Judge orders psychological evaluation of Real Housewives' children to decide if they should be on reality T.V.

In what appears to be a reality show first, an Orange County judge has asked for outside help in making the important decision whether to allow three minors to appear on reality T.V.

Real Housewife's star Tamra Barney and her ex Simon have been fighting since their divorce a few years ago about the fate of their children. Tamra wants them on the show, Simon does not. Up until now, Simon has successfully kept the children off T.V., asserting it is a legal custody decision and he has veto power under California law because he and his ex have joint legal custody, and that the show would be harmful to the children. Last week, Tamra filed a motion to contest that, asserting a theory that this doesn't qualify as a legal decision that Simon would be able to veto, and therefore she is allowed to put the children on T.V. during her custodial time without his permission. On Friday, the judge refused to make a temporary order allowing the children to go on T.V. and ordered the evaluation.

Such independent evaluations are usually refered to as California Evidence Code 730 exams (or a "730," for short), and are performed by a psychologist agreed upon by the parties from a "730 panel" appointed by the courts. They are relied on often in California's family law system when parental alienation or other dysfunctional behaviors are going on. A 730 evaluator can make expert recommendations about custody, visitation, mental health of the parties, parental alienation, and a variety of other issues. An evaluator's opinion about what should happen to the children in a case can be crucial. However, 730 exams usually take several weeks to accomplish.

[From the Evidence Code: When it appears to the court, at any time before or during the trial of an action, that expert evidence is or may be required by the court or by any party to the action, the court on its own motion or on motion of any party may appoint one or more experts to investigate, to render a report as may be ordered by the court, and to testify as an expert at the trial of the action relative to the fact or matter as to which the expert evidence is or may be required.]

Kudos to the judge for recognizing the grave psychological nature of this issue and relying on experts to assist.

@Kateplusmy8 My act today was giving $25 to the person collecting carts at the grocery store. My reward was his smile.

And you just had to tweet about it? Shouldn't your reward be knowing that you did something without mentioning that you did it? YOU know that you did it and that's all that matters.

&&&

I kind of took this another way. I think Sandie is slamming the contest, in a nice way. She's saying look I don't need a contest or book, my reward was his smile. I like what she's saying. It's not a competition. Just do these things and let it be its own reward. Forget photos or contests.

And, I think this is a really nice act of kindness, especially if she lives in a cold climate. That's an awful job and I can picture that really making a young man or woman's day. I don't think she would have tooted her horn about it but for Kate saying I'm going to turn kindness into a competition. Isn't Sandie one of the one of the more grounded sheeple we tend to like? :)

((((((((

I agree with Admin. And yes, I like Sandie. She's a good egg. She is a fan, but she engages with the nonfans respectfully unlike that wacko Lauren or the Ziggy person or the Border Collie one...all of whom are haters IMO

In a weird way, Kate is saying nothing is worth doing unless you get credit for it. Trying to engage her twitter friends to give examples since she has none. Even then, good deeds should be kept private, bit she is trying to come up with some jargon to encourage donations since she does nothing for others, so she chooses to use her fans to do good, as she simply is not capable of giving a dime to the neediest, as she has 8 kids, and will NEVER part with her own money to help others. I think this says it all.

Of course the trolls are saying that @Kateplusmy8 asking her fans to do random acts of kindness in return for a book is a contest. It's not

----------------------------

You just have to wonder...

If there are entrants (participants), judging is involved, and there are winners selected, prizes awarded (the cookbook) then it IS a contest.

You can try to explain this to them in most simple of terms, but they just can't seem to grasp it. Someone needs to point this person (who seems obsessed with "trolls") to the website that was posted here.

They must be able to read the definition of a contest. It's right there, under "Sweepstakes, Contests and Lotteries." Fans can read this, and hopefully understand...can they not?

Jamie talked about the Kate she met working at Reading Hospital, and then about how being on TV changed her. She said, "I watched all the love leave her eyes". She didn't go any further with that, but wow--that one statement says a lot about the person Kate became once she got on TV. If someone ever said that about me, I would feel horrible, and I would have to do some soul-searching about the person I was becoming. Not so with Kate. As she said, people leave her life, and she just keeps on going. Nobody seems to matter to her, other than herself. It's frightening to think of how that could happen to someone.

Love gone, replaced by dollar signs.
I think Kate's heart hardened when she began to view her entire family, and all of their lives, as a business.
Her motto, "our show is our life and our life is our show" sent ice water running through me veins. How she could view her precious, frankly miraculous, kids in terms of their money making potential was nothing short of reptilian.
She was no longer the matriarch of the family, she was the CEO, making as much hay while the sun was shining as she could. Working the kids on an insane filming schedule, bilking Christians out of love offerings, hopping from interview couch to interview couch and making sure that no one dare thwart her plans to keep her little company viable and bringing the dough in by selling their privacy for the Almighty Dollar.
Think about how cold and calculating that is...

I think that with this fan, such is the case.

I agree. It seems to me that the remaining TFMJG's fans are the ones that believe every word she says. That is why they were so happy to turn BV onto the non-fans, because if a non-fan said anything that didn't agree with what TFW had said, then the non-fan was a dirty rotten liar, and would have to face their lies in court when they were sued.

Since I am not a stupid person, I can't imagine what must be going through their minds now that not only has TFMJG dropped the law suits against Jon and Robert, no law suit from BV has raised it's ugly head.

