The Duggar Interview

As insane as it is, Mama and Daddy Duggar will sit down with Megyn Kelly on Wednesday to talk about son Josh's history of child molestation of his sisters when he was a teenager.

Megyn says a preview of the interview will air Wednesday, with the full interview to air Friday.

Fox News, The Kelly File, 9 p.m. EDT (check local listings).

New Washington County police report.

I didn't watch the whole interview with the girls, but I read this article from US Weekly, which highlighted some points made in the interview.

4. They felt shame during their DHS investigation.

Asked by Kelly if, like many victims of abuse, either of them ever felt guilt or shame as a result of what had happened, neither woman missed a beat. "When we were doing the DHS investigation and they're asking you to tell your story … It’s one thing to tell Mom and Dad … but when a complete stranger says, ‘Tell us your story,’ it’s different,” Jessa recalled. Jill noted that their parents convinced them to be "completely open and honest" despite their anxiety.

"We were completely honest," Jessa echoed. "We told them the complete story." She then noted how betrayed they felt by the fact that these records were not kept sealed.
================

But they said that they didn't know what happened until their parents told them, so how could THEY tell DHS the complete story, when it was only a story they heard from their parents. Isn't that hearsay?

Then there's this one:

9. They don't care about going back on TV now.

"Life goes on, really. We're not a TV family. We're a family that just happens to be on TV," Jessa said with a smile, though Jill admitted she would be sad about at least one thing if the show does end up being indefinitely canceled. "We do love our film crew, I will say that! We have the best film crew. They're like family to us," she declared.
-------------------------------

Sound familiar? Is that in the TLC rulebook under "what to say about the crew"?

Yes, they were already there, and while it's mostly for younger kids, there are several attractions there that older ones would enjoy. I can see them all having fun there. I just passed by there today and for a Saturday, it didn't seem too crowded, but the tourist season really isn't in full swing yet because many schools haven't started their summer break.

I think that the Gosselins would enjoy Dutch Wonderland, especially the water lagoon, the plunge and the roller coaster. It's really not as babyish as it sounds. It's come quite a long way in the past 50 years. Its founder, Earl Clark, was a close family friend and when it began there was only a handful of rides that were nothing to write home about. In fact, awhile back, it nearly became one of those sad defunct amusement parks.

However, with the additions and expansion, it has become really nice for a scaled down version of the larger parks. Each season they add something new. I can't, however, see Kate enjoying it. It's just too much beneath her and what they have become accustomed to.

)))

They should advertise that. I'm in Chester County and thought it was still that sad defunct amusement park! Maybe we'll check it out this summer it's not that far at all

Yes, it's in the main tourist area. Route 30 (Lincoln Highway) is so much fun, especially when there's an accident or traffic light malfunction (happens almost daily). If they were filming there today, I didn't see any panic in the parking lot or paps swarming the grounds.

Kate was so close to the Rumspringa Brewery. I should have invited her to sip and sup with us!

I agree. Their stories have been contaminated. Not only were they much younger and it's a long time ago, but it was obviously greatly influenced by things their parents said to them about the incidents.

It's sort of like how police don't want witnesses talking to each other or other people talking to them. Their recollections are so fragile and so susceptible to influence, any little interaction could mess up their entire recollection. This is only compounded when you're a child.

There is no way now of ever knowing what really happened. Thanks to the parents.

But wait. If the picture was taken at the hotel, what evidence do we have that Kate was ever at Dutch Whatever?

I think people reasoned it thus:

Kate was with boy (evidence, picture)
Boy was at Dutch Whatever (evidence, other tweet)
conclusion: Kate was at Dutch Whatever

But if the picture was taken somewhere else (the hotel), we don't know Kate went to Dutch Whatever. Just because they were once at the same place (the hotel), it doesn't mean they are joined at the hip, and she went everywhere with him.

Is there some other evidence Kate went to Dutch Whatever?
---------------------------
As per the suitability of the Dutch place for older kids, look at the website. All the pictures are of small children, and the rides look really tame. I've never been there in my life, but I would judge it unsuitable, based on what the website says. There is a marked contrast with the pictures on the Hersheypark website, which has many more roller coasters and ratings up to "high thrill".

