No follow-up specials for Kate Plus 8?

Kate tweeted today that she doesn't think any specials are going to happen.

 Kate Gosselin

@
XXXX don't think there are going to b any ....:(

Although a network rep told People last August, "TLC hopes to check in with Kate and the family periodically with specials in the future," Kate doesn't sound very hopeful. Who put the kibosh on this one? Jon? TLC? The fiasco with Bill Blankinship?

Chicken soup is just as greasy as goldfish crackers, yet it's an age-old food served to those not feeling well.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Goldfish have dairy in the form of cheese. Dairy is not recommended for people with gastroenteritis. The first form of liquid introduced into to someone with gastroenteritis is clear liquids. This includes chicken broth, some juices, ginger ale and water. Chicken broth has sodium, potassium and amino acids. You can significantly cut down of the grease by chilling it and spooning the fat off before you serve it.
The BRAT diet is for people with diarrhea AND people with gastroenteritis. It was prescribed to me after I had a case of food poisoning from the Norwalk virus. Its made of easy to digest carbs that most people can tolerate.
1. As far as gifts for Kate, she buys HERSELF things all year round and she grifts stuff for herself all the time.
2. Kids on the floor. Sure, that's fun, if they ARE indoor camping! Or playing games or eating popcorn watching a movie. But you try lying on a cold, hard floor when you're vomity. I guarantee you that will not be a good time. Think back to the last time you were that sick. When you feel like any little move will bring on the nausea and you can't even get in a comfortable position. A bed is the best ever, because at least it's comfy. A floor would be the worst and last place I'd want to lie if I were experiencing stomach upset. Or a fever. When you're sick like that, any little bit of comfort helps, so lying on a floor would only make it harder to feel comfortable.
Plus it just goes right along with how cold she is toward her kids. I don't have to guess about this, I've seen tons of footage of it.
I would think most people would understand that, seriously. All you have to do is imagine having the stomach flu and resting in your bed versus lying on the floor. Come on.
3. I don't give a crap about her tree, but I do find it hilarious (in a sad way) that she bitched and moaned on twitter about EVERY store in her area being out of white lights (why didn't she already have some from previous years if this is their fourth year in that house?) and then got her HAIRDRESSER in New York to get her tons of white lights from Home Depot, but the damn tree doesn't even appear to have any lights on the bottom third! I mean, if the woman didn't make a big dramatic over-the-top production out of EVERYTHING, people wouldn't have much to criticize.
4. I do agree with the others that we're starting to see her unravel a bit. Sure, she just ran a marathon, but no one wants to have her on their show to talk about it. Why would they? Girlfriend is on her way out and she's the only one who doesn't seem to know it.
She's got a marathon in the spring overseas (supposedly), got the hookup I'm sure like she did with this last one. But that's April. Pretty far away. All she has in the meantime are eight kids, no family and friends, and a part-time gig writing bad blog posts for CC that they fix up and publish. For now.
I'll ask it again: does ANYONE still think TLC has her under contract? I sure don't.
Okay, people, I have to ask: Is this pure snark or not? A few weeks ago I would have had no doubt of its earnestness. But this time all I can see is a not-even-thinly-veiled jab at La Kate.
It is commonly known among healthcare professionals that many if not most "stomach viruses" are actually not viruses at all but are in fact food related. The term stomach virus is used very loosely, for the sake of simplicity, if nothing more as it is much harder to track down a food-related ailment and the treatment remains the same. The fact that it appears to be contagious can be explained simply by the fact that people in close proximity would likely have consumed the same foods and therefore become sick at the same time. Some people are more susceptible to food-borne illness than others, i.e. the iron stomach, etc. Not all food-borne ailments are of the very serious salmonella type but a variant to a lesser degree. Not a doctor or a nurse but do work in the industry. Just though I would share a little known (or not) fact.
Thanks for that bit of information, it's always good to learn.
I am with the poster, Dallas Lady I think, who said put yourself in the children's place, and would you want to be on the floor if you were sick? Not me. I would want to be in bed, or on the couch, in a comfy blanket.
"We got our tree on Thanksgiving weekend and that usually starts the momentum but this year with homework, the marathon and custody weekends to dodge, our winter wonderland was a bit delayed."
A slight jab at Jon for their winter wonderland delay?
Aside from planning her first marathon during the holiday season, this is the first year where they don't have to schedule things around filming for their reality show. So if Kate doesn't have any other "media events" planned, then she would have more time to dedicate to the kids and the holidays that would otherwise would have been consumed by filming.
Very Grinch-like of her to focus Christmas on the presents. How exactly is that blog post providing money-saving/coupon tips to the CC readers? Save money and time by not wrapping presents to avoid the messy clean-up like Kate has to deal with.
xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx
Let's get serious here. Khate hasn't had to 'plan' anything since TLC started filming. Yeah-she may have come up with semi-ideas for filming but you can bet she wasn't in charge of 'planning' for much of what was filmed.
She may claim to be the Queen of Planning and Organization but the woman can't even organize a coherent thought most of the time.
The woman frosts my butt with her inflated sense of self-importance.
Pity Party said...
I still don't get the statement "with custody weekends to dodge (out word choice)." Wouldn't that have been the perfect time for the kids to come home to the new tradition of a surprise red and green house? Okay. Or did she feel the need to reinforce the fact that as a single parent of 8, she is able to lavish her kids with gifts unlike us mediocre folk. I used to think she was lying about all the thank yous but I noticed in New York looking at the "lady," A. turned around and said thank you seemingly to no one in particular. So I do believe they line up to thank her, I really do. The only time I get a thank you/thank you is when I serve chicken nuggets for dinner (that is a running joke in our house as my kid would live off them if I would let him). And that woman has always had a fixation with trash so of course she would make a blog about it on the new job that is supposed to be helping people save money. Her carbon footprint must be huge.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

