see Kate sticking around past her expiration date because she is a drama queen, and those types of shows like to milk it. I wonder how Jon would do? He's so passive. I could see him going home early because of that or flying under the radar.

Regarding Nadya on Today this morning. She looked awful. For some reason, it looked like she had applied some black electrical tape to her eyebrows! They were thick, black, and straight. Very strange looking.

Yes, she did look more tired than in the past. She was even a LITTLE bit more subdued than her usual self.

The clip they used of her in her back yard with her kids playing must have been an old one, because I remember a kind doctor did do the necessary surgery on her little boy's cleft lip.

I think the story was that his surgery was quick and simple, because it was his lip only that was cleft, not his palate also. I was very glad to see that happen. No kid needs to grow up to be mocked and made fun of.

It must have Kate just crawling the walls to know Nadya has made a couple of appearances lately, and Kate has not.

I certainly am not defending Nadya. I think she is absolutely disgusting in every way, but she does have 14 little ones dependent upon her ability to support them.

She has given in to government assistance and did do some disgusting nude posing for some publication somewhere. She is pure trash.

It seems that Kate is more frequently getting lumped into a generic pool with Nadya.

I recently heard two of our local disc jockeys talking; one of them said something mocking about "that woman with a bunch of kids". The other guy says, "You mean Nadya Suleman?"

And the first guy says, "No, that other one. What's her name again?"

I heard on another station the same kind of conversation....that women with a bunch of kids, which one are you talking about...there's two like that aren't there?

And Kate thinks she's soooo superior to Nadya.

-------------------------------------------------

I hope he regrets it. Jon is a better father than Kate is a mother, but those two did a lot of things they should be ashamed of. Remember the way they mocked how their children eat? I don't have kids, I don't know what parents say to each other about their kids behind closed doors, but those two openly mocked their children on national (now international) television. I'm so glad that Jon isn't blathering on about the children and I hope he keeps it up.

Ex Nurse, I love you for posting your delicious recipes.

I make Jewish Penicillin once a week- it's a staple in my home, a simple, but nourishing meal.

As a matter of fact, I made a big old pot of it today.

Today I threw into the pot of chicken soup, a few cloves of garlic, some spinach, a chopped rutabega, chopped celery root, and some chopped zucchini. No noodles though.

I have a question about K8 and her consignment tweets. My understanding is that clothes you take to a consignment shop must be 'gently' used and in good condition. It's also my experience that kids play hard and pretty much wear out their clothes as they grow up and out of them. In the beginning of the grifting years i know she brought unused gift clothing to consignment, along with barely worn matchy-matchy clothes. But now? Other than her Xmas pageantry dresses, I can't imagine what play clothes or uniforms remain in decent condition.

As in, could you not just donate them? Scrimping on the kids justifes her jaunts I guess. Insufferable twitidiot.

No one could think of anything.

I just don't think it's in her nature to donate anything. She HAS to get something in return.

Oh Pink, and Ex-Nurse - I'm going to have to make some chicken soup too! Your posts have put me in the mood :)

My grandmother is Central-American so of course she has her own twist on it too. No noodles, but lots of other good stuff. We use zuchinni, corn on the cob (it sounds weird but it's soooo good! You get a couple ears of corn and cut them into thirds and throw those is. Then when you eat the soup you take a couple bites of the corn and then suck the broth from the cob. It is heaven!) carrots, celery, potato, and then a couple exotic ingredients - yucca and chayote. If you aren't familiar yucca is a starchy root vegetable similar to potato and chayote (also called mirliton in the south) is a type of squash. Towards the end of cooking throw in some chopped cabbage and a ton of mint leaves. It is to die for! Serve with a wedge of lemon or lime.

My boyfriends mom is Mexican and she makes a very similar soup using oregano instead of mint. Happy Eating!

I think she is tweeeting that because she wants to appear thrifty. You are right about consignment clothes- Kate mentioned play clothes, and getting things 4 sizes bigger- I didn't get that part...maybe she consigns the outfits they wear on holidays or other grifts. They don't look that well-dressed anymore, and they have uniforms for school, so I would think it's just holiday attire and some stuff given to her. Maybe the Under Armor socks, lol.

I LOVE YUCCA!! I was raised on it.

I have eaten Chayote, but not in soup. I'll pick some up next time I go shopping to add to our soup.

My Cuban mother & grandmother used another root vegetable in our soups- Malanga. It's a good substitute for potatoes in soups.

It's funny how every culture has it's version of chicken soup. My husband's family adds little meatballs to their chicken soup...