It's changed in the past few years. Kids like the water park and the water plunge ride. It's actually fun for all ages, especially if you don't want to get into the large crowds at Hershey and Dorney. There is enough there to do in one afternoon, and it's about thirty dollars cheaper per person per day (discount) than Hershey.

::::::::::::

This just got waaay too complicated for me.

What I know for sure is I remember those first days of summer vacation when I was a kid; just enjoying the fact that I had the whole summer in front of me; I was freeeee! I didn't have to pack a suitcase and stay at a local hotel so I could follow my mother around while she acted like an ass in front of a film crew.

But not Kate's kids. Two days after school is out and she's got them working to keep her in monthly spa trips and ugly French tip manicures.

I call BS on this tweet she made a few hours after she was outed being seen with a film crew:

Kate Gosselin ‏@Kateplusmy8
Summer is in full swing here&enjoying it to the MAX! We are already in ‘relax’ mode and it feels SO nice to be able to slow down&warm up!

That was damage control. She likes to keep her tweeties stupid and uninformed...if they can be any more stupid and uninformed.

Dutch Wonderland is for littler kids. We go ever summer at least twice and sometimes for their Winter Wonderland. Yes they have a few rides that an older kid might like and they have the lagoon area. But as a mom of littler kids (8.5, 6 and 3.5) I would hesitate to let them play in the lagoon area if there were a ton of older kids there. They have redone the entire back island but it's robot dinosaurs and a "dig" site. I bring my almost nine year old only because her two brothers really love it. She's kind of shy and timid so she really doesn't mind the tamer rides Ironically, I just had a conversation with hubs about DW verses Hershey park because we are sort of aging out of DW. His argument is that Hershey has Camp Snoopy for our littlest and the older two would have more to enjoy. Kate's kids are too old for DW. Hershey park is not that much farther down the road and is a much more age appropriate choice.
And yes route 30 on that stretch is awful. We come from the home of the famous "curve" and take the turnpike and come in from the opposite side so we don't have to sit in traffic for an extra hour.
OT to the locals. Has anyone ever been to the Leola produce auction? What's it like and any tips on going? I want to can up some stuff for next year. (Starting with strawberry jam of course)

What a difference between how she looks in that photo and how she looked at the Block Party. Someone definitely helped her with her makeup and choice of dress.

All I know by her lack of tweeting is that they are filming. Period. And so starts summer vacation, not the sleeping in late and lounging by the pool. That was BS so people would not know about the filming schedule. She going to rack in as many of those $40k episodes as she can this summer. Bad mistake. Most of the kids are probably tired of this year after year. They never get to enjoy these outings. It's posing for the cameras to get the scene then on to the next shot. They are not little innocents like before who don't really understand the process.

That's a really good point. If a park is generally known as a park for little kids, especially if there are water areas for them, it can be a little uncomfortable to have much bigger, stronger and at times rowdier teenagers playing next to your four year old. And a "dig" doesn't sound very teenager to me. More like kindergarten.

Let the little kids have their kiddie park. There are plenty of parks for older kids.

The ONLY reason they did this was so they could spend half the episode showing clips of their cute baby days, watch. Not because this was a park they might actually ENJOY.

I have also noticed in the past year TLC doesn't seem to want to film except on vacation. Nice convenient way to get around the child labor laws, which are much stricter if you're in school.

I agree with Admin that it's so they can use old cuter footage in flashbacks while they show them there as older kids. Could also be yet another sick and desperate attempt that both TLC and Kate make to try and make the kids seem younger than they are. While I'm happy they're finally out of high chairs and are no longer using sippy cups, they are still referred to as "the little kids."

They're ELEVEN! Three years from high school! When I was 11, I was baby-sitting and riding my bike to middle school, where I had seven different classrooms and was responsible to get to each one on time, etc.

As someone pointed out above, the twins were complaining about going to DW at SIX because it was a "baby place." It's ironic how the twins had to grow up too fast while the six aren't allowed to grow up at all.

Anonymous said...

