John and Ken show compare the Gosselins to L.A.'s mayor

Popular Los Angeles talk show hosts John Kobylt and Ken Chiampou on "The John and Ken Show" brought up the Gosselins and their quest for fame this afternoon. In talking about the mayor of Los Angeles and the mayor of San Francisco and their political aspirations, they said....

John: [L.A. Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa and San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom are] just camera whores. They don't do anything. They wake up every morning and they need to have their ego fed, they need people pay attention to them because they've got some kind of personality disorder that demands it. You know how many people go through their lives not demanding attention? And they have happy lives, they have accomplished lives. But they don't need strangers constantly looking at them, applauding them, being in awe of them. That's why a lot of these people who run for office, they're sick, they're psychologically ill. They're doing it, they're like these reality show contestants. Villaraigosa and Newsom are just like the Gosselin couple on Jon and Kate Plus 8, or Octomom, or uh....

Ken: The Heenes!

John: The Heenes. That's what it is. It's the same reality show, desperate for attention mentality. Look at me!

Their podcast can be downloaded here with their comments coming at the beginning of the show:

Hailey says Jon is emotionally abusive

For some bizarre reason we cannot even speculate, Jon's girlfriend Hailey has gone public and says Jon is emotionally abusive toward her. He gets angry at her, has tantrums, he lies, and is "mean" to her. But, she says, she still loves him and will still stay with him. Sounds like domestic violence to us. DV does not have to involve physical touching. It can be emotional as well.

Welcome back, Aunt Jodie!

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/10/jon-gosselin-reconciles-kates-estranged-brother

We were thrilled to read this morning that Jon has welcomed back beloved Aunt Jodie and Uncle Kevin into the children's lives. The maternal relatives have been estranged for some time, and their brave public message about how damaging the filming is for the children and the sham of Jon and Kate's marriage caused a further rift. We found this couple to be quite a positive influence and consistency with the children and have been pained to see them missing for so long. Welcome back! And kudos for letting bygones be bygones for the sake of the kids.

Appears Jon has forgiven them. We wonder where Kate stands.

Kate, Halloween isn't until next week!

The Internet is a-buzz with chatter about Kate's new wig she was spotted wearing at the Gosselin house this week. Is it just a disguise to escape the paparazzi? Is she trying out a new hairstyle? Or are she and Jon still together and this is all a big conspiracy on a more grander scale than balloon boy could ever imagine?

Vanity Fair interviews Kate

http://www.vanityfair.com/hollywood/features/2009/10/jon-and-kate-gosselin-200910

Vanity Fair article exposes Kate's love of free expensive sushi at a NY hot spot--her advisers tell her she can't go because it looks bad, and a calculated trip to the toy store for the cameras. She also calls the paparazzi bald and fattish, uses a personal shopper, and says the kids are "acting out."

TLC sues Jon for breach of contract

Really, TLC? The show is over, Let...it....go.

In their ongoing demonstration TLC doesn't give a flying fig about the Gosselin children, they have insisted on throwing themselves into the fray and escalating an already bad situation by suing the chidren's father. Hopefully those little 5-year-olds don't get scared and think Daddy is going to jail. It's a civil suit kids don't worry!

Among other things, they are ticked Jon disclosed his salary. But really we think they are most ticked he revealed the children were not paid. Oops, awkward!

http://latimesblogs.latimes.com/entertainmentnewsbuzz/2009/10/tlc-files-breach-of-contract-suit-against-jon-gosselin.html

As for Jon, his lawyer has previously said the contract was invalid because among other things Jon had no legal representation.

Jon is a hacker?

Kate is contemplating legal action after hearing rumors that Jon "hacked" her e-mail, phone, computer, etc.

http://www.radaronline.com/exclusives/2009/10/kate-gosselin-considering-legal-options-against-jon-after-reading-radar-report

However if this was during their marriage, and remember they are still married, we think she may have a tough time finding anything illegal about what Jon did. If her e-mail, computer, phone, etc. were held as a "joint" account or if she gave Jon the password or at any time gave him permission to look, legally he is probably permitted to access these accounts and didn't do anything that can be prosecuted.

DVDs determine the kids' fate?

The Examiner has some interesting thoughts on whether the Family Law judge should review any footage from the show in making his decision.

http://www.examiner.com/x-11363-Dallas-TV-Examiner~y2009m10d12-Jon-and-Kate-Plus-8-will-the-show-shape-Jon-and-Kate-Gosselins-hearing-results

Unfortunatly we forsee a whole host of objections if anyone tries to get the footage into evidence either to help them or hurt the other party. Not the best evidence, vague as to time, hearsay and lack of foundation, to name a few.

