Jon's Twitter account goes public

After nearly three years of being bashed in the public by Kate, Jon finally decided he wants a voice. When asked for updates on the kids, he tweeted:

Jon Gosselin ‏ @jongosselin1
there is nothing to tell, so dont follow me. they had enough over the last 6 years.go ask the other parent im not saying sh*t

And when asked what his biggest regret was he said:

Jon Gosselin ‏ @jongosselin1
Trusting in others with out knowing the ramifications and outcomes that came with other peoples plans for me, whoops

Stay strong, Jon. For the kids.

Kate is quite pretentious herself. What's funny is she is actually pretty mediocre herself with her mediocre store bought parties. And maybe she will someday realize mediocre can actually bring you and your kids lots of happiness. Most mediocre people don't need a medal for things most good moms do as a matter of course.

************************

Find me a comment by Kate dissing another mom for the quality of the food or presentation at a kid's party and I'll be more than happy to call her out too.

If it were Jon throwing the party, people here would be going on ad nauseam about what a wonderful father he is for doing something so "normal" for his kid. Because it's Kate, she gets ripped a new one for not throwing a party worthy of an Oscar night celebration. Who gives a crap? A child who clearly craves individual attention got just that. There's nothing negative about it.

Ingrid said...

Although some people don't think much of that bunch of snacks for the party, I just imagined the kids thinking "Yay Mommy did NOT make us her organic creations (crap)!"

I agree it was really nice to have the party for Mady-like an average non-celeb child. A simple party because they are proud of her. Kate could have gone over the top like those parents who spend tens of thousands on birthday parties.

Do you know what pisses me off the most about kate's tweet about braces for all 8? RIght before she closes on her 1.2 mil house she "speaking" at churches getting love offerings for braces and college times 8. Surley at $25k an engagement she has more than enough to fix the kids teeth without whining or doing her "woe is me" number

It is negative because Kate tweeted about it. It is negative because Kate wants praise and a medal for doing what normal moms do. It is negative because it's private. Or should be! Peraonally I think the party is fine but if Kate doesn't want criticism the simple solution is not to post photos of it! She knows exactly what she's doing and she loves it.

Jon doesn't tweet photos of things about the kids and won't talk about them so I don't know how I would react.

Actually, without trying to feed into any sort of controversy, she very recently dissed every other mom at the school her kids attend by writing "My kids are known to have the best lunches at school". Inferring, of course, that every other kids have the misfortune of taking lunches far less 'amazing'. I'm no particular fan of either of the Gosselins, but it is only Kate who has continued to put every detail of their childrens' lives out there on the public airwaves. If she continues to expose such personal things as her kids' schedules, her super-Mom abilities (cooking, crafting, etc.) then they will continue to be commented on. Especially because she is evidently not super or amazing at any of these things. She appears to be average at best, and not even average in many instances. Having said that, I'm just an ordinary wife, mom, sister, daughter, working woman myself. I'm pretty sure even my little life couldn't hold up under the intense scrutiny Kate has subjected herself to. I would never put myself in a position where every morsel of food, every hair on my head, every outfit I choose, or every too-big or un-ironed item of clothing my kids might be seen in, could be put under such a magnifying glass. She really should stop doing this.

We obviously have a different idea of what it means to "treat your children well." I don't happen to believe that expensive food on fine china equates to "treating your children well" and do not for one second think that a store-bought cake and shrimp on a plastic platter amounts to poor treatment.

I totally agree with this Admin and have long thought that Kate is actually rather unskilled in the 'domestic arts'(!) like raising kids, cooking, being a wife, etc. I think she blogs and tweets about what she WANTS to be, thinking she's already achieved it (and "out-achieved" every other woman who might be peeping in on her false world). She appears to be a shallow, self-centered woman with no ability for taking an objective look at herself or for filtering what comes out of her mouth. Socrates wrote: "The unexamined life is not worth living". Dr. Phil says "You can't change what you don't acknowledge". Many versions of the same theme. Kate's ego was probably always there, just made completely unmanageable by her brief stint with fame. She isn't really any of the things she claims to be - her pictures, words, behaviors and attitudes have proven this time after time.

Same principle holds true here. If someone posts a comment on a public forum, the possibility of criticism of that comment exists. If you are not open to opposing viewpoints, make your blog private and by invite-only. Simple solution.

With respect to Jon, I can only say this: he withdrew from the exploitation of his kids. Period. I do not believe he did it for any self-serving purpose - I think he wanted to stop exposing them for a long time before he pulled the plug on Kate's ambitions to continue the exposure. This is why she cries, in my opinion. This is why she remains so angry after all this time. As for his behavior right after their separation? A comment above states that Jon needs to "earn back the respect he lost with his trail of sluts". And who would these sluts be? And what do any of us really know about his state of mind at the time? I know lots of people from my own circle who have gone a bit nutty after escaping from a bad marriage. Not saying it's right, just that it's common. People with a solid grounding of morals and values, eventually leave the childish things behind and go back to a more normal life. I'm guessing Jon is one of those people. We really have no idea what he endured, but we do know what we saw with our own eyes on the 'unscripted' TV show. I saw a woman who disrespected her husband totally, who dishonored his wishes by continuing a (she says) purely innocent but very time-consuming relationship with another man. I saw that she broke him in every way it is possible for one human being to break another one. I don't blame him a bit for acting out for a short time. I wonder what kind of a saint wouldn't have done exactly the same thing.

That she should treat them as well as she treats herself is the point. How about taking Mady to Nobu in NYC for starters? If that sounds ridiculous it's because it is. Of course she doesn't need to make a big celebration simply because Mady's in a play, but why does Kate think she herself is worthy of a fine dining experience every time she makes an appearance anywhere.

