Rep. Fincher's staffer resigns after criticizing Obama girls

"Children, especially the first daughters, are off limits." -Sean Spicer, RNC.

Less than a week after Elizabeth Lauten went off on Facebook about the president's teen daughters for acting bored at the annual turkey pardoning, she has stepped down.

Lauten criticized the girls' outfits as inappropriate and said they were making faces.

Last night on Nancy Grace, they had pictures of BC's victims and there were 14. They also had the international correspondent from ROL and he said he was working on even more women that were going to come out. I just wish there was no SOL on rape, child molestation.

Judith Huth said she was only 15 and her friend 16 when they were at Lacy Park and they noticed they were shooting a movie. They walked over and BC came over to them, let them sit in the director's chair and then they went to the tennis club, played pool and they had to drink a beer every time BC won a game. Then they made their way to the Playboy mansion and he had asked them before how old they were. When they got to the PM, he told them if anyone asks you how old you are, you say 19. He sexually molested the 15 year old at the PM.

As for TFW's salary, there's more to the story than just that number.
Remember, there were no swanky vacations in this round of filming.
No airfare x 9 (plus whatever not-a-nannies she brought) like the
glory days, with 5-star accommodations, and all the attendant
rockstar treatment she used to enjoy. We'll see soon enough
where they stayed, but I don't get the sense it was anything
like the old days. Remember, she's selling PAP Kate now --
Piecing And Patching.

That said, whatever home remodel TFW footed the bill for may
make up for the lack of traveling. So I just contradicted my
own point. Well, at least I'm not too stubborn to admit it!

The only hint I had heard was that the Dept. of Labor was watching production much more closely this time around, thanks to Murt's efforts. They know they're on the hook to keep track of this show now. But I have no idea if they gave them any trouble or found any violations that would cause a delay.

I think it has more to do with piecing and patching a good lineup then it does with anything else. This was announced in August I think. You can't possibly foresee what December might look like in August. This was before HBB, and that changed things. HBB was their flagship, and everything else fit in around it. Now that's gone. They have to reorganize now, and maybe they're not really sure where Kate fits into that, or when. And I do think they probably don't want anything too controversial now. Yet all the comments on their web site about Kate are controversial. I don't think Kate knows a darn thing about when this is going to air and neither does TLC, and nobody is responding to the nagging from the sheeple.

JoyinVirginia said...

NJ Gal, I think it is Entertainment Weekly website has Sons of Anarchy page, and they have three fun videos posted. Theo Rossi, Katey Sagal, and Kim Coates each ” explain SOA in thirty seconds”. Theo is funniest, ” its about this guy whose parents are Hellboy and Peg Bundy”, he refers to all the characters by what roles the actors have portrayed before.

I may be confusing this with someone else, but I thought her Xmas morning routine was stockings, then breakfast, and then finally opening presents one by one per her orders with gift wrapping put in the trash after each present. I don't get the stockings either since they never do Santa, but I guess it's her way of keeping Xmas morning totally under her control. I think I recall her tweeting a picture of the kids at the kitchen table with their stocking presents? I wonder if there will be doll babies this year? When I was 10 I wanted a watch, camera, tape recorder type things. I just cannot imagine what she could buy those kids that they don't already have.

To address the Obama girls directly in her commentary was an insult of the highest order to the girls themselves and moreover their parents, who she clearly was gunning for.

I have had something missing for a couple of days and the only thing to think now is someone stole it. It was a tin Sucrets box and I kept my money in there with a book of postage stamps, loose change and paper bills. And just a few other things. I love those little tin boxes.

I had only used maybe 2 stamps. I was selling bracelets to raise money for items that I really need. I have never had anyone steal money from me before, but a U-Haul truck load of everything else, it seems. AAA batteries, powders, hairbrush, full bottles of shampoo and skimming the shampoo into another bottle, Directv remote, food, really nice drink cups.

It is a 30 dollar financial loss to me, but emotionally hard. Who took it? Who, here that I know took it? I want to know, but I don't. Is it someone I trust? My backpack where it is kept with my glasses is never further than a couple of feet away from me.

I actually have it next to me, pushed up against the wall, so someone would of had to come in my room while I was asleep and take it out. A couple of years ago, I caught someone while I was asleep standing near me and reaching for something on my shelf a couple of years ago.

This is the second time I've seen Milo praise TFW for filling her kids wants. Why does Milo think this is a positive? Don't the kids need to learn wants vs needs? It just seems to contradict with Milo's "Christian schtick"

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I guess Milo didn't read the Huffington post the other day. They have a great article going viral about how giving kids what they want, usually instantly, is ruining children. This helicopter generation of kids has actually been studied now scientifically, and they're finding that rewarding only positive behavior and not punishing actually creates more negative behavior (because they know when they stop it for a bit, they get rewarded again). Psychologists are also reporting seeing a lot more "quarter life crisis" adults so incredibly used to life going great (or being told by parents everything is wonderful and amazing) they are shocked when they are not married yet or their career isn't taking off.

http://www.huffingtonpost.com/Mickey-goodman/are-we-raising-a-generati_b_1249706.html

I think you can already see the effects of Kate's overbearing parenting style, the kids show very little respect for her and for as much as she thinks she has control over them she doesn't at all.

