Kate, who claims to be "freaking out" about her financial future and complains constantly about Jon's child support, got her beans spilled by her hairstylist this week. Instead of pinching pennies to survive, she was in NYC today getting her hair done, followed by dinner at Fig and Olive, a Mediterranean restaurant popular with celebs like Robert Downey Jr. and Leonard DiCaprio. If her finances are so uncertain, why is she blowing money in NYC .... or racking up speeding ticket fines? Kate received her fourth speeding ticket since 2009 this week, issued on September 11, 2011, of all days.

I have never been divorced and hopefully that's not in the cards for me in the future, but everyone I know who has been divorced who's ever talked about it will say some version of, It takes two to divorce. I respect that. This is called personal responsibility.

So very true. The bad part is, most of us are not on TV and say this stuff in public. Of course we all had things that happened or didn't happen to us as children. The best one can do is learn from it, and don't repeat the same in raising your own children. To hold a grudge or complain because you didn't travel as a child? Whooptiy doo. They had a business that I am sure they couldn't leave so easily. She went to private school. Many do not get that.

no mo worryin bout me said... One thing with Kate that I noticed early on was her setting herself up to fail by making it harder than it needs to be. What I don't get is if your so good at organizing, there wouldn't be so much chaos and stress. After all, isn't that the purpose of being organized, so everything will run much smoother. We've had seven seasons of watching her organizing. When is she going to be finished.
Of course I know the real answer, it just begs the question.

In an interview or a tweet, someone asked her what she would have done differently on the RV trip when things started getting so tense and she replied "I would have just continued my organizing." It occured to me then that Kate thinks organizing means telling other people what to do. And that's it. It doesnt mean (to her) simplifying things, or putting the certain items here and others over there, or making plans for an afternoon to run smoothly; to her it means looking for things for others to do and making them do it. She sees three leaves on the ground and thinks 'those could be moved and I must make someone move them now.' I think that is why non-fans mock her 'organization' all the time, she is using the word to mean 'control'. Control things, people, timelines, events etc. Not ORGANIZE them, simply control them.
To all who objected to what I said about Bi-polar affliction, I deeply apologize. I perhaps came across as glib about a bebilitating illness. I do not, and have not, tried to armchair diagnose Kate. That is impossible to do without proper face to face interviews and assessments. What we have seen on TV is enough for most of us to know she is deeply troubled, enough so that it interfers with her ability to function in society (Sheeple: functioning in society is not the same thing as stuffing a bank account, `a la Howard Hughes). But if comments came as though I were insensitive, I am sorry for those that I offended or frustrated with my remarks. Please, forgive me.
I am totally in agreement with Admin on Kate's approach to life being frozen at the early teen years, tho I might go up to freshman year in high school. Her current tweety relationships with underage kids is another example of her maturity level. I honestly think that her 10 years olds are more mature now than she has ever been. And I honestly don't know why I waste any time on this, but I guess I find her a fascinating trainwreck. As for Jon, he obviously did some acting out post-separation, but we all know those days are over, and he leads a very normal life for a man his age. I am also going to hazard a guess that his young girlffriend is far more emotionally stable than any others he has dated, or married, so good for her. Seriously, at 22, I doubt he had been around the dating block all that much, my son at that age certainly had not.

Today she's talking about how her dream is to have a personal assistant. Guess the personal assistant would be raising those kids for her, 'cuz she surely does not want to be doing that either. And yes, in Kate-thought/speak, organizing is just another word for control, as long as she is allowed to 'organize' she is in control. The RV trip was never going to be about fun, adventure, learning - it all would have been just so much better if she had been able to 'organize' everything in her way. Even forgetting how much a camper (not) this idiot is, that trip was a disaster in the making - rv's, suv's equipment, crew + 14 people. Ridiculous.
It was obvious to me that ziggyflo allowed the Jon bashing from her bloggers because most of them are divorced. This explains why they are so engrossed in Kate's life. I married 2 years after that. NOW I feel old! Haha. You listen to music you used to listen to 'back in the day,' and sometimes I think I would definitely not listen to it now. Point is when you are young you enjoy life with this spontaneous sense of humor, not entitlement. You do it because it's there and if you don't you'll regret being that person then.
All Kate's pushing for the best opportunities don't have to come in front of a camera and it's a terrible waste that she does. Life isn't lights, camera, action, do over. But I guess in Kate world, maybe so.