Oh Focus, take a FRICKIN chill pill and get off your soap box.
1. Mady's party was mediocre and again displays Kate's ignorance regarding nutrition and proper food portions for growing kids. NO ONE would say boo if Kate didn't post that picture of the sad set up and if she didnt constantly pat herself on the back about how nutritious, organic, and superior she felt their diets are. NO ONE would care if she didn't have her ignorant nose in the air and actually say that Jon is willing to settle for a mediocre life for her kids but she wants only the best for them. This statement has been proven wrong many times over and the sheer audacity of it still resonates
2. You state that some of us here differ from you as to what 'treating the children well' means. Tacky party aside, what do you think that Kate has actually done right? Put aside all things material for a second; has she EVER treated the children well? Treated them like human beings with feelings? Like individuals? Hell, she's not even nice to them, not even a little. Then she brags about her stellar mothering skills. No wonder people can't stand her
3. Okay, now look at the material things. That sad little party with too-little food, so joyless. Probably put together with a minimum of time and effort and money. Why skimp on her kids yet never miss a tanning or Botox appointment? Why dress them in ill-fitting and wrinkled clothing when she is rarely seen in the same outfit twice? Why let them go out in public with messy hair when she spends over 2 hours in hair and makeup before she leaves the house?
4. Your point that you should be able to post whatever you want even if it is clearly the opposite of what most people feel here is valid, I guess. But why? Don't you have better things to do?

As to the kids being "hot messes" at the play, in some (perhaps twisted) way I think it's a good sign. It means that Kate is letting them dress themselves, instead of investing all her self-worth into making them little matching dolls. Now that she is doing all the mememememememe stuff like hair, wardrobe, etc. she is at least featuring herself (ho-bag that she is) and letting the kids be kids. Who sometimes prefer to be "hot messes" instead of dressed-up mannequins, after all.

Whatever Jon decides to do to make a little nest egg for himself and his kids would pale in comparison to what KT has done and will continue to do in the future.

******************************

Exactly! All of the Kate supporters who cry "Kate is a single mom and has to do whatever it takes to support eight kids" should sit back and take a look at the fact that this works both ways. Jon has child support to pay, as well as provide for his own living expenses. He's not living in a huge McMansion, nor accumulating an array of vehicles on a whim, getting expensive personal maintenance (hair, tanning, nails, etc.) and also has to provide meals and entertainment for when he has his custody time.

If something comes his way to increase his income and standard of living, I say go for it.
+++++++++++

Agreed PatK. I still think it's hilarious that Kate finds it "necessary" to primp when she has nothing to primp for: No TV gigs, no "secret pap meetings", she deludes herself into thinking that she *must* be perfect at all times, while taking food out of the children's mouths. But Pat, you make a great point that Jon never did such things & made a living just fine as an...ahem... "regular" person & still provided fun times for the kids so it seems.

There is no need to spend spend spend in order to make anyone, especially kids, more happy, when it's obvious from the photo above that all children need is love & affection.

I am the proud mother of four children, two that are biologically ours and two that we adopted from China. After giving birth to one with special needs (my son is severely Autistic), we chose to adopt children with special needs. Thus, some of the challenges that we live with, in addition to Autism, are ADD, Spina Bifida, hip displasia, speech delays, cleft lip, sensory integration dysfunction, and PTSD. As a loving parent to these beautiful children, I am beyond offended that any group that is supposed to represent and support those like me, would ever dream of having Kate as a guest at their function. She has absolutely NO clue what it takes to be a mother who lives from day to day with children who struggle to do what others take for granted. What advice could she possibly offer someone like me about how to raise children with special needs? Has she ever held a five year old's hand as he is wheeled into neurosurgery? Has she ever held a scared orphan as they cried themselves to sleep night after night? Did she have to wait until her son was nearly six to finally hear him say "mama"? Well, I have. It just makes my blood boil when I hear that a spoiled brat like Kate Gosselin is being held on a pedestal to be an "example" for those like me.

Yes, the issue is the hypocrisy and boasting about EVERYTHING. This is true of every photo she has posted, regardless of the subject. She is and has the most amazing of everything. Remember, Kate doesn't settle for mediocre, at least in her mind. It all boils down to presentation. If you are going to brag about everything you have and do then take some pride in it. Don't brag for days (Valentine's Day) and then post a photo of something that took a few minutes.
If that's the way she wanted to present Mady's party, fine, just don't post it for the world to see; the same way with her menus and CC blogs. It certainly wasn't necessary to use china, silver and crystal along with fine linens for the party, but she could have used the appropriate sized bowls, pottery. etc. and done a better presentation if she wanted to post it. These few changes wouldn't have cost a penny. In other words, when having pizza delivered, take a minute to place plates on the table, drinks in glasses and place the pizza on a large plate instead of placing the box on the table. Then you can take a photo to show the whole world if you're Miss Amazing.

I too think 'hot messes' is sort of a cruel way to describe children. Devil's advocate here, but they could have been playing all day and gone to a play at 4 (speculating) and it showed. It's a Saturday.....they have all day to play. We used to go to church on Saturday night and we probably looked 'hot messish' too sometimes. My mom was a lot like Kate - concerned with her appearances but not so much ours. She probably fixed herself up a little for church, but just sort of let us go as is, but that was OK. We would have rebelled against having our hair tugged one more time or changing our clothes.