-----------------------------------------------

From the description on zap2it.com, it sounds like that show is made up of old clips. This is their description:

10/9c: TLC’S FAVORITE HOLIDAY MOMENTS

"This holiday season, TLC invites you to take a look back at some of our favorite holiday moments. From the Duggars’ surprise holiday gift, to Kate’s favorite Christmas morning routine, to Theresa’s hunt for the perfect tree, we’ll spend time with some of your favorite talents at the most wonderful time of the year."

http://tvbythenumbers.zap2it.com/2014/12/02/tlc-announces-holiday-schedule-including-long-island-medium-extreme-cheapskates-specials/334676/

So although the show is listed as NEW, it's most likely made up of OLD clips.

Since they're also showing a repeat of Gosselin Family Christmas(from J&K plus 8-2008), the clips about Kate are probably from there. Kate's "morning routine" is probably her "tradition" of making sticky buns, and how she placed numbered mats on the floor indicating where the kids had to sit.

TLC is really hitting rock bottom.
Too bad, so sad. Not.

redbirdsings said...

Who does that?

Puts numbered place mats on the floor at Christmas, to do what?

Open presents when chooses which child can? Was it she made Mady and Cara sit with their backs together or did they sit facing each other? I can't remember which was which, but I think I remember it upset them the way she was telling them to do it.

The poor children that receive the Operation Christmas Child shoeboxes all show up at the church for a Christmas party. They have the party and then they get all the children to sit down and the volunteers hand out the boxes. They get the children to wait till all the boxes are handed out, then they count down and then they all open their box and the screams of pure delight, smiles, tears of joy are all on their precious faces. You can see them sharing, showing each other's gifts. They truly are grateful to receive their gifts. These kids have never been given new presents in their lives.

OCC would of been a great charity for TFW to have done with her kids all these years. Instead of a circus party for cough cough her, she could have had a OCC packing party. Could of also made some for some sick children in the community and got them to them also.

She is such a lazy greedy sloth.

I'm beginning to think like a lot of people here that they are going to either wait till CA is on or perhaps put the specials on the last week of December, closer to CA airing.

TLC has on their schedule, a lot of Duggars episodes, Little Couple, Long Island Medium and Christmas stuff, like who can out light the neighbor and very little anything else. Oh, yeah, Extreme Cheapskates and Risking it All. No K8 commercials.

&&&

Lol. Poor you indeed. And your shits have never been the same since.

Seriously is this a big surprise? Of course it's bad for kids to tell them how wonderful and amazing they are all the time. It's kind of funny they are actually studying this. This is not the first study I've heard about, there was another one last year. Ego stroking and trophies are bad for adults too for that matter. I think this plays a big role in why many celebs are real pills with big egos. Because they get told how wonderful they are all the time. They get trophies all the time for doing basically nothing. So iron sharpens iron, one man sharpens another. Unless you have some sharpeners around you, the knife stops working.

I don't buy into the prosperity positive Kate she and her sheeple preach. I think surrounding yourself with all positive is dangerous because it could cause you to ignore a real negative that needs to be addressed. Kind of like never telling somebody they have a crumb on the corner of their lip, because you'd rather not be "negative." Except now they've walked around all day like that like a fool because you didn't say something.

Exactly. That's why I'll need therapy for the rest of my life. There's never been a platter full of Snicker bars beside the toilet. No rewards in life? Geez.

Seriously, I agree with you. Having a positive attitude is one thing, and a good thing, but not to the extent where you refuse to see the negative. You cannot walk through a garden that's full of weeds and say they're not there just because you said so.
Eventually those weeds WILL snuff out all the healthy stuff growing there.

But she's made it clear that there's no room for that in her life.
And if you dare tell her something she doesn't want to here, she
will "delete" you, too. And I contend that that's TFW's biggest
regret in life -- that she is unable to make Jon Gosselin disappear.

Not surprised TLC is digging up the past. I do like the fact that they are airing the fake Christmas with Jon. Kate must not be pleased because she wants the world to think there is no father for her kids. I would not be surprised, though, that TLC edits the old show. I do hope someone publishes something about how the show was staged and how the kids were tricked. Also, I have to wonder what the fans who sent gifts at that time think when they watch.

This confirms to me that her special will be aired in December. This is nothing more than a ploy to remind people about how it was and to get them curious about the kids today. Ratings trump all.

Admin and AuntieAnn, you were talking about TFW and positivity,
and how that's not realistic or helpful. But not only that -- it's not
even sincere! Those platitudes she tweets and retweets do not
scan with her behavior as we've seen it over and over again.
It's a part she plays on Twitter. Same with her chief lickspittle
Gladys. Although it's not the same situation as with TFW since
I haven't seen her behavior on film, Gladys' tweets show her to
be judgmental, snotty, snarky, unkind and hypocritical. So when
she busts out the positivity in some sappy platitude, it comes off
as totally phony to me.

I kind of remember hearing a low episode number, six or eight, and thinking and saying, it's not really accurate to call that a SEASON. Anything is a season these days, even four episodes. I think it's misleading. In her heyday they were cranking out 22 episodes a season.

TLC stinks said...

I get the feeling there may only be at most two specials, one hour each at the end of the month. Just my guess, but there just isn't enough material to stretch it out for more episodes. Have you ever noticed how in that past special after the commercial break TLC (or Figure 8) inserts a minute of recap of what was just aired? Do they think we have forgotten what we saw three minutes prior? It's just filler. With the commercials and mini recaps, not that much is aired. Really boring.

Also, have there been any promos airing for CA? Quiet there, too although it's early in the month. Personally, if I do watch TV I am enjoying the sappy Hallmark Christmas romance shows. That and Chevy Chase in Christmas Vacation are what I look forward too every year, LOL. I'll pass on Kate but look forward to the recaps. This will be good, Admin.

redbirdsings said...