I think that this is isn't something that goes back to a specific incident in her childhood, or that she was abused, or that her parents were strict. It's not complicated. In fact, it's quite simple. Kate saw what Beth had and it looked good. This is when this fascination with material possessions began. I remember when Beth talked her into going to a spa by telling her that "me" time would make a better mommy. Beth, bless her heart, unknowingly created a monster.
Kate saw the lifestyle of many of the twins' classmates and envied the traveling, the nice homes, the cars. She never had this when she was a kid, and bingo, the light went off! Kate saw that her children were her meal ticket to all of this. She couldn't get it on her own and neither could Jon. She wanted it; she got it.
I have absolutely no basis for this theory other than it has always puzzled me how Steve has managed to slip in and out of Gosselinland without a sighting. I think that speeding ticket Kate got on the Sunday prior to appearing on the Today show was the result of her meeting Steve somewhere so they could travel discreetly to NYC. Hotel?Apartment?

That didn't stop Sherri Shepherd, who is as dumb as concrete. She made the statement that she would blow up Jon's car, totally out of line, but that didn't seem to damage her "career" on the View. The abduction is about the father who lives in Dubai (I think) ONE of the Arab states. He took their child and moved there. The mother is trying to get the boy back. I had read something on this prior to the seeing this woman on Twitter. IF all of it is true, make it public nationally, by contacting news agencies. Use the internet. Twitter, etc

I will stay anonymous for this post, but you all know me.
My husband & I went through a really bad rough patch in our 7th year of marriage. Things were just awful. Yes, we fought, but we ended up deciding that we would separate amicably after much much talking. I started looking for apartments, we were going to sell the house, & we were BOTH going to use HIS dad as our lawyer (he's a family lawyer) to handle everything.
Things were so damn amicable, we were talking one night about custody arrangements, we decided to try couples therapy. Lo & behold, it couldn't have been better for us. Not one time however during the whole mess we were going through, did I bash him or he me in front of our child. We kept it very friendly.
Thank God for that therapy. We have been very lucky & are more in love than ever each & everyday. But I don't understand how there can be so much hate w/ someone whom one claimed to love & vowed themselves to for life at one point. Had my husband & I (God forbid) ever did separate, I would assume we would be on friendly terms & be adults about it. And NEVER bash each other or under mind each other. We don't do it now!

Good for you both and your kids. That is the WORST thing is to try and poison a child's mind against the other parent. It DOES backfire. I have seen one of the worst cases of it, with someone in my family. It messed up the kids so badly, even in their 30's now, they are still damaged. Very badly damaged.

The G kids are going to never forget all the nasty things Kate has said about Jon. That is their father. She cannot ever take that away from them, no matter how hard she tries.

On a slightly other topic, I was just reading a review of the controversial new and unauthorized bio of Sarah Palin, by the writer who moved next door to her. The reviewer considers the book a flawed look at SarahP, and this is in no way a comment on how I view her personally. What struck me in the review was a description of her life during the period when Todd was away working up on the oil fields for months at a time. A friend (this lack of identifiable source material is why the reviewer consider the book flawed) says that in his/her opinion Sarah was never really the maternal type, and describes going into the Palin kitchen one evening to find the older girls, still rather young, with a pot of scortched mac 'n cheese, and Sarah up in her room with the door shut and instructions that the children not bother her. True or not, what struck me is that this is the scenario I see for the Gosselin twins not too far down the road. These are both families where the maternal nurturing has been primarily through the fathers.
Regarding Katie Irene the Chef: Come on Babe, you stay at 5 star resorts and dine at all the trendy spots in NYC, among other places. The best you can come up with is chicken and beef? Endless chicken and pot roast/meatloaf. Weak. What else you got? I will give you props for picking up on sweet potatoes being trendy.