I know that there's a snowball's chance of this, but does anyone have a recipe for Hungarian egg soup? It's tomato based, and you boil the soup, and then drop raw eggs into the soup to poach them. It's served with homemade thick noodles with a brown crust. No potatoes or chicken stock involved.

It was handed down for generations from an in-laws family; she has passed away and although I watched her make it, I never wrote it down. Of course, the old-timers never had a recipe -- it was one of those inherited things, and they just dumped everything into the pot. I can't find it online anywhere.

Kate does read here. I gave a tip about making one trip shopping, where you hit several places, and then go home(instead of driving home to change cars). Kate just tweeted she did that before picking up one of the kids from late pick-up. She had all day to go to pet store, fed-ex,etc she waits till when the kids get home.

How come she is now doing extra advertising of CC, she did not do that before. The only advertising she did for CC, was that her new blog was up. No other advertising for CC. Did CC step on her? Too many complaints? Maybe other blogers complained, that she says very little to promote CC? And maybe the 'hits' at CC, did not generate, the business, CC hoped/counted on?.

Well I never thought it would be normal for parents to mock kids to their faces! I just didn't know what kinds of jokes parents might only share with each other.

Jon and Kate treated those couch interviews like they were private conversations. Hell - they treated the show like it was "home movies." How can two people have been so deluded? At least Jon saw the error in his ways, but why did it take three years for him to get it? It's not brain surgery! And I think that Kate has no filter, no yardstick with which to measure appropriate behavior. I think she's a lost cause.

Pink - Malanga eh? I'll have to look for it in the latin markets here. I'm very lucky to live where I do, I get to try exotic stuff from all over the world. Last night I had a cherimoya for dessert. It had a weird texture but a delicious flavor. At 6 bucks a pound it'll have to be a rare treat!

Hungarian Rhapsody - I have never heard of that soup but it sounds good. If I come across something similar I will post the recipe here for you. Did you try a search on yummly.com? It aggregates recipes from all over the internet. That might be a good place to look.

I have a hard time believing that Kate ran that many miles today, or any other day she claims to. My opinion of her is that she is basically a lazy person and is not into anything that requires hard work (or work of any kind for that matter). Therefore, I just do not believe that she actually puts for the mental and physical effort to run that many miles.

On a lighter note, we leave tomorrow to spend Easter with my daughter and her family. We spend every Easter at their home and then bring the boys back with us to spend a week with Papa and Grandma. I really get worn out after spending a with these 2 active little boys, but I wouldn't trade this time with them for all the money in the world.

So to all of you I wish a blessed holiday, whether it be Easter or Passover. Enjoy your time with families and friends as I will be enjoying mine!

I make chopped liver (very infrequently now) from watching my mother and my aunt. It was basic, sauteing onions, then liver in salad oil (50's update from chcken schmaltz of their youth), seasoned with Lawry's seasoned salt, then grinding in one of those clamp on metal meat grinders (I have my mom's), aternating livet, onions, and hard- boiled eggs. The few tablespoons of oil held it all together. The proportions are 1lb liver, 2 medium onions, 4 hardboiled eggs. The salt and oil are measured the grandma way.

Sadly, my mother and aunts are gone, and only a few of us have a taste for chopped liver.

Yeah. Suuuure ya did Kate. And I just came back a few minutes ago from running 87.9 miles backwards in my high heels carrying sixteen bags of groceries and a load of lumber for the new deck we're building. And that was AFTER I dropped off three dogs at the vets and while I was there I assisted the doc in pulling a calf from a cow who was having difficulty birthing. And right before I reshingled the roof this morning I trimmed the grass on the back 40 with a push mower and changed the oil in my car. Just prior to washing all 52 stained glass windows at the church 7 miles down the road which I ran to carrying two five gallon buckets of hot water in each hand and a ladder on my back, I made the sun rise on the west.

And if the homework is such an ordeal, then why are these hours of the day PRIME TIME for her tweeting?

&&&

GOOD QUESTION. She doesn't have the kids all day and usually she's quiet. She's at the spa or tanning or nails or whatever indulging herself. Then when she is stuck at the orphanage with them she makes the nanny do all the drudge work so she can tweet.

Can I tell you there is nothing more awkward as a nanny than having to take care of the kids when MOM is HOME doing NOTHING??? You get over it soon alive, but man alive it's strange in the beginning. I guess cause my mom WANTED to be with us kids. We weren't a nuisance.

There is no reason she can't help all eight of them with everything they need in the evenings on her own, she is pathetic. They're only in two grades between the eight of them, they have more or less the same types of homework, and how much help do they really need, they're not stupid. No reason she can't park them all at the table after school while she prepares dinner and is always available to come over as questions come up with assignments. Bing, bang, boom.