Thank you handinhand and Jeanne. I have reported it, and I wasn't able to talk to the Admin yesterday, so I will make a great effort to. She was in meetings. I have been trying since Monday. The girls that work here are overworked, low pay, and with Thanksgiving and Christmas, stealing increases. That is why I want to know, but I don't. It would really hurt me if someone I like turns out to be the thief.

I care about the money, but I don't because I just want to know what happened. I have been hoping it would suddenly show up. I have never been materialistic. It drives me nuts when women celebs are dressed up in expensive clothes and carrying a Hermes bag costing 85k dollars. I think of all the water wells, food pantry donations that could happen with that kind of money.

There is another awesome way to give now. Kids in school are in arrears in their lunch money accounts. People have started going to the schools and donating money to the kids lunch money accounts so they can at least eat one meal at school per day. In my area, 80 dollars will provide food in a backpack for 9 months that the kids take home on Friday to get them through the weekend.

That purse could pay for 1,062 kids to eat for 9 months at home.

Oh, I read an article of the 15 and 16 yr. old that met him in Lacy Park making a movie in 1974. The article never mentioned the name of the movie so I googled BC movies in 1974. It was Uptown Saturday Night.

Directed by Sidney Poitier, starring BC, Sidney Poitier, Harry Belafonte, Flip Wilson, Richard Pryor, Roscoe Lee Brown.

When BC said, Come and sit in the Director's chair, Sidney Poitier's chair.

I was curious if TFW's show was listed on the December lineup on futoncritic.com and of course - nothing, however I did find this old mention about the specials (I don't remember reading anything about there being 8 episodes, though - perhaps they're talking about 1/2 hr/each).

"ADDITIONAL NOTES: eight additional episodes ordered on 8/18/14"

"(from TLC's press release, August 2014) TLC has ordered additional hours of KATE PLUS EIGHT, slated to air in December. Cameras will follow Kate and the kids as they travel to Boston and explore different parts of New England on a family vacation. Viewers will also see the kids rounding out the final days of summer with fun activities, while Kate gets ready to tackle another school year. With Cara and Mady entering 8th grade, and Alexis, Hannah, Aaden, Collin, Leah and Joel entering 4th grade, the kids prepare for new teachers and hobbies, while balancing their time between friends and siblings."

http://www.thefutoncritic.com/showatch/kate-plus-8/listings/
------------------

Probably about the time that TLC was becoming aware of some of Mama June's contact with SO. Scrambling to figure out what to do. Of course, TLC filmed the crap out of the G8 kids (in spite of the last show being very disturbing), but I do believe that in light of the HBB events have had a huge impact on what shows they want to present to viewers (the clean wholesome network). Never mind Cake Boss, who had a brother-in-law (on the show) arrested for sex offenses on minors.) Sh_t hitting the fan. Add in Blankenship.

TFW has battled Jon and Hoffman with lawsuits and gotten BV to join her, so she may no longer be the simple, wholesome, struggling single mom of 8 Count 'em 8 kids, that they originally presented.

Much has changed in the "reality" of who some of these people truly are, and some of the back lash of all that is coming out.

Time will tell if TLC finally gets they need to dump some of the shows, due to liablility issues.

I do think TFW will get a couple of 1 hour shows, but that will be so they don't get sued by TFW as they promised her some more air time. Not sure it will go beyond that, as they are promoting newer shows, with less use of kids.

Remember when TFW shared that whenever she got an email that
wasn't nice, she'd immediately press "delete?" That was back
when I thought she seemed like a good egg, and who could blame
her for not wanting that negativity? But, geez, you're gonna have
to hear some criticism some time in your life. It doesn't have to
be said harshly -- maybe just some constructive, honest feedback.

&&&

Feedback. Great word. She doesn't have to listen to people call her names. But she doesn't want to hear any FEEDBACK. Any constructive feedback. This is why Beth is gone, Jodi, Jon, and many others. Because they gave her feedback and she didn't want to hear it. It's a terrible way to live life.
------------------------

And then she created a Twitter account, and instead of ignoring comments, aligned with BV. I don't twitter/tweet.whatever, but wouldn't it be easier to block comments as she did with email, and to simply ignore them. Very confusing messages she sends when she wants people to contact her.

I don't do twitter and don't agree with a lot of the harsh repetitive comments, but by now, can't she block/delete comments, if she chose to open herself up to social media?? Don't most people submit themselves to this when they have a social media account? Just wondering what makes her different. She can report any twitter stalking to Twitter, right?

I remember that episode when she said that. She was sitting on the couch with Jon. About that same time, I was starting to dislike her controlling, bitchy ways more and more so I sent them a direct email (you could back then) and I blasted her. I said that Jon was nothing more than a p**y-whipped weakling around her and that house, it was embarassing to watch and that she ought to be ashamed of how she was coming across to the viewers. Kind of egocentric but I was hoping she was talking about my email. heh heh heh

Sayitisntso (#63), if TFW didn't block the negativity, it'd blow her

odd little dynamic that is. How either of them has the time, energy or interest for that nonsense is beyond me.

By the way, your new posting name always has me humming the

*******
Actually, as long as TLC paid Kate for the filming, she can't sue them if they chose not to air the shows. Similar to how they filmed a pilot for Twist of Kate and then threw it onto some dark dusty shelf.

Maybe the filming was done to provide them with possible filler shows, should they need them. Since there has yet to be any mention about these shows on TLC's website, or in their televised promos, I wonder if execs made a decision to just can them. Apparently, TLC would rather air episodes of Extreme Cheapskates, or Duggar re-runs, instead of Kate and the children going back to school shopping.