I LOVE to sleep in & my lovely husband allows me that pleasure, on weekends. On the weekdays, I'm up at 6 a.m., help get my son off to school & tackle the day. Nope, I don't have 8 kids, but there's a lot going on. I usually have doctor's appts. during the week, & there's stuff to do, not to mention that pesky chronic pain problem, & I manage.
I would like to know all of this "paperwork" she speaks of. What paperwork? What does she need to sign? It's not contracts, no one's making offers. What the hell does she need a personal ass. for? I feel for Beth, because she really did seem like a good person. But I think that Beth is the kind of person who gave a lot of herself to her family, and knew that a short spurt of "me-time" rejuvenated her and gave her the energy to jump right back in and do more for her family. Kate didn't get that message. She thought that if a little time spent focusing on herself made her a better Mom, then more and more time spent focusing on herself made her an even better person.
Most of us realize that we can devote ourselves slavishly to our families, as long as we can sometimes step away and spoil ourselves. Then we're ready to jump right back in and work hard for the ones we love. Kate never understood that, she just kept increasing the "me-time" at the expense of "family-time" until the family became a nuisance for someone else to deal with. I haven't had time to read all the comments, but one thing I wanted to say is:
Kate "worrying" about money is a joke. A person who is struggling financially, who is actually worried about how to pay for heat in their house or how to put food on the table, would NOT be spending money the way Kate is/does. Expensive hair colorings in New York, posh dinners, tons of babysitters, Nannies and security and her lounging around in silk tops and designer heels? This is not an "every woman" Mom. This is a vapid, shallow, exploitative b@tch using her kids to further her own fame and get money. I honestly hope when the kids turn 18 and ask where all the money is from THEIR show (no one would have cared one iota about Kate if it wasn't for the kids) that they are able to sue her for mismanagement of funds. I seriously hope Jon set up trust funds and that Kate ends up working a REAL job to support her own lazy butt.

She and Kate are similar, but different in that Sarah had Todd doing what Jon did when he (Jon) lived with them. I also think Sarah is genuinely more affectionate with her children, obviously did not use them as her means of support, but there is a type of woman who just does not want to nurture. All that is fine, unless you have children. Children oddly enough need nurturing (insert smiley face). Apparently in the Palin house things fell apart when Todd was away, and honestly I don't know, or care enough, to actually read the book or figure out old her girls were at the time. But yes, the idea that you can go to your room, and hide away, when kids need to be fed, or homework needs to be done, is something that Sarah did, and Kate would love to do. I do think Cara and Maddy will be making dinners not too far down the road, when the help is gone, and Mommy is really not coping. Under different circumstances I was doing way too much cooking and housework in my teens, so I can see this coming.
It always amuses me to hear K8 grab all of the earning "credit" for her lifestyle. She has only 'earned' two of the SIX years that she has exploited her children. Fans will say, "But she made MUCH more money without Jon" and she says, "I have made nowhere near the amount of money that's been reported". Either way, she couldn't make a go of the show without Jon (karma says it was the TWO of them that fans tuned into), and she is nothing without those children.
It shouldn't be long now before she fades into obscurity, and I, for one, wish to help speed her along. This is my farewell to all of the wonderful posters on this blog and, of course, to fabulous Admin, as well. I will check in from time to time to make sure my voice is not needed again, at which time I would be proud to be a part of preserving a safe and happy childhood of anyone needing our help.