My mom and grandma used to french-braid our hair so tight that your scalp would hurt if you frowned. But by the end of the day, half the hair was out and it looked like bedhead with stragglies sprouting all over. If we had pigtails, they would never be even by end of day, no matter how tight they were tied in the morning. One would be higher than the other, maybe more toward the back of the head or whatever, because we were active little kids.

I don't have children, but I recently went to my cousins birthday party. His mother and the other mothers at her school, I swear, are in competition mode to see who can throw the most lavish birthday party for their kids. Even the goodie-bags for the party-goers to take home are more expensive than the parties I used to have myself when I was a child!
These parents, and I am not downing anyone at all because I know parents just want to give their little ones the best times of their lives, put gift certificates INSIDE the goodie-bags to stores for $20 to 25.00 and this is not even for the child having the birthday party! It boggles my mind! It's a constant one-upping.
My little cousin, who I chatted with briefly at the party told me that she was having a great time but "there weren't a lot of gifts on the table". That broke my heart to hear that. It makes me feel as though kids feel entitled to anything and everything and to being spoiled. So, it was nice that Kate gave her daughter ANY kind of party for any kind of celebration AND singled her out.
Isn't it usually the little kids getting most of the attention? I'm not defending Kate at all, but it's good that Maddy (?) got some kind of attention. And really who cares if it wasn't over the top? I think that's a great thing. It shows her, and the other kids, that not everything has to cost tons of money for a super-fun time for once. I'm sorry it took forever to get to my point.

PJ's momma said...

DomUnique, we are in the same boat. I too am just agog at the lavish treatment every single party gets! Recently, a friend was complaining to my husband about JUST HOW HARD it was to plan a Harry Potter-themed birthday party for their daughter. They had to get costumes, create scenes from the movie, get the goody bags together, hire a wizard, etc. She's SEVEN!!!! My husband listened to it all and said, "Do you know what you're suffering from? Affluence!" The guy took it in and busted out laughing. My gosh, what happened to baking a cake or cupcakes at home, playing a few games, opening a few gifts, and calling it good?

I too thought (and stated earlier) that I think it's good that Mady enjoyed a little celebration in her honor only, especially after she was the one who threw an absolute fit over the fact that the little ones were getting so many parties. The only thing I laugh at is that Kate shows pictures of this very mediocre (not that there's anything wrong with that) table and tweets it out to garner more praise for herself.

Focus -- the issue isn't that Mady got special attention, which she clearly needs and craves. The issue is that Kate brags about how awesome and amazing she is and how she goes miles and miles out of her way to create these wonderful experiences for her kids, then proceeds to demonstrate just how underwhelming it all is. If she'd just tweeted that she was having a little celebration for Mady that would have been fine, although it would have been better to have said nothing at all. She's the one who put it out there for all to see and (not) admire.

I have to say about disheveled kids, I do think Kate is lazy, but I agree with OP I also don't think six kids should be lined up in front of mirrors and meticulously made up every hair in place and outfits match matchy and powder their noses. Just let them be kids.

There will be plenty of time for kids to primp in front of the mirrors--in fact they will probably spend a lot of the teen years doing that. Why rush it? I don't think a kid should be doing more than running a comb through his hair and throwing on some clothes unless it's a major occasion. Angelina Jolie's kids often look pretty disheveled. But that's because it's obvious she lets them be KIDS and doesn't care what people think. Life is not Stepford.

But is this because Kate actually feels that she just wants them to just be kids, or more because she's just lazy? I'm going with LAZY.

BUT, let me explain something to you - there is a world of difference between formal/lavish and simple/fun. What annoys people is the hypocrisy of Kate - everything is amazing, but it's not. She maintains that what she does is beyond ordinary, but it's not. And then she photiographs this ordinary stuff, posts it to the world, further violating her children's privacy. She's a major fake. So yes, china is not necessary but if you are the SuperMom you say you are, why not bake some cupcakes, take the shrimp out plastic, fill the bowls - so many small touches to make your presentation more 'amazing'. Honestly, don't think she really knows how to do this - maybe if she actually had friends, went to parties, shared tips, I know I learned so much from my circles over the years.

That's about it, hope you don't actually return to read and comment.

I think the way Kate acts has to do with her growing up. Kate was the 3rd child, 3rd girl, kid in the middle. I'm sure that when her brother was born, he was treated like a little prince, which means Kate was ignored, a lot. Thus giving way to her probably doing anything to get attention. There was another sister born after her brother, she is the youngest and gets alot of attention, being the baby. The 2 oldest are the pride & joy. Where does that leave Kate in the middle. Looking for attention. Kate as a kids & teen must have been a real pain, in her household. This would explain why Kate craves the attention, good or bad. It's a need in her. Kate is insecure, immature, attention getter, selfish, Kate likes to take the fun out of things, including when it is the kids turn to shine, Kate will make it about her. And that pic of the food, Kate just made it about her, even if it was for Maddy. It's see, look what I made, are I not wonderful, I'm such a wonderful mother. NOt Maddy was amazing, we had a party for her, all her favorites, and I even invited her dad, & family to come and celebrate, we are so proud of her. Not Kate, it's my party and It's my party, only I Kate can celebrate. If you don't live here you can't COME. SAD!

When she speaks to the parents of children with special needs, I hope she doesn't mention she knows how they feel because one of her children wears glasses and some might require braces on their teeth.

Okay, that made me laugh. Especially since it wouldn't surprise me in the least. I hope she has someone to write her speech for her.

Here's a thought: maybe why Kate won't let Jon back on the property, even for a party or birthday party, is cause Kate might fall back in love with Jon. Kate is not over him. And why she bashes him every chance she gets, is cause she gets mad at herself, cause she still has feelings for Jon. So, when she gets those feelings, she throws Jon under the bus. Makes perfect sense.