Let's face it, it is never about what the kids want or what might be age appropriate for them. It is always about what TLC and TFW decide to do. This Dutch Wonderland place serves two purposes; yes, TLC can cut in old clips for a cheaper show and I bet DW allowed them to film sans those pesky real people who came to enjoy the park on their own dime. Age appropriate, who cares? Birthday was last month anyway, right? Just another day in the not so carefree summer.

My question is for admin and all the other legal eagles on the board. Winsome makes a good point and I can see that TFMJG might use the "we're under contract and already filming" but surely Jon has already gotten Hannah's statement/wished re: filming locked down thru seeing a therapist. So Hannah's wishes would clearly supercede TFMJG's argument, right? Surely she does not have to get up in court to testify.

So at least he can support and provide for his family (but I doubt they have a super size family)...wouldn't it be wonderful if he encourage his wife to get a college degree???

The younger married daughter's hubby just received his associate degree in political science. So what are his plans now? Continue to mow lawns or pursue higher education? Jessa seems to be somewhat intelligent so it would be wonderful if she'd get an education as well.

The only bright spot to appear out of this mess is that MAYBE this frees the girls to be able to rid themselves of the quiverful cult-like thinkin....and maybe the boys too, hopefully they can get a real education so they can support themselves, and see that women are more than a vagina.

It depends on the person. If a kid is used to the larger theme parks with bigger and better rides, then yes, Dutch Wonderland wouldn't appeal to them. If a family can afford to go to Hersheypark for a day, that's where they will go. However, for tourists in the area, or for a nice place for a family to spend a day. Dutch Wonderland is an option, especially for a family on a budget. For a family of four, It would be a savings of more than a hundred dollars for the day, and for many families, that's a big chunk of change. Many kids are happy to spend a hot summer day doing the water park/slides thing, including teens, if it means saving money and not having to drive to Hershey or Allentown.

Lanc Native said...

I wonder if the reason they chose the Hilton is because it's more out of the way, a more rural area, less crowded, more private, with no chance of the feeding frenzy of photographers rushing them. Oh, wait. Those days are long gone.

On the other hand, maybe admin is correct and this was a quick thing. The Eden is an extremely busy place this time of the year with graduations and weddings events and could have been booked. Maybe not even TLC and all of its pull could manage to get accommodations there.

One thing Michelle said that nobody has mentioned was when she told Josh that the bible states (paraphasing) that when you cover your sins you will not prosper. And according to Michelle, because Josh did not cover his sins everybody forgave him and he was blessed.

The ironic thing is the Duggars covered the sins of their son from TLC, Josh's employer, and their viewers of over a decade and look where this action landed them. Perhaps had they been more honest and address this then they would not be in the situation they are in. If they claim their TV show is a ministry then why not share this struggle with their audience. People in glass homes should not throw stones.

I get that the Duggars feel betrayal about the records becoming public, even if it was only the police report. They should note that the impetus for the betrayal came from people within their own ranks, who wanted the story out.

It wouldn't be such a big story, IMO, if they did not always over moralize on their own show. They over emphasized sex to a ridiculous degree. We may now see an excuse for the elaborate courtship rules and rituals, but what this does is put sex on the kids' minds even more. It becomes an obsession. My feeling is that this obsession was not something that post-dated the molestation, but rather predated it. Additional controls may have been added afterwards, but I believe it was always there because they bought the whole Gothard system years earlier. It's wrong, most of the audience know it was wrong and could the harm done and extreme awkwardness it caused. They want people to admire their way (the show was their ministry) but their narrow, prejudicial system didn't allow them to accord their viewers any respect at all for their believes. It's a two way street, Duggars.

That's the thing Border by their own admission they said they pretty much told their whole community, some more details than others. InTouch was very clear their tip off was from inside the community. They have only themselves to blame for being so open with their friends. If they want to say they were betrayed, then they need only look at their own flock. Don't shoot the messenger. What do you EXPECT the media to do when something this huge about a public family is dumped in their laps? Why are they special but not Bill Cosby, John Edwards and lots of other people who have been outed?

To your other point about them talking so much about sexual purity on the show, I wholeheartedly agree. They've peddled that agenda for years, forced it to become a part of the public discourse. You don't get to do that then turn around and say we can't question them and look into their own backgrounds.