I used to laugh at her descriptions of doing stuff. "Make the sandwiches, put the sandwiches in the lunchbox, put the water in the lunchbox, put on coats, put on boots, walk to the blue bus, drive to the bus stop. help them get on the bus, drive home" Every little detail, every single motion she did. Today I was watching Say Yes To the Dress on TLC and there was a commercial using old film footage of Kate and the kids.
Kate (old haircut) was in her laundry room telling the viewer how she has it organized, the TLC person shows viewer how they can organize their closet at home for the little people in their life (old film footage of some of the tups).
At the end of this commercial TLC notes that this space saving tidbit was brought to you by TLC and LOWES.
I'm willing to bet my next paycheck that Kate and kids will NOT be paid for this commercial, but that is what happens when you sign a contract without consulting an attorney first.

Great point! If she wants her site to be a successful business venture, it is going to require even more effort and work (not to mention it's just time-consuming) on top of everything else she has going already. If she can't fit it in, then "hire" additional people to help you out. It looks like some of her tweetie "friends" are willing to help, some who probably have experience managing their own sites. I'm sure they'd jump at the chance to help her with her site...for free!
As for her business, isn't that Julie Carson May, her manager's job to find Kate's next gig? Go over the contracts, etc?
As for paperwork, glad it's 2011. When my mom did the bills once a month, I had to help her write a portion of the checks (which she would sign). It was time-consuming. I love how most companies and banks have an online option, what a time-saver!
Kate sort of gives the impression that having eight kids brings with it lots of paperwork. Uh, no. It's the lavish lifestyle, including McMansion with expensive upkeep, that's drowning her in paperwork.
She really needs help with scheduling? Ms. Super Organized?! By scheduling...Kate's probably means busy writing out lists for her babysitters, extra help, and for the kids as well. She's scheduling what they need to get done.
As a footnote to my above comment, keep in mind that Michael Jackson bought all the copyrights to the Beatles songs.
Why? So he can sell the songs and sell products with it. Paul and MJ had a falling out due to MJ buying the songs but Paul should have done it himself.
Meanwhile I will not be surprise if more old film footage of the Gosselins will be used to push other products and TLC will get to keep all proceeds.

Maybe they had an arrangement for him to take the kid that she later regretted, who knows. What's his side of the story? Does he get to speak or are we just going to take everything at her word?

From what I've watched, lying kids on the floor, freaking out because they threw up, denying her children fluids it doesn't exactly scream nurse-material let alone maternal either. Not once do I recall seeing her sympathetic to any of her kids when they were ill. Are we sure we want her to go back to nursing? I mean yes, a regular day job...but nursing, I don't know. Sort of glad I never have to work with her. I sincerely believe that Kate does not have to work for quite awhile. If ever again. I believe this woman still has the money in the bank that Jon's dad left them. We saw how sensitive Kate was when she tried to sell something at the yard sale Jon's father had given to the twins. She wouldn't work well with hoarders who have psychological problems. She'd tell them to get over it while moaning about how hard her life is.

I think it could have included more weekends with Jon (Jon is apparently now getting every weekend but one, on certain months that means four weekends a month), which thus means less child support since more time with the kids it's only fair you pay less support (oh now THAT would piss her off) and I also think Jon has stopped some trips. I think he was able to stop the majority of trips occurring during the school year, which really must have ticked her off because she had to sort of just wait around for Christmas or summer before she could film the crap out of them.
Also, how would she like it she doesn't have any rights to her kids based on a few mistakes that occurred two years ago? I can think of a heck of a lot of reasons why SHE shouldn't have any rights to her kids, way more than Jon. Does she want to live in a country where you can lose rights to your kids just like that??? If Jon could lose his rights just like that so could she.

Narcissists often do hoard money and are cheap. If she put most of that money in the bank and lived off freebies and penny pinching, easily, easily she could be living like this off interest alone.
That's one thing that has made me so angry about this situation is that she COULD have a very financially stable life. She's been telling us she is struggling which is ridiculous, it doesn't have to be that way. So now I think it was just a lie she's not struggling at all.
Her only problem is Richie Rich doesn't fit the story of a struggling mom of eight, a story for some odd reason she seems to think is so compelling.