It chaps my hide how much money is being blown on a nanny when Kate is HOME. Oh and at least two of my sources have told me Kate has full time help constantly--which Kate pretty much admits herself anyway, so not exactly inside info.

@Kateplusmy8 Snds like a typical day 4me, but add in working full time too. My run has 2get done b4 6am to fit it in tho.The life of a mom!

Kate Gosselin ‏ @Kateplusmy8
@XXXXXX omg I am bowing to you right now! Running before 6 am is something I gave up a few years ago Lol! Wow! That's dedication!

In her Runner's World article, Kate says she only started running outside in June 2010. Does she really expect anyone to believe that before then, she was running on her treadmill indoors before 6 a.m.? This, when at that time she most definitely had full-time, LIVE-IN help? If it ever happened, it was probably only the once.

And in the "yeah, right" category:

I think @Kateplusmy8 would be awesome in a role on @glee

She watches Glee too now huh? Between American Idol and The Voice and Dance Moms and Glee she is one busy gal. It's a wonder the kids even recognize her she's apparently so glued to her twitter and prime time T.V. shows every night. She makes me so sad. For the kids.

Jon spent so much time under the bus that he probably learned how to change the oil.

It wasn't just the nanny 4.5 days a week, Admin, it was also a "housekeeper" (full-time? live-in?) AND the "laundry girl." I do wonder if ALL of that help comes out of the kids' funds, I really do. She clearly does next to nothing.

And right before I reshingled the roof this morning I trimmed the grass on the back 40 with a push mower and changed the oil in my car.

I read this really fast and thought you wrote that you had shingles but still cut the grass with a push mower, along with everything else. I thought -- geez, that must have been painful as well as itchy.

It's fascinating she never tweets during the day while she is alone, yet she tweets for HOURS while the eight kids are home. Does she tie the kids up or lock them in the basement? Who does laundry, cleans the floors, the bathrooms, cooks and cleans the kitchen, talks to the kids? Apparently not their mother (which might be a good thing)

She has to have full time help. No doubt about it. Just keeping that house in order would be very time consuming, not including the pool and acreage.

After reading all her freakin tweets, I have no idea how Jon stood living with this idiot as long as he did.

It's also fascinating to me she doesn't realize how bad it makes her look and at least try to change her habits up a bit.

RE; Eggs

If she would give them more than a tablespoon she could use them up. For breakfast she should be using at least 10-12 eggs. Scrambled two are only a couple of tablespoons.

I am surprised she doesn't know about cheese n eggs. That is the way my mother always fixed them in a big bowl in the middle of the table to help ourselves. I didn't know how good we had till KT came along.

And here's the thing. It would be a different story if these kids were toddlers. I can't imagine having six very young children all one age, plus two others in the house all day, every day, with no husband and no help. I'd be ready to be committed.

However, they are not babies, and they are gone five days a week, nine hours a day, and with him two weekends a month. I could see someone coming in there to do the floors and maybe the bathrooms once a week, but there is no reason she needs a sitter, a nanny, an assistant, a laundry girl, or anyone else.

Yes. It would also be a different story if Kate worked all day.

It doesn't bother so much she has help as it bothers me the help is obviously paid from all the money the kids made because face it no blog salary on a site like this could begin to support all this help, it's hypocritical because she said she can't be a nurse because she would need nannies (won't anyone call her on this???), and it's misleading because she spends most of her time selling her whole "supermom" image. I'm actually surprised she even admits she has help since she is so committed to letting us all know what a perfect mother she is.

@XXXXXX for the record, I don't have plural of anything. Someone helps me clean and I have ONE helper with kids..Far from all the X

So, no plurals of anything? It's as we said, all singular: housekeeper, nanny, laundry girl, etc., etc. She is just so full of it.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

No one said it makes you a bad mom to have a nanny.

I'm still waiting for her appreciation to her nanny for all she does. I'm going to be waiting a long time I fear.

It is very difficult as a nanny to hear the mom you work for tell everyone how they do it all. When really it's you who do it all and rarely if ever get thanked.

Where is Gosselin give back: I am serious. You make one trip, when you are out. Kate was saying in her Gas saving blog, that she uses the right car for shopping. Which means, she drives kids to bus pick-up in the BBB, then drives home and uses other car. I'm saying, instead of driving back home, you go from school bus stop and plan a shopping trip, with what ever car you are driving. So a trip would be: , drop kids off, breakfast/coffee, till stores open, plan out where you need to go, if all stores are near one another, make one trip. Food store you do last and home you go. Not driving back & forth from one store to house, and back out, that is wasting gas & time. I do that, make one trip. I have the travel plan in my head(no GPS)of where the stores are and off I go. Kate has nothing to do all day.