Their argument would be a bit more compelling if they have STFU about their sex lives all this time. I mean even taking Kate for an example, SHE doesn't talk on her show or otherwise about sex or her beliefs about it. For goodness sake, Kate herself has a much better case for trying to say stories about the family and sexual things should be private. SHE doesn't talk about it. THEY did.

Good job InTouch.

Re-making memories. Ahhhhh....TLC, the possibilities are endless.Teenagers LOVE eating ice cream for dinner and being yelled at for frolicking on the grass! How about a Sarah Palin reunion? I'm sure Piper misses her BFF. They can reenact their adorable bonding scene where Kate snarls, "do you actually LIKE camping?" (what a *bundt). Everyone can sit on a baby potty on the driveway and pee on camera. Oh what fun!! Donkey saw to it that her kids have so many memories. Now if they only could forget them

Layla said...

I was wondering why TLC would put the Gs in a hotel when DW/Lancaster is so close to their home, but then I remembered the recent pictures Kate posted. The kids in the pool (what happened to the "tradition" of opening the pool for the younger kids' birthday in May?), the flags along the drive, which showed the lack of landscaping this year, and a picture of Shoka that showed bare spots on the lawn. I think Kate assumed that she could get TLC to pay for opening the pool and weeding/landscaping/sprucing up the lawn, just like they did last year when they filmed the kids' birthday. But TLC might have balked at the expense, and decided that a night or two at a hotel was cheaper than maintaining Kate's huge lawn and her pool. That's why the grass was in such poor shape, there was no mulch and hostas around the trees and bushes, and why Kate waited for so long to open the pool. She had no intention of paying for it herself. Those expenses are hers, all hers.

Another expert is saying the judge MAY have had authority to say they can't release the records but no one thinks she had any jurisdiction to order the records be DESTROYED. She should have order further redaction or for them to be sealed if she was going to do anything.

Haven't heard that point brought up. That judge's bogus order is not being brought up enough. InTouch has got a couple legal experts on the line saying the hearing was also unjust because the media wasn't invited to present their side.

We had a hearing once with the Los Angeles Times in my court because they wanted that family's case to be open to the media under a California statute that allows the media to come in if there is a compelling interest. They were allowed to send their lawyer and address the judge just like I could and all the other parties. When we appealed it they were also allowed to write briefs for the appeal.

What makes anyone think the Gosselin special snowflakes will be happy with Dutch Wonderland?

They've flown first class to Australia, had a behind the scenes thing only for them every place they go, places shut down for their sole use, only Kobe beef tips, boatloads of sea food hand delivered and cooked, and on and on.

Only the top notch places for them, and it has to be shut down so no one stares at them. I get the impression that the Gosselin woman does not enjoy the simpler things in life, like digging in the sand with her kids.

Highly doubtful the speshul snowflakes are going to enjoy playing with the riff raff in a crowded theme park that's meant for 5 year olds.

I have also noticed in the past year TLC doesn't seem to want to film except on vacation. Nice convenient way to get around the child labor laws, which are much stricter if you're in school.
*******
I really wonder if Kate can ever get away with filming so much during the school year now that the kids are older and missing class is more impactful.
I would think that Jon would have more of a say, too, and insist that his kids not be made to work when they should be in school.
I would hope so, anyway.

Frankly, it's bullshit that Kate put the kids to work before the ringing of the final school bell faded from their ears.

Sorry this is so long. Interviews like this won't happen again, will it Duggars? If there are any other secrets you've got hidden release them now. Just get all the crap out of the way so we don't need to focus on another two weeks of horrible revelations, child victims, sexual perverts, lies, slander, hypocrisies, secret agendas, threats of revenge, hiding out, watching Faux News (puke), and other such nonsense. Let's fully open that Pandora's Box. Look Josh, I used that phrase correctly!

Do the duggars have a porch and should we send a search party to start digging under there to look for Josh?