Even assuming TLC is paying for Steve (really TLC) that still leaves a nanny and "girl" i.e. housekeeper/house manager.
A nanny and housekeeper full time run you at least $60,000 and probably a lot more. A nanny for eight kids would demand at least $18 an hour and could easily make $22-28 depending on experience. I'm assuming she goes through an agency and doesn't pull these people off the streets, that's a couple thousand in placement fees too.
Where exactly is this $60,000 coming from, the three Magi? This woman is rich and the truth is coming out.
The only good news is there's hope maybe she hasn't pissed away the children's every last dime and there might be something left.

Besides the "girl", the babysitter & Steve (who is now top advisor/road manager), there are:

someone to feed/care fo the animals when she's gone,

pool service (tell me she closes up the pool for the winter...all by herself),

I can see her having some money and living off it now, but I really don't think she's smart enough to have invested wisely. First of all, she isn't living beneath her means and hasn't been since she bought the mine-all-mine mansion. Even when all the money was coming in, she should have realized (but didn't) that it wouldn't last forever and she should have bought a home less expensive to maintain.
What I think she's doing right now is continuing to live as if another fat paycheck
is around the corner. Problem is, it's not. So she'll blow through her available
funds in about six months or fewer. That's my prediction, anyway. She'll slowly have to downsize as reality starts slapping her in the face. She COULD have kept their lifestyle modest and invested wisely, but I know she didn't do the former and seriously doubt she did the latter.
So if Kate was referring to stealing time from the mother, what about the time she stole from Jon? The Australia trip was three weeks long and they had to go right back to school when they finally returned. We all know she fought in court to steal time from Jon. I'm sure a lot of these other 'business trips' stole time from Jon.
I wonder if Kate thinks we should do a fundraiser for Jon?

I think she will never give up custody of the sextuplets, just to hurt Jon and keep control of her most precious "assets". BUt it will definitely hurt Mady and Cara when they find out that she isn't fighting for custody of them as well.
Kate was on "The View" last year and Joy asked her "do you have enough money" and Kate replied quietly as she sat down,"Is there ever enough money?" She said it only to Joy and not loud enough for anyone else to hear.
I thought at the time that that was so telling of her and her selfishness. She would take every cent from Jon and not think anything about it.It's hard to believe that those two promised to love each forevernot that long ago!

I never heard Jon say that, but at the bottom of some legal document provided by ROL there was a note from some woman at Kate's bank that said, per her (Kate's) instructions she was moving money around in the 11 bank accounts. I don't remember the banker's exact words. This was during thetime Jon (and Kate) had taken money out of a bank account.

I just came back online so I have only read just a few of the post pertaining to Kate using the word stealing. I have often thought that might be in the back of Kate's mind should Jon get custody. She stated, while being interviewed on dwts, that know one would ever be able to pry them out of her hands. That's when I suspected it is in her mind. By using the word stealing, it minimizes the act of what is really kidnapping. She always has to convince and justify it to herself first and then try with others. It's her play on words that she likes to do.

My dad died a couple years ago with quite a stash in different accounts. I was shocked to learn that here in Ut., there is a fifty percent death tax after 1.5 million. I'm not sure how it is in other states. I think I remember hearing it changed to 2 million. I think that's just crazy.

I just read that post from yesterday and I didn't think anything of it.I know how you feel,because I made a mistake when I replied to Dallas Lady, too.I told her I was glad she didn't get more injuries, instead of any more serious, as in fatal, injuries, I meant.
I was plenty mad,scared and couldn't drive for quite awhile , but it was 30 years ago.I don't remember the accident,but I remember waking up and thanking God I was alive.You have to let things go, or they'll eat you alive.
I hardly ever talk about it,but I hurt when I hear about reckless speeders and drunks and have no use for them. I saw a number of patients, too in my career that were victims of such accidents. The thought of Kate with 8 kids being so reckless and selfish makes my blood boil!