Eat, out of box, use napkin, or paper plates, eat, put plates, napkin in empty box and throw in recycle can(where I live we have a big blue garbage can for paper, glass etc). Nothing wrong with that. But I guess Kate will complain tomorrow, that she had to spend half a day cleaning up, like she complained after valentines day.

Freebee Kate: I agree with you. But Kate still sees those Tups as preschoolers, not capable of doing anything on their own. A couple of months ago Kate referred to the tups as preschoolers, only recently got rid of the baby chair things. The fact she still makes their plates up, is cause she is having a hard time believing that they are not babies anymore, but school kids. Kate still I'm sure picks out their clothes too(other than school uniforms), and anything else.

Dear Focus,
i am really glad you finally had something better to do this afternoon, have fun doing it, don't hurry back anytime soon.

______________________________

Was ready to respond to Focus, but you, and others, said it perfectly. There's absolutely NOTHING wrong with having a mediocre party with paper plates and store-bought items...the problem, as stated above, is the HYPOCRISY of it all...having to BROADCAST to the world that you've done what any loving mother would do for her child...the pretension is ALL KATE'S...pretending and postulating that she's Supermom, when, in fact, she is JUST MEDIOCRE...it's making it ALL ABOUT HER instead of all about her child. Everything Kate does is to glorify herself, and that's the bottom line. She is totally self serving.

Regarding Jon’s twitter account-he said that he wanted his account to be verified because there are some fake accounts in his name, and wanted people to know this account was really him. Some of those fake account have trashed the children-so I understand his reasons for wanting to be verified. In order for an account to be verified, the account MUST be public. If you have a verified account, and you go private, you lose your verified status.

Kate’s account was verified immediately, which as I understand, is unusual. I am under the impression that it was TLC’s idea for her to open a twitter account in the first place. I don’t know what the verification process entails, but maybe TLC was able to speed up the process for Kate.

Jon has had his account for almost 3 years. When his account was private, most of us were not privy to whom he tweeted , what he said or how he reacted to certain people tweeting him. Now that his account is public, we are.

As long as he does not talk about the children, Kate or anything related to them, I don’t think people should judge how he handles himself on twitter.

As long as Kate continues to tweet about the children, violate their right to privacy and use them to stay relevant, her tweets will be subject to criticism.

I m sure that other posters will have covered some of what I have to say. I got interrupted this morning, and am posting it before I get caught up.

I definitely agree that Jon has the ability to succeed in the entertainment business. He has social skills, is easy-going,  and has intelligence and quick wit. That is the kind of person that people gravitate towards, want to support and want to have succeed. Clearly, he can follow directions and work hard. Needless to say, Kate possesses none of those traits.

I hope that if he is moving in that direction, that he aim higher than a reality show along the lines of "Divorced Dads Club". But, as long as the kids aren't being filmed, I really don't care. They may be the first children to have their most private moments recorded for eternity and available internationally--but, they won't be the first to have a parent who works in entertainment and all that entails.

Whatever professional step he makes, hopefully he will remember that his most important role is that of role model to his kids. Kate's grifting and public exploitation of her children  has generated a groundswell of support for him--but, it will erode quickly, if he can't keep it light and clean on twitter. Doing nothing is always a choice he can make, when being baited. I wish he would stop rising to the bait and either ignore, block or say, simply, "No comment". The careless profanity makes him look like a guy with serious arrested development issues, not the caring and thoughtful dad that we know he is. If they haven't already, the twins will be seeing all of this--he needs to keep this in mind with every action he takes--unless he is going for the bad boy, arrested development, image.

Personally, I would definitely watch him on DWTS. I  think that would be a great way to relaunch himself--I think it would bring out the best of him and he would earn some respect. I might even send an email to the show.

It pains me to defend Kate on any issue but I think she has a couple of busboy bins on her countertop filled with rinse water, so the kids can put their dirty dishes in them before they go in the dishwasher (the dishes that is, not the kids). It was on one of the episodes, so maybe they were only props for filming purposes, which is likely the case.

I'm not seeing what Jon's doing that's so wrong and horrible. He made his twitter public. Is that it?

All this stuff about a book, interviews on TV, finding ways to make money off the kids again is pure speculation. I'm seeing people getting mad about things that aren't even true, right?

Anyway, others already answered this, but it's true and bears repeating: Kate goes on and on about how AMAZING everything is that she touches, how MUCH work and preparation went into everything she does, then she tweets a photo and it's a single slice of bacon and a mini muffin or a little bowl of salsa and chips and a shrimp ring and a sheet cake.

No one's saying there's anything wrong with those things. But why go on and on about how AMAZING everything is when it's really just average stuff? Does she think if she says it, it'll be true? Wishful thinking? Or does she really think just because SHE did something, it's automatically 1000 times better than if someone else does it?

No idea, and I really don't care to dive into the unhealthy dysfunction of her mind for too long. But it's weird and extremely hypocritical. And that's what I criticize.

Healthy marriages include moments like this, and are not, in an of themselves, signs of trouble. It was good-natured exchange, and a good example of Jon at his laid back, good-natured best.

I just celebrated my 31st wedding anniversary, so, not an expert, but, very experienced. Somedays, I am easily distracted or irritated by my husbands' sounds when he is eating (kitchen is just outside my home office) particularly if I am trying to focus on something else I am doing. Nothing personal about it-- If I am already irritated or in a bad mood, every little background sound becomes amplified--it is just how I am wired. I usually move away or close the door--problem solved!