I think this is the crux of the matter, and I'll re-post this again, because I think it reveals Jim Bob's intolerance, glibness and disregard for others:

"They won't succeed," Jim Bob, 49, said at Booster Banquet at Hannibal-LaGrange University last month on Nov. 21. "Our show is the number one show on TLC. We love everybody. It’s a small group creating this fuss. All it has done is give us more exposure."
He added that the petition was counter-effective, instead calling more attention to his family's reality show. "We’ve gained 50,000 Facebook fans last week," the father of 19 noted (via MBC Pathway). "God is expanding our borders through the national media."

Or it could be that their 11th birthday episode is a look back at places they visited 8(count em, 8) years ago, so they go back and revisit those place--DW, Thomas the Train, etc. so Kate can wax and wane about how they are growing up so fast (sob).

Oh I bet when they are filming, that section of the park is shut down. I think that's what Figure 8 does. They have in the past. That way she does not have to hang with the dirty masses. Hope someone tweets if TFM is there.

getoftweeter said...

That is called: Kate logic & thinking. Which means, when I am silent on twitter:
1 I'm filming,
2. I am away,
3. kids are not home
4 Kate is going to an event
5. Kate is up to something
6. Kate is busy with a law suite .

See like the Duggars: the Duggars have:

Duggar time(it's the time when they can get their act together and get moving, like for a trip, appointment etc.)

Then their is Duggar logic & thinking:
1.which is the whole Josh scandal,
2. their own language:
A.Nike!= look out boys, defrauding women about
B. jurisdiction= Chores

Duggar ideology :

1. keep having kids till you can't
2. believe whole heartly in Gothard teachings
3. females are like Eve, they are second class citizens, and like merchandise
4. males are very important= they continue the name, head of the household etc,
5. males get defrauded by females all the time

Are there any more?

I really think this defrauding has a lot to do with JimBob, it's mostly his thinking. Cause, over the years, they had mentioned Michelles teen years. And Michelle was less then innocent. She was a cheerleader(wearing short skirts, Jimbob in last show , mentioned Michelle wore a bikini, cutting the grass, Michelle had a lot of boyfriends before she met Jimbob, then a friend took her to some church, and then Michelle was a born again Christian? Sorry, Michelle and the rest of you, God, does not go away, he is always with you and there, your the one who turned your back on him. So after all the sinning, you find God again? Laughable. So now both are trying to live a Christian life, which there is nothing wrong with that, but when you start pointing a finger at other people lifestyles and religions, and you have skeletons in your own closet, and you get caught or criticized for it, don't play the ignorance card, cause most people won't buy it.

I really don't care if you are a tabloid or have ties to porn, when you do a good job with a story you should be recognized for it. Seems like another form of public shaming to me, like the hair. I'm no psychologist but I'm guessing most therapists would balk.

InTouch did a great job of explaining how it took them four years to get therapy, and that coincidentally it happened just when DHS was involved. Which probably means they told them get therapy or we're taking the kids. (A common scenario.) In other words they didn't get their kids help until forced to.

Same question. Fox is just getting embarrassing now. They were all over the John Edwards sotry like a pack of wolves. And now they've been caught trying to obtain the police reports themselves. The same ones Megyn insists it was unethical to obtain. She used the word ETHICS.

This family is bad, this family is NOT Republican, this family is not CHRISTIAN. They are a sect, a cult, terrible people who have used their fame only to hurt others especially the gay community and women, who has improperly borrowed the name of some mainstream groups to do so, and we should all be able to stand united again them and their nonsense and say NO MORE.

Nothing really earth-shaking going on right now. It will be interesting to see what they've come up with.

I drove by the Rumspringa Brewery today and really had to smile. There was a group of about ten women getting off a mini tour bus. All of them were wearing bright dresses and some were sporting straw hats. No Crocs that I could see, though. I thought maybe some Veranda ladies had shown up there without me!

Another expert is saying the judge MAY have had authority to say they can't release the records but no one thinks she had any jurisdiction to order the records be DESTROYED. She should have order further redaction or for them to be sealed if she was going to do anything.

There was something much earlier that made me wonder if the police actually had destroyed the records, or if they'd just hidden them away (like in the city attorney's private safe). They think they are virtuous because outwardly they are following all the rules of propriety and such.