I had also heard Jon say that she had 11 accounts, but from what I heard elsewhere, there were trust funds for each of the kids, an account just for maintenance on the properties (they lived in the new house, but also still had the E-town house--that is either one account or one for each of the properties) and the one she claimed he took all the money out of. And the money in each account would have to be disclosed in the divorce, so it's not like he wouldn't get his share of all of them (except the kids' trusts).
I wonder, though...they were reported to make about $75,000 per episode of J&K+8, but it turns out that they only made $22,500 per episode. Maybe her earnings for K+8 are also inflated. The $250,000 number is more than 10 times what they made before. I can't see TLC agreeing to that. Even then, she would pay about half in taxes (she also has to pay taxes on ALL her freebies, at the highest tax rate). And her manager takes a percentage, plus 15% for the kids. So what she actually got was nowhere near the full amount. More like 30%.
Then she has huge expenses--I read that the payments on the house were $9,000 per month, plus property taxes and insurance, lawn maintenance, pool maintenance, and upkeep.Jon said that TLC paid their utilities at the E-town house, so maybe they paid their utilities at the new house. We'll give her that one. She had the kids' tuition--reportedly more than $130,000 per year, plus she used to have 2 nannies, a housekeeper, cook, and her "security". And she has been in court A LOT in the past two years, which is expensive. Massive expenses. I just don't see how she could have stashed away much money.

Some people just aren't meant to be nurses, really. In my line of work over 17 years there is always at least one who is just so difficult to deal with. Poor lady came in to have a tumor removed, the nurse she had was just the unkindest woman imaginable it was awful. You never leave a patient in discomfort nor tell them to just suck it up. People, real people are in pain every day.
Kate may think she's suited for a life as a nurse but truthfully I just don't see it. She has someone else bandage her kid if I remember once, she's the mother! You don't bitch and moan about things like that you just don't. I can't see Kate returning to work as a nurse, any other field (aside from media) might suit her.
prairiemary I hope you have since had better experience, nurses do care and they should, if they don't then they don't belong simple as that.
One thing to think about--I read during the divorce that the kids' money was in revocable trust. That means that the money is still part of the grantor's (Kate's, probably) estate, and passes to them after her death. If that is accurate, then the grantor (Kate) has access to the kids' money. And that is scary. The same article said that the house and van were included in the kids' trusts. She could be taking the money out of their trusts for all the expenses related to "THEIR" house. You know she won't reduce her lifestyle until she has gone through all of her money AND theirs, if she has access. I hope and pray that Jon is also listed as grantor on their trusts, so he can stop her if she tries to do that.

I remember taking my daughter to a concert a few years ago, and the band was supposed to take the stage at 8 p.m. There was a warm-up (I hate warm-ups, unless it's Gary Mule Deer who opens for Johnny Mathis). Anyway, this particular warm-up was bad, really bad. They just kept on and on and on for one hour. After each song, we thought it was going to be the end. Finally, in exasperation, my daughter turned to me and said, "They just won't stop, will they? This will go on forever." It sounded so funny at the time.
This reminds me so much of Brownie. She just won't stop!

Now because the site is so new there really isn't a lot of information available on the site yet. So let's take a look at another site that has been running for a while and has regular traffic for comparison.
15 Minutes Alexa Profile
Looking at the profile for this site you get a better idea what kind of things can be shown at Alexa. If you look at the summary at the top (you may have to click see more) you can see it notes that the site has a relative good traffic rank in the Minneapolis-St. Paul area.
If you click on the Audience tab, you get a breakdown of demographics that you didn't get with Kate's site because it's too new.
There are search analytics offered there as well.
Obviously, any serious advertiser is going to want more exact/detailed figures, but alexa is a good jumping off point. There are other similar sites as well.
Starz22, I totally agree. I refuse to even take a quick peek at her website. As delusional as she is she will consider every hit a fan. The more we talk about it the more popular it will get.

It would be so great if the haters would back away and let the feed die down. As much as I understand what they're saying as well as their anger and disgust at Kate, it just continues to give her attention - and spurs the idiot fans into tweeting even more.