Jon withdrew money for an Audi

An annoymous commenter is reporting to us that Jon bought an Audi with the large amount of money he improperly withdrew from the joint account, the money Kate accused him of stealing from her (cough cough or from the children, however you look at it.)

We're seeking to verify this rumor....

Media spin........Kate ordered to return money TOO

In the baffling coverage of this divorce so one-sided we're surprised Lady Justice hasn't fallen over with the weight on her right, it was no surprise to us to find out that most media is only reporting half the story.......that Jon was ordered to return $180,000 to the marital account.

However People, who previously seemed to be on Kate's side, is also reporting the judge ordered any money improperly drawn, including the $100,000 Kate withdrew, to be replaced.

Could the media be any more obvious they bat for Kate? Start reporting the FACTS. The judge told BOTH these clowns to return their money, that is the facts. We will do our very best to give you a fair and impartial view of what is going on here, but the 200 to 1 articles spinning this story in Kate's favor make it difficult.

http://www.realitytvworld.com/news/judge-orders-jon-&-kate-jon-and-kate-gosselin-both-return-cash-9724.php

Jon ordered to return $180,000

Kate: "As difficult as this has been for me, I am pleased that the Court has ruled fairly on behalf of myself and my children. Now that this matter has been ruled on, I look forward to returning to private arbitration, as we have agreed to do, to resolve any remaining issues."

Of course we must point out Kate, who has a long history of exaggerating/stretching the truth/lying, originally accused Jon of stealing significantly more than just $180,000.

Jon and Kate leave court

Jon and Kate arrived at court this morning and left about an hour later.

What this brief hearing means we're not sure. It could mean that all these financial matters have been postponed until their next court date Oct. 24th. It could also mean the judge or arbitrator chastised them for behaving like whiny little babies and sent them home. We don't think anything significant could have happened in an hour.

Developing story.....

Jon a wreck at the twins' birthday party?

Insiders (i.e. friends of Kate?) are reporting Jon was less than put together at the twins' birthday party earlier this week.

He reportedly looked like he slept in his clothes, hadn't shaved, and left the party to go share e-mails from Kate on his blackberry with the paparazzi.

Or, maybe he's just trying to pull off the K-fed look. If so, we give him five stars.

Kate's credit card....denied!

Isn't it embarrassing when you run your credit card and it doesn't work?

Kate, who has said before that she never gets gas and always makes Jon do it (and who could with her nails?), tried to use her credit card at the gas pump this weekend on her more than $60,000 SUV (a number confirmed in court documents). The machine reportedly spit it back. Denied!

Is this a ploy to try to convince us she's not lying about having no money? (We here at Divorce, Gosselin style think she may be telling a few fiblets about her financial situation.) Or has TLC put a block on it now that they are no longer doing the show? Or maybe she just typed in the wrong zip code, which has happened to your humble Blogger from time to time, tee-hee.

Jon claims Kate has control of $1 million

Kate, who just last week was crying she couldn't pay the bills, is being accused by Jon of being in control of more than $1 million liquid dollars.

Jon also filed papers in court similar to Kate, which accuses her of withdrawing large amounts of money unauthorized, too. We were waiting for this, since Kate has admitted to withdrawing at least $100,000 unauthorized, but it was so the kids could eat, she claims.

http://www.etonline.com/news/2009/10/79587/

Kate files for spousal support

And she accuses Jon of having other sources of income besides the TLC show. And you don't, Kate? Come off it. Besides, isn't other sources of income sort of smart? Like, if the show ever ended? Gimme a break.

"What more can you possibly still film? You want us to go to the moon?"

Jon says the kids don't want to film, at all. Now we have Kate insisting the kids are crying over not filming, and Jon insisting they don't want.

Jon says he's considering converting to Judiasm. Bet that makes Kate mad after converting him to her born-again religion. Ha!

The kids are unanimous. They don't want to film. We filmed 152 episodes. What
more can you possibly still film? You want us to go to the moon? You want us to
take the kids and go to Korea? Are you crazy? They don't want to be on a
four-cylinder bus in Korea. They want to be home in the pool.

Kate, where is the money YOU withdrew?

Jon's lawyer says Kate withdrew over $460,000

We are continually baffled at the spin much of the media puts on the situation, largely seeming to come out on Kate's side. Although Kate just accused Jon of withdrawing more than $200,000 unauthorized, few media outlets are mentioning the statement from Jon's attorney about the multiple times Kate withdrew money unauthorized she has still refused to explain, an amount that is DOUBLE what she is accusing Jon of withdrawing. This doesn't even include the $100,000 she admits she took out unauthorized. And Jon's lawyer has dates.