But because her idol Kate, later said it isn't a contest, that's all they see and what they believe. If it isn't a contest, then Kate should give a signed copy of her book to EVERYONE that emails her.

I think that they think we are all both stupid and evil; have caused tfw to lose job opportunities and spend our lives obsessing about how to destroy her.

They have some basis - when people start calling for others to write to anyone who hires her, but really, she does herself in.

As for BV's lawsuit, I think they are still counting on it.

Too bad I didn't have my camera to take a picture of the disabled homeless guy I gave cinnamon roll/bottled water to, after he was mistakenly dropped off at our facility when we were closed and had to wait 2 hours for the bus to come fetch him. (I could have focused on the cinnamon roll and gotten double credit for the person who baked them for the volunteers who were there all day yesterday.) Nah, that would be exploitative. Plus, it would never have occurred to me until I read about Kate's RIDICULOUS not-a-contest! What could she be thinking? Eh, she doesn't. People who do for others do it because they are kind, period. They don't think about it, they don't want credit, they just do it because the opportunity presents itself and it is the right thing to do. When someone makes a fuss over or reacts to it, they get embarrassed and say, "Oh gosh, no no, it's not a big deal. Just enjoy and have a good day" as they turn red and slink away. They know that to give is to receive.

Here's a true random act of kindness. My brother, who is very poor himself, had stopped to help a woman with a flat tire. She gave him $20.

Later that night he was at the grocery store when he saw an obviously poor dad shopping with his two little girls. The man had very few items in his cart, and was pricing everything before it went into the cart.

The little girls spied a gingerbread house kit and asked if they could have it. The dad said no, not this time. The little girls didn't fuss, just accepted the answer.

My brother walked up to the man and introduced himself, palmed his $20 into the man's hand as he shook it, and said to him, go get the gingerbread house for your little girls.

Hard to watch a grown man cry.

And there we have a true kindness. Nothing expected in return, nor wanted.

The buns in Kate's latest pictures don't actually look like the ones in her published recipes. The ones in the recipes are "pull-apart", made with balls of either refrigerated biscuits (original) or dough made in bread machine (latest), dipped in butter, sugar and cinnamon. Her twitter pictures show rolls that were made by rolling the dough in a rectangle, spreading with the toppings, rolling up, and cutting crosswise into rolls. Did she really make them? They do look kind of messy and under-rasied to me, so maybe she did.

TFMJG kindness contest WITH PHOTOS! gave me a little teensy bit of hope for her. Its not too late for her to actually appreciate all her blessings. Look at Ebenezer Scrooge, all it took were three ghosts!
Saving Mr Banks is a great movie, I loved it and can't stop thinking about the most important part.
Walt Disney says to PL Travers ”..says the lady who sent the flying nanny with a talking umbrella to save the children.”
Travers: ” You think may Poppins came to save the children?”
Disney: ” well,.didn't she?”
Travers: ” no no no, Mary Poppins came to save their father.”
The Disney writers almost adopted Mr Banks off to the Boer War for the duration of the movie! Mary Poppins came to help the parents realize what was important in their lives.
I know TFMJG will probably never ever change. I hope that one day, before it is too late, she can realize how she has been blessed and try to have a truly loving relationship with her children. To see them as individuals instead of a matched set, to see who they really are instead of what she wants them to be.
I'm dreaming, I know it won't happen. Past behavior is the best predictor of future behavior. still, one can always hope for the best while preparing foe the worst.

Admin-I don't think she wrote that in a CC blog, especially since she was only there for one Christmas. I think you may be referring to this tweet from last year. She was going on and on about how great Amazon was and how she was doing all her shopping online.

She apparently ordered "small" stuff for herself, too, so her kids would have something to give her.

Kate Gosselin ‏@Kateplusmy8 7 Dec 12
@CJWhodunit @MiloandJack @braez @amazon I EVEN ordered some stuff 4 me so my kids c me open stuff 2..Small things so I have 'surprises' 2 :)

Also, last year one of her fans said that she hoped Jon would take the kids shopping for Kate's presents, and Kate replied:

Kate Gosselin ‏@Kateplusmy8 24 Nov 12
@siggyelizabeth lol. No.We have fam friends who take them..or I do it&let them wrap. They r sad if I have nothing 2open..doesn't worry me tho

So she obviously picks out what presents her kids are to give her. That's one way to make sure you get what you want for Christmas.

At least this year she didn't tweet her "wish list". I wonder if she ever got that Dyson?

LOL is righ because that's what I'm doing. If she's from the Jersey shore and her husband thinks TFW's sauce is like liquid crack they've either got very low standards or only eat from the chain pizza places that serve cardboard with some sauce and cheese on top. I'd like to suggest a nice pie from Vic's. Even a slice from any of the summertime boardwalk joints is better than what TFW serves up.

And now I must go rinse my eyes out. I was slicing jalapeño without gloves and just rubbed my eyes. Chit! I know better than that!

Which makes me think something I haven't seen mentioned yet. Whoever wins, especially if it's one of her "favorites"? I can see that creating hard feelings among the sheeple, jealousy. Division. Another way to breed discontented fans. A lot of them don't seem to really like each other and I think Kate encourages this by playing favorites. I doubt this competition is going to help smooth anything over, it will only make it worse.

Wonder if TFW will leave some cinnamon buns on the garbage cans for the sanitation dept this year ? She has a lot prepared- by her or Whole Foods- I tend to think she made them from a mix herself as they don't ll look too appetizing- underdone and out of shape!