But their sins are not as tangible as the sin of showing a boobie or saying shit and fuck. Their sins are those harder to define like lust, fame, and other sexual sins, greed, control and power at the expense of others.

It's harder to define this idea that he is a "sinner" because he is power hungry. And JimBob knows it. #they'rebadpeople

Now, now, admin (117). It's a nice place. Don't diss the Hilton, formerly Willow Valley Inn and Smorgasbord in the middle of nowhere. There's the Kendig Square movie theater just down the road. Tickets are a bargain price of $2.50 for kids; $4.50 for adults. Surely TLC could spring for a movie night out for the family. Popcorn surprises are really cheap.

Seriously, though, Double Tree does have a lovely courtyard for brunches and receptions and special events. There's also a quaint little chapel on the premises for weddings. I was there not long ago for a wedding and reception and it was really nice. Kate and either Steve or The Millionaire could tie the knot there, have it filmed, and throw a big reception for all of their friends, ex-spouses included.

He also touched a kid in the laundry room. The report makes it sound like the same kid though I'm not sure. Unless she's a Gosselin, I assume she wasn't sleeping in there. The kid was five.

My impression was those two incidents happened after the initial sleeping incident where he was lurking around while they were sleeping. That suggests he was getting more brazen with his touching, wasn't bothering to sneak around about it anymore, and his victims were getting younger, which is a very grave warning sign.

True. But here's the thing. Families come to Lancaster County to do the tourist thing. I would expect that some of them don't have the cash to lay out for the expensive parks, and if they are in this area for their vacation, they can do an afternoon of water attractions and roller coasters right here and not have to drive to Six Flags in New Jersey. They will stay right here in order to save money on admission prices and gas for an out-of-the-way trip.

If you don't have the money to spend at the larger parks, then places such as Dutch Wonderland would be an acceptable option, and older kids can pout all they want.

But Kate is rich. She is not a family with no money to go to a more expensive theme park geared toward older kids. TLC is probably paying for it anyway, and a network with that kind of money is not going to be worried about the difference between a 20 buck ticket and a 60, that's pennies to their budget.

I don't know why it's so hard to accept the obvious, they are filming there not because it's a great place for teens, but so they can do another stupid episode where 1/2 of the time they just show old clips of babies. Just watch. It also could be that it was quick and easy to get filming permits for a quick turnaround. It would be harder at a larger corporation like Hershey Park.

Question about the Duggar money train.

I remember the 15% trust fund for the Gosselin kids, but was that specific to filming in PA? Are there any trust fund requirements in Arkansas? I thought the Honey Boo Boo family voluntarily contributed to trust funds (not sure if they actually did it or not), but didn't think the TLC contracts said they had to. I don't know what the laws are in Georgia.

I assume all the Duggar money went to Jim Bob when the kids were minors, but did they get new contracts when they hit 18? And if they did, did they just sign the money back over to an account managed by their dad? I assume Jana and Jinger don't have bank accounts of their own (girls), but would John David and Josiah (boys) get their own slice or be expected to give it back to dad? Would the married girls turn it over to their husbands or their dad? Are they even allowed to have individual bank accounts as married women? Did the Duggar girls get to keep the book money or would that have gone back to dad too?

I ask because the girls seem to live off their parents. Didn't the dad buy Jill's house and Jessa lives in Josh's old family rental. Shouldn't they have had enough money of their own (TV show & book) to buy their own homes? Or, did dad sign over the title to the houses as compensation for the show and book?

And this would just be horrible, but what if Kate and TLC want to film the kids' reactions, like complaining and pouting, because the park is for younger kids?

So it turns out the parents didn't get accredited counseling for Josh or any of the children until they were made to do so by DHS, four years after the fact. And they had the nerve to sit there with Megyn and say "we did everything we could". Just boggles the mind.

I don't think it will happen but it certainly would be interesting if In Touch followed up and did a little research on the judge who ordered that police report destroyed.

I agree that the reporting on this was done very professionally and thoroughly. I think that In Touch may even have more stuff they have so far held back. And by doing old-fashioned reporting, talking to first one person, then another, piecing together the story, that In Touch was able to find this information. I think the Duggars do not have many friends in their community, except perhaps those who are also part of their cult.