I just don't think this was a major indication of the problems ahead. They were divided on major issues, not minor character flaws. What ended that marriage was that they had deep disagreements about critically important life decisions, including personal, family and professional goals.

What is so striking to me was how pretty and natural she was, so much more open and seemed like a happy person (if that word can be applied to Kate). Yes, she was overbearing, controlling, and disrespectful--the signs were all there. But, fundamental, healthy, positive tools for relationships could have been learned in a few marital therapy sessions. Genuine affection is something that can't be learned, and it is sad that it was squandered and thrown away so carelessly.

What is sad though, is her idea of a grand celebration. This lady really has no idea how to make a table look festive.

Thank you for being so welcoming! I have been a long time lurker of this site, but have never posted before today. In the early days of Jon and Kate Plus Eight, I was quite amused by what I saw. Her household mirrored mine with the noise and chaos...her eight toddlers were as much a handful as my four children (which tend to be a bit more high maintenance than typically developing kiddos). My husband, like the Jon that we met in the early days, is much more laid back and prefers to do things like pay with the kids and help with bath time. I, on the other hand, am more organized and do more of the household chores, homework, and therapies. Quickly however, I began to identify less and less with the Gosselin family and began to use Kate as a barometer of "what NOT to do as a mom".

Now, I simply find the whole story of the Gosselins to be a fascinating tale of greed and deception. I am amazed by how one woman can stir up so much emotion in so many people. Most of us have never met her, but she can surface such adoration in her fans and such anger in the rest of us. It is a crazy social experiment, orchestrated by a media giant and a greedy pair who allowed it to spin out of control. My heart breaks for those kids, not only because they have had to live it, but moreso because they may never truly realize how wonderful childhood can be. None of us can realistically change that for them, but we can surely reflect on our own parenting in the wake of all of this so that our beautiful children can benefit from all that we have learned.

Welcome, Momof4! Great post...look forward to hearing more from you. You and your husband sound like a great team! I also use Kate as a reference of what not to do.

As I recently posted, I have a very close friend that has a severely disabled (cerebral palsy) 7 year old son. Her son's father is her ex-husband, is an active alcoholic and is only peripherally involved in his life.  I didn't know her before her son is born, but she has often said that she feels blessed to be his mother. He is, literally, the light of her life. Contrast that with Kate's own stupid remarks about one of the boy's "decent" astigmatism that kept him from being "normal", in the Youtube clip posted by Marie #81--and the even stupider label of "The Professor".

That clip was notable, for other reasons. In the introduction, at 00:09, you can see one of the very young girl tups being handed out of the BBB, dangling by her wrist--WTF--who does that? Also, here were some of the words used to describe some of the kids: Sneaky, Controlling, Wild, Stubborn--Yikes. Nah. See the whole thing about the custody arrangements boils down to this: NOBODY here knows what they are. There's the theory that Jon has them three weekends per month. I doubt anyone can point to a reliable source to verify that, it's just speculation.

Additionally, people like to guess which parent the children are with for any particular weekend based on Kate's tweets or the occasional tabloid photo. This is a fairly unreliable method for determination of someone's whereabouts.

So basically, don't assume to know where the children are on any given weekend. And if you choose to, keep in mind we don't know what the arrangements are so none of us can declare with any certainty, "hey it's Jon's weekend!"

MommaOfFour, loved your posts!! You are so right, what can Kate have to say to a family with a special needs child? You on the other hand would be a great speaker and I would come to hear about your life experiences any day. My goodness, this organization couldn't find one "Reece's Rainbow" family or a representative to come and speak? I follow many blogs of families who have or are in the process of adopting a special needs child and if you want to read wonderful blogs, those are the ones to follow!!! After reading them, I come here for a laugh because Kate just doesn't have a clue. Many adoptive families have more children than Kate and like MommaOfFour, several may have one or more special need. The thing is in every blog I follow it's always about the kids, what the kids need, what the kids give to the family, loving on the kids, the blessings of that child, it's never about mom. A reality show that presents a different family like this every week is one I would watch every week. I just want to thank every family who has adopted a child, any child because they all are special and deserve a family. I have not adopted myself but I have sponsored several children in foster homes in China and donate to families adopting, it is the least I can do. MonnaOfFour, you are one of many wonderful adoptive moms that I am jealous of. Thanks for posting here.

It doesn't matter what you post to try and compensate for the measly breakfast you served your kids that you claimed to pre-prep a day before. Get a grip, "Buddy," I have no interest in the children's schedules, but I enjoy reading the tea leaves as to Kate's agenda and future prospects, as do others here, and that was the context in which I mentioned it. I have no direct knowledge of their schedules, nor do I care to.

And yes, Pity Party, from 2 eggs to 12 in under two weeks seems a lot like overkill, doesn't it?

I thought it was nice for Maddy to have a celebration for ehr play performance. What I also thought was how "staged" the party spread looked. It is almost as if Kate sets up these parties or spreads specifically to take pictures, as everything seems so carefully placed. I hope the children don't sense this, whether it is for Christmas, Valentine's day, the play, etc. I hope they feel that the reason their mother went to the trouble to have these celebrations is because she wants to take a publicity photo for twitter. At times, I have wondered when pictures are taken of hot food is of whether or not the food has become cold while the pictures are taken. In all, how nice it would be if the kids could just have their special days without the pictures ending up on twitter.

Kate,

Regarding your latest tweet:

14 eggs for 6 people is roughly two eggs per person. There is nothing at all unusual or scary about this, even for kids who are nearly eight. They are not tiny birds, they are growing kids and two eggs sounds about right.