We know from the fake Xmas show that she 'traditionally' used a mix or pre-packaged dough- Jon commented that was the first time she made them from scratch so it's not a 'typical' thing for her to do.

---------------------

TFW probably trying to line up story line. Jamie clearly had enough of TFW's antics with the SUV trip, when TLC starting showing Kate's true colors. Plus the rumors of Jamie sending salacious emails to Jon, per Gosselin book.

Who knows what happened that was not filmed, but drama Kate has a way of trying to get people to see it "her way." She clearly treated Jamie like hired help, in the most demeaning way possible, but still expects allegiance.

Quite frankly, Jamie would be crazy to continue to interact with Kate at this juncture unless she is keeping tabs on the kids. Kate clearly treated her like dirt while being filmed, and if Jamie did not "get it" then, don't know when she ever will. Ashley clearly wanted nothing more to do with Kate, but still wanted to see the kids, so I get that aspect.

Done with Kate, does not mean done with the kids. Kate, of course, would interpret that to mean Ashley still loves her, even if she simply wants to see the kids periodically.

JMO said...

Kate lives "vicariously" through her fans, "inspiring" THEM to do good deeds, yet she does NOTHING. Her MO is to get people to do the actual work, and then take credit for it by "inspiring" them. Very twisted in that she wants to be a star, but refuses to do anything for anyone other than herself. She misses the mark on every occasion.

Jamie's relationship appears to have been reduced to a once a year check in on the kids and that's it. I wouldn't be surprised if her new husband isn't fond of her devoting any more time than that to such an unrealistic friendship. Of everyone who has appeared on camera, I give Jamie credit for being the most honest. She called Kate out for how she was. She even said Kate fancied herself some kind of Angelina Jolie and essentially implied it was silly and that fame had gone to her head. It takes a lot for a best friend to be honest with others, and herself. I really respected her after the RV trip. As much as I liked Beth, Beth never was honest about what was going on. I'm sure there is a lot to say we never heard.

Oh, and I like how she stood up for Clay when Kate was defending the aggressor, Cara. Clay didn't do anything wrong. It wasn't a mom blindly standing up for her child because it's her child. It was a woman who knew the truth of the matter and was standing up for what was RIGHT.

I'm sure the kids would feel bad if Kate had nothing to open, it's something a parent does more for the kids.

Nothing will break your heart more than seeing your child's eyes well up because Santa didn't bring YOU anything.

I swore I would never put my son or myself through that again and I always bought myself a present and stocking stuffers.

It became a tradition I've kept up since even though my Hubby has been spoiling me for the better part of 20 years.

They had a LD friendship for a while so it was easier to be taken in, plus the lure of being on TV maybe played a role in their friendship till Jamie wised up. I agree she defended her son and made sure her daughters were ok on the RV trip. They all seemed well-behaved and interested in the sights as opposed to the G8. I can think of meltdowns by several G kids, but none by Jamie's.Her twin girls seemed like sweet kids and Clay a cute active boy.

I've been critical of Jamie bringing her kids into the fray with filming the RV trip, but I can see the lure of taking her kids on a once in a lifetime trip.
Jamie hung in there during the height of the papparazi and gossip magazine craze, even though Kate herself fanned the flames a whole lot.
Personally, I don't know if I would have brought my kids near the circus that was the Gosselin sage circa 2009. That picture snapped of Jamie disciplining one of the kids isn't one I'd have left myself wide open to.
I do appreciate Jamie's candor about her struggles with her relationship with a changed, jaded Kate.
Perhaps visiting with each other a couple times a year is about what works for the both of them at this point.

But, that's Jamie's deal. She's got a newish marriage and kids of her own, so...
Ashley clearly loves and adores the kids and I think will hang in there in order to be not counted as yet another loved one that fell off the vine.

There was proof in a website link that it was Jamie's dog. (vet or breeder related site or forum? I can't remember.) So I believe she did go to Jamie's too.

Some here seem fixated on Kate joining a carol singing crowd, to do a good thing. What do we know about our Kate? Well, she cannot cross an airport without a handler. So in spite of the kindness factor, I cannot think of anything worse for her - out with her 8 children, in the dark, in the cold, in a crowd. No, this is definitely so far out of her comfort zone; there are so many better ways for her to pay it forward, not that she will. She is unaware of anything she does not hear about on Twitter. And to be honest, I would probably not go out on a cold dark night for a gathering like that. I do not fault Kate. As for the media presence, she's afraid of them too, unless it's a controlled situation. Saying she should be there is just unrealistic.

Kate attend something local to benefit someone else with the unwashed masses? Never ... just imagine the chaos that would ensue.

They're so famous, they can't go out in public without everyone pointing and getting mobbed, per her own words! HA, if Kate wasn't attracting attention, she'd start screeching, flapping her hands, running around to ensure all eyes were on her!

A random act of kindness isn't about the recognition (well in most people's world) and if you're asking others to do it with a picture, etc. for your not a contest, step up Kate ... set the example and publish yours first!

Probably not cool for TFW to go to the little girl's caroling and make it about her instead of the little girl.

But she could make a donation x8, being as the girl is in her area and they share a Taylor Swift admiration. (And not one of her stupid books.) Something like...in honor of...our family has decided to cover the costs of the parent's salaries for the next 8 weeks. Or we are going to donate $88,800 to her fund. Or we will cover the costs of the funeral.