This just occurred to me. If it's been discussed here I apologize.

I wonder if TLC knew that she had aligned herself with a group that own websites condoning what some people are calling "revenge-porn" and that make people pay to have their stuff removed?

I wonder if anyone ever reported this to TLC or Discovery.

----------------------

Gladys alternates between platitudes and cute animal pictures to get Kate's attention. When one doesn't work, she moves on to the next. It's funny because she and Sandie do the same thing. When one is on the cute animal photos, she tries to outdo the other. I think right now they've taken to the "wise words" theme to get Kate to notice and retweet.

I don't know what to make of this BC situation. At first I thought, gosh, six or so women really have no reason to make up this stuff. If this is true, then he should have received a jail sentence. Then more and more showed up, and I'm not sure if that's helped or hurt his case. Would more women coming forward make it seem more credible or less credible if you consider that maybe these women just want their day in the media?

I'm surprised it took Allred this long to jump on this. She's calling for him to waive the SOT or put 100 million into a settlement fund. If he'd do the latter, what is to stop more and more women from coming forward with money in mind? Either he was a horny lecherous pervert or these women are riding a gravy train, hoping to get a huge settlement out of this. With Allred inserting herself into this, what's to stop another dozen women from saying that hey, BC touched my breast at a party fifty years ago and now I deserve half a million dollars? I don't know....I'm just beginning to wonder about this whole thing. I was also surprised that his alma mater cut all ties with him so quickly. Did they do an investigation? If it were just rumor and gossip and some women getting together and making these accusations, wouldn't you think the school would try to find out how credible this was before believing them, the old innocent until proven guilty? If none of it were true, why would they have been so fast to distance themselves from him, and why would the networks stop airing his shows? It would seem that they know something. Rumors and gossip fly all the time in the entertainment industry, but most of it is just taken with a grain of salt and we never really know about it. This time it's different. Maybe we'll never really find out.

Disclaimer! I am not saying that these women are liars or that they are to blame if assaults took place!

Mel said...

Hmmm....

Interesting that Marty Singer's wife has volunteered for years at a rape treatment center.

At the end of the article:
“I have never said that rape victims shouldn’t come forward, and I am a big supporter of the Rape Foundation,” said Singer, a father of two daughters. “Cosby has never been [criminally] charged with rape. If he were charged with rape, that would be different.”

Singer has disputed some of the women’s claims, and has pointed out that one Cosby accuser was an ex-con and a drug addict. “Am I defending him? Yes,” Singer said. “But I’ve been very selective who I’ve called a liar. I’m attacking the media, not the women.”

He's been very selective who he's called a liar. As in, some/most of the women are telling the truth?

How can BC fight this anyway? Sit down with Marty and the list of 19 women and say, well, I assaulted these two, not that one, probably that one, the next 4, not that one, the next five, the next two are iffy?

Millicent said...

Redbird - I'm sorry for the apparent theft of one of your items. I think you said you live in a convalescent/nursing home-type situation. My grandmother spent a brief period of time in a nursing home, and we quickly learned not to leave anything with her that was of any value (monetarily or sentimental value). My mom had purchased a new nightgown for her, and it was gone the next day. The same with my sister, who was in a assisted care living situation for years. We would buy her inexpensive pull on pants, plain t-shirt tops, etc., so that if they went missing, they were easily replaced.

Mel said...

Well, now. This is interesting. It doesn't prove anything, but it's interesting. Coincidence? Maybe. Probably not.

http://www.crushable.com/2014/12/02/entertainment/30-rock-bill-cosby-sexual-assault-the-bubble-season-3-episode-15/

And another article about that:
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-2859444/Did-30-Rock-predict-Bill-Cosby-scandal-TV-aired-rape-joke-comedian-FIVE-years-ago.html

Hannibel Buress who started this whole thing to be more publicly acknowledged by calling out BC in a comedy routine in October was a writer on 30 Rock, although it was after that episode was written.

A quote from the second article: In 2005, it was a dark joke that most likely went over most viewers' heads. But, it's unlikely the joke was crafted randomly.

A quote from the first article: But now, knowing what we do about Bill Cosby allegedly sexually assaulting several women, this reference seems to be much more than a throwaway joke. While there’s always the possibility that it’s a crazy coincidence, that seems incredibly unlikely. Of all the comedy legends, they chose this one to accuse of sexually assaulting a woman back in the ’70s. Okay.

Mel said...

I hear what you're saying, Blowing in the Wind.

It's hard. Just because some, one, a few, women are hangers on, lying, exaggerating, whatever doesn't mean that they all are. My suspicion is that most of them are telling the truth.

I kind of think that BC is telling some places, like his alma mater, to cut ties because he knows that some (or all) of it is true.
My suspicion is that he *did* drug women in order to assault them. Maybe not everyone on this particular list of women, or maybe not in the exact way that each one is saying, but he's drugged/assaulted lots of women throughout his lifetime, and he has no idea who all is going to come out of the woodwork.

Redbird, Millicent is right. Sadly, it was staff in my aunt's (very nice) facility who stole from clients. She had to take her purse with her everywhere, and had a small safe put into her room- which they tried to make as home-like as possible. She was robbed of some jewelry and cash and some other items on her nightstand. Most staff are wonderful people, but there are some who are not. This was true in regular hospitals as well, where I worked a s a RN for many years. That's why hospital patients are asked to leave valuables at home, but if you are in along-term facility you want your things with you. I would recommend a safe.