10 slices of toast is also not all that unbelievable, as that's also only about one and a half slices per kid.

You've always said only a few of your kids will eat eggs, congratulations on forcing the rest to eat them now. What a victory. Unless you're lying again and just can't remember your other lies, as usual.

No one believes for one hot minute you made some eggs one way and other eggs a different way. You made them all the same way, doled them out on sectioned plates and slammed them on the table. We've seen you in action, you aren't fooling anyone.

It's hard to believe you think 2 eggs and 1 1/2 slices of toast is a scary amount for kids who are closer to 8 than 6 and refer to them as a hungry army. I guess you *should* be scared about the teen years, but not because of your food bill. You should be scared because I guarantee they will not put up with being barely fed for long and will let you know it one way or the other.

One last thing: I suspect you tweet things like that for the attention it gets you in your mention feed and here. Ok, you got some attention for it. But as I'm sure you know by now, even a couple hundred "haters" aren't going to get you back on TV.

Without the tiniest bit of affection,

The kids who didnt like eggs may like them now. Some kids tastes change weekly- the cereal they liked last month, they cant stand this month. Some kids are influenced by their peers- so the 1 or 2 of the G kids that didnt eat eggs may eat them now just because all the rest of the children do. Also, maybe Kate didnt prepare the eggs in a way the kids would like, and now she knows how they like them- I know some people wont eat soft scrambled eggs, but will chow down on hard scrambled. Or the kids are starving and they get what they get. :) I just dont see Kate as lying about the kids and their taste or distaste for eggs. Children are such funny creatures.

I would find interesting to know what another mother of eight feeds her children for breakfast- and the quantity. She could tweet Kate and they could compare notes on meals- now that would make me laugh.

I have three kids left at home (3 already flew the coop). Today for breakfast, I fixed 10 pigs in a blanket, crumbled and cooked half a pound of sausage for breakfast burritos..one kid ate some of the pigs and a bowl of cereal, another kid made three breakfast burritos (scrambled eggs, sausage and shredded cheese in a tortilla), and the third one ate some leftover biscuits, gravy, hashbrowns, and bacon from yesterday..I always keep bananas and banana bread on the counter, so I am sure some of that was eaten as well, or at the very least stuffed that in a lunch.
I also let my kids (two 13 yr olds, and an 18 yr old) make their own lunch, one to make them more responsible, and two, so they can pack something they will eat (but, I give it a look-see to see if there is enough substance).

Kate has no idea what it is to cook for a bunch of kids. When all six lived at home, it was absolutely unreal the quantity! All my girls were involved in athletics, and those appetites could rival any teenage boy! :)
Everyone have a blessed day.

Obviously Kate is responding to comments on how little she serves her kids, so who knows if this 'huge' egg and toast' chow-down is the truth. It's not a lot of food, but it's ok...I think Kate tries to cover up what is criticized and then try to do one better by having a party or a 'run run run' or tweet something 'that's all for the kids.' I wouldn't be surprised if she made clothing remark or take a photo to negate the awful 'hot mess' comment. What a way to live your life !

Kate better invest in a few more chickens and buy a pig if she thinks her 7 yr. olds eat a lot.Did the twins get a pass on breakfast, or did she just forget them? She better worry about the teen years, she has no clue.

Did anyone else notice, last night Kate's travel agent tweeted a link to a cruise that wasn't even Kate's? It was advertising an RC cruise to the Bahamas with Deena from Jersey Shore (!), scheduled for September.

Needless to say, that tweet has since disappeared. Quite the faux pas, especially since the agent even changed her original twitter handle to "kategosselincruise."

Hmmm, wonder if Kate noticed it . . .?

Knows Quality said...

Gee...correct me if I'm wrong - and I'm never wrong - but wasn't it Kate herself who once said something along the lines of, "I never pay attention to negative things said about me" ????

So, a few weeks back, she posts a picture of a pathetic-looking breakfast that would have Oliver Twist begging, "Please, sir, may I have another?" - and consequently, gets slammed on Twitter and blogs about starving her children...and then what do we read this morning? Just another of Kate's weak attempts at damage control. So very typical.

The fact that she dedicated her "marathon" (and believe me, I use that word very loosely here) to the haters - instead of her 8, count 'em, 8 kids - said it all.

She does, indeed, pay close attention to what the haters say.

Canuck said...

Once again, I guess Kate's latest post proves that she reads (and reacts to) the comments on her sad photos and descriptions of her amazing mothering abilities. I'm sure it enrages her every single time. I am quickly coming to the conclusion that she is not a very intelligent woman - she hasn't made the connection between the criticism she receives and the information she puts out there herself. If it wasn't so sad, it would be hilarious. And to whomever said earlier that she's having a problem keeping her lies straight, that's evidently so true! Simple solution to both these problems. Stop putting out such ridiculous information about your family. Stop lying. It's easy really. I'm not impressed by a few eggs and a bit of toast for the kids - it would be fine under any other circumstances, but since a year ago she was tweeting about going through boxes of cereal, dozens of eggs, loaves of bread, etc. this description of today's breakfast seems a bit skimpy. It's all such nonsense. She just needs to stop. It's becoming more absurd and ridiculous every day.

What strikes me about Kate's comments is that she actually seems surprised to find those 8 kids are still there and hungry! It's as if she is having her own

Does Kate actually see herself dishing out her portion-controlled meals as these kids become teenagers? As they grow up, safety in numbers will tilt in their favor, and they may actually have some say in the kitchen, and perhaps even in their individual lives, one can only hope. Her day of reckoning is coming, and it will take place right under her own roof.