I also do not believe the girls when they claim that the people at DHS "praised" the way their parents handled the situation. That is unbelievable on its face If the parents had handled the situation properly, DHS would have been involved 4 years earlier, and further incidents of molestation would have been prevented.

I can hardly believe TLC still hasn't announced the cancellation of the show. What are they waiting for? They are forever going to have the moniker "touching little children."

http://www.inquisitr.com/2153043/journalist-who-exposed-josh-duggar-i-dont-think-were-done/

Excerpts

Was there an agenda behind exposing Josh Duggar? It turns out that a tip lead to In Touch magazine digging into the Duggar family’s background, and nobody is exposing the source of that first tip. However, when journalist Rick Egusquiza began to dig in, he says he found plenty of people willing to talk. If you haven’t heard it yet, expect it to be the source of new agenda and persecution claims from Duggar supporters: Egusquiza is an openly gay man.

Closing the interview, Equisquiza was asked if he would take on the Duck Dynasty family and find out what they’ve got in their closets next. (Not that Phil Robertson’s anti-gay rant, declarations of longing for pre-civil rights days, suggestion to woo underaged women who will ‘get your ducks,’ or weird fantasy about atheists being forced to watch their children raped and abused did anything to put an end to the show).

The answer to that, though, was telling.

“I’ll get on that, but I don’t think we’re done with the Duggars yet.”

Not yet done with the Duggars? Is there more information already uncovered and yet to be released? Maybe so. According to 5 News, the second law enforcement organization to release information on Josh Duggar released over 50 pages. In Touch has released fewer than 40 pages total, between the first and second police report combined — and only 4 pages of that are from the second report.

The Duggar family moved fast to have Josh’s police report destroyed — perhaps in hopes of keeping whatever else may be in those 50 pages under wraps. They may have successfully prevented any more information from leaving the police record room — but it sounds like the stop may have come too late.

Could this be why Josh Duggar isn’t talking to the press, instead having his parents and younger sisters form a protective shield, speaking to Megyn Kelly in his place?

http://foxct.com/2015/05/29/why-hasnt-19-kids-and-counting-been-canceled-well-its-complicated/

Excerpts

One factor some critics are forgetting is that the show is not currently in production, meaning there are no camera crews following around any of the Duggars right now. This takes away some of the urgency from TLC’s internal deliberations.

“Cancelling” the show would really mean “deciding not to resume production as planned.” And that decision doesn’t have to be made immediately.

TLC is in many ways a “red state” channel, one with a fan base among evangelicals who may not want to see “19 Kids” go. (While commentators have focused on legal questions in this case, some high-profile Christian conservatives have called for forgiveness.)

TLC has to wonder whether some fans of “19 Kids” will reject the channel’s other reality shows if TLC appears to mistreat the family.

Maybe that’s why the channel is “butting out,” in the words of one executive, while the Duggar family deals with the scandal.

That may or may not be literally true, but it’s what TLC wants observers to think. Pulling “19 Kids” from the schedule, but not canceling it, was the closest thing to “butting out” that TLC could publicly do.

Announcing something more — for instance, that production won’t be resuming as planned — risks the appearance that the entire Duggar family, including the molestation victims, are being punished.

Conversely, announcing a spin-off anytime soon risks the appearance of exploitation and further reactions from advertisers.

Thus it’s not surprising that TLC representatives declined to comment when contacted for this story.

@@@@@@@

I am convinced the show will not resume production, but there will be a spin off.

Thanks for posting about how this started. They decided to take a picture in front of the Duggar house and post it AFTER Jim Bob and Michelle asked people to post kissing pictures on their Facebook. They were having to have the same-sex kissing pictures deleted.

But the picture of the lesbians in front of the Duggar house. Viral. Gets the attention of InTouch. The rest is history. Don't you know that they wish they would have never even said, Hey, post your kissing pictures!

I am SO glad that they did!

OT- streamed a really cute little movie yesterday called "Hector and the Search for Happiness".
Really clever, if not a bit cliche.
Lots of great actors in small rolls where they shine.