I'm wondering if the admins of the nursing home have thought about giving the residents an option of having safes in their rooms, similar to what you find in some hotels. They're pretty small and can be installed in closets pretty easily - and they're fairly reasonably priced. Maybe they could install them in the rooms and rent them to the residents for a nominal fee? Or, maybe ask Santa for one or spread the word that it's something you're saving for? Take care!

Auntie, as usual a sharp, humorous comment...this time on potty training. I'm the second in line of 8 (count'em)...my mother had neither the time, nor money to coddle or reward me in that venture. I have no recollection of how it was achieved...but none of us were in diapers after 18 mos. at most.

Insofar as gift opening goes, I'm all for a one at a time approach. Gifts should be appreciated: in my case, we gave to each other, grandparents and relatives sent gifts, then there were Santa's and parents. We always wrote thank you notes. The routine was stockings, breakfast, then presents.

I've attended friends' gift openings in recent years. I'm appalled at the manic behaviours, and feel badly when something is just tossed aside, the better to get to the next one. Seems no one knows who gave what to whom.

I don't have any specific recollection of potty training either. I was the 4th of 8 children, and back in the day, there were no disposable diapers. It was all cloth. However, my mother is and was a very patient and kind parent. I don't think I got any reward beyond "good girl!", and I sure don't remember being punished for any accidents.

As to Christmas gifts and traditions - we always have opened gifts one at a time, while the rest of the family watched and ooh'd and ahh'd over each gift. Often, the gift is passed around from person to person, so we can each get a good look and admire it. People lose out on the agony of anticipation by having a free for all. I can still remember how hard it was to wait my turn to open another gift. I had to wait through 7 other siblings plus my two parents!

In the last ten years or so, we now open one gift each on Christmas Eve. Then we have our stockings in the morning, another gift before breakfast, and then open the rest of our gifts after breakfast. The rest of the morning and early afternoon are usually a haze of collecting wrapping paper, having another cup of coffee with a Christmas cookie or petit four, and trying to get up some energy to go for a brisk walk.

Oh and this is what I love. My middle school did PP when we all were kids. We did a good job for our ages, we took it very seriously. We even had PP fly a little bit, swinging from a harness back and forth during the "i'm flying" song. I helped with the sets, taking things down between scenes, etc. Browsing FB, a bunch of us are posting old photos from the production and saying "remember when this....?" My memory was of a certain line that somebody kept flubbing up and so we had some kids sit in the front row of the audience during rehearsals holding up big signs with the RIGHT LINE to help get it to sink in. LOL, they got it!

FB is really cool for stuff like this. We live all over the country. There's no way we could reminisce like this so easily without FB.

giggle, so I put the whole title!), but it awaits on DVR.

I half expected to wake up to find a comment from one of our
drive-by curmudgeons saying they haven't seen the show yet,
and these "play-by-play" comments spoiled it for them. Or
to ask why we're so worried about the G kids, but haven't
done anything to help the Lost Boys. And...oh yeah, they
read here every day, and they hate TFW as much as the next
person, but it's probably Jon's fault that you could see the

Every time I see him I think of Natalie Wood. There's a story in the Enquirer (yes, I know, but still...) about him and RJ having an um, passionate moment right before she died and she caught them at it.
I think it sounds far-fetched, but of course we thought Cosby was the quintessential American dad.

I always think of Natalie Wood when I see Christopher Walken. It's one of Hollywood's greatest mysteries, and I've never bought any of the explanations.

Well, ladies, still no sign of the new K+8 episodes, which is only sad because we're missing admin's recaps.
But…that doesn't mean we can't do a Pre-cap, does it? Is there such a thing? If not, then we just invented something. (Yay, us!)
Without further ado, here is Layla's Pre-Cap for the first K+8 special:

First scene: Kate and the kids are at home packing. Actually, it's the kids doing all the packing while Kate barks orders. Okay, really it's the boys packing while Kate and the girls bark orders. The boys have to share one suitcase. The girls each get two. Kate gets 8 (because she has 8 kids, dontchaknow). The boys haul all the suitcases out to the van and load them up in 90-degree heat. Kate complains about how much work it is to have to mastermind everything. Collin complains that he sprained his elbow from all the heavy lifting. Kate tells him to suck it up. Hannah says she has a hangnail. Kate offers to take her to the emergency room.

Next scene: Kate gathers the kids around to give them their clues about where they are going. She places a picture of herself and a rock on the table. Kids can't figure it out. Kate tells them, "It's Boston! See, there's a picture of me, and I'm the boss and that's never gonna change. And there's a rock, and it weighs a lot more than a pebble, so it's probably a ton. Boss plus ton equals Boston!" Kids groan in embarrassment. Cara hides under the table.

Scene 3: Kate and the kids are driving to Boston. Kate bitches non-stop about how non-posh this trip is. The kids complain about the long drive.

Scene 4: Walking around Boston. Kate points out old-looking buildings and tells the kids they must be history-ish because they're old. The kids ask what the buildings are. Kate tells them to be quiet. They also look at some statues. The kids ask who the statues are of. Kate tells them they're giving her a headache. Kate puts her arm around a statue and asks it, "So, are you single"? Cameraman tells her, "You already did that in the Philly episode, Kate".