It makes me so sad and sickened that these people honestly feel they love these kids and have a right to have them "shared" with them. They don't really love those kids, because if they did, they would think about how detrimental it is for them to constantly have to expose themselves to so many strangers.

You know who really care about the kids? Us. By NOT wanting Kate to reveal so much private information about them, we prove we care. Would it be nice to know what they are up to after watching their show for so long, sure, but not if it invades their privacy. I'm happy not to know a single other thing about them for the rest of their childhoods.

Mature, responsible adults want what's best for the kids, not for themselves.

Just some tidbits about coffee addiction:

Several studies have found caffeine intake to be extremely high in individuals with psychiatric disorders. Another interesting finding is that the degree of fatigue experienced is often related to the quantity of caffeine ingested.

"Caffeinism" is a state of chronic toxicity resulting from excess caffeine consumption. Caffeinism usually combines physical addiction with a wide range of debilitating effects, most notably anxiety, irritability, mood swings, sleep disturbance, depression, and fatigue. *********************************************

I bring this up because as long we have been exposed to Kate Gosselin, she has needed coffee to start in the morning, and think of all the pap photos of her prancing around with her Starbucks. Since I believe she reads here, she may want to ditch the coffee pots in her bedroom. I mean, who does that?

Kate's sure-to-win Pulitzer Prize winning blog is now posted on CouponCabin...to save you all a click/hit to their site, here is her AMAZING advice! Enjoy!

Traveling Kate Style

With thoughts of my first ever cruise AND of my first ever celebrity cruise in my head , I thought it would be fun to write a little bit about travel.

My family enjoys traveling very much. I constantly relive my many adventures with my kids. The memories are worth the hassle and the key to enjoyment is in the way you pack and travel with kids.

If you’re planning on traveling over spring break or summer (or better yet, this August aboard The Allure of The Seas with me, Cara and Mady!), here are a few travel tips that save my sanity every trip:

1. When packing, label suitcases with clearly visible names for quick access and decreased confusion.

I always pack the boys in one bag, the little girls in another, and Cara and Mady still share a bag as well. I label each bag with tags that say the same. It helps me grab the correct bag quickly and identify which bags are missing, which does happen on occasion.

2. I always pack a small medical / first aid kit for each trip.

I resist the urge to buy the prepackaged kinds. I pack my own kit personalized for our family in a small clear Rubbermaid container with medications that my kids are familiar with. This has saved me many times when someone has a headache, a papercut, an itchy rash or a bee sting!

3. Pack suitcases with pajamas and toothbrushes on top.

I learned this a long time ago when we arrived at our hotel very late at night and I had eight very grouchy and tired kids on my hands. The last thing I have time for is a deep search in three different suitcases. At that hour, I need instant gratification upon opening each bag.

I really hope these few quick tips help you travel more efficiently and peacefully. I enjoy the organizational challenge of traveling with my 8 kids and I can’t say there is anywhere I wouldn’t accept a challenge to go with them.

Good luck and safe travels. Hope to bump into you somewhere out there!

-----
Included on the blog is a photo of her from - I think - her Australia trip from a year ago - captured by a pap (supposedly); she's holding two of the kids' hands. Way to pimp out the kids, Kate, by posting their photos on your job website. Bleh.

And...I have to say....

Thank GOODNESS for her first tip of labeling the suitcases with a name - because, like, OH MY GAWD, I would NEVER have thought of that tip MYSELF!!! WHAT an idea! Labeling a suitcase with a name??? WOW!

I bow down to you, Oh Kate, in your infinite wisdom. What did we EVER do without you??!

What I find so disburbing about Maddy's "photo spread" was one day--maybe years from now, or decades--when a stranger mentions the photo spread and recalls the details of it to Maddy.
Maddy is going to stop in her tracks and think how does this stranger know about this. When Maddy asks the stranger, "how do you know about the shrimp and black and red theme", the stranger is going to answer that her Mother tweeted all about it to the world. That is so wrong and creepy. The filming is over and yet Kate is still exploiting them to stay in the news and wanting the world to believe that she is the greatest mother of all time. And apparently it is working. Kate was invited to be the feature guest speaker for Mothers.

Yes, I agree that Kate did not mention Mady's role because it was a small part. If it had been a large part, she would have announced it. I'm not saying the party was a bad idea, a nice one in fact, it's just that why post anything about it except to have something to blog or twitter about. I feel bad that those kids can't have any privacy because EVERYTHING is put out in public by their mother. I'm so afraid we're hear next about the girls starting their cycles. All this will do is make the kids secretive from their mom. Not good when they are teenagers.

She packs boys in one bag and girls in another? That is a horrible sentence. The 'tips' are so so. I travel a LOT (and pay too!) and my tip would be to have your toothbrush, some basic toiletries, and a change of underwear in your carry-on, so if your bag doesn't make it, you can still be and feel presentable. At the end of a long flight (Munich next week, woo hoo!), you can freshen up before disembarking. I often chuckle when thinking of the hundreds and hundreds of cases of morning breath those poor immigration officers must deal with each day.

Admin's right, none of them have a thing to do with saving money. But since she's never paid for a trip herself.........

Sooverit said...

Oh THAT'S what those suitcase tags are for!!! All this time I just thought it was a cute fashion accessory. I'm going to go fill mine out with my name right now.

I can one-up Kate's tip. Which is a tip most people know. Buy some heavy-duty colored ribbon/string to tie to suitcases. Each kid gets a color or at least each gender gets a color in a big family. Waa-laa, not only can you find your suitcase easily but some stranger probably isn't going to mistake it for theirs when it's going around the conveyer belt.