When you play with fire, you better be able to back yourself up. If Kate is going to accuse Jon of "stealing" money, you can bet Jon is going to look into her records and see if she has ever "stolen" money. Somehow this woman thinks that anything she does will not be found out or will be overlooked, but that she has a right to accuse her husband of the same things she has done, because it's somehow not okay when he does it. And somehow, much of the media is falling for this and just believing at face value lies she spouts off. We don't get it. We've done our research, and we present all sides of this garbage.

Jon's lawyer says:

"In the past approximate four and a half year period when “Jon & Kate plus 8” has been airing, approximately $2,250,000 in revenue is believed to have been paid to the Gosselins, however, Jon is not certain of the specific amount of revenue paid, since Kate has, upon information and belief, violated the Arbitrator’s Order which directed that she “sign any documents necessary to give Husband internet access to the following bank accounts…” (four bank accounts were identified).

In addition, upon information and belief, Kate further violated the Arbitrator’s Order since she has not provided “a written explanation for the disposition of the withdrawal on 10/23/08 in the amount of $332,943.” In addition, Kate has not provided “a written explanation for the disposition for all withdrawals… the first such withdrawal… on 3/24/08 in the amount of $125,000,” as well as a withdrawal “dated 3/28/08 in the amount of $3,000,” nor has she provided “the disposition of the withdrawal on 4/14/08 in the amount of $8,534.89.”

TLC brazenly airs a new episode, has another one planned for next week too

Despite a cease and desist order filed by Jon, TLC brazenly aired a new episode of Jon and Kate tonight, "Time to Organize!" Who is in contempt of court now?

Although the cease and desist order appears to be largely related to actual filming of the kids, we believe it could easily be extended to putting their faces on T.V. period, be it in reruns or new episodes. After all, filming is only half of the problem. Lots of people film family memories. But most people don't show their home movies to millions. A judge will have to decide what to do about reruns, as well as all the hours of film that have not yet been shown.

Even more brazen, they are advertising another new episode next week, in which Kate insults Jon, saying "It was a big surprise when he showed up and helped me send the kids off to school. Crazy." Whhhha??? Just a minute here. Kate was the one has who admitted straight up in many, many other episodes that Jon gets the children up and off to school, including breakfast. Then he makes her coffee and serves it to her IN BED. Oh, and by the way? She also admitted he did bedtime, too--bathing, tucking them in, telling a story. Not to mention the two years he stayed home with the children while she went off on speaking engagements, something they both agree he did. Was Kate getting them off to school then??? A little late to change the whole story and try to paint him as the absent father and herself as the hard-working single mom who is doing it without help. We've seen too many episodes to fall for sloppy, quickly spun crap full of lies like this.

Kate whines Jon took her money, but admits she took money TOO

Why these two clowns feel the need to air every...last...bit...of dirty laundry in public is beyond me.

So much to report today, but I'll start here. Kate says Jon cleaned out their bank account of $200,000. (After all that you only have $200,000 saved!!!! WHAT?) Then she ironically admits that she took out $100,000 herself earlier this year and stashed it away, but it was to "buy my kids food." What makes her assume Jon isn't taking the money out to buy the kids food, too? If Kate can spin it that way, so can Jon. These people really must think we're idiots.

http://today.msnbc.msn.com/id/33173858/ns/today-today_people/

Jon admits he took money, just not that much

Jon responds to Kate's accusation he took more than $200,000 from their joint bank account (um, it was reportedly held in JOINT), by saying through his lawyer, "he has not withdrawn any money for his own remuneration with the exception of the past several months wherein he believes he only withdrew approximately $175,000 which is less than ten percent of the gross revenues paid the Gosselins."

Ha.

Kate's lawyer calls this a strategy

Kate Gosselin's attorney, Mark Momjian, stated the following on the Today show. "When the children are with Kate, Jon agreed that Kate would make the filming decisions involving the kids. This is less about a change of heart and more about a change of strategy on Jon's part."

Here's what Kate's side doesn't get. We don't care what Jon's motives are. We all know he can be just as selfish and money-hungry as Kate. That is not the point. It's not like because Jon is being a douche, for lack of a better word, that makes Kate a saint. They are both terrible. We care that the children are getting a little privacy now. They can spin it all they want that this was some kind of calculated move, but we see this as an "ends justify the means" situation. It doesn't matter who wants to end the show or how, just end it.

By the way, we wonder what move Jon's lawyers can make to stop the constant reruns on TLC as well. While the bulk of the problem is the constant cameras, we also see reruns as problematic. TLC could conceivably run reruns of this show for years. When the Sextuplets are 13, we don't want their friends to be able to tune in and see them when they were three and constipated. Get on it, Jon.

BOMBSHELL: Summary of Jon on Larry King tonight

Was tea with the girls really the last episode? God we hope so.