I find it hard to believe BV and the minions would charge for their "services" rendered on behalf of Kate. Razzy, yes...but the BV gang? Come on.

Perhaps Francesca is hinting at a thank you at least, but money?...nah.

Her attorneys will have to deal with Kate on their own to collect their legal fees due. On that, I wish them luck. Hopefully, they got a nice retainer up front.

Kate is a grown woman. Flawed as she may be, she does not need strangers, friend or foe, suggesting how she donate her time or her resources. There are many arenas in which to do good, and even though this situation in Reading may be physically close to her, it's not on her radar, and this does not make her a bad person. I don't understand the fixation.

In my opinion TFW could have at least given a retweet or sent thoughts and prayers to the girl. Here's an exchange about the event between TFW and xxxxxxxx yesterday

@Kateplusmy8: @xxxxxxxx can you give me more details..?! I've been hearing a lot about her #sweet&special #inspiring

After that exchange not a word from TFW. She was more excited when the same person told her that the weather was going to warm up.

I think, my opinion only, the point is TFW is holding a 'contest' for other people to do good deeds and photograph them and SHE and kids will judge them, and award her unsold cookbooks as prizes. She did not mention any good deeds she is doing- maybe she has done, and is keeping them private; if so, why ask others to reveal theirs?
"Judge not lest ye be judged."

I don't fault her either. I didn't go. I don't know the those city streets that well, and getting in that crowd of 8,000 people at night, trying to find a parking place, isn't what I would do. If I were Kate, I would, however, think of something special to do for her. Caroling wouldn't have been one of them.

What work? You buy 12 bubble wrap envelopes at Walmart or the dollar store, write the recipient's name on it, and send it Media Mail.

Speaking of her book, I was at B&N today and there was no cookbook in sight. I asked where they were (there was a clerk arranging the books in the cookbook section) and I was told they are not stocking them, but they can be ordered.

I'm binge watching Seinfeld. Does anyone remember when Milo was all strung out because she waved someone in and they didn't thank her? There was a discussion here about maybe they didn't see her or maybe they didn't want to cause an accident by thank you waving or a host of other good reason and moreover if you wave someone in don't expect anything in return it's just a wave in!

Anyway on Seinfeld, Jerry lets someone cut in front of him but doesn't get an acknowledgement. He gets all strung out and is shouting: "Hey buddy give me my thank you wave! Where's my wave!!!" LOL!! Maybe Milo is Seinfeld!

OrangeCrusher1 said...

Kate has no connection to that sick child, pointing out that she could, or should, do something is fine, but she does nothing for anyone else, why focus on this? I agree that her good deeds 'contest' is weird in light of her own selfish behaviors. That's all I meant.

Jan said...

If pictures are needed, and if the recipient is in the picture, isn't permission needed? Especially if that picture wins the not a contest. Maybe she'll get sued and end up on Judge Judy.

About the social securiy numer needed as the Admin talked about- it must be notarized, too.

NJGal51 said...

The point I was trying to make in my post was that TFW could have at least done a retweet for the sick little girl. All that would cost her is one push of a button. She can retweet up a storm when folks are complementing her or her cookbook. I never thought that she should actually show up at the event.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

That sort of event is probably something I would pass on as well, the large crowds and so on. I think it's wonderful that so many people turned out, good for them and great for that sweet little girl. Unless I heard they couldn't really get anyone to come, I wouldn't go. But all reports said thousands were showing up, it was well covered. There are many other opportunities for giving back that are more my pace.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Permission for photos is yet another can of worms. If it's in a public place it's probably going to be okay. But, not necessarily if any children are in the photo, like if a sheeple helped a family with kids. And if any of this occurred on private property, someone's home and includes grocery stores or Starbucks, there could be issues. It gets even dicier if it appears she's using the image and likeness for profit. For instance if she posts the photo on a post just below her book post and in a content where the prize is her book, arguably this is just about promoting her book and using it to drive sales. I don't know, I'd be careful.

Another thing Kate never explains is what she intends to do with the photos. I would want to know that before I ever sent anything to her. Are these just for Kate to verify things and will be kept confidential? Or will they be published somewhere on her web site or twitter? She doesn't say. Hugely problematic. It's amazing the things this dolt never even seems to think of. It's like when God was handing out common sense, there was none leftover for her. She of all people, who complained so much about people taking "unauthorized" photos of her and her kids, now wants her sheeple to go out there and play paparazzi. She of all people should be able to spot the issue with this. Yet she doesn't. Too funny!

I think Jamie was duped by Kate originally
*********
I don't get that sense. I think Kate and Jamie hit if off and became close friends, but Kate would change a whole lot.
And I don't know WTH to think of Robert's allegations that Jamie was hitting on Jon during the marriage, sending him topless photos. He claims he's got the evidence and I've no reason to doubt him.
Given that, Jamie's sort of an enigma to me, from this very strange behavior, to sleeping in the same bed as Kate, so taking selfies in bed.
&&&&&&&&

Robert claims to posess a topless photo of Jamie and emails she sent Jon (this was before the show ). Lol, I just checked the book and he wrote "I saw the emails and the photo. I have them. You think I'm bluffing? Try me." Robert had an entry from Kate's journal in the book where Kate gushed on & on about a visit from Jamie in 2006. Kate was thrilled that Jamie knew how to help her and how amazing it was that Jamie didn't annoy her. She wished she had regular help all the time.