She probably privately RT Starbucks to avoid criticism- she does read here. And I don't think she will ever stop grifting- the world owes her. I have never in my lifetime seen a woman who thinks she is so entitled to freebies. Jon and Kate cooked up their scheme before the kids were even born, milked every company and person they could to get what they wanted for free. Add in TLC who paid for endless perks, including food, nannies, bodyguards, paid help, medicaid, private nurse, clothing for all kids and her and Jon when filming (wardrobe), endless trips, toys, house/yard improvements, etc.. it is pathetic that Kate thinks she is still entitled to these things. Problem is, instead of being grateful for all of the perks she received, she believes she should still receive them, simply because she has 8 kids she chose to have. Always remember her original premise, that she was entitled to the nurse for an additional year, because society owed it to her.

Sadly, her mind set has not changed one bit.

Exactly, kids live in the now. Nor do the little kids have a concept of "travel" like Kate does. They understand, get on airplane, at a new place, fun. I highly doubt they are constantly talking about wanting to travel in general. Or if they are, it's because they saw it makes Kate happy when they talk about it. If Kate is a great organizer, then my mom must be an organizing genius. She not only had to organize and pack for our family of eight but had to do it on her own (my dad saw her job as packing while his job was driving.) In addition to the clothes we would need, she also had to pack food and the various items we would need both during the ride and at the destination. We couldn't afford trips that involved airfare and we rarely stayed in hotels; our family trips were mainly to cabins for swimming/fishing/playing with the kids in the other cabins. My mother had to plan and pack clothing, food, games, equipment, toys and books and had to figure out how to fit it all in a station wagon that also had to transport eight people. Her "vacations" also included having to take care of the duties she handled at home- cooking, cleaning, doing laundry when we stayed at places with laundry facilities, and making sure we were having fun. She managed to do it all on a shoestring budget and without the help of nannies/helpers/bodyguards. When we were little we were too young to realize that our vacations were not vacations for Mom; in fact, they were more work for her in that she had to do everything in a new setting with only what she had packed rather than in her familiar home with her usual cooking/cleaning items. For us kids, our vacations were fun and gave us many good memories. We had no idea that our vacations weren't "fancy"- we were having too good of a time swimming and playing hide'n'seek in the woods. We didn't have a lot, but we had enough.

I think I'll apply for a job a CC. I smell an opening there soon.

I can only think that the reason CC keeps Kate around is for her D-list status and ability to get clicks. Her last blog was a throw away. There was not one tip in there 1) to save money and 2) that anyone doesn't know already.
I'm sure Kate is adept at packing with all the free travel she and Jon have been given. I would think that she'd have something insightful is all.

We always used duct tape adhered to a suitcase...it's not terribly attractive, but when you have little ones and lots of luggage to keep up with, a 12 inch strap of tape (on both sides) is instantly recognizable..now it comes in all sorts of nifty colors and designs!

Shoka is nothing more than a guard dog, and I bet a million bucks, it was Steve who recommended she bring the dog back (if indeed it is the same dog) to discourage anyone trespassing. Now, I have to say that having a dog on that large property is smart, but to pass the dog off as a family member is such a lie.

I agree she was hired because of her D-List status and clicks. If I worked at CC I would be embarrassed by her stupid blogs, and yes, she has no business plugging her own cruise on CC web site. Like I said, someone is not doing editorial duty there.

If CC is embarrassed by her blogs, how do you think Shoka feels about her writing his? lol

Kate's been super busy today! Made the biggest, best-est breakfast evah for the most special-ist kids, and wrote two silly blog posts. I bet she is exhaust-ish.

My 3 lazy (but loved) dogs are asleep this morning. They get up only to follow the sunshine across the floor. They don't know how to spell skedaddle. Not only does Kate commercialize her kids -- she shamefully promotes the DOG, too.

Kate always mentions how the kids ask when they're going to travel again. I think it's odd, really. Kids live in the now, not the past like Kate. I would expect the kids to wonder when they're going to see their extended family and loved ones.

I doubt the kids care about when they're going to travel again.

That's just freakin' Kate putting words in their mouths again- you know, like she puts words in Shoka's mouth...

She's a proficient embellisher.

It is not a compliment to say that you read both of her books in one day.

Steven King takes a day and all nighters!

I skimmed her "letters" book on display in some store. If it takes more than a hour to read, it would mean you needed to take a barf break.

I think the size of the kids' breakfasts depend on the mood Kate is in when she wakes up. She seems extremely "up" today.

Kate's sure-to-win Pulitzer Prize winning blog is now posted on CouponCabin...to save you all a click/hit to their site, here is her AMAZING advice! Enjoy!

Well, there you go. Another money saving blog entry from Katie Irene. I hope that Coupon Cabin has stucco walls in their offices- it's going to make climbing up the walls easier everytime Kate submits a new post.

Great choice, CouponCabin! I hope she's worth the money you are paying her.

I would think that Kate has some kind of iron clad contract with Coupon Cabin. Her blogs are pathetic and have no useful information. Coupon Cabin is also responsible for getting her on Dr. Drew last week and she failed miserably at that. The couponer who followed her put her to shame. I would think CC would want an actual couponer who is enthusiastic and knowledgeable as opposed to a dried up, D-list, reality star. She has nothing to offer.

RE: The 7 year olds breakfast.....I guess they didn't get that "bus snack" this morning. I thought they didn't eat much at 6am Kate. They waited until they got on the bus to eat their "pre packed, the night before" bus snacks!. For cripe sake, if your going to keep informing the world of your every move, keep you stories (lies) straight.