I agree. The tweets from the non fans are working just the opposite of what they intend. It has created even more sympathy for Kate and the fans have dug their heels in even further in their 'defense' and support of her. I wish they could just see that.
Kate has been gifted so many things. I think she got free washers/dryers, a refrigerator, those crooked houses, other appliances, gym equipment maybe? What I'm saying is she didn't have to buy any of this crap, unlike us, the regular ole mediocre folk.
She has had all these opportunities & NOW I think she realizes she is screwed. No more free gifts, no more product placement, no more free food, no more craft service, BUT she still thinks it is OK to spend spend spend.

And that's what is so pathetic about the whole thing - Kate trying to hold on to whatever she can. That's why people blog. That's one of the concerns - that these kids are never going to get a break no matter what. Their privacy is still being invaded.
I totally agree with Regrets. Whenever you pop up here, it's not to add to the discussion or to comment on a recent happening, or to express concerns about kids on reality television. It's to tell the bloggers what NOT to do, or to question bloggers motives. You've already stated that you won't click on the website. Many of us won't either, I'm sure. I haven't because I don't care.
I'm not sure what your point is. Is it to convince people not to hit the website, or just to stop posting in general? This seems so contradictory because you obviously are reading the posts and you know that some here have gone to the website. If you're that adamant, then make a clean break. Don't read the blogs, don't read Twitter, don't look at the website, and don't post here telling others what not to do.
I seriously doubt if non-fans taking one look at the site is going to be enough to bring it down. If Kate wants to have a website, fine, that's her choice. I give it about six months. She's going to find out how difficult it is to maintain, and she's going to be so exhausted just trying to keep it fresh and up to date.
What I object to is once again using her kids to keep them out there. Let her run her own Kate's Take website and just keep the kids off of it.

Thanks. And I agree. Even keeping the fans updated on the kids complete with pictures, she is STILL using the kids. She knows she is nothing without them. I was hoping for ONCE they would be out of the public eye. But of course she can't do this. WHY not make it a 'kate gosselin' site? She is just such a user.

The figure I have seen the most of the house note is 5K a month. Also she was copying some papers at Kinkos a year or so ago and one paper showed 76K for the tuition. I don't think the figures are clearly known. I really do not think that tuition is as high as you quote. She said she has one 'girl' who does laundry and one full time babysitter 4 days a week now. But who knows? She could have twice that and is lying. Whatever she pays, she has the money, IMO. And I really do think that she does not have a worry in the world about money at this point. Also TV guide was the source of the 250K per episode, and I have always found them credible in the past regarding the salaries of reality people and/or stars in general. They are not a rag mag. I believe she has made that much per episode. Plus the money she made on her fist book was pretty substantial. Even her second did ok at first, then bombed completely when people saw it was nothing but a scrapbook of pictures that we had seen before. But she did make some money on that too. DWTS pay, the guest appearances, the speaking fees. It all adds up. Kate is NOT broke. IMO
I haven't been to Kate's site since the first day and I didn't notice a counter that day (there may have been one, but I did not see one when I was there).
Based on the comments about the counter, I would bet that it is set up to count PAGE LOADS rather than UNIQUE VISITS.
That is a good way to boost your stat counter numbers quickly because any time a page is loaded it ticks the counter over one and it doesn't matter who does it (ie: they don't have to be unique visitors).
So Kate, Paige and Milo could sit there all day just hitting refresh on a page and it would tick the counter over each time they do that.
I don't care enough to go look at the counter and see if the webmaster has it set so you can pull any info out of it (I would guess not, but since it's such a shoddy operation, you never know if they didn't make the stats public on accident or something lol).
I know that Kate is NOT smart in the business sense, she has proven that over and over. BUT I do KNOW from all past reports of her, and her own big mouth she IS cheap.
She has gotten so many freebies. The stockpile she had in her basement - the cleaning products alone, cost a lot, they were sponsors on the show. MANY things that add up in our life, she has gotten for free. So she had not even had to spend money on the common products that we all buy.
She is cheap, and I still say she is loaded. LOL