I can't keep up with this saga. I thought The Boobster did just that and prior to the interview sent for a PR person in his private plane. Or did I just read it incorrectly somewhere?

The Duggars had intense media training prior to the interview. The thing is, it's up to them, ultimately, how they will react.
They obviously chose to go on the offensive, attack the media and make them the "bad guys" who are hurting the family way, way worse than the actual offender. They also chose to minimize what Josh did, to a degree that was laughable.

In other words, they took the "a little bit pregnant" approach.
Ironically.

It was nothing short of offensive to sit there and watch, and did them absolutely no favors.

How is Josh all of a sudden "cured" from his urges to molest little children? I feel it is like any other addiction An alcoholic could not be trusted tending bar nor a molester be trusted around children even their own. This is really a sick dysfunctional family. They all need extensive therapy, not just head shaving and dry walling a basement.

I hope the girls get some kind counseling, but I doubt the parents would allow it.

So it was a couple of lesbian women who posted a simple picture of them kissing in front of the Duggar asylum that started this entire Duggar debacle. They were even huge fans of the show but wanted to post a small personal protest and the picture went viral.
.......

Where did you read that? Thanks!

Once again, it's not so much that it happened, it's the lying, cover-up, and most of all the trying to take away other people's rights (people who have done nothing to the Duggars) while pointing to themselves as the most virtuous family ever.

That, and making mega bucks based on a lie. People really hate that.

I bet the kids would love to be challenged with activities that are more their age. I'm sure they'll make the best of the things more geared to older kids at DW.
I think with Kate, they know they have 1) no choice, and 2) will get to do nothing else all summer unless they capitulate.

Remember the ropes course they did? Most of them ADORED it. It was completely age appropriate, challenging, and stimulating. It was one of the few times most of them calmed down, stopped the constant snipping at each other, and worked as a team.

It makes me sad for them they don't have more opportunities like that. They thrived on that age appropriate stimulation. It doesn't have to be expensive like that, something as simple as joining an age appropriate sports team (all of them, not just Cara) is something they obviously crave. Watching them be dragged hither and yon at a kiddie park that offers nothing in the way of their physical or emotional development for their ages is just sad to even think about.

I am convinced the show will not resume production, but there will be a spin off.

I'm convinced no one will advertise on it anymore, regular show or spin off. They can't now. They'd be insane to. It's over, and TLC now knows it.

A source close to the Duggar family recently approached Radar claiming to be in possession of a letter written by a Duggar family friend about the molestation incidents. According to the source, the letter discloses the identity of the mysterious fifth victim who did not live in the family home at the time.

I also do not believe the girls when they claim that the people at DHS "praised" the way their parents handled the situation. That is unbelievable on its face If the parents had handled the situation properly, DHS would have been involved 4 years earlier, and further incidents of molestation would have been prevented.

Beautifully reasoned out. Makes no sense.

Elizabeth Banks looks exactly like Kate Gosselin in Love & Mercy.

He means, "In Love & Mercy," Elizabeth Banks looks exactly like Kate Gosselin. As far as I know, Kate hasn't made any movies in which she appears as Brian Wilson's second wife!

Hmm...I can see the resemblence.

Whoops. Let me try that again!

I can see the resembance.

“Life goes on, really,” added Duggar Seewald. “We’re not a TV family, we’re a family who just happened to be on TV.”

TLC talking point.

No, you're not, hon. Not by a long shot.

This is a classic example of a distinction with a difference.

Big difference.
Big.
Huge.

If you haven’t heard it yet, expect it to be the source of new agenda and persecution claims from Duggar supporters: Egusquiza is an openly gay man.

You poke the bear, you get the teeth.

These people, the Duggars, got as my dear mom would say, "too big for their britches".

I don't watch the show, but it's my impression that one of the married sisters (with the son, Israel) is an emotional vacuum.
She seems as interesting as cardboard.

Just like J+K+8, the success of the show was the whole family dynamic.
I don't think that a show with just the 2 sisters popping out babies is going to be a ratings grab.
Well, initially, yes, for the looky-loos, but after that, what else is there?
Anything involving the other kids will involve the parents and maybe Josh, and that's going to cut too close to this scandal.