Oops silly me I forgot she also said they watch DWTS.

Well, Kate just tweeted it. Must have gotten mad. She has one cleaning person, who helps her clean and one sitter for the kids. And I'm sure she still has a laundry girl.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

When you make one trip it's also easier on your engine especially in winter because it doesn't have to warm up from ice cold. In summer your car doesn't work as hard to get the air conditioning going between trips.

Also you save money by owning one car per one adult. Not two cars per adult or even three, no matter what the mileage is. Unless you own a semi-truck, it's one car per adult.

Thanks Westcoaster @142 I'm going to try your recipe.

Done and Done - I know that I can make my own schmaltz when cooking chicken but I never seem to thi k about it at the ti e and usually pour the "drippings" on the bully's dinner.

Although born and raised in NJ as a military wife we're now in an area without a Jewish deli (the closest one is 4 hours away). I stock up on kinishes, chopped liver, brisket and Dr. Brown's CelRay when we are up there. Only 2 cans of CelRay left so it may be time for a road trip.

Im sure that Mady has a lovely little voice (Kate just tweeted that M sings and dances) but in order to be on par with the Glee kids Kate had better spring for some voice and dance lessons. I guess her new obsession will be Glee (sorry Disney) since sheeple are mentioning they'd love to se Kate plus the 8 on the show. Delusions of grandure much Kate?

Well I do think she has been outed too many times about the hired help. She doesn't seem ashamed of it though. She's got this odd attitude like I DESERVE it so STFU.

She can't really stick to a theme. Is she a struggling single mom struggling to put a crust of bread on the table all by herself, is she a single mom with everything in order because she cuts coupons and goes to consignment, is she a celebrity living the high life, is she a real housewife with a nanny for each kid and all the works? What is her theme here? I'm so lost!

As far as the tweeting haterz, I guess I just don't understand it--especially when it is a string of abusive and/or personal attacks. But, really, none of my business. I rarely go there because there is so little substance. It bothers me when people who frequent multiple blogs trash one of our posters or admin (I have been called Nurse Ratched) on another blog and then comes over here and posts as if nothing has happened. I don't like disloyalty. Admin has been clear that she does not want blog wars happening here and I respect that. Anyway, for what is worth--that's my 2 cents wrth.

I just saw Interior Therapy with Jeff Lewis for the first time and he was redoing Ross Matthews' house (Ross the Intern).

Ross the Intern has been a staple on the Jay Leno show for years. Maybe eight, ten years now. He covers the Oscars, the Emmys, he has hit it big. He must have made millions by now. But he lives in a modest two bedroom home with his boyfriend with a little living room and kitchen and tiny backyard in a regular quiet neighborhood. He is probably part of the rarer breed of people hitting it big who aren't buying homes too big for them and too much car and clothes and the works (he wore a Rebok track suit). I really like this guy. He's stayed so normal.

There is no reason Kate couldn't have done the same and kept her lifestyle modest in order to sustain her family much longer. Go Ross! When you retire someday you'll thank young Ross.

ncgirl said...

Ross also appears on Chelsea Lately. He has guest hosted there, and he makes appearances at colleges.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Ross has been a correspondant for 50 episodes of Jay Leno, has been on 52 episodes of Chelsea Lately, had a recurring part on Days of Our Lives for 15 episodes, has hosted at least eight Red Carpet shows outside of Jay Leno including the Oscars, the Emmys and the SAG awards.

And this is his house backyard: http://lynnnchicago.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/JL-Ross5.jpg

And mediocre garage: http://lynnnchicago.com/wp-content/uploads/2012/04/JL-Ross4.jpg

No gate, no fuss.

I love that this guy is living within his means and understands this might all go away someday and maybe it's not the best idea to blow money like a rock star. And he hit it big when he was 22 years old. Good for HIM. No Kate, you don't have to get a mansion and a sports car and all those other toys. Not everyone values that.

My dad lives in a fairly nice 55+ mobile home park. Every applicant goes through a strict background check. Residents are kicked out if they make any trouble. There are many people who live there with money. They choose to live modestly in a nice doublewide. Many do drive nicer cars, and have nicer appliances. Some even pay to have a cleaning person and garden come over a few times a month. Nothing extravagant, just a nice little home in a nice area. Why cant Americans see how great this is? You dont need stuff to be happy.