In Al Walentis's book, he claimed Jon has told people he 'hooked up' with Jamie during that visit, while Kate was out. Who knows, but it sure is scandalous!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The only thing that slightly changes my mind about this is apparently TFW WAS tweeting about this little girl with someone, asking questions, etc. For a little bit. Then TFW quickly lost interest and it was on to her contest.

If you're choosing not to become involved, don't limp in. She need to either not mention this little girl at all, or become involved. But showing interest then backing away seems kind of cold, I'll give it that.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I can actually kind of see Jamie and Jon having a thing however brief. Although Jon has always maintained he never cheated, that his relationships never occurred until Kate called things off and even Kate told the same to Hailey.

In any case Jamie was newly divorced and given her comments about Kate I bet she knew exactly what to say to Jon about her to offer comfort and support in that marriage. Even if not I can at least see them becoming close friends which probably ticked off possessive Kate.

Sleepless In Seattle said...

Kate is really getting bashed on Twitter for not caroling for the little girl. I know that she wanted to meet Taylor, but has it been put out there that she is a Kate fan? I'm not sure why the non-fans are coming down so hard on her, saying that she should have taken the twins to see her, that the little girl would have loved to meet them. Has it been mentioned that she is even a fan of Kate and the kids?

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I don't get that either Sleepless. I had the same thought, unless the girl asked for Kate, which she did not, if Kate went it would just look like she wants recognition for herself. Maybe the kid doesn't even like the show for all we know! Not every kid does.

Plus, this could very well be Jon's weekend and she doesn't even have them. You could just as easily say why doesn't Jon take them! But maybe he doesn't want to make the event about him or cause a bunch of instagram snapshots of him and the kids that look self serving.

It doesn't have to do with deep dishes, chain franchises, having to find decent pizza at the Jersey Shore, but good local pizza, that anyone has access to hard and can be hard be to find good pizza in other areas of the country. As much as I love the pizza and other food items from the Jersey Shore, the shore is not the only place to get good pizza, cheese steaks, clams, Khors' vanilla/orange swirl ice cream, waffles, etc. I don't know what TFW adds to her pizza, but unless someone is adding crack to their pizza, he recipe is just mediocre.

Entry for Worst Moments:

Of all the terrible things TFW has said and done, for me, one of her worst moments this year was a statement she made that epitomizes her evil, vindictive nature. I don't remember which thread it was in, and I can't recall the entire, exact quote, but she said something like she had to "encourage the kids to love Jon." WTF?!

I shouldn't have been surprised to hear those words spew from her piehole, but for some reason they just hit me hard in the gut. She is a piece of Scheiße.

The saddest part is she was probably telling the truth for once. I can just imagine the things she says to those kids. She probably tells them things like:

"Your father is lazy and selfish, but you should love him anyway."

"It's your father's fault that our show was cancelled, but you should love him anyway."

"Your father tells lies about me, but you should love him anyway."

"It's your father's fault we don't go on fun trips anymore, but you should love him anyway."

"Your father tries to make me sad and mad, but you should love him anyway."

"Your father treats me terribly, but you should love him anyway."

"Your father cares more about himself and his girlfriend's kids than he does about you, but you should love him anyway."

"Your father ruined our lives, but you should love him anyway."

I am completely convinced she uses passive aggressiveness to try to turn the kids against Jon. I hope as the kids get older, they see right through her.

Yes, Blowing in the Wind. I thought the trees were in the beginning of the year and you posted the date. IIRC, wasn't it around Halloween? Can't believe time is flying like it is!

Of course, TFW is using passive-aggressive on the kids about Jon.

It makes me think when she says those things it is like bitter-sweet. She may say, Your father was very cruel to me, but you have to love him. She talks bitter, but throws in a few grains of sugar to sweeten it with.

I think it would of been cheaper for TFW to have bought one or 2 more Bundt pans and made the Pillsbury recipe of Monkey Bread, instead of loading her cart at Whole Foods.

Because I was so organized and thoughtful of others, I didn't hold up the line. Did I win a cookbook? Oh darn, I forgot to take a picture of my thoughtfulness. I guess, no cookbook for me.

This is when any compassion I might have for Kate's obsessed fans goes out the window.
The kids are growing up, busy with school and with friends and with visiting their dad and hopefully (fingers crossed), lots of personal interest activities.
Leave them alone. You saw them for years. Ask no more of them. They are not on Earth to entertain you, so stop begging their mother to begin filming them again.
Their filming schedule was grueling, and it's not fair for either of their parents to sign them up for yet another contract that they can not begin to understand themselves.
If Kate gets a program that does not involve her kids, then fine. But, leave these kids alone.
No child should be born with the job of supporting their parents and themselves.

My sons came last night and brought me my Christmas present. They bought me a new tv. I really didn't need one because the one I had, they got me on my birthday seven years ago. So they changed them out and the tv was sitting on the floor and my son said, hey, can you give this tv to someone here that doesn't have one? I said, I don't know if anyone needs one. I had given the previous one I had to someone here who didn't have one when they brought the one they bought me on my birthday. I told him that I would talk to the activities director, she would know. Or I would call the Salvation Army to come and get it. I forgot about it and a girl who works here, a CNA of mine, said is this your tv? I said yes. She asked me what I wanted to do with it and I said, I am trying to give it a good home! She told me that her tv had went out and she didn't have one. I said, You can have it, Merry Christmas!