Scene 5: Plimoth (why do they spell it that way?) Plantation. Kate and kids get out of the BBB, walk to the entrance. Kate starts telling the kids about the pilgrims. Kids say they learned all that in school. Kate tells them to be quiet and listen. Kate explains that the pilgrims came to America on the Mayweather. Mady tells her, "Mom, it was the Mayflower. Mayweather was a boxer". Kate says, "No, I'm sure it was the Mayweather. Anyway, they landed in Boston in, like, 1976 or something". Kids roll their eyes.

Final scene: The gift shop. Hannah asks Collin if he likes her fake pilgrim costume. Collin tells her he's seen her look better. Hannah tattles to Kate, who berates Collin for half an hour about tact. Collin says, "But that's what you told me to say in our last special". Kate answers, "That's only for when you're talking about hair".

Final scene: Leaving Plimoth Plantation. Cameraman asks the kids how they liked the trip so far. Kids say it was boring and lame and they hate TLC for making them go there. Finish with Kate blathering endlessly about how fun and educational-ish travel is, and in the spirit of fun and education, shouldn't TLC send them on an all-expense paid trip to Europe instead of some lame road trip in America next time?

Coming soon: Maine trip pre-cap!

#SisterWives is back! The Browns will return on Jan. 4 with a two-hour premiere at 9/8c! http://ow.ly/FnwM8 via @TheWrap

So they're promoting a show that airs in January, but still no word about Kate's show which was supposed to air this month?

They also started promoting The Little Couple a full month before their new season premiered.

Perhaps they ARE waiting until CA starts airing(or is finished airing) in order to capitalize on that, or they have decided to postpone it indefinitely.

I'll add a bit:

Kate and the kids are walking around Boston and see a park named Boston Common. The kids want to go ride on the swan boats, and ask Kate about why it's called Boston Common. Kate tells the kids that it's a park for the mediocre folks and they can't go because she doesn't do mediocre for her kids.

FYI said...

Scene 5: Plimoth (why do they spell it that way?) Plantation
========

Layla--here's your answer, from the Plimoth Plantation website.

Why is Plymouth spelled "P-l-i-m-o-t-h"?

Museum guests often question the unusual spelling of Plymouth in Plimoth Plantation. Plimoth is an old-fashioned spelling used by Governor William Bradford in his history of the colony, Of Plymouth Plantation. This spelling was adopted to differentiate the Museum from the modern town of Plymouth. There were no rules for the spelling of English words in the early 17th century, and each writer did as he or she pleased, phonetically spelling the word as seemed fit – sometimes differently on a single page. Plymouth is spelled a number of ways in colonial documents, including Plymouth, Plimouth, Plymoth, and Plimoth. When Plimoth Plantation was founded, it was decided to use Governor Bradford's most common usage, Plimoth.

TLC MAY be planning to show filmed episodes closer to CA, but with HBB gone and no Cake Boss shows, I get the sense, TLC may be done with shows with kids. Time will tell. Never mind the TFW controversy, TLC may now be moving in a new direction, without exploiting kids - who knows what they are thinking, BUT she is selfish, greedy, and kids are now much older, so I hope they retire this show.

Too much work. Too hard.

Now, the kids is trying to piece and patch together his tuition, which will never happen, so poor neighbor mom is faced with footing the bill and probably working until she's 90-years old.
I hope she tells him "tough shit, kid".
********
I hope for both their sakes, she does tell him that he'll have to figure out a way to pay for college. If he really wants a college education, he'll find a way. If not, so be it. But clearly, handing him a wonderful opportunity was not appreciated.

My parents were always there to offer advice and support, but they believed that their children were capable of figuring things out on their own. The best thing they did was allow us to make our own mistakes and then clean them up, without saying "I told you so." My dad would occasionally offer advice, but only once for any one situation. He felt that once he said his piece, that was good enough and he would then keep his nose out our business. (Of course, this started in small ways when we were younger kids - such as spending our hard-earned allowance money on some item that was likely to break on its first use. As we got older and were in junior or senior year of high school, we were allowed to make more serious decisions on our own. It must have been hard sometimes for my parents to bite their tongues, but they showed us respect by allowing us to learn some things the hard way.)

One important lesson I have learned is that most people value things that they really had to work for. But if something is handed to them, often they don't have the same appreciation.

Thank you Flimsy Flamsy! I have an idea! Maybe WE, the blog, could do 2 boxes, one for a girl and one for a boy! From the Ladies of the Veranda!

One of my good friends is the Collection Center Coordinator and has a huge territory. The goal was 29K and we almost got it! When they first started doing it they only had 2 little trucks to take them to Atlanta. Last month, they had 3 semi-tractor trailer loads and had to call them and tell them they needed another semi! That was exciting!

A tech at the clinic surprised me, telling me that she bought all the things I had told her I wish I could put in a box for a boy and she went and fixed a box just like I would of fixed it. She surprised me and brought me a nice Christmas card to write on and put it in the box for me. I was so stunned and bawled my eyes out, profusely thanking her.

What was more wow, was she lived in a different district than me and she then told me somehow something happened and it was sent to my district and went with those boxes. So it was like I went and bought everything and sent it in like normal. I love angels like this that help you give you the desires of your heart!

The avatar is suppose to the shoebox lids.

Well, I see that Kate does not even know when the K8 specials are to air. It seems that TLC has changed the date, according to Kate.
So, all of us here that agree and said that, K8 will probably air around the CA show, we are probably right.

TLC is hoping for knock out ratings, cause of CA. I'm thinking just the opposite will happen, it seems TLC is gambling.