gastroenteritis aka the stomach flu is not the same thing as the flu. They are both viruses, but, the influenza viruses are vastly different from the gastroenteritis viruses. For starters, they attack different organs. The influenza viruses attacks the respiratory track and the gastroenteritis viruses attack the GI tract. Over 50% of all food born illnesses are caused by gastroenteritis viruses. One of the most common ones is the norwalk virus which is also called the cruse ship viruses. It has been linked to outbreaks of gastroenteritis on many cruse ships. They are highly communicable and spread through the oral fecal tract. You get it if someone dose not sufficiently wash their hands before handling food. You can also get it from touching infected surfaces like a door handle and then touching your mouth.

The flu shot protects you against strains of the influenza viruses. There is no way to know which viruses will cause the majority of flu cases. The scientists make an educated guess. The guess is usually pretty good. It in no way protects you from all flu viruses though.

Gift of grab said...

I guess I might be off in left field on this one. I honestly (!) thought that any article titled "Why Christmas Hurts My Hiney," which is then followed up 95% with drivel as sourced directly from the Drip, was pretty snarky.

As far as Kate's explanation for being behind, as cited by Grinch above:

"We got our tree on Thanksgiving weekend and that usually starts the momentum but this year with homework, the marathon and custody weekends to dodge, our winter wonderland was a bit delayed."

Not sure I understand what she means about dodging "custody weekends." It's not like one doesn't know when these or the holidays are coming. Kate CHOSE to be away in Chicago/AUS from 11/08 to 11/17; then she CHOSE to be away again from 11/29 through 12/07 (approximately). At least ONE of the weekends falling in those time frames would technically have been hers. If she had to switch off with Jon in order to "work" (and I use that word very loosely), well, that's the choice she made. The fact remains, we know she was bemoaning the dearth of white lights on 11/28, was magically supplied by Mr. HairDresser Man on 11/29, Tuesday), then apparently didn't get back home until 12/07. If it was really important to her, why didn't she come back home and leave for LV on Thursday or Friday (12/01 or 02)? It's not like she was "on display" in the media in LV until just before the marathon on 12/04. And she has once again spoken with forked tongue, as in, "the kids love to help me decorate" vs. "they like to come home and see it all done."

As for her saying to someone on Twitter a little while ago that she wouldn't think of hiring anyone for decorating, I call BS! For every Xmas that TLC filmed, THEY decorated, PERIOD. There are NO "traditions" in that house, the only ones that exist are those she is making up as she goes along in the hope that she can put them in some "NYT best-selling" children's book down the line.

Which brings me to the books: ONLY the first, which was WRITTEN by Beth Carson, AS TOLD TO HER her by Jon and Kate Gosselin, was a NYT bestseller. Neither of the other two approached that status. So, I guess it would be more appropriate to refer to this as "Beth Carson's NYT best-selling volume." It drives me CRAZY when she claims this as her achievement. Not even close.

It's the LYING, Kate--get it?

I can't believe Coupon Crappers wants a blog like that! This is her worst one yet! Not only is it BORING as hell, it has nothing to do with the reason they stated for hiring her, to give coupon tips.