One more thing. I forgot to get a picture of my random act of kindness, so I guess if I send TFW an email with my name and address, because I don't send a photograph, I will be disqualified due to not conforming to her rules.

Works for me! lol

For someone who is always on the move she's accomplished very little in more than two years. She put together a book that was very poorly done, and most of the actual work was probably done by Zandaran anyway when they dumped it overseas years ago. She scored a few scant T.V. spots that never amounted to anything but a mere cameo, and a few obscure endorsement deals and blogging jobs that quickly fell through. She hasn't even been able to get the kids back on T.V., the supposed draw. She got them CWS and one teeny tiny appearance on Katie Couric. And she claims that she wants them on T.V. so you can't say she's not really pursuing it. Other than that? Most people would be embarrassed and have given up on this and found real jobs ages ago.

Tucker's Mom said...

All these good deeds gone without a picture for posterity- how can you ever hope to own a copy (signed, no less!) of LIITM if you don't take a photo?!

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

Tucker what you said has been said before yet it can't be said enough.

I am so disgusted at the utter lack of disregard for these children as people. I have NEVER, EVER seen a sheeple concerned about how the kids feel about being their entertainment. It's like they don't even seem to realize they are living breathing people with eight separate wants, desires, needs and that their best interest should come before the sheeple's entertainment. They have a right for their best interest to come first.

I think the kids themselves would be shocked at how different filming would be today. Memory is strange like that, especially memories from where you are younger. It's likely quite hazy, with only vague memories of the best and worst moments of filming dotting their memories. They were too little for filming to be as disruptive as it would be now at this age.

When they were toddlers and first graders it was all well and good. They have school now, sports, music, hopefully some friends and other activities, time with dad, and lives of their own now. School is only going to get busier and more challenging, not less so. A filming schedule would only be more difficult to accommodate, not less. The moment filming interferes with Cara and Mady's plans to go see Catching Fire with some girlfriends or the Tup's plans to have a bonfire and go fishing with Jon (those fishing poles lined up were so cute), they're not going to be happy. Child actors who like it and work a lot give up a LOT. Most of them can't even be in school, and many of them don't have friends their ages or normal activities. A kid who is happy with this arrangement is very rare. The idea that all eight of the children would enjoy such a lifestyle is ludicrous. Odds are there's no way that would happen. One or two tops might like it, the rest would miss their normal lives. This filming thing is almost a pipe dream at this point. At most they can hope for a few update specials, but a real filming schedule? They're out of their minds.

You can wonder all you want -- from here to eternity, but that's not going to get Kate on a television network. There might be interest in Kate, but it's not the kind that will land her on a television show.Gladys has no interest whatsoever in the kids. They are just extra baggage that go along with Kate. Her love interest is all she cares about. Gladys is an idiot, and I'm beginning to think that many of the fans know it. Why would anyone embarrass themselves like that on a daily basis? I guess she just doesn't care, and that's pretty darn sad.

I imagine that there's no product made that will remove that brown stain from her nose. It's there for life.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

The other thing too is that since the Gosselins started all this reality T.V. business, people have caught on to reality T.V. There's uproars over Tamra and Simon, Duck Dynasty, and a host of other controversies. Any network that takes her on for more than a quickie is going to have to deal with Jon. It's one thing for a network to deal with Simon (and have you noticed, it's TAMRA having to fight her battles with him, Bravo isn't making any appearances in court to try to fix this), because Simon and Tamra have been on Bravo for years and years and made them boatloads of money. For them it's worth it to try to make that work. But they're certainly not going to knowingly take on a problem of a father who has an issue with his children being on T.V. Not when there are dozens of other families lined up who could make them money who don't have a father who is going to take it to court.

Not to mention, the Gosselins are stale. It's harsh because they are real people, but that's how T.V. works. They are yesterday's news, yesterday's show. Networks are looking for the next Ducks. They're not looking to revive some has been family where the kids are grown now and the charm is gone. It's not going to happen.

Realitytvkids.com ~ Administrator said...

I haven't seen Kate's pizza sauce recipe but was it followed exactly? To the cooks out there why would it be so oily like that other than the obvious, lots of oil? Does Kate's recipe call for a lot of olive oil? If it's separating like that and floating to the top, she might want to rework it. Pizza is greasy enough from the cheese, adding more grease and oil to the sauce doesn't help.

The problem is when a recipe is followed exactly and then posted all over social media, and it looks that greasy, undercooked and unappetizing, that reflects back on Kate or anyone writing the cookbook. One wonders if there are flaw in her recipes and it doesn't make you want to buy the book. It's a different time now, where you can't get away with putting out a mediocre recipe. Social media has changed all that.

But, if something is not followed, there's not much a cook can do about it. The internet is brutal these days about recipes. Kate is a snake oil salesman who forgot that we have twitter and instagram now, things the salesmen of yesteryear didn't have to worry about.

This kind of reminds me of a funny thing I saw on the internet last week, it was pintirest creations and then some people's lame attempts at them. It was funny and most people had a good sense of humor about themselves. Things look so lovely on pintirest but if you're impatient or not following directions exactly or just don't have the skills for it, your imitation can sometimes look quite sad! lol!

They really don't give a rat's rear end about the kids, do they? What a shame. I can see this coming from Kate's teen fans because they know very little about child development, their need for privacy, to have a normal childhood. They see it as glamour, traveling, living a celebrity lifestyle. But there is no excuse for adults not to see that filming the heck out of kids can lead to all kinds of emotional and psychological issues. They can oogle and gush over Kate all they want. Give her a show and she can make a fool out of herself. Just leave the kids out of it.