Really, when you think of the celebs that are going to be on CA, none are worth watching, with maybe, the late Joan Rivers, other than that, from what most of us already saw, we already know when Kate will be kicked off, we already know what they are going to do, so why even bother to watch. Most of the show was leaked, when they were filming it. And anyone out there who is over excited to see the show is and idiot, that has been living in a cave or a Kate fan. JMO

Oh yes I'm sure it will air soon haven't heard I've been so busy busy busy here! lol, she's not fooling anyone.

And I'm betting it's not that they are "changing" the air date, it's that they aren't exactly sure where this will fit into their lineup at all in the first place. I don't think they have an air date at all.

&&&

Hahaha.

She has no say at all and I'm betting big bucks she knows nothing other than "we'll tell you when we tell you, if we feel like telling you."

Networks have no obligation to keep their talent informed about what is going on. Even though she thinks this is "her" show, it's not. It's TLC's show. She's just the "talent." They've taken what they want from her and fulfilled their contractual obligations to her, now the rest is up to them and if they get around to explaining to her what is going on they might, if they don't, it's no skin off their backs.

And you're right the funniest part is her trying to act all casual about it. Like this is not driving her absolutely crazy one that she is being left out of the loop her being the big time producer of this and all, and two that she has no control and there's nothing she can do about it.

I'm going back to my original theory. They have too much controversy going on right now and they don't need any more of it, even a smaller scale controversy like her and the child abuse, Jon and the DOL. I think there were enough negative comments about the child abuse on their web site for them to put this on the shelf for now and air cupcake shows and little people this winter season. They'll figure her out later, if ever. Ah, karma even small bits of it, is so fun.

I would think so. You're usually paid for making the body of work not for it actually airing.

Actors all the time do projects that don't air, and they get paid. There are literally hundreds of pilots sitting on shelves, gathering dust, that will never see the light of day. All those people got paid.

The only thing that it could affect is if she were somehow able to negotiate residuals contrary to the common practice with reality stars, then she's not getting any money for re-airings because they won't be re-airing it., But they rarely re-air her show anyway so that doesn't matter much, and residuals are in addition to your pay for making the episode, not in place of it.

Because one of the victims was a minor, does this mean that he can be prosecuted for molestation or rape? Regarding California law, I found this. It's confusing because we don't know if and when she reported this to the police. Does coming out now with this story, and talking with police mean that this is an official report?

"What remains is a 10 year statute of limitations for child molestation. HOWEVER, the crime can also be prosecuted within one year of WHENEVER a victim tells the police (even past the 10 year mark). This sounds rather contradictory, because this means that the 10 year limitation is essentially pointless, but it is the current law of the land. The California legislature is constantly debating about this, so the law may change in the near future."

"There is, however, a giant loophole in California statute of limitation law. Molestation charges can also be brought one year from the date it is reported to the authorities regardless of when that happens, and even if the ten-year time limit has expired."

Yes, she is outting herself with her constant tweets about wanting to meet celebs. I questioned her motives when almost all her photos of the event were of Kate. Very few were of the guests, the zumba, and other activities at the fundraiser. I also questioned her when she lavished Kate with gifts, the uggs, the ornament. Her subsequent tweets showing she just wants to pony up to celebs reveal what she's really about.

I think she used the death of two precious girls as a vehicle to get to spend time with a celebrity she admires, and I find that pretty low. I don't care if you are one of these celeb obsessed people that's your choice, but don't use other's misfortunes to get what you want.

I think that she's just really weird, and lonely, even with her "hot" friends that she uses to entice celebrities to meet up with her. Something is very off there, and when she pestered Kate to be invited to her pool, that's when I realized that she's a celebrity junkie. She also offered her son to tutor one of the girls in math, and it was really creepy when she tweeted Kate calling her a best buddy and telling her that she missed her and would always be there for her if she needed her. Why in the world would Kate need her, and for what?

She does seem to get around, though, to Florida, New York, Atlantic City, chasing after celebrities and trying to grift free tickets to shows. I guess she thinks that one of these days she'll hit pay dirt!

I'm sure that with her it's all about what she can give them that Jon can't.

Why would it make Kate smile? Yes,it's cute, sort of, to make a list of the things you want, but not really Christmas spirit to be shared. I mean, of course Aaden should make a list, but it is not really nice to put on Twitter. How about a random act of kindness- that means so much to the G family *snark*? All kids want toys- that's part of Christmas. I just think that should not be put on Twitter. Not sure why it gets my knickers in a twist...??? I have two greedy kids ( young adults) of my own lol but I would rather Tweet if I did Tweet, something kind that they did.

What might genuinely be a sweet mother/son moment is now
public. Maybe a 10 1/2-year-old boy doesn't want anyone to
know he's still making a Christmas list? Heck, perhaps he
should write down "privacy," and see if he gets it this year.

Did anyone take the bait and ask what was on A's list?

Not sure how old this is. There is a link on the current huffpo canada website, but that doesn't mean it's current.

Has the Mama June / Dr. Phil interview already aired?

And will previous interviewers be asking K for a refund of interview fees?

Looks to me like the kid finally got a turn with the ipad and snuck off before someone else grabbed it.

TFW bores me, but on an upside Sons of Anarchy is right at my fingertips.

I am going to hopefully binge now, if I like it

and thanks to all for your sympathies, I am working through it, and appreciate you all

I was wondering that, too. Doesn't she usually start grifting for the kids' gifts earlier than this? I really think that quite a few sheeple have left the flock.

Yes, Milo, until his media hungry mom invades his space and puts it out on Twitter. Let the child have his privacy, Kate...maybe he just wanted to get away from you! She just doesn't get it. Neither does Gladys.