Here is a summary of Larry King:

1. Jon says he was "totally shocked" to find out TLC had fired Jon and renamed the show Kate Plus 8.

2. Jon says he doesn't talk to Kate. He wants to be friends with her and mediate the divorce. Jon's lawyer says they only communicate by text.

3. Jon is asking that both he and his children stop filming. He now says it is not healthy for the kids because they are going through a divorce. He takes blame for not doing this sooner. Jon has regrets about the show but stopped short of saying he wouldn't have done it period. He says he feels guilty.

4. Jon's lawyer says they asked weeks ago for the show to stop and that Kate Plus 8 was a preemptive strike from TLC. TLC asked Jon not to go on Larry King.

5. Jon talked to Kate's sister-in-law AUNT JODI today.

6. Jon says it would have been a breach of contract to say the show was exploiting the kids. He doesn't get along with TLC since January. TLC executives have been calling Jon about being in breach of contract.

7. Jon's lawyer says his contract is null because he had no legal representation and the contract did not provide any compensation for the kids. TLC has been operating without a permit and could be liable up to $2 million in fines. TLC admits that they did not compensate the kids and just left it up to Kate and Jon!!!!

8. Jon says the kids don't want to film.

9. TLC and Jon had an agreement to give him a motorcycle, he did not receive it. They told him he could get it at the end of the season if he was good.

10. Jon's attorney says "No judge is going to require these kids to participate without the consent of the father...It's a done deal....I don't know any judge in any jurisidction....[who would say] let the kids keep producing." (NOTE we said the same thing in a post below)

11. Jon said they collectively made $22,500 an episode, about $1 million last year from the show only.

12. Kate issued a statement that Jon's interest is Jon and her interest is the children's. Jon implied TLC wrote it for her. Kate's lawyer says Jon's timing is in connection with him being fired from the show. He says the parties agreed the party who has custody would make the decisions regarding filming at that time.

13. Kate's lawyer says if she thought it were detrimental she would take the kids off the show. He wants to prove this in court. Jon says TLC is not the parents of his kids.

The Child-Exploiting Network (TLC) spins Jon's halting of production against Jon

Jon has posted a sign in front of his house telling film crews not to enter.

Look, it's obvious that Jon might have only filed to halt production of his children's TV show because he was mad at Kate. But the end result is that his children will be away from the cameras while going through a terribly messy and painful divorce.

Shockingly, TLC has turned this move all around on Jon and issued the following statement:

"We are aware of Jon Gosselin's recent statements, and remain deeply disappointed at his continued erratic behavior. He and the family were shooting as recently as last Friday, without incident, and his latest comments are grossly inaccurate, without merit and are clearly opportunistic. Despite Jon Gosselin's repeated self destructive and unprofessional actions, he remains under an exclusive contract with TLC. Direct filming of the children has been currently suspended, pending further conversations between both parents."

We don't find asking that a film crew stop filming little children "erratic," "unprofessional" or "self-destructive." We actually find it to be in their best interest. And contracts do not scare us because contracts can be breached, intentionally, especially if it is in the children's best interest. In fact it's unlikely any judge in Pennsylvania wouldn't allow Jon to breach such a contract. They wouldn't even give him a penalty. Paul Petersen of A Minor Consideration, a child actor advocacy group, has even offered to help Jon breach his contract. So go get, 'em Jon, regardless of your motives, this is right for the children.

We want to know how TLC feels justified in filming even one second of a child's journey through a divorce. The children are victims here, and now more than ever need privacy, normalcy, and consistency. This divorce and the children's journey through it is absolutely none of TLC's business and they have no right to interfere. As Jon says, Get OFF his property.

Jon files papers to END THE SHOW

The Insider is reporting that Jon, through his lawyer, has finally filed cease and desist papers to end the filming of Jon and Kate Plus 8.

Rumors have abounded the past few days that Jon's leave from the show was not mutual or voluntary and that he was actually upset about it. If true, we were just waiting for Jon to stick it to Kate and hit her where it most hurts--take away her path to glory, her show. If he can't have the show, we wonder if he doesn't want her to have it either. Although we would like to think that Jon has filed these papers to protect his children and to do what is in their best interest, the timing looks much more like a jab at Kate. He has had months and months to make this move and protect his kids, but he's been too busy with women and partying.

We also think it will be very hard for a judge not to find that this show is detrimental for children going through a messy divorce. We think even the most liberal of judges would grant this cease and desist immediately.

Jon has a new lawyer now, one clearly trying to reshape his image. It is another very smart move to come out against filming, making Jon look like the responsible parent concerned about his kids, and making Kate look like a money-hungry whore if she opposes his request. Very smart, calculated move.

We see Kate as addicted to her show, the fame, and its gravy train, stopping at nothing, even her own children's mental stability and core privacy, to continue filming. Someone is going to choke on their Cheerios when they get served this morning.