What's funny too is that according to Kate, the kids are doing just great. When Jon shared some very real concerns about their emotional development, Kate felt the need to respond in a blog post saying that was malarky.

So that begs the question if the kids are doing SOOO well why on earth would any loving mother want to rock the boat with something as serious as a reality show? Why would any mother, or sheeple, want to risk it?

Funny story about pizza dough. My 11 year old brother was supposed to be making a pizza, after a few minutes, I saw him walking around with his hands pressed together, so I asked him what was he doing, he replied that the recipe said to cover the dough and let it rise in a warm place, so he had it covered and in a warm place,(in his hands) waiting for it to rise! He will never live that one down! If my 11 year old brother could make pizza dough from scratch, you would think TFW tweeties could make it themselves as well.

Why would she risk it? Why would she risk the kid's health and happiness? Well OMG...she could give a crap about how the kids feel.
It NEEDS to be about her.
Like others have said here...this book giveaway?
- Not enough room to store all the un-sold books
- Hoping to get credit for being charitable
- Look how TFW gives back! TV time
- Does she get a tax break for giving her books away for charity?

Why would her fans lie to her for a free book they already bought because they are fans and already bought 1 or 50 to give to friends.

TFW is trying so hard to prove she is the new and improved kate...you know...caring,kind,loving and concerned about others kate. ( Yeah...I couldn't keep a straight face either while I read that)

As for the top 10 moments.
I'd say the fact that she keeps trying to force herself on tv is the worst moment of all. Either she's too stupid too realize that the "jig" is up...or she know's and has zero self respect and is willing to give up any ounce of self-respect so she never has to work again or deal with the kids. Even public humiliation wont stop her.

Where is her family intervention?

Ugh, so are celebs now taking to twitter to communicate custody issues with each other??

"Tamra, school called," Simon tweets. "You didn’t pick up Sophia. On my way to get her. No response from you from school or me. Are you okay? Where are you?”

When a Twitter follower thought it was inappropriate for Simon to post this on Twitter and that he should have tweeted to Tamra, he wrote, "I did text, and so did the school. Was hoping to get response from Twitter. Btw, she's fine & was home."

Tamra responded on Twitter, writing, "Unfortunately, due to the holiday schedule, our weekends switched, and I overlooked it. Totally my fault and felt horrible.”

I am sure by now, there is at least one, probably more like 6 who just want to be left alone to live their young lives without being splashed all over TV, tabloids, on their mother's twitter and blogs.....

Time for Kate to step up to the plate and stop putting these kids out there for public consumption. It's really disturbing. Whatever she does solo, I don't care, as long as she leaves the kids to live a private life.

But, Milo, how can Kate announce a new show when she doesn't HAVE a new show? Milo keeps telling Kate how successful she is, then hits her up for some big announcement of something Kate can't pull off. It's like she's taunting Kate--"Oh, Kate, you're sooo successful! If you're so successful, then where's your new show?Huh? Where is it, Kate?"
I saw a show late night--Rachael and Guy's Kids' Cookoff, and they had a bunch of kids in a cooking competition. That little Jack Witherspoon (who was on Hallmark Home and Family and completely showed up Kate) was one of the contestants, but he didn't win. The winner was 10! There was a preview of another show--Rachael and Guy's Celebrity Cookoff. I thought, "Uh-oh..." But, when they showed the contestants--no Kate. Florence Henderson and I think Jake Pavelka and the rest of the bunch were shown, but no sign of Kate. She published a new cookbook but didn't get on the Celeb Cookoff show? How sad!
Just for grins and giggles, I looked up Jack Witherspoon's shepherd's pie recipe and made it for dinner. It was awesome! He is only 13, and his recipes put Kate's to shame. He could teach her a thing or two in the kitchen.
Lukebandit, it's so good to hear you're doing better! When Carrie Fisher lost 50 pounds, she said, "I lost half a supermodel". You did her one better--you lost a whole supermodel!

Good for him. He has more camera presence and awareness than Kate has manages to garner in 6 years of TV appearances.
He conveyed so much information and knows more about cooking than Kate.
In particular, he knows how to treat different cuts of meat differently, which is an elemental skill. Not every cut of meat responds favorably to being thrown in a crock pot for 6-8 hours.

I thought the exact same thing.

At this point, 2 1/2 years after K+8 was cancelled, it's safe to say there is never going to be a new show. Like, ever. Not only is she a talentless hack, she's a bitchy and difficult hack. Kate had the opportunity of a lifetime in her lap. Everything Kate touches fails or fizzles out. The fans are desperate for some sign of success from her so they can finally say nanner nanner boo boo to us. They might as well keep waiting.

As the single, struggling mother of 8 (haha) the sole supporter (HAHA) doing it ALL BY HERSELF (HAHAHAHA) she should have done whatever she needed to do to keep that show going. Instead of farting rainbows and sunshine on her slobbering tweeties, she should have farted sunshine on her very generous employer, TLC. She didn't appreciate what she had and she admitted this in the People article. While I think that last Star mag article on her was pieced and patched crap, I do believe the part where the "source" said Kate is hoping someone will take pity on her and give her a show. Pity? Has she BEEN in show business the last 6-7 years? What producer/production company does anything out of pity? Even more pathetic, this is a grown woman approaching 40 years old, who refuses to pull herself up by her own bootstraps and make her own destiny. She went from her parents home, to living with the parents of boyfriends, to leeching onto the the son of Dr. Gosselin, to sucking the life out of her community, to wrapping her tentacles around TLC. This is what makes it so laughable when she and Milo claim she's always workin' and never sits down. It's the exact opposite. She never works and refuses to work. She gives 4% effort to everything she tries.