Remember when Collin apparently put 'Cara" on his list? That really should not have been tweeted.I think I recall she said she bought a few presents for herself or 'the kids would be sad."

Kate is such an airhead. She replies to a tweet, but doesn't even realize the context of the tweet:

Carmelo Rolon ‏@crolon75 · 3h3 hours ago
@Kateplusmy8 not to bring this up! but i can't believe i saw Jon at the gas station over here in West Reading on 4th & Penn Ave.

Carmelo Rolon ‏@crolon75 · 3h3 hours ago
@Kateplusmy8 drivin' in one of those jeeps, black wit' a hard top! 😏

She thinks the second tweet is about Aaden making his Christmas list and replies:

Kate Gosselin ‏@Kateplusmy8 · 42m42 minutes ago
@crolon75 this is HIS Christmas list..Not YOURS lol..Give him some time tho, bet a car could make its way on2 his list? #DoesntFitUnderTree

Then she finally realizes her mistake:

Kate Gosselin ‏@Kateplusmy8 · 42m42 minutes ago
@crolon75 thought you were talking about Aaden's Christmas list ... Lol.. Nope, you weren't lol

LOL, Kate, you should actually think before you reply and know what you're replying to.

I haven't really been following the CA publicity. Is this true? Was she the first one fired and how did she cheat?

Alfie ‏@AlfredoCocozza 6m6 minutes ago
@bluestar_nicole @Kateplusmy8 <--- got fired from CA after 2 weeks. She was the 1st one fired. Everyone hated her b/c she was lazy & cheated

I see Aaden is sitting on his assigned stripe to make his Christmas list. I feel bad nothing is private for those kids. Maybe Cara can tutor them on how it is done when Kate takes private moment pictures to stay private. The day is coming when these kids all rebel against her. Imagine 8 teenagers and 5 girls with their monthly "visitor" in that house.

foxy: lol..actually that would be a big expense. Better start grifting @Tampax and @ Kotex NOW. I mean, if you ask for free toilet tissue, nothing else is off limits

Who knows- it seemed like TFW was at least on the bridal expo, the Pie Face, and some shoes episode. DT likes to keep "controversial contestants" on for ratings.

The difference is that with DWTS, cast are much kinder and probably "tolerated" her even after the outburst with Tony never mind, her diva behavior.

CA is cut throat and much more critical so I don't think TFW survived this show well. Cast criticize many cast members to avoid getting eliminated. TFW will be a short timer, and I am sure she did not get along with most female cast members, as history repeats itself. Aside from the fact that she has a bodyguard (when no other cast members did) as CA has it own Security Staff.

She is going to look foolish on the show as she did with Wife Swap, so I don't predict a good outcome for TFW in this case.

I have watched CA as well as DWTS for years as I enjoy the competition and root for certain "stars". Competition. DWTS if far classier, but CA is cut throat. And DT will often keep "controversial stars" on the show simply for ratings for his show.

So where does this make sense? If she was around for two weeks she obviously wasn't the first one fired. I think we deduced that she was the PM for the bridal gown challenge since Ted Gibson was prominently displayed and he's her only celeb contact. I thing her team won't hat challenge because she was around for the Ivanka shoe challenge and that's the one that we think sent her packing.

Speaking of big expenses...that's another thing that bugs me about
TFW's Christmas list tweet. She's got 8 kids, and she's buying
several things for each. There are people with 2 kids who can only
afford one gift per kid -- or maybe no gifts at all. She really has
no sense of how privileged she is. She pulls the "piecing and
patching" card when it serves her. Otherwise, she gets a bit
braggy, and it seems insensitive when so many people are
struggling in this economy.

And TFW and Gladyce never will. The girls probably banished Aaden to another room, with TFW's permission. Why are the three boys second class citizens?? The gender issue with her is way over the top. And disturbing.

Even Kendra tried to switch duties with boys/girls, but TFW was not having any of it.

Because they are the spittin' image of their father, and every time she looks at them she sees Jon?

&&&

You can still hide your real self on DWTS if you really want to.

But I think CA, unlike most other celeb reality shows, has had an uncanny knack for exposing people for who they are. I suspect it is the cutthroat environment and all the stress, lack of sleep, intense filming schedule and on top of that being constantly criticized sometimes harshly. On CA they will flat out tell you you were terrible. On DWTS they will say it nicer. Oh, you're timing was off. It is much hard to stay "on" when you are under such intense pressure constantly and nobody is bothering to say things nicely. Also you spend all your time with the contestants which helps to build up conflict. On DWTS you go back to your respective studios and train away from everybody else. And your fellow contestants don't have a say in who is being voted off whereas on CA you could be fired based entirely on another contestant throwing you under the bus. This sort of environment breeds paranoia and conflict.

It feels like a much more honest look at who the celeb is. For example I really adore Marlee Matlin after seeing her on CW. I thought she was so witty, and as smart as she looks and smarter. She had Marlee-isms that had signs to go with them that would have people in stitches. I remember her "put it in a drawer" comment, something about how she wanted somebody to put a sock in it, complete with the sign. Lol.

And then there's the famous case of Dionne Warwick, whom everyone thought they would love. Turns out she's lazy, not that smart, annoying, has no personality, and pretty much sucked. There's no way of knowing that without seeing CA unless you know her personally.

This is a funny clip that gives a good example of why this is such a guilty pleasure show.

Marlee is SOO pissed at Dionne.

And Nene fake signing in her interview explaining how pissed Marlee was, her fake nails clicking together as she "signs". LOL!!!!