Khate describes her gift opening "instructions" in the same way she describes her laundry "method". She is a horrible, miserable, joy-less wretch!

Kate just wants everyone to know that Christmas to her means her kids will have to thank her, that's what she wants. To be thanked endlessly for the things all parents do. Just to make herself seem special.

RE: sick kids on the floor

If you notice in her tweet she says something like not on the laundry room floor this time. it's too far away here.

So for whoever was saying that she learned her lesson and the kids were probably in a comfy bed on the living room floor, I have some serious doubts about that.

It sounds to me like she learned nothing and if the laundry room was in a more convenient spot for her, the kids would be right back in there when sick.

Like others, I suspect they are in a bathroom or maybe the kitchen (since we have seen her sitting in the kitchen area tweeting away), because those 2 rooms generally have tile or some other kind of easily washable flooring.

When my daughter was eight, she assigned herself the role of "Paper Saver," which I thought was cute. SHE knew to do that. Gah.

And that's it. A link at the end to CC codes. Uh, I could have just gone to CC and gotten codes without wasting time reading that unuseful dreck.

Whatever CC is paying her, it's too much.

@NLAN, probably, if not trained at the very least to say thank you for her cooking, for doing all those little things that most kids don't say thank you for. To her, if her kids say thank you it means she's done a good job regardless of how pitiful it is.

What I wonder is how Kate will feel when all her kids are grown and gone and spending Christmas with their families and such...who will thank Kate endlessly then?

December 11, 2011

Congratulations on running your first marathon! I admire your tenacity. Thank you for taking the time to detail your thoughts during the run, and what you did to plow through. One day, I plan to run one myself. I have done 3 halfs…and go verrry slow. But I love the clarity that running provides so I’m not in it to win it, just to feel and look good. :)

Anyway, continue being courageous and brave. None of us are perfect, but you are exemplifying that life is about the journey…and the learning along the way…and accepting yourself for all the good and the bad that you are. Thanks for putting yourself out there for all of us to learn from, and see how we too might challenge ourselves to grow.

Funny Things Kids Say
December 12, 2011

After Collin and Aaden showered tonight, I had a conversation with them.
Me: do you feel sick? (trying to figure out who is “next” to get sick)
Aaden: I feel healthy!
Collin: I feel clean!
Aaden: I feel like a cucumber!
Me: Um, how so?
Aaden: all clean and healthy!
Me: um, okay, goodnight!

Later tonight -
Mady was entertaining me and Cara as she often does at night when it’s just the three of us.
Mady said: oh I egg myself up!
Cara: don’t you mean “crack” yourself up?
Mady: nope, I meant egg!

And even later tonight:
Cara and Mady were massaging my back. They were asking if I could feel my stomach. I said “no” (since my tummy tuck).
Cara: Is that because they took out “feeling things?”
Mady: tentacles, duh!
Me: they are called nerves and it’s bedtime you silly girls!

Oh, I’m still cracking up as I write this… Or is that “egging up?”

If Neighbor is acting as a watch dog/personal security assistant, why doesn't SHE call them? So now Kate is allegedly sitting on phone numbers and addresses. Neighbor hopes she calls them. Her photo obsession is one thing, but the fact that she chose to take those lyrics - "I'm your biggest fan, I'll follow you until you love me" - out of the Lady Ga Ga song is kind of scary, isn' it??

_______________

It's one thing to develop a crush on a celebrity, whether it be male or female. It's usually a fleeting thing. One person one day; a new celebrity the next. Paige takes it to a level like I've never seen before. There is something drastically wrong with a teenage girl who has 5,000 photos of Kate on her computer and continues to make videos, setting up shrines to her, having dreams about her, putting up photos in her locker, giving speeches about her in school. It's extreme obsession. Where are her parents? This gal needs psychological intervention.

Paige's parents were the ones who blocked her from seeing the final episode of Kate Plus 8. She was all ready to watch it, practically standing on her head about it, and discovered her father was watching something on TV at that same time. She was not a happy camper and did not get to see the show that night.

I can only say that in our house, when we had 1 TV, our parents knew if some show was important to us, they would yield to us without a grumble. We would do the same in return, such as a basketball game Dad wanted to watch or a Masterpiece Theatre show for my Mom. The only time one of them would sit firm in front of the TV was when they didn't think the programming was something we needed to watch anyway.
I am assuming Paige's father made that call that night and essentially told her "Enough!" It didn't kill her, did it? Her dad knew it wouldn't.

Maybe we could have a "free range" blog, a blog about not having anything to blog about and the significance of that.