It's one thing to be supportive and positive, Milo. It's quite another boldface lie to make Kate appear to be a productive member of socieity.

I was reading an article about people trying to form class actions against Target for the breach, and I saw it had a quick, simple, good breakdown of class actions and how it takes a little bit more than just, "let's all sue in a class action" to get it off the ground. I feel bad for the sheeple that someone was just telling them what they wanted to hear and they couldn't put their critical thinking caps on to realize "wait a minute that doesn't quite sound right." Sigh.

""Filing the suit is the first step but a judge would have to certify that affected customers constitute a "class."
A class action is "a different animal in legal work" from other types of cases, said Anne Bremner, a defense lawyer who has handled many such cases.
Judges would consider whether members of the class were similarly damaged; whether the plaintiffs are typical of and can adequately represent the class; and whether individual lawsuits would be impractical.
Target, she said, could choose to argue the plaintiffs haven't shown they were damaged by the breach.
"You can't just sue because something happened," Bremner said. "You have to have a claim and a damage.""

I think, too, that even if they sat down and took a look at Kate's very difficult and challenging life (snark), they'd never back down and say, hey, wait a minute, why is she so disliked, why doesn't she have a show...could it be that she's not all sunshine and roses to work with? @Kateplusmy8: Shoka is getting ready for Christmas...with non stop treats from whoever happens to walk by.... pic.twitter.com/5trKH1Iqgz

So riddle me this, why is the child's hand showing motion but Shoka's is perfectly still on her arm and why is Shoka not looking at the offered treat but rather looking off in the distance?

Jane, Merry Christmas to you also.

And, to every lady here. We have been "together" for awhile now. I have learned and laughed with all of you.

Happy Holidays and a blessed new year to everyone.

Thanks to Admin for collecting such an interesting group of women (and men).

prairiemary - Thanks for telling us the story about your brother and the pizza dough. It reminds me of Amelia Bedelia!!

Or you eat it on a boardwalk bench, facing the ocean, nice breeze and listening to the chatter of little kids playing in the sand, the sun on your back.

Oh, yes, PA Dutch Mom! A big slice of Mack & Manco pizza (now just Manco & Manco) on a flimsy paper plate! Beware of the seagulls, though. If you're not careful, they will swoop right down and snatch the pizza off the plate!

Enjoy your Christmas Eve day shopping at the mall.

Auntie - Thank you for sharing that touching story.

Jersey pizza- got to do the fold. Maybe even the blot and fold, but the fold, definitely.

Great moments of giving here. Paying for someone's groceries so that they can use the food stamps later was so kind.
Well, here's my good deed for everyone here, especially the locals- remember the Philly episode of K+8? The gang et. al. went to Reading Terminal Market and visited the pretzel place-Miller's Pretzels.
There used to be a photo of Kate and the owner with a "K+8" baked pretzel displayed in one of their plexiglass windows.
Well... it's... gone. And, this was only 2-3 years ago, so not outdated!
But, there are much older photos of Dr. Phil, Adam Richman (with a Man vs. Food pretzel) and an athlete.
Not sign of Katie Kreider, which made me chuckle, especially over breakfast at the Dutch Eating Place, while pouring Kreider Farms cream into my coffee ;-)

Those Jersey seagulls are ballsy!
We were eating outside on a dock and saw seagulls swoop down and snatch no less than 3 stuffed shrimp from the table next to us. We literally had to hunch over our food to protect it!
Bastards!

Shoka is giving a "shake" to Mady? and he's averting his eyes, which is typical of dogs who are being submissive.
Some dogs can give direct eye contact up close, especially if they're used to it and grew up with it, but it's an aggressive behavior otherwise and a dog sometimes submits, and "gives".
So, not unusual.

Got an early Christmas present from DH, and, it's a cookbook!
Since I had no photo to prove any of my kind deeds, I didn't get LIITM.
Sniff.
But, I did get "Jerusalem" and can not wait to make the recipes and receive tons of inspiration.
First up, "Roasted Chicken With Clementines And Arak"
(am sure I won't find Arak by me, so will pick up Pernod at the ABC store)
((am totally on to DH's motivation for getting me "Jerusalem"!))

Ahh...some last minute "piecing and patching".

If Kate thinks she has to piece and patch, she should try Christmas on a disability paycheck. I do, and I have been able to help the Salvation Army and a local food pantry this year. I just returned from my last grocery run, good thing the check comes in tomorrow cause I overdrew the bank, but the sun is shining for the first time in 5 days, it is 15 degrees with snow on the ground and all my kids and grandkids will be here tomorrow. More blessings than one old lady deserves, and the new seed catalogs are arriving.
So I just want to share my joy in life and this holiday season with all the posters here. Blessed be.

Quite telling and confirming that there are no pics of Shoka anywhere in the house other than in the entry way by the front door (or in the basement from years ago).

I hope everyone has a very happy merry holiday. I have plans but snow coming overnight so may have to wait to get together. I am such a chicken driving when snowy.