I'm not a Mom, so I'm out of the loop. What is it that all Moms know not to talk about or it will be jinxed?

Kate's final tweet for the night:
I'd love2stay&chat awhile but I'm signing off.. Busy but better day&I'm mum on 'u no what' bc all moms know not2jinx by talking abt it!:)

I am a mom, many times over, and I have no idea what she is talking about.

fidosmommy, I'm a mom and I don't know what she's on about, unless she means sick watch.

I'm pretty sure she means the sick kids. As in 'don't talk about them feeling better or you might jinx it'. The bimbo just has to act all mysterious about it.

Maybe the Big Box O Wine is talking although perhaps she's thinking that the sickness is over but has convinced herself that if she mentions it, the illness will come back with a vengeance. Hey Kate, superstitious much?

So a mom isn't supposed to ask the kids how they feel? They're just sent off to school, not knowing if they are still feeling 'vomitous' because to talk about it will jinx it?

What about open discussion for the next blog post? I'm not very interested in Sarah Palin's reality show problems, myself, and it seems if everyone still has a lot to talk about on a variety of topics.

Please count me as one of the ones who appreciates the level of conversation here!

How about a post about another reality star who is ten years Kate's JUNIOR, but lightyears more mature??? Who could it be....

Oh, thank you Ms.Krieder, you thieving kookmeister. I can die happy now that I know that the kids are being read 'twas the night before Christmas' on Christmas Eve. I felt like I was reading my own post from one year, except your joyless, droning drivel voice whined all through it.

Oh, I was, I wrote that exact same damn post and you hag, you owe me big time.Don't think you can just read here and steal my traditions, I own that and you can pay me if you want my ideas.No one on earth believes you read to the kids or decorate or do anything Christmas -like, because that would mean that you have an iota of the spirit of love and peace.

You are a joke and a grinch and a liar- there are no traditions in your house except the ones you try to copy from all of us here.The only tradition at your house is,'if Momma ain't happy, ain't nobody happy.'

You decided to start traditions now, when the kids are 7 and 11? ha ha ha ,ha ha. You told your own kids there was no Santa! Too smart too late,even Shoka laughs at you.That's when you know you're a pitiful human being. Give it up, Kate.

Will your kids enjoy one Christmas gift this year? That's what you said,so why does it take you so long to wrap gifts? Now their stockings are full of presents too? I thought you were too broke? Lies are adding up here.....

Peace and harmony don't really hang around you much,so I'm thinking the kids will have more fun doing mediocre things with their Dad. You can't buy love, Kate, but you keep trying there.

Oh, and remember when you go toboganning to take off your high heels. Will Jon get his sticky buns he waits for all year? So many traditions, so many lies. Have to go and read how the Grinch saves for Christmas- you can write your new coupon blog about yourself again!

Does anyone remember that old classic, "Dear Heart" starring Glenn Ford and Geraldine Page? I always loved that movie. Now it reminds me of Milo. Darn.

New post. Discuss the very grounded and mature Audrina Patridge, or Kate's ongoing shenanigans, or off topic, whatever you like! Thanks everyone.

This year's top 10 Kate-o's would have to be a top 100 at this point to hit everything important.

Wait a minute. Hey Jude, are you saying Kreider plagiarized her blog post from something you wrote here? Are you serious? If so, she needs to be exposed, not that it ever made a difference. Ack. She cheats at everything!

NY state of mind,

Yeah, I remember that movie "Dear Heart," with Glen Ford. Now it is forever ruined in my mind by "not so Dear Milo." Pathetic little weasel...A blind boil on the backside of America. Some people ruin things just by being .

Katie Cry- duh,

I posted that I read my girls that book 'the Night before Christmas every year.She copies things written and said here all the time, yet claims she doesn't,lying sack of fecal mass.She thinks that makes her a Mom, but not her,she just doesn't pass the physical.

She's not a real Mom, she just played one on tv! It just sticks in my craw that the sheeple will believe all her numerous lies.Those sheeple all share a teeny, tiny brain, I think.

NLAN,

Those posts were from her really? Ha ha, I thought you were making them up about her! Funny. She sounded like a 9 yr. old on there.If CC pays her anything it's too much.

I do love your sense of humour and really enjoy all the bright and witty Moms and others on here, great bunch and including our fearless leader Admin.! Love this blog.

I remember my cousin telling me that her SIL used to put her daughter in the bathtub to "bed" when she had any sort of vomiting disease. So things wouldn't get messy. And yes, the mother of that child (now grown girl) is a very odd person, just like Khate. Ah: memories
